The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As Kendra finished regaining her composure she could see Emily starting to snap out of it. Dang! I knew I was a good kisser, never put no one in a trance before. Kendra thought giggling a little more. It was actually quite adorable that she had not only felt everything that she had tried to get her to sense, but she seemed in shock. She had kissed back a little, so at the very least Kendra knew she wasn't revolted. She just.... Needed a minute to collect herself.
"Honey I thank that you outta..." She was cut off. She stopped mid sentence when she felt thin anxious fingers dancing eagerly up her sides. The fabric of her shirt moved and spread out beneath cold hands that explored. Kendra didn't offer any resistance. She felt quite good. Suddenly the mood changed for playful laughter to serious. Kendra took in a tiny breath. A inward gasp as more emotions swept over her. A longing needing want to be touched. Kendra reached down and grabbed one of Emily's hands. Though it was cold, she brought it to her cheek and nessled against it.
Kendra saw Emily leaning in. She leaned in as well. Kendra's lips for the second time pressed into Emily's. The warmth of Emily's lips pressed into hers made her lips tingle. It was like every cell in her body was coming alive. Jolted by the electricity shared between the two. Kendra kissed back with passion. She was really swept up into it now. She didn't fight it. Why would she fight it when it felt so nice? Kendra's nibbled a bit at Emily's bottom lip. She had to actually restrain herself. It took some effort to keep her hands at her sides. That was a short lived victory however as her hand swooped up the length of Emily's arm and her hand gripped at her shoulder.
Kendra held onto Emily as if she were a life jacket and she was on a rolling tide in the middle of the Atlantic. It was the singal most eurotic moment of Kendra's life. She barely knew Emily, and yet Emily knew her so well. It was a innocent moment that turned to something more spiritual between them. Kendra had never kissed another mutant before. It was that overwhelming feeling of acceptance and understanding, and maybe a little lust too that spurred her on.
Soft kisses on the lips, soon turned to a flurry of kisses along the line of Emily's jaw. Kisses along her jaw turned to playful nips at her neck. Kendra didn't realize what she really meant when she said that she had no off switch. That was turning out to be more true than she realized.
Suddenly a thought occurred to her. Kendra stopped kissing Emily's neck. She held Emily at arm's length and looked her in the eye. She was so caught up in her own feelings she hadn't stopped to consider that she might be taking advantage. She knew that Emily felt what other's felt. Was that the reason for the returned kiss? "You wanted to kiss me back right? It wasn't just you absorbin my emotion and sendin it back?" Kendra wanted to know if what Emily felt was what she felt. She wanted to know the answer to that question more than anything. She looked at Emily. Her eyes dancing across Emily's sweet face. Kendra was biting her lower lip again. Chewing on it as she sat on the edge of her seat for an answer.

Emily hadn't really thought things could get more intense than they had a minute ago, but... She was very very wrong. Okay, so she'd not really been too attracted to people before, and she'd admit she'd found Kendra's personality and emotions more than a little attractive. She was just so genuine and intense, it was really weird for Emily to actually feel like that towards another person, she typically didn't think those things.
And here she was, kissing a pretty girl outside the mansion late at night. Emily just melted against Kendra in a kind of happy willingness, her hand gently twisting and playing with locks of the southern girl's smooth hair.
She shuddered a little against the other girl, a motion that had entirely nothing to do with the cold outside. And just basked in the emotions radiating from Kendra. The felt so soothing. She didn't often think that about another person. On the brightside too, she couldn't pick up any other emotions from anywhere nearby, she was entirely focused on Kendra and everything else was being shunted out without an exception.
After a few more little playful sounds Emily took in the question and gently leaned her head forwards, burying it gently in Kendra's shoulder, the warmth and softness of her and her emotions washing over Emily. "I..." It took her a few moments to gather her thoughts. "Both I think? I like you... I think." She wasn't sure it was a little confusing. "But your emotions are so intense and warm, I like being near them~"

