The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ty acted fast when the man reached for the scissors, but not as fast as Megan. First, the silk hit the man in the eyes. Second, Ty's free hand shoved him into the chair behind the desk, and pressed the knife's blade to the man's throat.
"You regret that now, dontcha?" Ty hissed, his inner hatred for this man bubbling to the surface and taking over the normally laid-back and easy-going Fish. "No. You only think you do. Just wait til we get done..." After he finished, he looked at the silk, then at Megan. "Sick..." He smiled evilly. "But awesome. ****ing Awesome~"
Well... Ty seemed like he had things under control. At least for the moment. He turned to look back at her, and she cracked a grin. "Not gonna lie. I like you better like this."
Smile still in place, she wandered further into the room and closed the door behind her, locking it.
"I'm not going to tell you #$@%^&* anything!"
He didn't squirm though, not with a blade tucked into his neck. Chuckling, Megan flicked the lights on and glanced around the room. It was plain. A studio apartment with a small bed in one corner a desk in the other, and what could be considered a tiny kitchenette in another. Her eyes landed on various things she could use for defense, or as a weapon, and she stored the information away.
"We don't really need you to talk." Ty could always just touch him or whatever and use his cool mutation to find the info, probably. "...But, because you were such a bastard we're gonna make you talk anyway."
Shifting into a comfortable stance, she crossed her arms over her chest. "Oh... and I wouldn't try that body snatching thing you do. I won't hesitate to take off some fingers if I need too."
Her children started up the legs of the chair he was pinned in, chattering silently to themselves.

"You would," Ty quipped with a smirk, the blade of his knife still resting firmly against the man's neck. One may have found it odd that he was using his small pocket-knife with the tiger on the handle, but his stiletto was made for stabbing.
"As for you..." he looked back to the guy, in their mercy. "She's right you know. It coulda been sooo easy...Come in, touch a few things...go about our business, and you about yours. But now...you're gonna siiing like a canary..." He pulled the stiletto out with his free hand, flipping it open.
Still blinded, the man couldn't really argue. Well, not effectively. He could, and did, pitch a verbal fit. He also refused to move his hands from the arms of the chair. "Here, let me help you..."
So... Megan joined Ty, and helped him along with it. A few quick strands of silk effectively stuck the puppeteers hands to the table securely, and surprisingly Megan easily overpowered him. Given that he often fought his battles through other peoples bodies, his own mortal vessel wasn't required to be very physically fit.
With his hands more or less glues to the desks surface for the moment being, she reclined against it and let Ty do his thing.
Ty gave a disgruntled sigh. "You know, the more you fight, the more we're going to make you suffer. And the more I'm going to enjoy it. How fast this is over depends on you being a good little ***** and playing nice. Understand? Now...you are going to tell us about your boss. Namely, where we can find him." Removing the blade from the man's throat, Ty set it on the table, to focus on the weapon in his left hand.
He touched the cold steel to the man's hand, then stabbed the desk in the space between Gipetto's right thumb and index finger. Not enough to sink into the wood, but enough to make an ominous Thwak!
Ty then pulled the knife back, Thwak! hitting the table between the man's index and middle finger. "I've never actually played this game before. How fast do you think I can keep this up? More importantly...what happens if I miss? A puppeteer without fingers sounds...interesting."
The man shrieked and struggled to free his hands. Thanks to Megan's special kind of silk though, he wasn't going anywhere for a long time. The second time the knife came down and embedded itself in wood, the mutant had decided he'd had enough.
"He's Three blocks down from here! Marvin lives in Apartment 16, third floor of the LaFayette Condominiums! He should be there right now!" The dark circles under his eyes seemed darker, cheeks more sunken, as he searched both of their faces for any hints of pity. "I was just following orders! Please, you have to believe me! You can't do this to me!"
Megan's icy eyes met his, her face void of any expression save a small smirk. It wasn't the desperation plain on his face that got to her, nor the fear in his eyes. What got to her eventually were the thoughts going through her own head, and how much pleasure she was ultimately getting out of it. She was envisioning all sorts of things she could do to the man. What would bring the most pain without ending his life too quickly. People usually did pretty well with broken fingers and toes. Same for ribs, if you them in just the right spot. Pure agony without the threat of puncturing a lung. There was always the pelvis, too. She'd used blunt force in the past to shatter those delicate bones, knowing full well most people would never be able to walk right again, at least not without a successful transplant.
It wasn't something she ever put a lot of thought into. She picked her targets based on what crimes they had committed and the punishment they received was planned out and tailored specifically to them... but when the time came she didn't put much conscious thought into what she was doing, or how much she'd started to enjoy it. The realization of how much it was affecting her physically brought her mind to a sudden stand still, and she faltered.
Her heart was racing. Her skin was tingling. Adrenaline was pumping through her system like she'd just run a triathlon. A scowl settled on her face, and she drew the knife from her boot. "See... was that so hard?" Leaning in closer, one arm snaked around to tug the guys head forward, while with the other hand she slipped her knife deftly into his neck. He gasped; she jerked once and quickly severed his spinal cord.
Stepping back and sighing, she sheathed her knife again. "C'mon. Let's go put Marvin out of his misery."

