The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Emily hummed a little and continued to sip her cup of tea, finished it before going to make a second one. They didn't have that much caffeine in them, but that wasn't really the point anyway. She enjoyed the taste, it was a little soothing. Thankfully not many students or teachers were around this area of the mansion at this time of night. She was only really picking up the odd extra few sets of emotions that weren't coming from Kendra.
She chuckled again at Kendra's reaction to the compliment. She really was very shy. Emily had never seen the point in being shy, you got a lot further in life and in conversations by being assertive and relatively honest with what you wanted or what your motives are. "Well that would explain why I've not seen you before."
She smiled emphatically. "I know exactly what you mean. It's really hard to rest when there are these constant things popping in and out of my head like voices. Especially when you live in a building filled with hormonal teenagers." She added with a little venom. They were so annoying, she grumbled.
Emily chuckled at the other girl. "Well I suppose you could try finding an adapted to sleep near. That would probably do the trick for you, As for me I don't think there IS an off switch, I just need to learn how to cope, which isn't really working out thusfar."

Kendra set her coffee down again. Creamer she forgot the creamer. Her brain was so scattered tonight. Kendra moved over to the fridge and opened the door. She had her back to Emily as she leaned over into the fridge rummaging the shelf. Ah. There's the one. She found some French vanilla for her brew and closed the fridge.
All and all Kendra's wasn't usually in a bad mood. She could be nervous or shy, unsure or a little flirty, but she was rarely depressed or angry. Kendra was a undying optimist and always tried to look at the bright side of things. Even when her luck was consistently terrible she still cheerfully tried to see the light in the darkness.
Kendra added the creamer to her coffee as Emily told her she should sleep near an adapted. Kendra's eyebrow raised in peaked interest as she turned around to face Emily. An adapted? Kendra wasn't sure what that was. She had never met an adapted human or even been aware of them. Hell, she hadn't even heard about the X-men until she heard about this place. The name X-Men sounded vaguely familiar but it wasn't something she knew much about. She knew they were mutants but she thought they might be some civil rights protest group or something. She grew up pretty sheltered from the concept of other mutants in a small town in Georgia.
Kendra decided not to ask about the adapted thing. She simply nodded. She didn't want to seem like she was living under a rock her whole life. She had embarrassed herself enough. Kendra's creamer cooled her coffee enough so it wouldn't burn her lips and she took a sip. That was one thing about dream walking. She always still had a appetite. Just because she was dreaming didn't mean she didn't get cravings.
"How long have you been in the mansion?" She asked. The depths of her curiosity still hadn't reached the bottom of her well. She took another sip of her coffee. Being here hasn't helped her? Maybe no one can help me. What's this adapted thing she mentioned? She thought settling herself back against the counter across from Emily.

Emily finished making her second cup of tea and sipped it gingerly, rummaging for a bit until she found some biscuits and set out a few for her and Kendra, nibbling on one gently with her tea. She listened to Kendra's emotions intently, assuming that some of this conversation might be filled in by her conscious or unconscious emotions judging by how shy she'd been shown to be up until this point.
Emily smiled at the other girl and picked up on the mixture of uncertainty and confusion over Emily's mentioning of Adapteds. She really couldn't blame Kendra for not having heard of them, she didn't know they existed until she'd had her first meeting with Bailey. And he'd neglected to mention it to her, and led to a lot of confusion. Admittedly she could have been more forthcoming over the whole thing, but whatever.
"I'm guessing you've not heard of adapteds? They're kind of like anti- mutants, our powers just don't work when we are near them. I've got a friend, Bailey who is one. The first time I met him and my powers just shut off I freaked the hell out." She wasn't ashamed to admit it had been pretty confusing and terrifying to just be shut off like that.
That that question took a moment to think about. "Hmm. I think it's been about a year." She paused. "Wow, I can't believe I've been here that long." She really had made no progress. That was a serious bummer.

