The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Um... All of them?" Abby asked in response to the first question. She never really paid much attention to what classes were available. She just went to the ones that were on her schedule. "Well, no, not all. I have a free period every day now. I didn't last year. Hmm... I have math and history and English and science and art and gym and then the free period."
School wasn't something Abby spent a lot of time thinking about. She did work for her grades but after studying or doing homework, she typically went to do something else. Her studying of history this summer was mostly due to how poorly she had done in the class last time. The little blonde didn't want to get a failing grade. Not when she lived in the school. She was also pretty sure Cafas would be disappointed. And Serena. And Maya. Probably Sam too.
>>"So you're looking for ways to make money? What kinds of things would you consider doing?"
Abby hadn't actually thought about what she'd like to do to earn money. Thinking about it, helping on the grounds, while fun, would be something she'd have trouble with due to her size. She didn't know how the pool was kept clean, but she disliked the chemicals in the water enough that she probably wouldn't like to help put them in the water. What would a adult need help with? Sam probably needed help with all the paperwork she saw in his office. "I like spending time with Doc. And I'd like to help around the offices if I could," she decided. Doc could probably be considered one of her first friends here. And every time she went into an office, there was loads of papers every where. "Are there things like that I could do here?"
Juliette leaned forward in her seat, trying to hide an obviously excited smile. For some reason, she liked the idea of finding Abby a job. She had liked Abby instantly, but she hadn't expected to react like that to something as simple as finding her a job.
"There are tons of things you could do," she smiled and nodded encouragingly. "I know that Sam has a ton of paperwork that needs some sorting, or you could help me organize some things in the infirmary. That way you would get to hang out with the Doc a bit. Or if both of those sound horrible then I'm sure that there are lots of other things that could be arranged."
She wrapped her hands around her coffee mug and took a sip, trying not to stare down the girl in front of her. A thought ran through her head that she considered silently. She sort of missed helping people like she did when she was a nurse. She still got tastes of it, but it made sense as to why she was so interested in being helpful.
Plus, having an adorable extra set of hands around the infirmary didn't sound bad at all.

The list Juliette gave wasn't that long, but it made Abby smile. If she, an adult, thought there was a chance for the little shifter to work around the school. Helping Sam would always be something she wanted to do. Serena talked about him a lot. And Doc was the first person she trusted here! She would really like to repay him for being so nice.
"What if I wanna do them both?" Abby asked quietly.
Most of the time people had to choose these kinds of things. But Abby really didn't know which she would like more. Picking up her fork, she began picking at her breakfast, trying to figure out which she would enjoy more.
Juliette grinned and sipped her coffee after hearing the little girl's response. How on earth someone had managed to raise a kid that polite and adorable, she would never know. Excellent parenting skills, maybe? Those were hard to come by, it seemed, but a possibility.
"Well, if you think you have time, then I'm sure they would both appreciate your help," she told Abby. Juliette knew full well that she was probably making herself entirely redundant (after all, who would want her help if they could have Abby do it?), but it seemed worth the risk of unemployment.
"Do you want to go talk to them?" She offered, checking her watch. It was rather unlikely that they would be awake, but it was worth a shot, at least.

Abby blinked. Did she say 'both' would? She might not have to choose?
>>"Do you want to go talk to them?"
"Do you really think they'd both say yes?" she asked quietly. She really wanted to help out around the school. It had helped her so much since she came. "Will you come with me to ask?"
"Probably, and of course," Juliette grinned. She couldn't say no to that, and she doubted that Sam or the Doc would be able to either. They would have to have some sort of mutation to be able to. Besides, she had her own selfish reasons for wanting to go with Abby. That much cuteness needed to be cherished.
She stood up from the table and began to walk a at slow pace in the direction of the hallway so that she could be sure Abby was following. "Who do you want to talk to first? Sam's probably in his room, and Doc Prof is probably either in his room or in the lab."
She turned to Abby to see her reaction, not wanting to force her into anything she actually didn't want to do.

Abby scrambled to follow the nice woman as she left the table. Her food forgotten for the time being. She didn't think she could eat much more right now anyway. Her tummy was queasy.
>>"Who do you want to talk to first? Sam's probably in his room, and Doc Prof is probably either in his room or in the lab."
The doctor or Sam... Abby thought hard for a moment, her face scrunching up in thought. Doc was nice and he didn't mind her coming by... but there was more chance of someone else being there. Sam was more likely to be alone. And he had been really good about helping her with her fighting before.
Nodding in certainty, she turned to look at Juliette. "Can we go see Sam first? Please?"
"Sure," Juliette grinned at Abby's politeness once again. It was like something out of a book. Too sweet to actually exist in the real world. "Follow me."
After allowing a few extra seconds for little legs to catch up, she made the quick trek through the foyer and up the stairs to where Sam's room was. She stood in front of it and made sure that Abby was there with her before poising her hand to knock.
Juliette stopped suddenly and then reconsidered, dropping her arm to her side. "Would you like to knock?" She asked Abby, not wanting to drive the train too much for her. It would, after all, be Abby's job that was ultimately being acquired.
She was fully aware of the very small amount of sleep that Sam got, but it was still very early, and she didn't want to assume. But then again, she also didn't want to see the little girl disappointed. She pursed her lips for a second, about to tell her to knock quietly, but then changed her mind. She could always apologize after.

