The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Night was falling as the women separated into their own small groups to have the bit of chat time they could before 'lights out'. Tricity gave a small grin to Emerald as she slipped off the bed and went over to talk to Isabel. The shift was changing outside as the guards began to switch. Tricity turned her gaze to the campers and silently cursed their situation. She felt hot tears fill in the back of her eyes as she thought about her son. Her eyes quickly closed shut and she laid down on the bed, forcing herself to swallow her emotions.
There was a sudden hush on that side of the room which Tricity noticed and she opened her eyes again, sitting up on her elbows. James had come. She'd heard of this asshole from some of the other women, including those in their small circle. A few of the girls seemed to be approaching him. 'This doesn't look good...', Tricity thought sliding off the bed and slowly walking over.
James was smiling from ear to ear with such a confidence it made her stomach knot. She noticed Isabel's twisted face and knew whatever was about to happen, it was probably going to land her and a couple of the others in isolation plus whatever other punishment the guards felt like giving out. Just as expected, Isable swung at James, connecting a good hit. Tricity quickly moved forward to try and stop the altercation, wondering how long it would take for the guards to noticed the scuffle.
(OOC: Tricity has yet to be in isolation. I can use this as a way to get her to talk with the higher-ups as we move on with the plot and begin assigning people for certain tasks for the resistance in the camp.)
A vicious little grin twisted Isabel's features as she felt flesh, cartilage and bone crack and shift beneath her clenched fist. Her grey outfit was messily speckled with little crimson drops as blood sprayed from the guard's face. She hoped with all her being that she'd at least broken the creeps' nose. He'd at least have to go to the infirmary to get it checked out. Maybe they'd use all kinds of stinging antibiotics, and even a needle. A needle getting stuck into James' greasy face would be icing on the cake. She already bet that this little stunt would land her in Isolation, but it was so worth it. Any chance to break some guard's bone or impair him somehow was well worth whatever came out of it for her. Well, at least in her opinion it was. She didn't really care what happened to her, just as long as she got to take someone out on her way there. As her momentum slowed, the fist she'd contacted with uncurled and flexed, as the opposite fist tightened, preparing for another swing. However, James got there first with his left hook. She had to duck to avoid being hit full force, though he did just barely manage to cuff her slightly, throwing her a bit off balance. Now, without her mutation, Isabel had lost some of her agility and flexibility, but it hadn't left her completely. Continuing in her off balance crouch, she planted one hand on the ground to steady herself and swung out a leg, trying to knock James off of his feet.
Unfortunately all things must come to an end. Isabel's end came in the form of a firmly pressed button on a handy little remote held in James' hand. Figures, in Isabel's haste, she'd completely forgotten about the damn thing. She really did need to learn to think before just jumping into things. Even slow learners learn eventually. Isabel was usually just too damn stubborn and set in her ways. Immediately she dropped the rest of the way to the floor, the arm cuffed with the bracelet held out away from her body, as if it could lessen the amount of electricity pumping through her system. Her fingers curled, her limbs twitched unrhythmically and her back arched. Her mouth opened and she nearly screamed before the sound caught in her throat. At least it was better than locking her jaw and possibly biting down on her tongue, risking the chance that she could bleed to death. Her eyes bulged and stared with utter hatred at the man with the remote, as if by sheer will power she could rip him apart bit by bloody bit. Yeah, this guy had definitely slid to the top of her list, right after the Stalkers. The big mechanical reptiles which she hoped would remain wherever they were and not come slithering into the barracks. It was bad enough she was getting herself fried, they didn't need those buckets of bolts interfering as well. And yet even in her extremely unfavorable position, she was still trying to come out on top. Little by little she was trying her best to command her arm to stretch and latch onto the closest bit of James she could possibly reach, attempting to give him a nasty shock as well.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
Amp watched the spectacle from her bed. There had been a time she would have gladly joined in the fight, simply for the rush of vibrations they brought to her, vibrations that, up until a few days ago, she craved.
But now, any vibrations that reached her came with a side effect, an echo of another's presence inside her body. She shivered. She couldn't seem to get warm any more, no matter how many blankets she wrapped around herself. As she watched the two Lupine sisters curl up together, tears slid silently down her cheeks. She curled into a small ball, trying her best not to move in anyway, to not draw attention to herself.
She longed to sleep, but feared closing her eyes, should that ugly face intrude on her nightmares, as it had done every night since she returned from the Infirmary.