Kendra listened carefully about the adapted humans. There were really people out there who could just cancel out powers like that? Kendra couldn't imagine what might happen if she accidentally ran into one while she was dream walking. If her dream walking form just ran into someone who canceled out her powers, that really didn't affect her body did it? Kendra couldn't help but think that she would stay asleep and her dream walking body would just disappear. Would she be able to wake up? Would it put her in a coma? would it hurt?
The whole thing sounded sketchy and Kendra wasn't sure she actually wanted to meet an adapted, let alone sleep near one. "Sounds pretty intense." She finally said and after few moments of dead silence. Emily would have to point them out to her later if there were more than just one of them roaming around the mansion. She wanted to keep her distance just in case. She wasn't willing to gamble on something like that when she was restlessly wandering around the halls.
Emily seemed mature and very together. Kendra looked at her as she sat with her tea and took a biscuit. She wasn't really hungry anymore but she ate just the same as she looked at Emily. Then out of no where an innocent stray thought popped into her head. She was thinking about what Emily said about sleeping near the adapted and her daydreaming mind wandered onto something else. How she'd rather be sleeping closer to Emily. That would be... Oh gee wiz! She realized Emily could sense her and started thinking about something else. Filing taxes. Something nice and boring. She glanced at Emily to see if her expression had changed.
Kendra finished her biscuit but didn't reach for another. She realized her hands were a bit restless themselves. She was absentmindedly tugging at the hem of her shirt. Emily spoke again saying that she couldn't believe she had been here a whole year. "So what are your plans after this? Moving out somewhere in the city?" Kendra wasn't sure exactly what her own plans were. Emily seemed about her age, though she seemed to have herself a lot more together then herself.
She had plans to find a place of her own eventually. She wanted to open a photography studio in the city somewhere, though where she was going to get the funds for that she had no idea. She only knew it was her dream to have a studio of her own. Kendra still had a lot to learn about herself and about mutants as a whole. There was still so much she didn't know.
"I figure when I get on my feet I'll find a place of my own in the city, maybe open up a photography studio." Kendra's photos always evoked deep emotion in her. They weren't just photos they were captured moments of life. They each told a story and she was an excellent photographer. Most of her photos could be sold as art, though she wasn't in it for the artistry she was in it for the beauty of capturing a honest moment. Kendra realized she was off in her head again quietly thinking. Emily could probably hold a conversation with Kendra's emotions alone. She probably wouldn't have to utter a word to carry a conversation. Emily seemed very skilled at her power.

Emily sipped her tea and nibbled on the corner of a biscuit before shrugging at Kendra's comment and remembering her first meeting with Bailey in more detail. It had been... Well, it was confusing to say the least. She hadn't known about them and had gotten irritated at Bailey for not having explained that he was one when she started freaking out over the whole thing.
"It wasn't that bad... Just confusing. You know, suddenly whenever he got near me my power just turned off, and I hadn't heard of them at the time so I didn't really know what was going on." She left out the bit about biting his head off over the whole adapted thing. "Well... I guess it kind of exasperated my headache a bit too, all of the pressure relief and then all of it coming crashing back in suddenly when he ran off and came back." Ugh.
She smiled at Kendra's awkward emotional reaction a little, wondering what was going on in that pretty head of hers. "Everything alright over there?" She asked in a slightly amused tone.
She thought a little over the next reply. "Hmm... Well I thought about going to university in the city, studying psychology or something. But depending on where I end up the volume of people might prove to be a big problem." She tilted her head back in thought for a few moments. "I wouldn't mind doing something music wise either...."
"That's a lovely idea~" She smiled for a moment, studying the girl's emotions. "You know... Usually when people feel emotions strongly around me, it irritates me a bit, especially considering a lot of them are aroused teenagers." She added, a lil' too much venom there. "But you're different. You're very genuine, it's very lovely. Radiant, even."