Kendra wrapped her arms around Emily and listened to her as she spoke softly into her shoulder. She had long forgotten about the cold. Even though she was only out in a thin tank top since she had put her hoody on Emily. Kendra stroked Emily's hair softly as she spoke. A smile pulling at the corners of her mouth. She couldn't help but feel happy. Connected. It was all pretty confusing, but one thing that wasn't confusing was that all the thoughts and feelings flowing off of Kendra were strong, and undeniable.
Kendra looked up at the moon and thought for a moment. This wasn't exactly planned, it was as shocking for her as it was for Emily that this led here. But she wanted it. She squeezed Emily lightly and then raised her chin with her finger. She wanted to look into Emily's eyes once more. She said nothing. Only allowing her eyes to dance over her as she felt something more. No words even needed to be said. Kendra quietly gazed into Emily's eyes.
Kendra was feeling an overwhelming urge to whisk Emily away. New York was the city that never sleeps. You could be out and about at 2 am and find a good slice of pizza or some great Chinese food place that was still open and serving customers. Kendra was smiling again. Every thought, every emotion she was trying to convey in a silent plea was screaming ADVENTURE! COME ON AN ADVENTURE WITH ME! Emily certainly would likely need to change, but Kendra wanted to bring her into her world now. Kendra spent her nights dream walking. Which meant she got to know the city she was in. She would spent nights wandering every street. Until she got to know it like the back of her hand. It happened in at Atlanta and in Macon when she lived there awhile.
Kendra would just walk the streets of the city at night with her camera. She would dream walk around every single inch. She would see everything. It was never quite an adventure with no one to talk to. It was more like killing time. Kendra was still hoping that Emily could guess her emotion one last time. She continued to look deeply into Emily's beautiful eyes and she thought about all the times she saw something wonderful on her dream walking excursions. Perhaps a wonderfully photogenic thing. Some abandoned house that told an amazing story within it's walls? Kendra's sense of discovery and wonder radiated off her in waves. The dominating emotion was the desire to share that with Emily and the excitement of showing her a glimpse of what her world was like.
Course she'd need to change herself as well. She wasn't going to take Emily walking the streets of New York for 2 am pizza in their pajamas. Kendra continued to stare into Emily's eyes conveying her wishes through thought and emotion. As she did so her thumb brushed lightly over Emily's soft lip. She leaned forward and kissed the spot where her thumb just was. Just a peck. She supposed she could control herself better, but that growing difficult. She was exploding with excitement at the thought of adventure. This was Kendra's first night in New York after all. They'd be exploring the city together for the first time.

God, it was weird being held by somebody. Emily actually quite liked it. Her power was weird with, the closer a person was the 'louder' their emotions seemed to her, and when she was this close to Kendra (Or kissing her, as it turned out) she'd only really pick up on Kendra's emotions, which meant that she wasn't picking up on anything else nearby. And as she was discovering not only did she like Kendra's emotions, but a single person was far less headache inducing.
She looked up into the southern red head's eyes, and felt a fairly powerful urge to kiss her again, but batted it down. Dammit, Emily hadn't ever felt attraction to other people. It was freaking intense. Maybe it was worse for her because when it was mutual she could sense all of those emotions, and it spurred her own attraction on even further.
She responded to the peck with a follow up kiss, that was a little deeper but not as intense as before and found herself blushing from head to toe. It took her a few moments, and attempts to gather her voice. The first few times it came out as a little croak. "Um... You can tell me what you're thinking, I'm not a telepath and I'm picking up mostly affection from you." She muttered, her cheeks feeling very very hot.

