The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Normally Megan wasn't one to seek help for her own jobs. It was much easier to get in and out with just herself and her spiders, than it was for her to try and drag someone with her. (Not to mention getting shown up by someone tagging along with you. Tch, how embaressing)
But... this was an unusual circumstance. The 'job' Megan was dealing with wasn't an easy one considering who she was going after. This one just happened to be a mutant-- most of the others occupying her list were human-- but this one was particularly foul.
He was the one who'd gotten her in contact with the doctor who had changed her appearance. Now, she wasn't sour about that; it had actually been favorable for her. No, this wasn't personal, or revenge motivated. This was about justice (believe it or not). The Doctor hardly lived up to his name. He was a horrible, foul excuse of a being and in her mind that meant he needed to be wiped off the face of the earth. He used people. Toyed with mutants and humans alike, and had been blackmailing her for more than two years. But, the Doctor was far to powerful for her to go after.
The mutant who'd taken her to him was just as bad, however. He preyed off of the weak and needy in order to fill his own pockets. Looking back, she should have gutted him right then and there when she had the chance. He was some sort of illusionist, so she had no idea what his real face looked like. She didn't know where to find him, or how to get into contact with him. All she had to go on was the last to locations where she'd met him before.
Thankfully for her, Megan knew someone who could help. He'd be her ace up the sleeve, and she was sure with his help-- if he agreed to help-- she'd be able to track the tricky bastard down.
.... Maybe that was why she'd stalked Ty for a few days, tracking his movements once she'd learned from roach where he lived. Perhaps that was also why she'd waited until night to maneuver her way up to his bedroom window, and why she was currently inching his window open as silently as possible before letting herself in.
When had she transformed into such a creeper?
Plopping down on the windowsill, Megan let her eyes adjust to the dark and ordered a handful of spiders to go wake up her sleeping prince for her.

For once, it was late at night, and Ty was sound asleep. No roaming, no random trouble-making today; straight to bed as soon as it got dark. Then again, with everything the boy had on his mind, whether wondering if a certain water-manipulator was a one-time thing, or his episode of deja-vu in a random thrift store...well, the ginger had a lot on his mind. And eventually, restlessness tends to wear one out, some more than others. Ty's had finally caught up to him, and he was out cold, sleeping like a baby, holding his covers tightly.
His dreams weren't quite as peaceful. It started with reliving visions of his Aunt's death, both courtesy of two 'witnesses.' The first of which being the murder weapon itself, the day Ty discovered his mutation. The second was more recent: a ceramic Noah's Ark that he'd stumbled upon in a thrift store not too long back--and broke it in the process. Then suddenly...
...crawling. He could have sworn he felt something crawling on him, but for now he was too asleep to care. The dream shifted to a vision of his mother, blonde hair, blue eyes, caring smile, and a face he never once remembered being truly angry. But she was suddenly torn away into a giant tornado filled with semi-trucks, liquor, and...
Spiders? No...no spiders. Another blond flashed before him. Pretty, even with her scars and tough appearance and attitude. One that felt affection, even if she didn't always return it. Someone Ty would have given his own life for, but in the vision, Ty saw his own, green-glove clad hands pushing her away, into nothingness...
Ty's eyes slowly opened, the crawling sensation more powerful now, but as he awoke...it was real...Spiders?!? The last time Ty'd encountered spiders, he was drunk, and thus didn't care at the time. But now, he was sober. Letting out a very feminine, blood-curdling scream, he jumped, falling off of the bed and leaving the covers behind.
Catching his breath, he flicked on the lamp, and was startled even more, not by the spiders, but by the familiar figure on his windowsill. A light blush tinted his cheeks, for all he had on was a pair of dark green boxers, leaving his somewhat pale figure, complete with pink hummingbird and skeletal-fish on his chest, completely exposed. Save for his hands, clad with fingerless gloves, of course. Imagine the inconvenience of a power like Ty's deciding to act up in his sleep.
"Ah! What the hell...?" he exclaimed groggily before pulling on the first pair of pants and tee shirt he could find among the mound of clothes in his recliner.