Bailey. Kendra thought. Gotta remember the name. Kendra wasn't sure how many of these adapteds were here in the mansion but Emily had said they. They have the power to cancel out someone's ability. Meaning there was more than one of them. Kendra sighed. Well no use worrying about it. Kendra stood up when she finished her coffee and moved over to the sink. She didn't know what the policy for chores around here was but she didn't want anyone cleaning up after her. She washed her mug and quietly hoped that her stray thought hadn't gotten her into trouble.
That's when Emily asked her if everything was alright? Kendra kept herself collected. Sort of. She was so neurotic that she mostly stayed inside her own head. Dream walking gave herself a lot of time to think, and since she normally didn't have anyone else to talk to she talked to herself a lot. It was a bad habit to break. Now she found herself arguing internally. Oh come on it wasn't that bad. So what? She's cute. A simple thought never heard anyone. Kendra debated as she washed the cup.
She set the cup down on a drying rack and looked back up at Emily beaming and smiling. She was in a good mood. She was thinking about this or that and trying to justify her own unfiltered thoughts, but she was inexplicably happy. She was in a new city, with no friends save for the few people she had met here tonight, but she was finding herself already attached to the place. Like it was a home she never knew existed. Powerful feelings those were when you get all attached to a home.
Then, just when Kendra had managed to collect herself Emily called her radiant. Genuine. It was enough to make Kendra blush all over again, but she didn't she simply smiled and felt the warm embrace of kind words. Kendra had a weird little habit of crinkling her nose like a rabbit whenever she was flustered. Her nose was going wild at the moment. She looked like that girl on bewitched. Only when Kendra crinkled her nose she tried to make her social awkwardness disappear. She wasn't upset or nervous. She was not shy embarrassed or even ashamed. She was simply infatuated with the girl who she realized by now she had spent the last hour talking to. Time flies when you're chatting away I suppose. She thought with a inward sigh and a heave of her shoulders.
"You uh... Care to take a walk? I haven't really got a chance to explore much'o this place yet. Plus I'm just itch'n for a smoke." Kendra's only vice besides being a hopeless romantic fool and reading trashy romance novels was her cigarettes. She moved over to the kitchen doorway. Kendra placed a single hand on the wood frame of the door and stared at Emily. Her eyes were soft and in the dimly lit kitchen may have even appeared pleading. She was enjoying the company and wanted to step out onto the grounds for a smoke and some fresh air. Besides being alone in a quiet room with a girl who seemed to know your emotions like the back of her hand was giving her ideas. She was a sweet girl. Very attractive, understanding. Kendra wondered how much of it was her reading her emotions and how much was her just being a good listener and being easy to talk to, but she still found herself intrigued none the less.

Emily chuckled again at the girl and her reactions, she tried to keep her own outward body language more neutral and friendly than teasing. But it was certainly an effort, the other girl was pretty shy and cute. She didn't want to make her too much more nervous given the shape the conversation was taking thus far.
She felt a little colouration to her cheeks as the emotions radiated from Kendra, it was clearly some thoughts along those lines being directed at her, but they were pretty innocent all things considered, and not driven by hormones like they were when she felt them from most students at the mansion, so that was fine by her. She smiled widely at Kendra.
Emily giggled at Kendra and smiled, finishing her tea and then moving over to the sink to wash up and put everything away. Emily was generally a messy person, but it couldn't hurt, and she found herself not wanting to draw the disapproval of Kendra. She as very very genuine and friendly, and Emily found that to be quite alluring and cool. Most people either tried to hide things from her, or otherwise disliked her for being an empath.
Emily chuckled lightly. "Sure, I could do with a walk, and I'm enjoying your company on multiple levels." She perked up and started walking with Kendra out of the kitchen, towards the courtyard. "I love your accent by the way, it's very pretty."

