The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The cork popped out, and he let the glasses pour themselves as he lounged back in the seat, one arm around Daria to hold her close to him. He took one glass out of midair, the other offering itself to Daria. "A toast, maybe?" he asked, smiling slightly. "To many, many happy years to come?"

Daria grasped the glass gracefully in her gloved hand. She fought the urge to squeal in delight at the 'many, many happy years to come' comment. She was still a bit over excited about the wedding.
Instead she settled for the tried and true approach. She touched her glass to his and smiled. "yes, to many, many happy years. I love you, Mike."
Mike smiled, taking a drink of the champagne. Then once Daria had lowered her glass, he leaned in and kissed her, tasting the lingering taste of the drink in her mouth. "God, I love you," he whispered, smiling as he pulled away, taking another sip of his champagne.

"I hope you make me blush like that forty years from now." she smiled and sipped her champagne again. " I still like milk better." she laughed.
The ride took a little more than thirty minutes but they were boardering Old Hollywood as it was called by the natives and their limo was pulling up to a huge theater. It obviously used to be a playhouse but had been turned into a movie theater. Cars lined up in front of the place and paparazzi was swarming; celebrities on the screen and off were attending the event.
As their car passed the signs along the drive way to the red carpet event, one could see that they read "Hollow Crossings", the name of a movie about the holocaust Mike had been raving about.
Mike couldn't speak. He just looked at Daria, grinned, looked at the theater, grinned wider, looked at the crowd they were rubbing arms with, grinned even wider, then looked back at Daria, grinning as wide as he possibly could. "You. Are. The best. Fiance. Ever."

Daria couldn't help it, this time she did squeal and clap her hands together. "Yay! Fiance! I'm knew you'd like it. Aren't you glad I didn't tell you???" The car pulled up the carpet and the driver made his way around the car to open the door.
People were bound to recognize Daria because of the growing popularity of her restaurant, and Mike because of his grandfather so, even without having their mutations known they were boardering on fame.
"Very glad," Mike grinned. He knew that there would be some eyebrows raising at the two of them, though he wasn't so full of himself to assume that any flashbulbs would flash their way. Still, he knew he didn't have to worry about that, either... he'd talked to enough of his grandfather's friends with the right spin doctors, and had gotten everything surrounding his grandfather's death smoothed over extremely well. Unlike Daria, he was a very, very publicly known mutant to anyone who knew of his family... but at an event like this, no one was likely to start anything, and he wasn't about to start anything either.
Putting on a good show-smile, attractive but not over-excited, he exited the car, doing the reverse of his quick jacket-unbuttoning flick as he offered Daria his hand to help her out of the car.

And the camera's flashed however no one attacked to ask questions which Daria was happy for because Linda and everyone who worked at the restaurant were particular about her handling public affairs since she was so young.
She took Mike's hands and they entered the theater, the lobby of which was crowded.
"I think I see Denzel washington." Daria said in a low, loud whisper which was comical while she squinted through the crowd.
Mike smirked. "Yep, right over there. And over THERE is Steven Spielburg... Good god, who ISN'T here? This... wow, I haven't felt this 'over my head' since coming to school..."

Daria laughed. "oh..my god..." she paused concentrating hardly on not wagging her tail, a funny habit she'd picked up from Emmy, much more dangerous because her tail was much longer.
"Daria strong, right?" some one said behind her. She turned to face Tyler Perry, a famous playwrite, director and producer as well as the man behind the dress of the famous southern character Madea. He was a very tall person and she looked up in amazement for she was a huge fan of his work.
"Yeah..." she said without thought. He held out his hand laughing, "Tyler Perry nice to meet you. Your restaurant is open in Georgia, we had a cast dinner there the other night; the food was magnificent. Is there one in new york?"
"...under construction..." she said softly in awe.
He still chuckled good naturedly. then he looked at Mike. "Micheal Asters. I've heard alot about you." He held out his hand.
"I hope you won't hold half of it against me, then," Mike smiled, shaking his hand. "And I have to admit to being a fan of your work," he added with a smile. He resisted the urge to use his power any more than gleaning from the top of his mind what it was that he'd heard about him.
"I couldn't possibly use it against you. When I'm not on screen or behind the camera I'm part of a Mutant Rights Activist group." He handed Mike and Daria business cards. "We sure could use two advocates like you to represent the good side of the 'x-gene'."
Daria nodded. SHe and Mike had spoken a bit before his Coma about getting involved in something like that. "I'd love to..." she said, her voise still small and a bit shocked.
He smiled and nodded once at Mike before joining a few of the cast memebers from his latest movie to take photos.
Daria finally exhaled. "OH MY GOD! That was Tyler Perry!!!"
Mike grinned. "Evidently, we're famous," he teased, kissing her cheek as they walked on. "Now as long as we don't get any Scientologists trying to rope us in as mutant spokespeople, we're golden."

Daria laughed. "Famous? Ew." she teased and walked toward the balcony where they would be sitting to watch the movie. It would be a while before it started and their balcony was private but unless they wanted to stand around and watch the crowds mob the real celebrities; they had nothing else to do.
Mike walked right alongside her, not at all disappointed to be getting away from the crowd. It was exciting, but as ever, he'd be much more comfortable with a little time to get use to it from a distance. And, of course, he could do with a little privacy with Daria.