As James's fingers stroked her cheek, Neena resisted the urge to lash out and bite them off. Instead she continued to smile, and replied, "Excuse me, but I took a shower not long ago."<"Though now I feel like I need another one.">
She saw Isabel coming and her smile widened ever so slightly. She didn't flinch when the first hit connected, nor when James hit his remote, dropping Isabel to the ground.
His back was to her. She debated briefly with herself about whether to interfere or not. It wouldn't be long before the Stalkers or guards entered. That would make the fight unfair.
Another motion twitched in the corner of her field of vision. Tricity was approaching.
Neena pushed off of the door and made like she was going to pass by and intercept Tricity. However, as she moved, she bumped into James's remote hand, hard. She flailed out to catch something to regain her balance. She just happened to catch the side of James's collar, pulling him with her as she fell to the ground, at the same time aiming so he'd land within Isabel's reach.
"Oops. My bad." Her voice held not a single shred of remorse, nor did the easy smile still pasted to her face.
The entrance of a battered Ruby changed the tone of things in the barracks dramatically. After Neena turned to Nika and asked if the ame thing was happening to her the cat girl nodded.
"Yes, I've been going through similar experiences but I've never been around James. The guards that have been abusing me have been making me into they're personal slave and if I refuse to do something then they shock me until I pass out only to wake up later hurting in certain places."
Nika folded her hands together and placed them between her thighs which she then squeezed together as if she was trying to fold in on herself. She felt violated but yet the frequecy of how many times it was happening made her start to feel like it was becoming normal. That's what scared her most. So she could relate to what Ruby told Emerald but she didn't have family to comfort her. All she could do was grin and bare it, and push the emotions deep down even though she may become an emotional bomb someday.
Things were calming down as the Lupine sisters layed down to rest. That is until a human male came into the barracks. It didn't take long before Neena pointed out who the guy was and not much more longer before Isabel had started a fight and was now on the floor bein shocked. Nika heard Tricity and saw the head mistress trying to stop the brawl. Neena suddenly tripped, but it didn't seem like a normal fall. It kind of appeared deliberate as she ran into the James fellow and knocked him down by Isabel. So far there was no sign of more guards or of Stalkers, but Nika remained where she was. At least until things got worse.
(*Inserts as many James related Jokes as possible.* Hope it’s follow able. If not. PM me.)
James would have cracked a smile when Isable fell face first, shaking with electricity. That is he would if there wasn’t the possibility of the ridge of his nose having cracked. HOW dare she! How dare one of the mutants even think they could… His eyes darted around and for a split second, maybe it was the grey uniforms, but he remembered the volunteer work for the girl scouts.
the girl scouts
Little snotty faced girls containing gigley, giddy smiles, as they worked their badge earning magic on deflating his dignity. An old memory drifted in front of his eyes as he remembered something about a fire that flickered out of control once. Kind of the way Isabel shook uncontrollably on the ground. Instinctively he stomped down where the flames in his head came close to him, incidentally around the place where Isabel’s hand reached for his foot. Stomping harder and harder with the rubbery bottom part of his uniform boots. Determined to put out that flame.
No way was he going to the doctor again. Not after the last time with his mysterious rash he’d gained in the camps. Suddenly he reminded himself he wasn’t in with the girl scouts anymore and the room came back in focus. Though, after a split second pause, he’d decided to continue stomping. I mean the mutant down there had just given him a bloody nose.
Anyways back to the thoughts of the infirmary. The best nurse there chose only to sympathies with these freaks and there was no way he would go back after going in for a mysterious Rash. Weren’t g-strings suppose to prevent Rashes is such areas? Maybe if he started changing his underwear daily the rash would go away but until then, the young nurse asking him to 'turn his head and cough' would be haunting every one of his thoughts.
Suddenly the skinny little lady blocking the door was walking around him. Drawing his notice to another mutant he had never met before. Was she really trying to break things up? Distracted, and hopping on one foot, his balance was easily lost when the cluts grabbed his collar and together they hit the floor.