Stepping out into the courtyard Kendra was greeted by the brisk cold. An icy wind cut through her enough to make her zip up her hoodie. Kendra zipped it up and fished around in her pocket for her cigarettes. Dang! This might be the shortest smoke ever! She thought as the wind caused her to shiver a bit. Kendra lit up her cigarette and offered one to Emily. She didn't know if she smoked, but she offered all the same.
Slipping them back into her pocket Kendra took a deep drag. She had grown used to taking nightly walks. The feeling of the racing cold was deadened somewhat when she was asleep and dream walking. Stop being a baby! She groaned internally. Kendra blew out a cloud of smoke that wafted through her nose and mouth. The silver shroud almost seemed ghostly against the backdrop of the night sky. The moon was full and it cast a pale glow over the pale girls.
This was familiar. This was home. Being out and about in the middle of the night. The soft wetness of the grass beneath her. The smell of the night air and the droning of the nocturnal insects. The grounds of the mansion were huge and thankfully it was peaceful. There was no sounds of cars and motors drowning out the otherwise peaceful night. Kendra walked along the grass. Her sneakers making muffle rustling noises as her feet trailed through the damp lawn.
Kendra in her element was a bit wild. She was a party hardy type girl. Though this was usually buried beneath layers of doubt, self conscious ponderings, shyness and insecurity. The thing that she found most appealing about Emily was she didn't really feel like that around her. Sure, she was embarrassed when she made it painfully obvious that she was klutzy and accident prone, but she didn't feel that way by default. If she could only stay out of her own head for two seconds she was actually quite comfortable around the girl. Despite the fact that she could read her like an open book. It was that that sort of made it nicer.
Kendra hopped up on a little stone bench and tried to pull of a tight rope balancing act as she held her cigarette in her hand. Taking another puff she exhaled a cloud of smoke in a fit of laughter. "Okay girly. Ima test ya." Kendra was smiling. She was out of her shell and out of her head. It was nice to have someone who understood you. Even if they were using superpowers to do so. Women are such complicated creatures aren't we?
Kendra left the cigarette in her mouth as she spoke. The cigarette bounced on her lower lip with every word. Every other word caused streams of smoke to emerge from those pink pouty lips. "Rules. Ummm... I'll have three thoughts. You get three guesses. You can use whatever clues ya want, empathy, body language, facial expression. I wanta see if I can trip ya up!" Kendra said as she dropped off the bench and plopped down on the bench on her rear end. Ouch! That hurt more than I expected. She thought grumpily as she rubbed her ass that complained with a dull ache.
Another gust of wind blew and she felt bad bundled up in a hoody, while Emily was out here in her pj's. Kendra unzipped her hoody and took it off before slipping it around Emily's shoulders. "You don't have'ta if you don't wanna, but could be a challenge never know." Kendra said. Not only did Kendra feel like her and Emily had hit it off, but she felt as if she knew her, her entire life. Emotionally anyways. There was plenty of things she didn't know about Emily, but she felt in tune with her. That's what empathy can do. It was a powerful force of bonding.
Kendra took another puff of her cigarette and closed her eyes... "Okay. Let me think of somethang... Okay! Got it!" Kendra closed her eyes and thought about the time she first tasted pecan pie. That warmth spread through her as the happy memory took hold. The smell of it coming out of the oven, home made. The sweet taste of the first bite as it settled on her tongue. Kendra was smiling and with her eyes still closed she took another puff of her cigarette. "Any guesses?" She teased. She wouldn't doubt Emily guessing it. Even if she got close she'd probably give it to her, but she wanted to see the depths of her empathy when she really concentrated. Emily's ability was a bit of a shock at first when you weren't expecting it, but she did think it was pretty cool! As it was she was already blown away by Emily. Kendra loved Emily's ability. Even if Emily wasn't really a fan.
The cold was no longer bothering Kendra. She was concintraing on her specific memory and wanted to see if Emily's empathy could identify the emotion it envoked. Kendra was becoming more of herself around her. Slowly peeking out from her shell and realizing that like she said, Emily didn't bite. It was honestly hard not to be comfortable around Emily, when she literally felt like you're oldest friend in the world.
Somewhere off in the distance an owl was hooting. The crickets were still chirping loudly, but other than that it was silent. Kendra's eyes were still closed as she waited for Emily's guess. Most the other students and residents had by this point mostly gone to bed. Kendra and Emily were out on the lawn in their pajamas playing guessing games. And Kendra couldn't think of a single more practical use of her time.

