The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

((this is the quarry if you are assigned here report here))
In the field next to the punishment circle lay hundreds of rocks laying strewn throughout it. Each mutant was either assigned to break the rocks in half with a pick Axe which would shock them if they slowed down or attack a guard and the other job was to place these broken rocks onto the truck to be shipped out.
It was a Co ed job, though it was likely that the women would be stuck carrying the rocks instead of breaking them due to their 'low upper body strength.'
Well, unless they where Emerald Lupin of course.
Despite the fact that Emerald had more lower body strength than upper, her upper body strength was still a force to be reckoned with. One would just have to ask James the guard as Confirmation on that.
The wolf girl was given a pick Axe and told to start breaking the rocks. She rolled her eyes and swung the pick Axe down, hard, splitting the rock in two almost instantly.
Emerald kept this up, sweat starting to pour down her face after the 20th rock. The pick Axe was very big and very heavy and not all the rocks could take only one swing from the wolf girl some required two or three. That would mean she would be out here for hours upon hours.
However, this was among the first rocks and her first she still had to break at least 100 more rocks for her quota to be done and for her to be able to go back to the barracks. That is, unless a guard took her first.
Ted made his way to the quarry, in the tow of a guard/tour guide. After being shown most the way, the guard shoved him forwards and stormed off in search of some non-working mutants to hurt. Ted went into the quarry, and was assigned a pick axe. He made his way to the stones, and judging from the other mutants present it seemed that they were to break the rocks. Simple enough. Heaving the pick axe, he started smashing rocks with ease, working his way through them. From the sheer scale of the task before them, he could tell that whoever designed this had chosen to use the most amount of rocks possible. It would take them months to go through them all.
But Ted persevered, smashing through rocks, and earning a fair number of looks from other mutants as they struggled with the heavy pick axes and large rocks. But soon his hands were raw, and he was coated in sweat. Panting, he slowed down, only to get shocked by the pick axe. Jumping in surprise, he continued smashing through rocks, and by experimentation he was able to discern the slowest he could go and not get shocked. Working this way, he was able to keep u a steady pace, as he knew that they had a while to go before they got a break.
Shya hadn’t been at the camps that long. Only just being shipped in from the city. Shya had turned herself in late, in hopes of making life easier for her family. She’d just come from the dressing room, experiencing three guards helping her with her cloths, not even one was needed. She cringed the entire time, but complied with the ways she was lead, relying on her captors to show her where she should go.
A shrill ladies voice instructed her that she was to go to the quarry first. Then grabbed Shya’s arm, shoving a long stick in her left hand, and began hauling her to the quarry. Well this was helpful, sort of. Shya did her best to keep the tip of the end of her stick out to warn her of obsticals, hidden in her world of darkness, but the impatient guard wouldn’t wait long enough for it to do any good and Shya ended up tripping several times. Only to be hauled to her feet again and dragged on.
The sharp beats and tings of the work at the quarry came louder and louder. She pin pointed each worker in a map in her head, and noted the different speeds each rythem came to her at. The guard pulled her forward suddenly, laying the blind girls hands on a truck. Showing her the height, and the sides, then shoving her hand so that her fingers dragged across the side to the back where she was to be loading the rocks that the others were breaking. She gave shya her instructions. She’d be collecting stones and loading them in the trucks. Shya’s head dipped down and nodded when she thought the guard was finished. Su[rised when he grabbed her chin and pulled her un seeing eyes in his direction. “I said did you understand me.”
Shya was surprised, wanting to pull back and stumble but his grip was too tight on her chin. Leaving red marks where his finger tips were. “Yes sir. Yes I understand.”
The guard sneered though Shya couldn’t see it she could imagine the look from practice. “Good” He thrust a sack in Shya’s empty hand and shoved her in the direction of the other quarry workers, where she began sliding her finger tips across the sandy ground, looking for the broken stones to be loaded into the truck.
Ted glanced up as a new mutant was brought into the area. He was then shocked by the pickaxe and was forced to carry on working. But he kept an eye on her, as he wondered why the guards would trust her with a stick. But after they left, and she felt her way along the ground, he understood why. She was blind. He felt an instant pang of sorrow for her, and despite the exhaustion and the sweat he slowly made his way towards her, smashing away at rocks as he went.
When he was close enough, he whispered to her, hoping that she had the usual amount of heightened hearing that blind people seemed to be compensated with. "Hey there. Want me to help you out?" He picked up a few rocks, loading them into her bag before his axe started shocking him and forced him to start breaking them again. "Just stick near me, I'll try and keep an eye n you." He meant it in a friendly way, but because of her disability it struck him that it may not have been the greatest of wordings. But he was then forced to return his focus to the task at hand; breaking things.
She could hear the pick axe coming down on each stone Ted hit. Acting like a sonar for her, though not perfect, and telling her how fast he was walking. She was just scooping up a few more stones, and preparing to move out of his way, hopefully not in someone else’s way, when she sensed his movement had stopped.
"Hey there. Want me to help you out?"
Shya’s head lifted slightly. Turning her chin, up and in the voice’s direction. “If you can help.” She stated. Her eyes blinked. “I don’t want to be a bourdon.”
Her finger tips found a few more stones, as she felt this new voice, dropping a few more in her bag. It was already half way full. Then she heard the light buzz from the pick axe, cringing.
"Just stick near me, I'll try and keep an eye n you."
She nodded. “Thank you.” A small smile crossed her face. “And I could return the favor.” Not intended as a joke but it could have been. “My name’s Shya.” She said sliding her fingers across the ground where she thought she heard some stones fall, then finding the jackpot and scooping them up into her bag.
Ted nodded. "I'm Ted." He continued smashing stones, and using his foot to slide the broken bits closer to Shya. "So 'm guessing you've got a mutant power too, huh? What is it?" He made sure to keep his axe moving. If he slowed it down for too long, then the shocks might well build to be enough to trigger hiis mutations. Not a way to keep in the guards' goodbooks. Relatively speaking.
She scooped up the next set of stones. Thanks to Ted they were getting easier to find. I’m Psychic, but not strong. Mostly just empathic.” She replied finding her stones had reached the hem of her sack. Her fingers slid across the edge of the bag and she found a way to tie it shut. “I’ve told you mine, so what is it you can do?”
Emerald noticed the girl that was brought in, being able to tell various things by her scent. It was one of the things that werent dampened by the collar. Fear was the obvious one, but then again everyone who was in the quarry had that scent on them, also slight helplessness and nervousness.
Emerald managed to move closer to Ted, still swining her pick axe down, she had managed not to get shocked. The wolf girl was doing alot of the rock breaking with just a few swings getting out her anger on the pieces of slate.
"This is fun isn't it? Breaking rocks?" The wolfess smirked as she broke another one, panting lightly. She felt a slight shock go through her and she grimaced. "This definantly what I wanted to do when I woke up today."
She was breaking the rocks into smaller pieces then she had before, making them alot easier to pick up.
"Two Wolf people breaking rocks, this should go well."