Slowly Isabel was curling into herself, trying to bring her knees to her stomach and her unbraceleted arm in toward her chest, as if doing so would somehow lessen the pain she was currently in and stop her from twitching so violently. You'd think that after living with these shocks for a good handful of weeks, you'd somehow get used to them in your own way. Well, you'd be wrong. Isabel still hadn't grown used to the feeling of being electrocuted. The skin beneath her bracelet burned, her muscles ached and her limbs hurt where they struck against the floor. She could see the ugly bastard looking down at her, and she just continued to glare back up at him, her fingers just nearly brushing the tip of his boot. Just a bit closer, and maybe she could give the repulsive human a nice zap. She'd much prefer it if she could make him bleed again, but electrocution would be the next best thing. If only he would stop pressing that damn button maybe she could catch her breath and then make sure his nose had been broken, as well as a few other bones. The finger pressing down on the remote would be the first she'd break, then the rest of his hand. Let's see him try to shock anyone with his hands all wrapped up in casts.
Blackness was just starting to eat at the edged of her vision, and her perception of the room and the face above her was becoming blurry and unfocused. And then she was acutely aware of a sharp pain in her hand, bringing her right back to a fuller consciousness and unsticking the scream from her throat, the high pitched shriek piercing the air as the sharp pain struck again and again. Frantically she tried to pull her arm away from the source of the pain, but with the volts of electricity pulsing through her body and causing her muscles to move on their own, it was much more complicated than it should have been. She could feel the crunch of bones as her fingers shifted, popped from their sockets or broke. She was also vaguely aware of the feeling of skin splitting where her hand was crushed between his boot and the floor, blood leaking out into a luke warm puddle around the appendage and splattering onto her bracelet and any nearby articles of clothing.
And then just as suddenly as the sharp stabbing pains had begun, the sudden jabs of pressure on the digits ceased. A loud thump caused Isabel to turn her gaze back toward James as he hit the ground very near to her. Any closer and it was very likely he could have landed on top of her. Another scream escaped Isabel's throat, though this one originated from pure rage, rather than pain. The bastard was so close. Were it not for the remote, by this time James would be dead three times over in her mind. Pulling her injured arm close, cradling it as best she could despite the violent jerks her body was still influenced by, she tried to reach out her uninjured hand and touch any bit of James she could get to. She was determined to give his guy a taste of his own medicine. Let's see how he liked getting shocked.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.

ooc: Im just continuing this from the scales thread assuming Raina has been gone for a week or so since it's been a while since she's posted in this thread
ic:
Raina was being escorted down the halls by the same two guards from the lab. She'd been gone over a week since her mutation decided to change. There was something different about her. Though she was still thin and pale her body was toned and somewhat muscular. Her eyes were no longer sunk in and the gray was as icey as ever. It was as if the mutation gave her body a second wind.
The guards stopped at the sound of a loud noise coming from the women's bunks. They fumbled for their respective weapons after freezing for a moment. Everything was silent and they let themselves down. The door to the bunks swung inward and without any lights neither guard could see what was happening. A little bit of noise was to be expected. "It's lights out." growled one of the guards giving Raina a shove. "Tell your little mutant family to be quiet."
and that was it. No second look to see James or the others. The door slammed shut behind her and Raina stood completley still in the darkness for a moment. The guards were getting tired and lazy in the duration at the camps. It would be their downfall.
As Raina's eyes adjusted to see some girls in bed and Isabel on the floor next to James. It didn't take her long to realize what was happening. With renewed strength she stamped her bare foot with an unsuspected force on James wrist allowing Isabel to get the remote. She glanced to her left and saw Tricity standing tall.
Raina liked Tricity though they hadn't met often, and she respected the woman. She kept her foot on Jame's wrist but watched Tricity for any sign of an order. She didn't flinch, just let her eyes drift a moment to see Neena.
Raina's entrance distracted Neena as she sat up. Between her chores and filching activities, she hadn't yet found an opportunity to ask Raina if she was allright. Sara had told her about the mermaid transformation. However, something did seem different.
At the moment though, Neena didn't have time to figure out what it was. Raina's foot came down on James' remote wrist and stayed there, but Raina was looking at Tricity, not Isabel, who was within a few inches of reaching James.
Without a word Neena pushed to her knees, reached up and gave Raina a hard shove in the small of her back to knock her forward. Forward and away from what looked about to become a two-way shockfest.
Or possibly a three-way shockfest; Neena came back down with her wrist on James's ankles.
These woman were tough. James had to give them that. Particularly the one occupying the floor at his feet. Experiencing the electrocution. Oh and what a special that had been to watch. If it wasn’t for the chance he was paid to make such entertainment, he’d of gladly paid five dollars on the street for such a enlightening performance.