Smirking, Megan didn't bother to budge from the window. The sudden light sent spots dancing across her vision from the stark contrast. "Nice to see you again, too." Honestly, she didn't know what his problem was. Unless he was terrified of arachnids, or of being naked. She wasn't flustered; wasn't like it was the first time she'd seen him in his skivvies anyway.
... Damnit, yep. She'd definitely crossed the line into creeper-ville at some point.
Casually crossing one leg over the other, she caught a spider in her hand and watched it skitter over her fingers. "Nice...ah..." She scanned his room with her eyes quickly, before fixing them back on him. A now fully clothed him. "Anyway, I've got something to take care of. Something... rather important. Wanna come play?"

Ty let out a nervous laugh, recognizing the spider-girl now. "Oh, it's you," he replied with a smile as he let out a sigh of relief."Jeez...you scared the **** out of me though." He listened as he tied his shoes, putting his knife, his phone, and his wallet into their respective pockets.
"Well, if our first meeting was any indication, then it's liable to be a hell of a time. Sure, I'm game." Gloved hands ran through ginger hair, attempting to straighten the bedhead he'd acquired during his mostly peaceful sleep. "So, what's up?" Whatever it was, he had a feeling it had to be something really important for her to sneak into his room to ask for help.
A grin curled her lips, and she snorted. "I'm surprised you even remember that. You were plowed."
While he adjusted his hair, she adjusted her position again. Un-crossing her legs and leaning forward with her elbows on her knees, she pinned her eyes on the floor at her feet. "There's a guy i'm trailing. A mutant." Her eyes flicked up and focused on him again, while her expression morphed into an icy frown.
"He's some sort of illusionist: able to change himself and things around him in the blink of an eye. I've contacted him twice before in the past, but all I know about him is his name so far. Marvin."
"... I've noticed that you're pretty handy; that you know stuff." Or, at least she'd been led to believe that by how Roach spoke of him.
"I need you... to help me find this man. I need you to help me track him down tonight." The dark haired woman paused, her gauze darkening, "... So that I give him what he deserves."
Ty flashed a similar grin, a gleam of mischief in his blue eyes. "Oh yeah, I was wasted all right. And technically, I don't remember, but I know exactly what happened that night. One of the joys of being me." He winked, but his smile faded from his lips as hers did.
A frown formed as well with each word she spoke. Since his little dance with a precog and a mutant-hunter, Ty wasn't usually one to take on jobs hunting mutants anymore. But this was Megan, and though he barely knew her, he did owe her for one heck of a birthday. "Mutants can be tough to track, especially when they don't want you to find them," Ty finally said after thinking it over a spell. "This is gonna be tricky, so I hope you don't have any plans coming up soon. I have no idea how long this is gonna take." He scratched his chin, grabbing his jacket as he continued speaking.
"I can find things out, yes. But to do so I need something. Something that either belongs to this Marvin, or something that's been where he has. See, I can touch something and see it's life story. To find our guy, I need to find something with a history Marvin played a part in. The bigger the part, the better my lead." Zipping his jacket, he walked over to his bedroom door, leading her down the halls and eventually outside.
He knew it was going to be a long night, but for a friend, he didn't mind so much.
She snorted, "I haven't got any plans for the foreseeable future." In fact, the longer she stayed off the radar, the better. What better way to achieve that then by vanishing off on a dark adventure with a fellow mutant?
"..." Ty described his power a little more, and she felt her frown deepen. If he could see an entire like through just toughing something, had he seen anything of hers? If so, what? Icy eyes narrowed for a fraction of a second, before she wrinkled her nose and averted her gaze. There was no real point in grilling an accomplice for information before their job had even started. Eve so, though... "If you happen to see anything about me along this journey, I'll trust I can count on you to keep it to yourself."
It wasn't so much a question as a statement. One she hoped she got across with a pointed look, before she straightened and stood from her perch. Moving swiftly back o the task at hand, she tucked her worries away to be contemplated later."I can take you to the place I first met him. There'll probably be something left over from out meeting there. If not, I can take you to the second place I met him, and we can try there."