Kendra laughed. It was tempting to keep having Emily sense her. Something about having an unspoken bond with someone else you felt safe with was kind of romantic. She cleared her throat a bit and feel a slight blush. She had to remind herself that Emily couldn't actually read her thoughts only her emotions. She was pretty good at guessing them, but it didn't mean she could always tell what was on her mind. "I was thankin, it might be fun if'n we got dressed up and went out into the city for a bit. I've spent so many nights wand'rin round lonely cities. I thought we could check out New York. There's a pizza place I saw when I was makin my'way in. I'm the new girl in town.... I'd like to see the city."
Kendra thought about how nice it'd be to stroll the streets of New York. The life of the city breathing into them. The full moon out above them and the stars. The sounds the smells. Kendra wanted to experience all of them, but now the thought of going to sleep and experiencing them alone was the last thing she wanted. She was a wanderer. Kendra had a strong wanderlust. She liked exploring about. She wanted a chance to see New York and what it had to offer. No one would be able to tell they were mutants. They would be just two girls out on the town in The Big Apple.
Kendra reached down and squeezed Emily's hands gently and then let them go. "We could head out? Maybe check outta few sights?" Kendra was sure she'd have plenty of time alone to explore the city. She wasn't sure why it was suddenly so important for her to explore it for the first time with Emily, but she was excited. She was honestly wide awake now. It was the early hours of the morning, but she didn't even consider sleep. So much had happened in the last couple of hours.
Kendra also wanted to grab her camera. It was her passion. Sure, it was a little cliché that she wanted to do the touristy thing and see New York at night when the city came alive. The thought alone was enough to make Kendra bubble over with anticipation.
"Thank we should get changed first if'n we're goin. Those are some mighty fine pj's, but i'm guessin you'd look a bit crazy wanderin round New York in ya jam jams." Kendra said laughing some more.
Kendra could be wild, impulsive. Fun. She wasn't always the shy neurotic girl who shied away from anything social and frightening. When she felt comfortable with you, she actually opened up quite a lot. She was sweet and fun, and a little bit crazy. She liked to do things spur of the moment and she could easily get swept up in some notion that struck her powerfully enough. This idea was probably crazy, but it sounded like a blast.

Emily felt a large jolt of excitement go through her at Kendra's suggestion. She had indeed gone out into the city on more sleepless nights, she had a fake ID for just this purpose, where she'd generally hit the bars and clubs that weren't too showy or fussed about checking ID, especially when the people in question were cute girls... Go figure, mild sexism.
She felt another little jolt go up her arms when Kendra grasped her hands, she shivered a little and looked into the girl's eyes again. What the hell? Why was the proximity with Kendra effecting her this profoundly.
Puzzling it out, nearest she could figure was she'd never been near many people other than her dad who had profound affection for her. That might explain why she enjoyed visiting him so much... Well, that and she loved him and he was awesome. That too.
"T-that sounds like fun." She smiled when the other girl suggested getting changed. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea." Her crimson cheeks were fading a little bit now.
She leaned in and kissed the girl one more time before giggling and hugging her. "This is going to be fun, I'll meet you back here in 15?" She asked before dashing off to her room to get changed into something a bit more fun.