It didn't take them very long to slip outside as a pair, Emily had hung around with quite a few people who smoked over the years. She'd been quite the naughty teenager, though generally speaking she didn't partake in tobacco, not on it's own at any rate. She felt the breeze roll past and shivered a little. Luckily it wasn't as cold as it had been, there wasn't any frost on the ground or anything at all anymore, but it was still cold enough.
A shake of the head followed Kendra's offer of a cigarette. "No, thank you." She replied courteously. She rocked on her heels lightly.
She tilted her head at the comment and nodded gently. A lot of kids at the mansion were confused or ashamed of their powers, or nervous around others. Emily was a little cautious for the obvious reason of how most people tended to react to someone who could tell your deepest kept feelings. But she wasn't ashamed. She actually liked the ability quite a lot and what it let her do, she just could do with a freaking off switch.
She tilted her head and eyed Kendra closely, studying her body language and her emotions very closely. She smiled after a few moments. "It's not very specific, but I'm guessing it's a strong memory. I don't think it was a romantic one, but definitely some strong nostalgia. Maybe your first time doing something you love, or eating?" She guessed.
She grinned at the other girl when she opened her eyes. "You have an absolutely lovely figure by the way~" She complimented sincerely.

She guessed it! Kendra was impressed. She took a final puff of her vice and tossed it aside. She didn't give it a second thought, as she tried to come up with a second thought. Kendra laughed out loud. She was pretty dam close. Not bad considering she wasn't a mind reader. Ok ok ok! She thought. Kendra opened her eyes. Then before she could gather her thoughts Emily said something else that caught her off guard.
"You have an absolutely lovely figure by the way."
Kendra blinked a few times. She didn't move or react. She simply blinked as if she couldn't believe it. Is she coming on to me? Kendra thought. Kendra was honestly flattered. She wasn't used to attention, or affection or even a kind word. She actually was reveling in the compliments. She had noticed the first one too! Though, she allowed it to go mostly as an innocent comment when she said that she had a lovely voice. Kendra tried her hardest not to blush.
"Ok. second round." Kendra declared. She mostly ignored the comment about her figure. She didn't want Emily to sense what she would have felt about that so she chose to feel nothing about it. She occupied her mind with something else like her second guess. Though honestly, she found her mind swifting back to thoughts of Emily. Focus girl! Get'chur mind out the gutter!
Kendra closed her eyes again and began to think of the first time she took a photograph. It was when she was younger. A friend of hers, one of the few she had, had gotten her a camera for her birthday. Kendra could still remember the first photograph she had ever taken. It was a picture of a soft fluffy cloud. She was about six years old. She remembered it so vividly because the cloud looked like a smiley face. She liked to think that it was her mother on that cloud up in heaven smiling down on her.
Kendra was filled with the soft warmth of remembering her mother. She didn't know her mother. She died during childbirth, but she had seen pictures. Many pictures, she often used to spend hours imagining what her mother must've been like. Those were happy memories as well. Kendra thought intently about the smiling cloud and about her mother. "K. Whata'my thankin?" Kendra asked. Kendra already had her third question prepped. It was probably going to be her happiest memory yet.