Just as they were talking, the tip of a shadow touched theirs, but they did not notice anything till suddenly a long shadow eclipsed theirs, and a voice spoke. It was a chilling voice, and it’s effect was like someone suddenly speaking next to your ear when you least expect it, his voice was not loud yet carried very clearly to all three people. They seemed startled by it. “This is not a place for chatting, you two rock breakers can work faster than that, I have seen your pace when you first started. Ill have you two watched closely.” The next instant the shadow vanished, leaving in its wake traces of fear, uncertainty, and a sense of lack of privacy.
Ted grinned at Emerald at her remarks, and was about to reply when he felt a faint sense of inpending doom. Then, they were eclipsed in shadow and a chilling voice spoke clearly to them.
This is not a place for chatting, you two rock breakers can work faster than that, I have seen your pace when you first started. Ill have you two watched closely
Crap!! What the hell was that thing? But Ted decided it was probably best to do as the scary voice said, and well and truly ruffled, he sped up his pace. He used more force now, and with most rocks he was smashing them into several managable pieces with one swing. He still tried to slide the rocks closer to the ones picking them up, and then tried to experiment. sing his good knowledge of physics, he tried to find the best angle to smash rocks so that the pieces slid towards the collectors. After a few tries, he was getting the hang of it, and it was something slightly less tedious for him to do than just swinging aimlessly.
Shya heard the coments about the other two being wolves. Well that sort of answered her question. It would have to do as she felt the air and attitudes change.
“This is not a place for chatting, you two rock breakers can work faster than that, I have seen your pace when you first started. Ill have you two watched closely.”
Shya listened. Fingers fumbling about the bindings of her sack before she stood up to find her way back to the truck. That stick tapping the ground just in front of her toes. She pushed her sack of stones in place on the truck where the Guard had pushed her hands, then returned with a new bag. Looking as though she had regained some of her composure. Beginning to show some of her faith again.
She returned to the other two, continuing to slide her fingers across the ground for those stones. Listening to Ted’s progress quicken. “I heard what he said,” She spoke softly, hardly above a whisper. “But think about the long run. You don’t want to hurt yourself to death.”
The young wolf girl rolled her eyes as the voice stated it's piece behind her. The Lupine female growled lowly, tail lashing back and forth as she continued at the pace she had been at before. She watched as another rock split into four pieces beneath the swift swing her pick axe.
When the girl spoke about them worrying about the long run the wolf girl mainly smirked. "I am to stubborn to die and way too stubborn to let a bunch of fleshbags with shiny toys kill me." Emerald replied with a light laugh.

Ted's mood lightened slightly at Em's stubbornness, she should be able to keep the girl's morale high, well, when she wasn't breaking rocks. Come to think of it, he wasn't sure how many girls he knew were there, nor how they were doing. It just now struck him that this was a golden opportunity to discuss plans/pass information between the two sides. "Hey Em," he whispered, "how are the girls doing? Do you know how many other mansion residents you've got with you over there?"
Shya gave a smile at Emerald’s comment. She began to start gathering stones where she had been working before. Finding her way by memory. Her fingers found the growing pile of rocks, thanks to Ted, and she began scooping them up again.
She listened to the boy’s voice, though he hadn’t told her his name yet, she was sure she’d be able to recognize him from across the room. And she did want to hear about the other girls in the camp.

Shawn showed up at the quarry only to get an axe shoved in his face. He took it with a look of disdain and walked close to where Ted and a few other mutants were. He started working a little slowly and got a shock. It surprised him a lot and he sped up a bit. The silver on his body soon glissened with sweat and he started to tire. He wasn't really into the conversation, he was just glad to have something to do.
He saw Emerald there and said "Where's Raina and the rest of the girls?" He was particualarily interested in her because the last time he saw her she was in very bad shape, bruised and beaten, and had that collar around her neck.