Kendra touched her lips and watched as Emily scurried off to get changed. The way she ran off excitedly to have a night out made Kendra giggle again. It escaped her throat as a startled burst of laughter. I can't remember the last time I felt this way. It's been so long since..... Kendra smiled and headed off to her own room. She allowed her thought to end mid sentence. It didn't matter. She was more than a little infatuated with Emily.
Kendra had a bit of a late start. Instead of walking together Emily dashed off and Kendra watched her heading up. Lost in her own thoughts Kendra took her time heading back. She had 15 after all. Hope that pizza place is still open. Genuine New York style pizza? What a treat! Kendra slowly moved through the grass taking particular notice of the way the light changed in the sky. It was still dark out, despite how early it was. It was nearing three AM yet she felt as though the night was just beginning. Who needs sleep anyways?
Kendra moved up the steps of the mansion and pushed open the door. She was greeted by the quite of a large mansion. Everyone sound asleep in their beds. Quietly dreaming dreams of their own adventures. Kendra moved along the stairs, trying not to be to loud. Her hand moved along the wall and the beautiful woodwork as she climbed the stairs. Kendra's room was off to the right. Down the hall and then make a left. She had little trouble finding it. Oh my god! A thought just dawned on her. This is a date! I don't have anything to wear! Kendra's shoulder slumped. A little frown formed on her pouty lips as she pushed open the door to her bedroom.
Her room was mostly empty. There was her bed and her desk. No personal effects. It was just her first night here. She hadn't amassed any personal tailismens to personalize her room in any way. Kendra moved into the room and opened the bag on her bed. It had a few changes of clothes but even her wardrobe was sparse. Great! I'm going to look like a scrub!
Kendra closed the door and pulled her shirt over her head. Tossing it casually on the bed she pulled out another a beige sweater. It was the only one she owned. It was wool and warm. The sleeves were a little too big and they dwarfed over the ends of her hands. The neckline was big and oval and reveal a good portion of her collarbone. It often was so big that it fell over one revealing shoulder. She pulled the sweater up to her mouth and felt the wool on her cheek. Kendra closed her eyes. I'm going on a date! She reiterated.
Pulling the sweater over her head she slipped off her shorts and quickly pulled on one of the only two pairs of jeans she had. There were rips and tears in the thighs and knees of them. Though not ideal, the other pair she owned had more rips. Kendra sat down and pulled the grey wash jeans up over her hips and fastened the button before slipping on a pair of combat boots. Her personal style was that of a rocker, a tough girl.
She dressed tough because normally she was mousy and shy. She dressed tough so people didn't bother her. She wanted to come off all edgy and unapproachable most of the time. She was usually happy to fade into the background and not let people see her. Emily saw her. God does she see me! Kendra thought blushing again with no one around to witness it.
Kendra tied her boots tightly. Exhaling a nervous breath she felt a fluttery feeling in her stomach. She was all excited and nervous energy. The way you were before the first day of school or flying for the first time. She wasn't flying, but she was soaring right now. Kendra could barely contain the feelings that were rushing through her. She had always been a very emotional person. Only, for most of her life she kept those emotions bottled up, buried deep down because they mattered to nobody except herself. Now the cork was let loose. She was overflowing with feelings she hadn't felt in a long time.
"Well.... Let's not keep her waiting." Kendra said to the empty room as she grabbed her camera and slipped out the door. Closing the door behind her she took one final look at her bed. Won't do much sleeping tonight. She thought quietly. It didn't matter. This whole night felt like a wonderful, wonderful dream anyway.
Emily dashed off to her room, expecting the excitement to ebb a little as she approached her room and left Kendra outside of her power's range. But it kinda didn't... If anything it actually got more intense. She was pretty nervous. More nervous than she'd been in quite a long time. She moved into her room and dropped her Pajamas unceremoniously on the floor in a pile before digging out some clothes.
She pulled one some ripped-style jeans, and a very very outdated "Took an arrow to the knee" Top, before grabbing a cardigan and a slightly fancier long navy coat which she pulled on and buttoned up neatly on top of that. She didn't need a scarf or anything, it wasn't all that cold really. She pulled on some half knee boots that were standard black leather and then grabbed her phone, which wasn't totally charged but probably had just enough for the evening. Hopefully.
She quickly brushed and combed her hair a bit before slipping out of her bedroom. She was back outside shortly, in more like 10 than 15 minutes, and then stood around waiting for Kendra, rocking slightly on her heels basking her nerves, feeling all kinds of silly fleeting emotions and thinking about the kisses they'd shared. Thinking on it now, she definitely felt affection towards the other girl while she as away from her, but it wasn't anywhere near as intense as it had been.
So she felt real affection more powerfully when she was near someone it was mutual with. That was actually kind of cool. She didn't mind all that much.

