The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>>"What did I do? To make you hate me?"
Astrid let the silence settle for a moment as she chewed the sandwiches. They had really hit the spot in her stomach, and it growled with pleasure. It had been far, far too long since she had eaten a decent meal.
After a second or so, she finally spoke. "Why you need know? You annoy. That all." She shrugged her shoulders and took another sandwich. Far too much talking already. That was all the little harpy needed to know.
She took a large bite of the new sandwich and let her eyes move between Abby and Serena, watching what would happen. It wasn't like she had said something particularly cruel, but she also wasn't being kind or helpful. She had been nice enough to the pair already, though, and doing something like that would completely discredit everything that she had worked so hard for.
Serena gave a little sigh again at the two teenagers. "I don't think either of you really hate each other, you just had a bad experience with one another." She added to the conversation, taking another drink of her beverage. She didn't comment that she thought they were far too young to actually hate anyone, she would keep that little bit of the conversation to herself.
Serena glanced between Abby and Astrid thoughtfully, it was odd the way that they paralleled eachother in some ways, but acted differently in others. She assumed it was mostly down to upbringing, Astrid seemed like she'd been on the streets for a while, while Abby had probably been treated on the whole much better than the winged girl.

She annoys? That's why Astrid hated her? She annoyed her. That... Abby inhaled slowly. Then let the air out of her lungs in a long exhale. No point in getting into a fight with the winged girl. The little shifter continued eating her sandwiches, letting her silence fill the space instead of replying.
If Astrid thought her annoying, best to not annoy the girl further. She still remembered those crystals from before.

Well that certainly shut up the little harpy. Astrid smirked at her, having begun to think that there was no way to close that annoying little mouth flap of hers. She stuck out her tongue at the tiny figure and then continued to take from the large pile of sandwiches.
God, they were so good.
She glanced at the door quickly. She had gotten what she had come for, so there was no real reason to stay for anything else. It would be quite evil of her to abuse the kindness of a stranger and then take off, too. She grinned widely at the idea as she chewed.