Abby did her best to calm down. The idea of working with Sam had been something she had been thinking about for a while now. When she first met him, his office was so cluttered. She had felt bad afterwards, for interrupting him while he worked.
She was a step behind Juliette when they got to the door. Her tummy was doing somersaults.
>>"Would you like to knock?"
Not really. But this was something she should really do on her own. Abby nodded jerkily before moving the half step to knock. She cringed at the louder than expected knock she made. She had hit the wood a little harder than she probably needed to. The little blonde shut her eyes and forced herself to not move.
She really wanted to hide behind Juliette now. But that wasn't a very "mature" thing to do.

Sam’s eye was heavy as he leaned back in his big comfy chair. He yawned slightly and then proceded to put his hands behind his head. The chair took Sam’s weight until it started to push back from the springs. By that time Sam’s feet were on his desk making sure not to dirty any paperwork.
The frio-mancer knew he had a lot of work to do but it could wait. He didn’t sleep much anyways and for a while people have been telling him he needed to get more sleep. His eyelid grew heavier and he shut it completely after another yawn.
He was out for a second then heard the knock at the door. He jumped up as if it was a gunshot and he looked around. The chair fell behind him and he jumped again when he heard it. It took him a second to figure out what was going on. He then yawned when he realized he was alone in the room. ”Open!” What time was it anyways?
Bending down and picking up the chair he looked to some of the paperwork that was now cluttered from the brief ruckus he caused.
There was a loud bang, followed by a yell that the door was open. The word sounded sort of muffled, like it was coming through a yawn. He must’ve fallen asleep in his office again, she figured. Juliette made a mental note to remind him to sleep better. And in better locations.
She got the feeling that Abby was very much out of her comfort zone, so she opened the door herself. She did not expect to see what was behind it. Sam was bent over, picking up his chair that was, for some reason, on the floor, and the rest of his office was in worse shape than usual. He looked exhausted. It was likely a very good thing that she was enlisting the help of Abby. He could definitely use it.
Juliette put her hand lightly on Abby’s shoulder to usher her inside, and entered the office herself. “Hey Sam,” she began slowly, “Abby has something to ask you, but… Is this an alright time?”

The bang from inside the office had Abby taking half a step back. It was probably a bad time to ask. But before she could say anything to Juliette, the woman opened the door.
>>"Hey Sam, Abby has something to ask you, but... Is this an alright time?"
"We- I can come back," Abby stated. She didn't know when she would return to ask but she would. Probably drag Serena with her but she would.
Though his office did look like it could use some organization. She wondered what all the different topics for the paperwork there were. School things and X-Men things probably. Would she be able to help with the X-Men things? Or would that be something she wouldn't be allowed to see? School things could probably be set in places like administration, classes, students, and living. If that was the kind of paperwork Sam got. She should probably not make plans until he let her help.

”I’d have to have a real bad day to not have any time for you.” the icemancer said maintaining his cool as he continued to pick up the paperwork. Throwing it on his desk in no particular order because there was no order to begin with he raised an eyebrow and looked to Abby who seemed as reserved as she did the first time the met. ”No worries. I was slee- doing paper work.” the icemancer said looking to Juliette with a little smirk then back to Abby, ”I hate paperwork.”
Scooping up some more papers and letting out a small yawn he waved his hand to the two ladies, ”Have a seat. What can I do for ya kiddo?” the cyclopean X-Man asked as he stood up with the rest of the papers and dropped them on his desk as he sat back down in his far to comfy desk chair.
Juliette raised an eyebrow suspiciously at Sam as she walked farther into the room and took a seat in one of the chairs across the desk. His slip-up was telling; he had not been doing paperwork. The mountain had definitely grown since she had last been in there, and there was even less order than before. On one of the forms, there was even a hint of a footprint.
“Well, paperwork is actually one of the reasons for Abby wanting to speak to you,” Juliette started the conversation for the little girl, recognizing how shy she was, and that she was probably very nervous. She hoped that by starting on the topic, she could get Abby to say the rest without prompting. After all, there wouldn't be someone to guide her when she was actually doing the jobs she was hoping to get.
She gave Abby a reassuring smile and placed her hands in her lap.

Abby looked between the two adults in the room. They kinda reminded her of Mommy and Daddy. Huh...
>>”No worries. I was slee- doing paper work. I hate paperwork.”
Well that was encouraging for her. The pile of papers on his desk definitely looked like they could use some help. Then Sam would probably have more time to relax. He looked tired. If he didn't want her to help, she would have to remember to tell Serena so she could do something.
Abby followed Juliette in and stayed standing by her side. She knew she would be fidgeting if she sat down. Standing allowed her more room for movement. Though it also let her run easier. No, bad Abby. No running from Sam.
>>“Well, paperwork is actually one of the reasons for Abby wanting to speak to you."
Deep breathe. "I was hoping I could," she paused. How do you phrase a request for a job that technically didn't seem to exist? "IwashopingIcouldworkforyouandhelpwithyourpaperwork, like a job." After getting her words out, fast and probably not very understandable until the end. Green eyes held shut with the best of her ability being used to not scrunch up her face.