Kendra moved along the hall quietly. She had her camera hanging around her neck and her phone resting silently in her pocket. There was a stillness in the air around her. An unsettling quiet of nerves and excitement. She really was rusty at this, but still it would be fun. She moved down the hall and found the stairs quickly she took them down two at a time. She nearly leapt down the last step, but she decided that she didn't want to wake anyone with her clumsy flailing.
The halls of the mansion were dead. She felt like a teenager about to sneak out of the house. Her nose crinkled a bit and her bottom lip was suffering more abuse as she chewed on it nervously. Kendra waited for Emily to be done getting ready by the foot of the stairs.
She pulled out her phone and scrolled through the menus. The ghostly light of the phone lit up her pale face in the otherwise dark hall. Kendra's eyes lulled over her text messages. She had one new text....
Oh? Kendra thought as she pulled open the texts. Who messaged me? She didn't have a great many friends. She mostly kept to herself. She had Delilah, her friend back home in Georgia. Delilah was a journalist friend of hers she met when she submitted some of her photos to the local paper. The two of them hit it off and began quite good friends. Lie was a serious buttoned down woman who considered Kendra a friend, but also a source. Journalists... Always looking for a leg up. Kendra thought the message might be from Lie. She hadn't heard from her in some time and wondered if everything was ok. Lie normally only messaged her when something big was going on. Some ground breaking story.
New message. Wednesday 29 3:08 AM
This is a message from your wireless service provider. Don't forget to renew your plan. We have great options available to you starting as low as ....
Kendra hit delete and didn't even bother. She slipped the phone back in her pocket. There was only two or three contacts in her phone anyways. Gotta get Emily's number so I can text her sometime. What's taking that girl so long anyways? Kendra found herself anxiously waiting. No messages. She wasn't surprised. Lie mostly talked to her about work stuff. She had some photos she had to email in whenever she got a moment. She liked having money in her pocket after all. Kendra didn't have that many problems with money. Her photos were enough to keep her living comfortably.
She had planned to stay here awhile until she had the time to start looking for an apartment in the city, but after meeting Emily she decided she might want to extend her stay a little while. See what happens. Eventually she wanted to open a studio. She had some money saved up. It was her dream. Kendra killed a few minutes by turning on her camera and scrolling through a few of the most recent photos. She had taken some really beautiful photos for this article and she was probably already late on her deadline. Tomorrow. She thought as she scrolled through the pictures.
Turning off the camera and started heading for the spot where they were outside. She figured she would be the first to arrive. She was pleasantly surprised to see that Emily had got there first. I'm not the only one who's terribly excited. She thought smirking a bit. She moved up to Emily. Reaching down she slipped her hand into Emily's and allowed her fingers to lace into hers. "Ready to putta hitch in our' get'along?" She asked. She watched Emily's eyes. She wanted to be as good at reading her emotion as Emily was at reading hers, instead she found herself just getting lost in her eyes. That wasn't really a problem though. If it was, it was a darn nice problem to have.

Emily grinned at the other girl as she approached. She felt her move into her power's ranger before she actually saw her and felt a swooping feeling akin to butterflies moving through her stomach. It was quite nerve racking feeling like that over a new person. She waved at Kendra as she got near and smiled widely.
As their fingers laced together she felt another wave of nerves and awkwardness sweep over her. She flushed in rather red and murmured a reply. "Yup." She felt a little burst of electricity dancing through her limbs at the contact.
She took in a deep breath as they made their way out of the mansion. "So um.... I don't have a huge amount of experience with this kind of thing, but this technically counts as you asking me on a date, right?" She murmured, doing her best to hide her blush from the southern belle.