Emily grinned widely as Kendra went through a little rollercoaster of feelings. She really was an extremely emotional person, which was interesting because usually people like that were uncomfortable to be around, or didn't deal with all of the feelings particularly well, but the Southern girl seemed to just go with the flow where that was concerned. It was really a really attractive trait to a potential new friend for Emily.
Emily had to suppress a near laugh at Kendra again. She'd caused some confusion beyond just the normal embarrassment, did Kendra assume Emily was hitting on her? That was an amusing thought. Emily wasn't really attracted to anyone really. She'd come to terms with her sexuality and figured she was either A-sexual, or Demi. She found it hard to imagine being attracted to people when you could sense their every emotion.
She shrugged a little more at this one. "Uhm, I guess it's got the same kind of mix as the last one, but a little different. So a happy memory, but not something relating to food? I guess maybe a present, or a happy memory with a friend or family member?" She chuckled and shook her head. "It's not really accurate to thoughts, it's a lot more raw."
Kendra laughed and gave Emily a playful punch in the shoulder. She was still sitting on the stone bench. She tried to compose herself. She didn't want to give out easy answers. A thought struck her and her grin spread from ear to ear. She was suddenly over come with a beaming flood of happy thought. Though, it was not an exact science. Emily would probably sense excitement. "Ok. Last go'round."
Kendra closed her eyes. She steadied her breathing. The smile faded slowly from her face to be replaced with a look of tranquility. Soothing thoughts slowly gathering in her mind. Kendra started to see images flooding into focus. Soft fingers grazing up smooth skin. The feeling of her fingertips connecting with the warmth of another. One hand wrapped around someone's waist pulling them closer. Kendra could see herself allowing her head to tilt back as soft lips pressed into quivering flesh. The beat of her quickening pulse beating rapidly into pink soft lips. Kendra could not feel her own pulse rising as she imagined this. She was biting her lip now as she focused intently on what she wanted Emily to sense.
Her eyes were still closed as she pictured hot breath on her skin. She pictured the warm soft embrace of someone kind, someone who didn't judge her, someone who could understand her constant flood of emotion. Then, one single image filled her mind and caused the smile to rush back to her face. The thought to kissing Emily's lips. That one commanding, domineering laser focus so strong it was enough to make her nose crinkle a bit. She was trying to relay to Emily, that.... Well that she liked her. She didn't give Emily a chance to guess. A single hand rushed up.
Kendra's hand grazed across the soft elegant curves of Emily's slender neck. Her fingers curled around the warmth of her cheek. Kendra's eyes opened for a moment as she moved forward swiftly. Without thought, only raw emotion. The raw unchecked emotion of a passionate impulsive fool possibly making a mistake like a girl in one of her romance novels. It was hard work keeping all this suppressed for this long and even if this was a single moment shared between them, it was worth the risk. For in that moment Kendra felt as if she wasn't alone for the first time in so long. She felt like, there was someone who could relate. Swept up in a flood of emotion, powerful, distinct and unmistakable Kendra pressed her lips to Emily's in a tender kiss.
Kendra pulled away after a moment and lingered. Her lips inches apart from Emily's.... Dead quite. "Could ya tell what I was thanking?" She asked innocently in her sweet southern belle accent. Kendra's heart was pounding so hard she was glad she was seated. That was..... Bold. She had never been much of a risk taker in her life. But she figured, some things were worth the risk.

Okay, so Kendra was trying to trip up her power and was quite well demonstrating that it didn't work all that well when people were actively trying to trip it up. Mind you, if they were trying to hide feelings that wouldn't actually work all that well, she sensed pretty much everything below the surface. But a single thought could have many different emotions tied to it, and as a result they were hard to judge.
She concentrated pretty hard on Kendra for a few moments before she started to peel away at the emotional layers and... Well. Kendra was... Emily shook her head a little for a moment and tried again just to make sure that she wasn't completely off on that one. Nope. She was not, Kendra was having very not PG-13 thoughts.
Emily then realised a second thing. These thoughts, were being directed at her. Right, well she'd dealt with simple arousal or lust after her more than once, but this wasn't what she was picking up from Kendra. This was quite simply... More than that. It was a mixture of emotions, all doused with affection. And they'd only met like, an hour prior to this part of the conversation that was going on, it was actually rather peculiar.
Her body froze, her face felt a little cold but her lips still moved. "Well, I think.... Urm- Well that is, I think you're feel-" SMOOCH!
Suddenly there was kissing. It was unexpected but... Well. Emily had always felt like kissing was a gross thing. She like some romance, she knew that love was wonderful, actually her favourite emotion to experience. This felt... Well, it kind of felt like that but watered down? A kind of very sweet, genuine and true affection.
She melted into the kiss with a kind of affectionate readiness, but her inexperience quickly showed. When they parted she let out a few low pitched noises, like a fish out of water gasping for air. "Hmmmurmph" She stayed like that for a minute or two, completely silent.

