The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was worth noting that Ty may have figured one of the butts he'd seen was hers, but he didn't know which. And the man wasn't about to filter through that just to match faces to asses. Besides, there were much easier ways to--Anyways.
As far as hearing, Ty merely saw flashes of the highlights of an object's history, but the entire life story, conversations and all, were crammed into his memory, making them...sporadic to access sometimes. Which was why he usually had to act fast, otherwise it would melt into the jumble of the rest of his memories. While fresh and still on his mind, they were easier to access.
"Yeah...though I'm afraid we may have only scratched the surface," Ty said grimly."A guy with a mutation as powerful--and annoying as his is bad enough. But someone with that many people under his thumb...makes him even more of a pain in the--" he stopped himself, rubbing his temples. He stood to his feet. "Still groggy though. Takes alot out of me, but as long as I get a little rest, we'll be fine."
Nodding, she turned and headed back out of the alley toward where she'd parked her bike. She stopped on the sidewalk when her spiders started to chime in about two figures further off down the road.
Listening to the mental jumble of information, she stared off down the sidewalk past where the working streetlights ended. Gradually voices started to fade in. Male... Loud; they hadn't realized Megan and Ty were there yet. Slurring. Great, drunks.
"... So I says to 'im, Hey. Listen pal, you don't wanna get on my badside. You ain't gonn-- gonna like me when you on my badside." The two men chuckled and one tossed an empty can behind him. The Sound of aluminum clinking and scraping across cement echoed over to where Megan was standing.
They sure didn't seem much of a threat currently. Just two drunken sods meandering the streets at night. Megan peeled her eyes away from them and headed for her bike again. The engine purred to life beneath her, and she waited for Ty to hop on.

Ty followed behind Megan, not really paying attention to the drunks. He was worried about something else. The unseen. He didn't know what was out there, and he hated being in these neighborhoods before dark. But he was here for Megan, and as such, he kept his face stern, appearing fearless even though inside he was scared to death. Eyes focused on shadow after shadow, dark alley, windowsill, street corner. But there wasn't much going on aside from the pair of drunks.
Letting out a soft sigh, he climbed on behind his friend, wrapping his arms around her and ready for anything. In this line of work, you had to be.
The two men were closer now, but not really paying them much attention. Both guffawing at their own jokes and stumbling about on unsteady legs. Ty had slipped onto the back of the bike, and she was about to stuff her head back into her helmet, when the two drunkards started past.
Both acted like they were oblivious to Megan and Ty's very existence, too deep in their own little world to care But, while one continued strolling on past, the other came to a jerky, worrisome stop an arms length away from the bike. His arms and legs twitched and jerked; there was a far away expression on his face, and his mouth worked soundlessly. Then, his chin jerked their way and he angled a strained, eerie grin at them. In a low, hollow voice he spoke: "... You should stop this foolish search now, before it's too late. Some things are not meant to be found."
A chill ran up Megan's spine, but she dropped her helmet back into her lap and met the man's gaze with her own. "... and just who are you?"
Something was off about this guy. The way he was holding himself; the way his eyes twitched and darted every so often before refocusing on them. It was like he was forcing himself to talk and move. The was especially apparent when he folded one arm behind, one arm in front across his stomach, and gave them a mocking bow. "Geppetto."