Kendra thought about it for a moment. She definitely considered this to be a date. Why else would her heart be pounding against her chest. Kendra nodded at the question. She didn't tease or point out that Emily was blushing. She simply nodded. "Yeah, i thank so." She said softly, as if her nod was not enough. They walked off the grounds and caught a cab. Kendra opened the door for Emily to get in before climbing in after her.
"Where you girls going?"
The cabbie asked abruptly. Kendra smiled and shot back. "Somewhere that has good pizza." The cabbie nodded and turned around and started driving. He didn't get paid to ask questions and if two crazy chicks wanted to take a cab for pizza at three am he didn't mind. The meter was running after all. Kendra turned her attention back to Emily. She wasn't sure how being in the cab would affect her mood, but the cabbie did seem to be a bit cranky.
In the rear view mirror the cabbie's eyes washed over there, dull and bored. He didn't say a word as he quietly drove, every so often he'd glance back at something. Probably because they were two dolled up girls taking a 3 am cab for pizza. Kendra didn't know where they were going. She figured the driver would know a place that was open this late. She was worried about other things.
"So.....Umm... It's not'chur first date is'it?" Kendra wasn't sure. She seemed so new at this. The kiss. The thought of this being a date. Kendra wasn't a player by any stretch of the imagination. Her whole life she had, had a total of one girlfriend and one guy who took her to dinner and never called her again to this point. She wasn't the expert here. There was no expert. Between the two of them they both were just kind of making it up as they went along. Kendra didn't mind the impulsiveness of it all. She quite enjoyed it actually.
Kendra reached down and grabbed Emily's hand that was resting on her knee. She laced her fingers once more. She wanted to kiss her again. To once again taste those sweet lips, but she felt awkward about how the cabbie kept looking at them so she kept herself behaved. When we get into the city. She thought. Maybe out under the stars somewhere. Kendra's idea of romance was terribly cheesy and corny. She was impressed by the dumbest things. Right now she was finding Emily's shy nature adorable. It was usually her that was all shy and nervous. It was quite cute from the other perspective.

So this was a date. Yay, more butterflies. She was fairly silent as they made their way to the taxi, Emily simply walked with the other girl, holding hands in relative quiet. She had quite a large smile plastered across her lips. She'd never thought of dates as this thing that just happened spontaneously. They were something to be planned and thought out, and likely to only occur after having known somebody for ages. This worked for her though.
Emily barely even noticed the cabbie's mood truth be told, she was so focused on Kendra. Even though she wasn't really looking at her any more than normal or anything, she was paying very very close attention to the feeling radiating out from the southern girl.
She blushed super hard once more at the question. "Uhm... I mean... If you want to get technical...." There wasn't really any technicalities about it, she'd just never been on a date before period. She'd also not kissed anyone before Kendra. She left that out though.
She let out a little purr at the fingers lacing through hers and leaned her body against Kendra's, her head gently resting on the other girl's shoulder.

Kendra didn't make a conscious effort to control her feelings she just sat there naturally. She allowed whatever she felt to lightly drift off of her aura like a cool breeze. She was uninhibited in that she didn't try to hide herself. She was in the moment. She was happy as a kitten chasing a leaky cow. She felt the head rest on her shoulder and she looked over. Kissing the top of Emily's head softly she nestled against it.
It was odd. Feeling so close to someone you've known for a short time. She couldn't explain it and didn't care to. The only thing she knew was that it was the start of something wonderful. She had her reservations about the place when she first arrived at the mansion. She had almost turned back in fact. She was standing at the gate waiting for someone to buzz her in when Ghost showed up. If it hadn't been for Ghost, Kendra wouldn't have met Emily. Ghost had swooped in to greet her the very moment Kendra decided to give up and leave. She was so apprehensive about the whole thing. For a moment she had even briefly considered the mansion being a trap. Some government facility where they lured mutants to test on them.
Kendra shook her head lightly as thoughts rolled through her overactive mind. Thoughts of settling in and finding a place in the city. Thoughts of her first date in ages. "It's been awhile for me." She said. After a moment or two she forgot the cabbie was there. He didn't matter. Nothing mattered except the girl in her arms. Kendra's arm slipped behind Emily and she rested her hand on her shoulder rubbing it lightly.
Kendra tried to look around and see the sights of New York, but even that seemed unimportant. It was really sweet actually the way Emily had suddenly gotten so shy. It was her first date no wonder she was nervous. Kendra found herself wondering how that could even be possible. She didn't seemed to the shy type by default. Only after an explosion of powerful feelings did she suddenly get bashful. There had to be a word for it. There had to be a word for meeting someone you felt like you've known you're whole life. Someone who's connection with you is almost instant. There should be. Kendra thought as she shifted in her seat a little to bring Emily a little bit closer.
"We're here."
Kendra looked up and saw out the window they were parked along the curb. A sign read 'Delvecio's pizza. The best @#$% pizza in NY!' Hmmm.. Ok. Kendra leaned forward and handed the cabbie some money before hopping out. The night air was still brisk and with a slight chill. At least now she had on her sweater. Kendra's hair fell to one side of her shoulder. Her red hair cascaded in a waterfall over the beige of her sweater. The left side of her neck was exposed and the collar of her sweater had slipped to reveal the pale shoulder beneath.
Reaching up Kendra tucked some of her hair behind her ear and smiled as she reached out a hand to help Emily out of the car. "Are you ready for the best fudgin, pizza in NY?" She asked coyly. She wasn't optimistic about it, but hey pizza was pizza. It wasn't the pizza that was important, it was who she was eating it with.