With a little wave, she beckoned him away and hooked one leg out the open window. "I'll meet you outside." Ducking out, she started down to the street below. She didn't care if he followed out the window, or if he took the more logical route down like a normal person.

"Neither do I," Ty answered with a nod. The ginger-haired thief wasn't one for making plans, anyway. They just tended to fall through or mess up. "Of course. I tend to keep what I see to myself anyway, unless it pertains to something like we're doing now. So the only person I'd tell is...well, you." With another nod, Ty took the sensible route outside. The way he figured, he'd have all night to scale rooftops and shimmy out of windows. Best enjoy the logical way while one can, right?
Although, he did make sure to shut his bedroom door. He didn't want his black cat to escape into the halls, after all. Once outside, he ducked into the adjoining alley to meet Megan. "Alright, so where does this little adventure of ours start?" he asked with a sly grin.
When he met back up with her she already had her bikes engine purring away. Turning slightly at the sound of him approaching, she peered at him through the shaded eye-shield of her helmet, and silently held a second helmet out toward him. "The slums. First time I met this guy was in a back ally. The neighborhood we'll be going into hardly every changes, so finding something he's touched shouldn't be completely impossible." Megan wiggled forward a little, allowing him a little extra room behind her. Her bike wasn't too small, but when two people hopped on it tended to get a little cramped. Thankfully this wouldn't be his first joyride with her.
"The people don't change much either, so keep yours eyes and ears peeled while we're there. I met this guy in broad daylight last time, and I was still sure i'd get jumped at some point."
Once he was on, she pulled away from the curb smoothly and pulled a U-turn. She didn't know what was waiting for her once she got there, and she held no illusions that her plan would work out, but after everything she'd gone through she'd at least give it a try.

"Of course," he murmured, mostly jokingly. The slums. Why didn't that surprise him? Oh, right. It was always the slums. Oh well, at least he had his blade on him. Slipping the helmet on, he climbed on the bike behind her and wrapped his arms around her, holding on.
Ty took a breath; the redhead knew all too well to be ready for anything, and this would definitely be a long night. Oh well, at least he didn't have to worry about looking for trouble. More than likely, the two of them were about to ride into it head-first...
Once he had a firm grip on her, she put the pedal to the metal and followed her mental map back to where she'd first met Marvin on that fateful day. She recalled vividly how real the illusions had seemed, but was also pretty damn sure the mutant at least needed something underneath them for it to work.
After thirty minutes of silence, she pulled her bike of the road and killed the engine. Just down the sidewalk a little ways was the entrance to the alley she'd told Ty about. In the dark it looked a helluva lot more ominous than it had in daylight. "This is it." After sliding off her ride, she shook herself in order to release some of her spiders. Five of them tumbled out and skittered away, narrowly avoiding footsteps, into the shadows. Keep an eye out. Alert me if anything strange happens.
After the silent command had been given, she cinched her coat open, the one she'd worn on many 'jobs' since join the Lilith's, and made sure the blade tucked away inside was secure, and easily removed if the need arose. The darkly lit street around them was void of life save for the two of them and Megan's hidden arachnid detectives; but in a way that only made the scene eerier.
Megan's boots clomped softly along as she started forward toward the back ally. She tucked her hands into her coat pockets and turned to peer over her shoulder at ty, the yellow-white light of streetlamps turning her eyes a light sea foam green in color. "when I was here last he'd made the place look like a room. There were walls with wall paper, Chairs, end tables- you name it. He'd been seated himself when I happened up. I think he must have been sitting on something solid for the illusion to work. Maybe a crate, or a box of some sort."
Just as before the darkened hovel was a mess of strewn litter and random objects. Megan started kicking around in piles looking for something specific-- a shoe. She could still vividly remember getting two of them thrown at her before she'd realized Marvin was in there among the filth.

Ty nodded, releasing his grasp on her and hopping off of the bike as he surveyed his surroundings. Slum alleys at night never looked inviting whatsoever, but this one seemed even more ominous tonight. Maybe it was because Ty had an idea of what exactly he was looking for. He listened carefully as Megan spoke, because he knew full well that she knew a lot more about this guy than he could imagine.