At least things were fun up until he’d been knocked down. And now this little girl was reaching for him? Still? He moved to kick her hand away only to be distracted by yet another lady stepping on his wrist. What was this? Team up on little ol’ innocent James night? Come on! He was just doing his job. So what if there were a few quirks he added to his work day like the purple game. One had to have fun with what they did or life just wasn’t worth living!
For a split second his hands went numb where his fingers gripped the remote and that salmon colored button. (that’s right. The red button on his remote had turned the manly shade of Salmon!) Out of no where the cluts appeared and pushed the second girl off of his wrist. Ah relief! Sweet relief… That is until….
A sudden ear piercing shriek filled the womans’ barracks, making Sara’s ear’s flick back to try and block out the noise. A second, maybe two, later, James realized the sounds was coming from him. His own mouth. Some where along the lines his finger lifted off of the button on his remote, as he cussed and tried kicking Isabel and Neena farther away from him.

Ooc: awesome post
ic: Raina was sent flying off James and sprawling toward the floor, again being rather out of character she caught herself without too much humiliation and spun around back on her heels. Neena had pushed her. Why had she done that? It didn't take long for it to make sense when Jame's screaming pierced their ears.
Isabel didn't even see Raina come into the room, nor would she have paid much mind to her even if the woman had caught her attention. She saw James, she saw the remote and her own hand reaching for the worm's throat. That was enough at the moment. Oh and that throat was so close. Just a little closer and she'd have him. The first kick aimed at her was a miss, which the young mutant was thankful for, or at least would be once she got the chance to take a moment and be thankful. The last thing she needed right now was to be forced away from the man sprawled on the floor. Especially when she was so close. If only she could stop her limbs from jerking around so randomly, everything would be going so much faster and smoother for her. It didn't help that her hand was throbbing painfully, and the jerking of her body kept sending sharp jolts of pain into the torn flesh, the wounds achingly screaming their demands for her attention. Isabel was ignoring everything as best she could. She knew a trip to the Infirmary would be needed after this little incident, but she was pushing that all to the back of her mind. Everything was second in importance next to causing the guard even a small amount of pain.
A sadistic little grin spread its was across Isabel's features when her fingertips made contact with foreign flesh. Immediately she applied more pressure to her touch, digging her nails into the skin as far as they would go, and then trying to force them in even farther. And that high-pitched scream of his was just priceless. If Isabel could have managed to laugh at that point, she would have. And then just as quickly as it had gripped her, the electric shock dissipated. Every one of her muscles ached, and she just felt tired all over. An exasperated sigh escaped her as she relaxed for a brief moment before realizing that her movement was now fully in her control. And that awful little grin of hers made another appearance as she shakily rolled on her side, nails still digging into James' flesh as she worked to catch her breath. It wasn't long before that breath was pushed right back out of her as the guard's boot managed to catch her between the ribs and she was forced in the direction his leg pushed. She tightened the grip she had on him as much as she could, doing her best not to be forced away too far. She had the bastard in her grip, she wasn't about to let him go just yet. Shifting up to her knees, Isabel pulled herself right back up to James, ignoring any pain her hand was in and tried to wrap her hands around his throat and choke him until her stopped moving.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
Sound caught in Neena's throat as fire coursed through her body. The initial shock only lasted a few seconds, until James let go of the remote button. But the resulting 'vision scrambling' sent a secondary shock right behind the first. She hissed loudly.
She felt a sharp pain in her upper arm, then another in her back as James's kick connected and sent her into a nearby bunk. Caught in a momentary cycle of cross-wired vision problems, and an over-reactive bracelet, the rest of the scene was momentarily lost on her.
James gritted his teeth hard, as the current stopped coursing through him. A satisphied grin spread across his face as he saw his boot caught both ladies in the ribs sending them back. First the yonger girl, Isabel, then the dark skinned one with creepy eyes, Neena. Problem was he couldn’t seem to shake the younger one from her grip and those nails of hers were sharp. An uncomfortable sound, strained, from the back of his throat as he tried to kick away once again, not connecting or making any head way.
She came forward and Jame’s scooted back on the floor trying to keep his vital areas out of the girl’s reach. Surprise had replaced the self confident jack arse look that was there a minute ago and he really didn’t want to be caught up in that mutant’s hands. His finger twitched for the button but she was still in contact with him and he really didn’t want to be shocked again either. From a sitting position he brought a boot up and sideways, aiming to bring the rubber bottom of his boot across Isabel’s face, knock her side ways and away from him so he could safely shock her again.
