The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It's getting to be that time of the year again. No, not Christmas. Halloween! And after trying out a plot idea last year that kinda fizzled, I've got struck with more inspiration.
Remember all those nursery rhymes that you learned as a little child, or the fairy tales that everyone knows and Disney made into movies? What if they started happening in real life? What if that witch who lured Hansel and Gretel was actually not in a house made of candy? What if she was that one really attractive lady in the bar who steals your boyfriend and then uses him? What if the animals in the petting zoo join together as a band?
And what if your entire apartment building fell under some sort of deep sleep and those shrubs outside grew wild?
Mother Goose and the Brothers Grimm were real people in history. What if their stories were as well?

What I'm thinking of is a family of three mutants, two brothers and either a sister or their mother, who have the power to bring fairy tales and nursery rhymes to life, The problem is that some of those stories are a little outdated. It's not like there are many young princesses with evil stepmothers in New York City, and I'm pretty sure that no pigs have built houses. Clearly with the powers of Grimm and Goose there are going to need to be adjustments.
Any suggestions as to fairy tales or nursery rhymes you would want to see happen? I would really like input from the other people on MRO for this one, and I think that it could make a fun plot for October.

I think this could be fun, but maybe if we narrowed it down to a few fairy tales? We have the Wonderland plot going right now, and I think just one or two stories have a lot of variety. Too many and I think it's a little overwhelming (at least for me) to try to get involved.

Agreed, which is why I want to know what stories people would like to have. What good is a plot for the site if it doesn't have things the members want?

So from Abbigal we have princess stories and the three little pigs. How about nursery ryhmes? I have no problem looking into possible stories or Mother Goose things. I'm thinking of maybe three or four things to happen, with varying degrees of menance to them, the least being petting zoo animals running around the city, to lead people to the family.

Alright, I've got some more plans now. Something that police can deal with, something for the Sanctuary, and am working on something more towards the X-Men. Each of these three things are not exclusive to those factions, but since the number three is prominent in fairy tales, and there are three factions here on MRO, might as well play it up.
The NYPD are setting up a haunted house in a historic hotel. The idea is to provide families with small children a safe place for some fun scares and tasty treats. However a biker gang, known as Bad Wolf, has come to crash the party, and the hotel as well. Feel free to be a visitor to the haunted house, or someone employed by the NYPD to work the event. Just be aware that there are kids present and Bad Wolf doesn't care if their motorcycles are getting close to those kids, or if the historic architecture is suppose to be protected
The objective: Get Bad Wolf out of the Haunted House before they destroy it. Also try to keep from destroying it yourself. Little kids will be present, so keep them safe.
It all started with a yawn. The yawn, contagious as they all are, spread throughout the apartment building located near the Sanctuary. Soon enough the residents begin feeling sluggish, their limbs heavy and unresponsive. Recently planted rosebushes have gone wild, growing with an uncanny rate, their thorns starting to bore their way into the apartment building, blocking the doors.
The objective: For those who are in the building, get out before you fall asleep. For those outside, find a way through the overgrown thorns and rose bushes.
Now as far as the X-Men are concerned I'm still trying to figure out something. I'm thinking maybe something with the Pied Piper, but not sure. I know that to find the family it's going to be follow the animals of New York City that are being called to by the Mother Goose figure.

So would this happen over just the course of one night in character? Like Halloween? Because that might have an appeal because it would make it just a somewhat small thing to participate in and if it stretches on a little bit it's not changing any major events...

Halloween night is a great time for lil plots like this. One halloween, there was a mutant who made players think they were their costumes. That was entertaining.
Holidays, in general, are excellent for silly plots. I still remember a Very Cthulhu Christmas. Fun times.
While it often helps to narrow ideas now, once we get an idea of how many players are interested in this, we can figure out how many more stories we might need to spread out.

Alright so both of the plot parts have started up, with the links to them being in the description above. Now for information about the mutants causing all these problems.
Teague, Will, and their older sister Ermelinda Schrieber are not evil people. They don't wish to watch the world burn, only to make it in a new country. Strange happenings in their small town in Germany lead to being ostracized. None could explain the strange things that had happened around the three, but it was clear that they weren't normal.
Teague and his twin Will both are capable of causing Grimm fairy tales to be recreated. Their wills follow the events of those they meet, waiting for a chance to twist life events into the old fairy tales. In the case of this Halloween, a mother's desire to see her daughter be silent and sleep has activated the story of Briar Rose, otherwise known as Sleeping Beauty. They can only cause a story if there is enough modern occurrences to support it, thus why stories such as the fox and the geesehave not happened. They do not control what happens in the story when it comes to life, nor are they capable of ending it early, only leading people towards the ending as narrators of sorts.
Bad Wolf in the hotel is Ermelinda's fault. While her brother's powers manifest through fairy tales, hers tend to go for fables and nursery rhymes. Generally they are less dangerous and will more often than not involve animals or small children.