He leaned against her as the two individuals got closer. But he still didn't pay the drunks too much attention. Ty expected the drunks to keep walking, and then to hear the roar of the motorcycle's engine as they'd head to their next location.
Ready for anything? Well, Ty thought he was. But he wasn't prepared for one of the figures to stop and address them. Nor was he prepared for how creepy this was. In fact, the situation sent chills up his spine, and he was sure the short red hairs on the back of his neck were standing on end.
Ty's body tensed, unconsciously tightening his grip around Megan's midsection as he gave the stranger an icy stare.
Geppetto...? As in wooden puppets, fairies, and vengeful whales? Megan blinked once, and then her expression fell into one of utter distaste. She was talking to a lunatic. A boozing crazy out way too late after his bedtime. "...Riiight." It wasn't that she didn't believe the cook, it was... no, actually that was it. She didn't believe him at all. The creepy warning he'd given was still creepy, but considering it had lacked any definite information she was more than willing to pass it off as utter B.S. He'd probably just seen Ty and herself mucking around in the alley.
"Go sleep it off in a corner somewhere, dude." Keeping an eye on him, she returned to tucking her head into her helmet.
The man stood still for a moment as if in thought, his jerky gaze shifting from Megan to Ty and back. Lips already twisted into a leering grin curled further until all of the man's stained teeth were exposed. The woman was covered well; only the barest slivers of skin showed through around her wrists and at the curve where jaw met neck. With his decision made he stepped forward quickly and his hand flashed out. The tips of his fingertips grazed over her skin before she had time to react.
In the next few moments she lashed out at him to fend him off; but it was too late. Seconds after he'd touched her the man's body fell limp on the sidewalk, half on and half in the street beside the bike. Megan went ridged; her shoulders tense and body shivering slightly. Meanwhile, across the street from a blacked out window on the third floor of a flat, the shadow of a man sat leaning against the windowsill. His forehead rested against the cold glass, his arms were folded under him to keep himself propped up. To outside eyes he appeared asleep, but he was far from it. The man was a spy for the mutant Megan and Ty were looking for. He'd happened upon them and watched while they were moving about Marvin's alley. His power was useful for gathering information and dealing with nosy snoop-around's, almost too perfect for this situation.. through touch he could transfer his consciousness into another's body and override their control of themselves. He used them as puppets to reach his goals; this situation was no different. He would use the girl against the guy, one or the other; whichever managed to take the other down first.
Inside his new host, he grinned and felt her lips curl. He lifted her elbow, enjoying the smoothness of the action; drunks were always too hard to control from the inside. So jerky and uncoordinated. He aimed the elbow back suddenly at the male behind him, intent on slamming it into the guys face.

Suddenly, Ty felt an elbow smash against his face; more specifically, his nose. The impact caused him to loosen his grip, and before he knew it, he was lying on his back on the asphalt, one hand over his bleeding nose.
"Charlotte! What the hell?" Wait. Geppetto. That guy from that story about the puppet. Puppet...
"Geppetto was the puppeteer. The guy who created Pinocchio..." He murmured as he struggled to his feet. "So she's his puppet. And I'm royally ****ed..."
Oooh... that had felt simply amazing. It hadn't been that long since the last time he'd been in a fight... well, technically speaking anyway.. but it had been a while since he'd really gotten a chance to enjoy it. Here he was taking the both of them by surprise, giggling in a feminine voice as the redhead toppled off the bike with a curse.
"heheh...Smart boy... you catch onto things quite fast, don't you?" He could feel the females mind shifting restlessly under his control. She wasn't aware of what was happening, but it was most certainly alarming to her. More or less like an out of body experience.
Casually he lifted a leg and detached Megan from the bike, taking a moment to gaze down at his stolen body. "It's been too long since i've been in a body like this... so... defiant, yet so different from a man's physique..." He ran her hands over her hands, inspecting little lifts and tears in her worn coat, before stopping with his fingers on the zipper tugged up by her collar. "So soft and warm..."
Toying with the zipper, it fell an inch or so, and he laughed again. A hollow, dark sounding chuckle in Megan's voice. It ended abruptly when he discovered the blade she had tucked in her boot. The stiffness of the metal gave it away. Stooping, he plucked it from it's hiding place and eyed the shining metal. ..Is this a dagger which I see before me, the handle toward my hand?" It was light in his palm, but still quite solid. Perfectly balanced. "Come, let me clutch thee..."

