The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

I very much like the idea of a 'fake' future, where it's one big illusion, and we gradually 'break' the illusion, and return to 'normal'. Anyone understand what I just said? because I'm not sure i do lol
Ok. I’m finally getting down to putting my two cents into this idea. I’m with you gues and am very excited about it. (There you go. My two cents.)
To be honest I am all for just having the characters that are involved wake up one day and just be in the future without a memory (Or at least a proper memory) of what has gone on between the time they go to sleep in present time and the time they wake up in the future. (Hope that makes sense.)
I even started typing up some ideas for what would have happened to Sara in the future that she would wake up to. For instance her having taken the cure and becoming normal for this plot line. Unfortunately I am afraid that if I do that I might end up distancing my character from the others in the seens. Both IC and OOC. However I am also fascinated with the areas I could explore with my writing with her, as her future homosapian self. So it is still up in the air what I will do with Sara.
Ok. Now that I’ve typed a nice long post, There’s my input on what we have so far. I’m in.

Like ted, actually I was thinking it's not a fake future. It's a real future, that could happen. It could possibly be your chracther's future? Also, I was thinking in the end,we go back to the past when Deja dies. Then that could revert the powerful mutant plan, or maybe not. Like, in this plot, no one wins! Like just my opinon
I also like thinking of this was a real possible future. That's what's making it such an intriguing idea, for me--our characters will get a preview of what life could be like, if they took a certain course of action. But if they hate who they are in the future, it would also give them reason in the present to change themselves.
In short: this plot line is the best excuse to develop our characters' personalities that I've ever seen, and it promises to be very challenging to all of us, as writers.
well i've been thinking it over and actually having memories would be so much fun, and it the posibilities for power inprovement are endless. Such as Geo finally having control over his powers, and Riggs being able to produce a massive shockwave with the snap of his fingers. From the looks of it this plot is a good possibility good idea Dreamy.
I'm leaning towards having us start out with all our future memories, just 'cause I think the shock value for everyone else reading about our characters is too much fun to pass up. Which is to say: dropping everyone else into our advanced characters, but having the character acting natural about it all, would be quite amusing.
I can't remember who said it, but having the idea of having them then realize something is "wrong" and gradually figure it out... I quite like that. I'd rather not have our powers fade with our regain of our "real" memories, though, because it would be kick-butt awesome to have a final fight scene where we're all using our advanced powers.
And now i add my thoughts in. It is an awesome idea and Calley's idea *looks above* is perfect. This will allow us to devolop our charries in more ways then we thought possible. I likes
An idea that came of talkin' to all the folks in the Cbox, and is sort of a melding of a few peoples' ideas:
What if it wasn't a baddie at all who was using Deja's dreams--what if it was simply someone who was trying to show us what the future could be like, if things keep going like they are?
Perhaps in the future, something really bad is going down--like a war, or a pre-apocalyse sorta deal, or Em's idea for the evil human scientists. This person is showing us the future because we have the power to stop it.
Just as an add-on to that: I would be against having mutants enslaved in the future, since that's so similar to the current plotline.
I like the idea of this being a real possible future- one that we can learn from. I think that would fit really well with the idea of the mutant trying to show us what our future could be, and giving us the power to change it (especially if we are currently on track to have something really bad happen, and seeing the future in this way lets us change it so that doesn't happen). There could also be a lot of personal choices involved in deciding whether individual characters like where their life is headed.
