The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"He'd be glad to hear that, sir. Thank you," Mike said, his tone conveying what an important thing compliments regarding his grandfather were to him. Fortunately, though, he was saved from further awkward conversation as paparazi soon separated them from the movie legend.
"If that wasn't so awesome, I'd be mad at you for pulling that stunt," Mike teased as they walked on.

"Oh come on!" Daria laughed as they made their way back down the red carpet. "you couldn't be mad at me if someone paid you tripple times what you're worth."
She entered the car first and slid over for Mike. "I'm hungry..so this next part may be more for me than you." she teased.
"I can live with that. Where are we going, and how well are they supposed to cook their steaks?" he grinned, slipping in next to her. They had an entire stretch limo... and here they were, taking up less than two people's seats.

"Steak? goodness, heavy meal. I figured we'd order soup and salad." she laughed. Daria had never eaten light on a date to impress anyone, but she'd hardly had time or opportunity to date with her lifestyle. She was pleasantly reminded that she was only hiding ears and tail because of other people not because of Mike and that made her happy. She kissed him.
The limo was headed towards more crowded streets and taller buildings. The lights made it seem like it was day.
"Please, like that'd begin to fill me up. You've seen me eat," Mike teased before kissing her back.
"Y'know... for being the center of all that's supposed to be soulless in the entertainment industry... this city really is beautiful," Mike mused, smiling out the window once the kiss was broken.

Daria laughed. "I've never noticed it before, Mike...you're REALLY sarcastic." she giggled.
"It's pretty cool, yeah. I mean there's so much life here. I still like New York..however, I don't miss DC one bit." she laughed, she found that fact amusing.
"It's a nice place to visit... but there's a little TOO MUCH life here for my tastes," Mike shrugged, leaning back into the seat again, and kissing her cheek. "Nothing like a city that never sleeps to play havoc with a psychic's mind. You think it's coincidence that Xavier didn't set up shop out here or in the middle of the city?"

Daria's ears twitched despite the pins. "I would say I'm glad I don't have that problem but I know what you mean. whenever there's alot of actions, the sounds give me a headache but you wouldn't believe what smells do! I mean, tonight for instance...I could smell everyone's perfume and cologne at once. It was horrible." she shook her head and laughed. "it stings, like if someone were to spray air freshener directly into your nostril." she said.
Mike winced, making a mental note to be very sparing with the cologne from now on. "I just realized how unpleasant it must be after everyone comes out of a long Danger Room session..."

Daria laughed gleefully. "Oh, one person isn't all that bad whether they smell good or bad. But yeah...gym class at any school I attended growing up...hell in a locker room.
The limo slowed to a stop in front of a huge building that looked like it was practically made of glass. it was a restuarant called 'The Elite Star' and it was as hard to get into as it's name suggested. The building sparkled like crystal in the street lights; a long line formed around the block-a line they'd be skipping.
"Leave it to California to make me feel poor," MIke joked. "Wow... and here I thought you did your homework with the theater... if the food tastes half as good as this place looks, this is going to be great."

Daria grinned as they left the car. She hooked her arm into Mike's and led him to the front of the long line and through the glass doors.
The maitre'd smiled. "Daria!" he said as if he knew her, and it appeared he did. "Daria, I saw your name on the list but I didn't think you'd be here." They kissed upon the cheeks.
"Hello, Amond, this is my Fiance, Mike."
"Fiance? The last time I saw you you were only 16! Now you' have a fiance? My goodness." he slid a hand through his black hair. "the dye covers alot but I must have so many grey hairs!"
He held out his other hand to Mike. "You must be happy, you're about to marry one of the prettiest girls in the world."
"Not one of," Mike corrected, shaking his hand. "THE prettiest. I don't settle for anything less, and I had the means to check," he grinned, putting his arm around Daria as he spoke. He looked between them. "How do you two know each other?" As far as he knew, Daria had grown up right there in DC, but then again he didn't know where she'd traveled to regularly.

Amond looked around and then looked at Daria, who gave her consent with a slight nod.
The man spoke in lower tones. "I had a bit of trouble with one of Los Angeles' notorious street gangs, I was completely innocent and it was known so, however, in a place like this they sort of run the streets. Before, when I opened my restaurant they kept vandalizing it and every morning I would find lude writings on what was left of the glass windows." he seemed slightly sad as he spoke this last part. "Finally, I decided I needed help but this was beyond the hands of the police; they were being paid off by the gang themselves. And so I turned to the only other person I knew who could possibly help me and that was Linda.
"She knew something to get the gang in so much trouble that it would go over the Police's heads and straight to the supreme court, I don't know how she got the information, or even if she ever had it but Daria came as her messenger and...fixed things somehow." he laughed. "The details are vague; they're secretive, Linda and Daria." he smiled.
"Yes... that they are," Mike agreed, shooting Daria an amused look. "I've given up my hope of ever learning everything about my mysterious little fiance... she'll keep pulling surprises on me- ME!- for the rest of our lives."