The cab ride was fairly uneventful, other than occasional shifts in the colouration of Emily's cheeks depending on what Kendra said or felt. She picked up on the cabbies apprehension at last, and assumed it was because he'd picked them up at the mansion. Not too many were overly fond of picking up people from there. Luckily the state of the city wasn't too volatile at the moment, mutants weren't being chased with pitchforks.
"I find that hard to believe, you're lovely." She murmured, loud enough for Kendra to hear but not the cabby, her cheeks still very pink.
She chuckled. "I somehow doubt it, but it's worth a shot." She'd heard many tales of places with the tag 'best of' with a specific food attached in New York City. Best burgers, best pizza, best pasta, best Lasagne. The list went on. Often they were just fairly decent places, but were obviously over-exaggerated in their level of quality.
She held the other girl's hand gently, rubbing her thumb along the other girls hand softly, humming gently as they walked up to the pizza place.

Kendra could be shy. She could be socially awkward and spastic. She could be the very definition of the words social outcast. It wasn't everyone that she came out of her shell too. She was usually quiet and reserved. She had felt something for Emily. She didn't know how or why, but it sprang forth and her feelings for her had been growing by the minute. It wasn't lust or passion. It was genuine affection. She adored this girl. "No it's true... I'm not always the social butterfly." She joked. If that hadn't been painfully obvious when they first met.
Kendra stood out on the sidewalks as they approached the front door. The moon in the sky was dark and the twinkling stars above were beginning to fade a little. The sky was dark, but it was getting lighter. She could tell. Kendra looked back down at Emily and smiled. Opening the door for her date. She followed her in. Hmm... What to order?
"Welcome to Delvecio's. Find yourselfs a table and someone will take your order shortly?"
The guy who greeted them seemed fairly unimpressed with them. He didn't seem to care that they were both a couple of bombshells coming in at 3 in the morning. He was tired and he wanted to be at home in bed and not in some crappy pizza place. The place was fairly small. It wasn't like a massive restaurant but the atmosphere was nice and classy surprisingly given the profanity on the sign.
A waiter came over and asked them what they'd like. Nice an all night pizza place. No wonder they say New York is the greatest city on earth. Wait.... Do they say that? I think they do. Or is that something they say about dinsey land... Wait who cares?!?!? You're on a date! "Umm..... Hmmm... We.... willll.... haaaaave..... Uhh..." Kendra looked over at Emily. She just realized this date may end before it even began. There was one deal breaker Kendra had and if it was the wrong answer it would be ' well i had a great time don't call me, i'll call you.' "Do you like pineapples on your pizza?" Kendra asked. She wasn't smiling or laughing she was dead serious. They had a serious pineapple dilemma on their hands.
Kendra looked up when the guy spoke again. "Take your time and order, but can i start you with a few drinks?" Kendra smiled and shrugged. "Got any wine?" Probably not this little mom and pop place probably doesn't have.... "White or red ma'am?" Son of a bitch! "Red!"
"And for you're meal?"
Kendra looked over at Emily to see what she'd order. "I'll have whatever she's having." That was a cop out. She would let Emily order and she'd have the same. There was more than just pizza on the menu, there were pastas and subs and other Italian-y things to choose from. Kendra shifted a little on the soft booth they were sitting on in the corner. Quite an intimate little booth. She thought looking around the booth admiring the decor as she waited for Emily to order.