That voice. It was her, but then again it wasn't. He felt his skin grow clammy as she/he found the blade she'd had tucked away. At least his nose had stopped bleeding. But the hairs on his neck stood on end at the imminent future...he was going to have to fight his friend--well, her body--and she was armed. Which meant if he hoped to survive, he'd better be too.
Reaching into his jacket, he pulled out the long black handle, flipping it open. "I know you're still in there, Megan. You have to fight it," he pleaded, his voice surprisingly sturdy. "I don't wanna do this. You don't wanna do this..."
Chuckling, Geppetto gripped the knife gently and eyed it. "She can hear you, but she can't fight this." Tilting her head back, he blew her had from his vision and grinned widely. "I've been in this business a long time, kid. A spotless record; No one has ever broken my grip on them."
Inside, essentially locked out of her own body, Megan felt like she was lost. Like her eyes were closed and all she could see around her was a swirling blackness with hints of color and shape randomly. Unlike her sight, she could hear almost crystal clear. Her voice, but not her words. She could feel very faintly what her body was doing, but felt helpless against it. One thing she did have on her side, however, was the mental link she shared with her children. She could still hear them chattering, and quickly issued an emergency alert for them to locate whoever was controlling her, and so everything they could to disrupt his connection.
"... Are you so sure she doesn't want this? Are you so sure she's fighting against me? I think she has just been itching to stick you with this knife... and who am I to argue?" Grin still stretching Megan's lips, he moved her body forward step by careful step. In all honesty he didn't have a clue what type of fighter she, or the male traveling with her, was. It didn't matter much to him so long as he got them to injure one another in the process. If he could make skin contact with the male at some point as well, he could only imagine the fun to be had between them..

"Records are like rules," Ty replied, stalling for as long as he could. The gears were spinning inside his head as he tried to think of a way around this.
"Positive. If she didn't want me alive, you and I wouldn't be having this conversation," his voice was cold, but it was mostly a bluff. He didn't want to hurt his friend; the friend who taught him the joys of drinking, and subsequently, that his powers could refresh his memory the morning after. Together, the two of them always seemed to look for trouble, but this time, the duo may have bitten off more than they could chew...
Ty's hand tightened around the knife blade, a sick comfort coming from it.
"Ahh, so confident. I suppose it doesn't matter much in the long run. There's nothing she can do to stop me..." She stepped forward again, before picking up the speed. He couldn't feel pain through her nerves, so it didn't matter to him is true damage was dealt.
"You should have heeded my warning. You should have dropped this when you had the chance." He moved Megan's arm to lash out at Ty clumsily, using her strength, but not having the knowledge behind it to back it up.
Meanwhile, Megan's spiders were slowly whittling away at the buildings in the surrounding area. Each room was spot checked quickly, marked off with a silken thread, and then it was onto the next. They weren't the fastest at their job, as it took time for tiny legs to skitter great distances... but in numbers they got the job done.

"Maybe she doesn't need to stop you." Okay, that made much better sense in his head. When she/he threw the punch, Ty caught the arm then attempted to shove her/him away. Luckily the punch was clumsy, otherwise Ty might not have fared so well.
His mind was racing; no ideas came to him. His mutation wasn't cut out for this, and he wasn't willing to hurt his friend, even if she literally wasn't herself right now. Besides, Ty wasn't exactly a trained fighter, to say the least.
He easily blocked the punch, Megan stumbled back from the shove but caught herself. With a laugh, Geppetto had her back on steady feet. "Go ahead and try, boy! We have all the time in the world!"
He started to circle his opponent, slipping off one of Megan's gloves and letting it fall to the ground behind. Across her bare knuckles glinted the smooth grooves of a pair or steel knuckles. An intimidating sight to most, but not what Geppetto intended. He wanted the hand free so he could make easier contact skin to skin.
Lunging forward again, he aimed the mental enhanced fist haphazardly at Ty's head.

Ty's eyes caught the sight of the brass knuckles, and they fixed on them. He took the best excuse for a fighting stance he could muster, and stepped back, losing his balance on an old bottle on the ground and catching the brass knuckles to the face. Pain shot through his jaw, and he found himself now lying on the ground, hand up to his bleeding lip.
Ty's head was reeling for a second, but he managed to make the world stop spinning. "Man..." he grumbled, a busted lip making his speech more awkward. "I really gotta learn to fight...this is ****ing pathetic."