For the longest time Kendra simply sat there. She didn't dare move, or speak. She only soaked in the intensity of the moment. She could feel Emily's breath still on her lips, still inches apart. She watched the confusion wash over Emily's face with absolute delight shining in Kendra's big brown eyes. "Stumped ya!" Kendra cried. It wasn't all a game. There was real feeling there, but her goal was accomplished non the less. Kendra's frivolous goal of trying to stump Emily was secondary now. The smile faded again. Replaced with a soft look of curious pondering.
Kendra studied the war of emotions raging just on the surface of Emily's beautiful features.
"Hmmmmmmmruph."
Kendra burst out laughing. Kendra threw her arms lightly around Emily's neck and hugged her. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean'ta make you busta gasket!" Kendra was still laughing when she let go. She could see the wheels turning as Emily tried to process it all. That was perhaps a sneaky sneak attack but she didn't regret it. Kendra pressed her fingers to her own lips. They still felt warm despite the cool air of the night. Kendra couldn't help it. And she was right. The third thought was her favorite memory. More special to her than her first slice of pecan pie, and left a bigger impression on Kendra than seeing a smiling happy cloud. Kendra was a bit smitten if she was being completely honest with herself, but she didn't want to impose herself on Emily if she wasn't into it.
A harmless kiss had been stolen and she still seemed flabbergasted. Kendra turned her head to the side wondering if she had broken Emily. "You alright sugar? You look a bit rattled. I really didn't mean to sprang that on'ya.... I just..... Well.... Ima bit impulsive you should know that honey." Kendra laughed harder as she sat back down on the bench and waited for Emily to crash from whatever emotion she was riding.
That was intense for Kendra. She couldn't even imagine how intense it was for Emily. Or if it was at all. Did Kendra's emotion dwarf her own, in feelings that vivid? Kendra wasn't still 100% sure how it worked, but she imagined that Emily had to process her feelings and then process her own as well and really take stock of things.
"Don't be mad'at me. I couldn't resist." She said finally, as she wiped away tears from laughing so hard. She was finally starting to settle and waited for Emily to finally speak.

So that kiss kind of broke Emily's internal wiring as it were. She wasn't expecting it, she hadn't been sure how to deal with it, and she'd reciprocated it. And it had felt good. Like, really really nice. She was a bit confused, and a little excited, and her heart was racing and her brain wasn't working and ughhhh. She'd just sit there for a few moments while Kendra laughed at her a little and checked she was okay.
She knew she was being laughed at, but she was just too focused on Kendra's emotions to notice much of anything else right now. Kendra was really pleased, and not really at all embarassed like Emily currently was. What was that feeling on her face? Oh. She was blushing really, really hard. Her cheeks hurt a little bit. She probably looked like a complete and utter dork under the circumstances, she looked up at met Kendra's eyes again.
She wasn't really looking at Kendra on a physical level as feeling her emotions. Being that close to someone and sharing such intense emotions with them was quite a unique experience, that was for sure. Emily hadn't ever felt anything quite like it.
She gently trailed her slightly cold fingers up Kendra's sides, her nails trailing, followed by a lean in with another kiss, she was inexperienced, but she made up for it with her raw emotion.