Ty smirked as he got his info. "Heh...Lafayette...reminds me I need to call a friend of mine." He looked back at the man. "Thank you for your cooperation." With that, Ty thrust the knife downward one last time, hard, resulting in another Thwak! and a piercing scream.
Then...Megan got ahold to him. "Damn, girl..." he murmured, cleaning his knife and putting it back in his pocket. "Yep. Right behind you. Let's go end this. If we time it right we'll be just in time for breakfast. I'm feeling pancakes," he said as he turned for the door, ignoring his body's soreness and screaming for food right now.
Fighting back a sudden wave of dizziness and weakness in her knees, Megan set about checking his pockets. She found a small keying, a cellphone, and a wallet in an inside pocket of his coat. Inside she found his real identity; Wilhelm Drogher, age 32. Tucking the wallet back inside the pocket, she checked the cellphone next. He'd made one call out, received one call in. On solitary text message sat in his inbox. An ominous 'I got them'.
Keeping the keys, she put the phone back where she'd found it, called her spiders to leave, and headed for the door. "It's possible he was lying to us." She cracked the entry door open and peeked out cautiously into the hall. The other denizens of the building didn't appear to have stirred at all, at least not as far as she could tell. Stepping out, she waited for Ty to join her before closing the door behind. One of the three keys on the ring locked the door, the other two she was curious about.
"Can you get anything off of these?"
Why did she feel so drained all of the sudden? Her mind was clouded, it was a little harder to concentrate. She passed it off as side effects from using her power too much in such a short time span, and headed back down the stairs.

"It's possible. Thing about lackeys though...it doesn't matter how much you pay them, how well you treat them. Their personal being is on the line, they squeal like a cut piglet. Unless there's a personal bond there or something like that." Ty took the keys, then stretched with a resulting pop of his shoulder.
"I'll see what I can do." Removing his glove, he touched the first key. "This one goes to a safe deposit box. From what I can tell he keeps some nice trinkets in there. May be worth a look after this is over, and I could call my guy and see if there's any money in the stuff." He took a breath, a cold sweat breaking out on his forehead.
"Now...this one." He held it in the palm of his hand, focusing. It was harder this time; his head was pounding and he felt weak. "This one...Lafayette Condominiums. It saw the sign at one point...and Room 16. Looks like our boy was not only close to the target, but he was telling the truth...slimy little dog..." Suddenly, Ty leaned against a wall for support. His face was pale, and he was trembling, broken out in a cold sweat, and his icy blue eyes were bloodshot. "****...I really outdid myself tonight..." He mumbled.
"Whatever's in there, consider it yours." Taking the first set of stairs two at a time, she hit the platform below and winced as her abused stomach complained. As much as she hated to admit it, she was in the same boat as Ty. She'd pushed herself too far with her mutation, and taken one two many good hits for one night. She wasn't about to let it stop her, mind you. But she was definitely feeling it.
"I'll be good as soon as I get to cave that assholes head in." Her partner explained the other key, which she was happier to hear about. Puppet man hadn't been lying, surprisingly. He died after giving her the honest to god truth, and even thought it had been in a desperate attempt to save his own skin, it made her feel like her choice to kill him quickly had been the right one.
Stopping to cast a tired, questioning look at Ty, Megan forced herself to wait. She was anxious to find Marvin, yes... but she knew she couldn't face him alone. She was strong physically, and capable in most situations... but when it came to mutant trickery she was a little lost. Unless she could manage to find a roof within view, and put a chunk of lead in his head though a scope, she didn't like the odds of her squaring off against him mano a mano.
"Lend me your arm." Reaching out, she offered her shoulder for him to lean on. They would both move faster if they leaned on each other, anyway.

Ty gave an understanding nod; he knew Megan wasn't in this for any money, just the gratification that came with taking a thorn out of her side. He said nothing as he made his way down the stairs. Unlike her, he took each step one at a time, carefully. He was sure his head was going to explode if he used his mutation again tonight. Putting the glove back on his hand and the keys in his pocket, he continued on, finally reaching the bottom of the stairs.
He had no clue how they were going to take this guy down, especially not tonight. Silently, he gave another nod, approaching Megan and putting his arm around her and leaning on her, so she could lean on him in the same manner.