The post-cog slipped off his gloves and tucked them into his jacket as she dug in the rubbish for something. "I'm going to get some basic information while you look. And since I'm positive the buildings were here two years ago..." his voice trailed off as he carefully placed the palm of one hand against a single brick on the building's side.
Image after image flashed in Ty's mind as it always did when his mutation took effect. What was different, was this time, frequent portions of his visions were cloudy. But it was a start.
After about a minute and a half, Ty staggered back, holding his head as a dizzy spell caught on. "Give me a second...damn psychics are never fun...but this guy..." He closed his eyes, catching his breath. "I think I have him. It's a guy that frequents this alley, and every time he popped up, my vision was...clouded. Distorted. Almost like if you open your eyes under water and try to see something that's above the surface. From what I can tell, he's a very clean-looking man, maybe early to mid thirties. It's a start, at least."
Leaning against the wall, Ty wiped a bead of sweat that'd formed on his brow.
Fast food wrappers, paper bags with bottles inside, unmentionables. Rubbish. Nothing but rubbish. Megan paused her search when Ty spoke up, and turned toward him.
The onslaught of information he gave her, even if most of it wasn't much of a use to her, was amazing. She found herself grinning despite her dour mood, and crossed the ally to stand beside him as he took a breather. "Thirties?..." She echoed, tapping her chin with a gloved finger. "But he comes here often; that's exactly the kind of information I wanted." Even if he wasn't here right now, that at least meant she could expect him to be here sometime in the future. "...If we don't find anything on this hunt, I should have a good chance of finding him if I stake this place out for a while." Eyeing the corners around her, she was properly satisfied with how many hiding spots she'd have for her spiders.
Still, even with an age and slight description, there wasn't much to go on yet. She was too determined to track the guy down to give up just yet, especially when Ty's power made things look so hopeful.
Across from her, half buried under a length of cardboard, she spotted the corner of a wooden crate peeking out. Long determined strides carried her over to it quickly, and with care she didn't usually possess, she uncovered it.
"... What about this over here?" It was broken in on one side, but still probably usable as a make-shift chair. Pursing her lips, Megan stood and crossed her arms. Not far away from it was another pile of aged, weathered cardboard. She could only hazard a guess at what was underneath. "And over there, too."

Ty gave a nod, scratching his chin as he thought this over. It was at this point that Megan pointed out two more objects that could provide information on their guy. Pushing himself off the wall, he walked over to the crate first, placing his palm against it.
Like before, image after image was crammed into his mind, only not as much as the building had seen. Afterwards, he sat on the crate, resting his head in his hands as he spoke, trying to fight back the throbbing headache he'd learned to deal with. Some were just more than others.
"Still fuzzy, and the view wasn't exactly great, unless you call the view of our guy's--and other people's--ass a good view..." he muttered. "But many a deal has gone down in this back alley. From what I gather he's got people wrapped around his pinky, and he yanks them around like puppets. They come to him for help, but in the end you may as well have sold your soul to the devil himself." He looked around the alley, taking deep breaths. "So he targets those with a great need, be it a way to get the law off of their backs, a debt paid, or what have you." He didn't say it, but a part of him wondered how Megan got mixed up with this guy.
Smirking at him, Megan giggled on the inside. Even though one of those asses that he'd seen was probably her's. Would he even know it was her's though? She'd purposefully cut contact with Marvin after the surgery, both because he was an class A creeper, and because she knew it was needed if she wanted to integrated seamlessly into her new life as Charlotte.
She snorted. Good lot that had done her. He'd still tracked her down anyway.
"That's a lot more power than I thought he'd have." Idly, she wondered if Ty just say things, or if he could hear things as well. She'd gone into this knowing he might find out things about her, but now she was wondering if it were possible that he might end up knowing more than she did.
"Hmm." Turning her back on him, she eyed the remainder of the ally around them. She wasn't sure how much more information he'd get off of boxes and walls. "Should we move on to the next location, or do you think you can get more information here?"
