The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura chased a Human she knew well through the alleyway. The man had always paid his protection money quietly and promptly. Then the previous month he had stopped, been warned and proceeded to ignore that warning, Two of his employees were dead as it was, but the owner was fast and seemed to know where he was going. When he ducked into a warehouse Aura, considered stopping, she smelled a trap. She followed anyway, letting her Aura quickly cover her body with none of the usual grace she displaced.
Looking around she saw no one but the place had old crates everywhere and several side room's as well. As soon as she got away from the door, she saw people emerging from the box's all around her, some even up on the loading shelfs of the old warehouse. Looking around she knew she was surrounded, and could see her opponents had a mixture of gun's and more mundane weapons like bat's and she thought she might have seen one idiot with brass knuckles. Aura smiled understanding their tactics, the one's with the close in weapons were a sacrifice but did not yet know it.
Aura heard several shot's fires, and before she could move, she felt the bullet's strike her Aura, 2 deflected away going through box's and out the far wall. The third struck her Aura solidly but Aura ignored it, as her Aura finished forming the hard angels she kept to deflect bullets. Her aura seemed to extend from her finger tips once they extended fully, Aura quickly manipulated them, making her aura flow and form the head of an Axe on one arm, upon the other a sword shape took from from her fist. She left, her sword in its scabbard for now. Human's were not usually a problem, but in numbers they could be deadly, like any insect.

Late nights were becoming something of a pattern for Skydancer. Acrobat practice ended late and actually arriving at home came later still. She found, increasingly, that she enjoyed the peace the night had to offer, both on the rooftops and when she opted to travel by more conventional means. Travelling by conventional means was far overrated.
As she had many nights prior and likely would many nights in the future, Skydancer traveled by rooftop. Her mutation combined with her acrobatic training made her uniquely suited to that form of travel. Through a combination of running, swinging and jumping she found she could make quite good time getting from place to place but it wasn't even a matter of how long or short it took, it was a matter of the trip itself. The fact was, it was fun being a mutant, at least when she wasn't getting yelled at and attacked for that fact.
Skydancer almost missed seeing the distinctive pink aura from the mutant below her. She had only met the woman once, on the day she had arrived at the city, but she was hard to miss once seen. Deciding to pay the girl a visit, Skydancer jumped to the ground, a pair of tubes cushioning her fall, just in time to see Aura enter a nearby warehouse. A moment later she heard gunfire and, knowing she couldn't let the other mutant face whatever was in there on her own, she sprinted to the door, several more tubes bursting from her purple flesh.
"Leave her the hell alone," Skydancer called out, tubes extended in front of her as far as the walls of the warehouse would allow. Hopefully intimidation would be enough as she really really hated bullets.
Aura was about ready to attack, when a mutant she had not seen in considerable time came into the warehouse. The site of the other Mutant was beautiful and Aura wished she had more time to look her power over. Her word's registered a moment later in Aura's brain and Aura smiled, she knew that somehow she had likely caused this event, by killing someone or another.
Skydancer's entrance also gave Aura something else, an opening. As many of the goon's turned their head's to look at the unexpected guest, Aura shot forward into the group in front of her, she felt a few bullets strike her Aura just before she struck the first man. With a quick jab of her sword fist, she struck the man's stomach, impaling him on it, even as she swung her axe around aiming for a second target's heart. Without checking either target she kept moving, almost colliding with a third target. His shot struck hard but was not enough to save the man from Aura bringing her Axe and sword together like scissors.
While Aura did this however several men focused on Skydancer as well, unsure of who to fire at and on the verge of panic from their crumbling plan. However a pair of the Humans emerged from the shadow's of the warehouse. One man's mussels were convulsing and getting bigger, the other was turning into what looked like Scorpion. "That M drug sure changes the agme" she called cheerfully across the room.

Skydancer did not like guns. Not that she had much experience with them, but what little she did have made her hate them. At close range, she knew there were few who could stand up to her tubes but guns gave whoever was wielding them an unfair advantage. She especially disliked guns that were pointed at her and, just at that moment, she made a rather obvious target.
Shots rang out and, in a desperate move, she dove behind a nearby crate and heard a pair of bullets ricochet off a wall. Concerned with getting her own self out of there alive and all in one piece, she spared little attention towards the other mutant. If Aura couldn't take care of herself then she would make the thugs suffer for the suffering they themselves had caused.
With what she hoped was an intimidating battle cry, Skydancer lifted her head out from behind the crate just long enough to target a pair of thugs and send her tubes shooting out towards them. Guns might have been a disadvantage but the relative close quarters of the warehouse gave her an advantage in turn. Short range she may have been, but unlike most short range mutants, she wasn't limited to mere hand to hand. Her tubes gave her up to 30 ft of reach which she intended to use to their fullest.
Each of the two tubes she shot out wrapped squarely around a thug, one around his wrist and the other around his neck. One of them screamed; she guessed the one who's wrist was ensnared as the other would be having problems even breathing. Both guns went down. She hurled the one who's neck she caught at a third thug, sending them both tumbling to the ground. Of the remaining thug she squeezed until she felt the snap of his wrist breaking and an agonized cry to confirm what she had done.
"That M drug sure changes the agme"
Skydancer's head remained out just long enough for her to catch a glimpse of the man changing before she ducked protectively down once again. Things had just gone from bad to much worse.
The arrival of the second mutant had turned from something Aura was unsure she would have survived. It took fire off of her and cause hesitation through the gang members. Their was little she could do about the M drug Humans at the moment so instead she focused on the humans around her. Her Axe bit deep into a near by Humans chest, her sword finishing the matter in a quick strike to the neck. It had been quite some time since she had gotten to strike fear into city morgue.
As the M Mutant's advanced, Aura took several step's back as she considered how to deal with them. She had not encountered many scorpions in her life, but she was pretty sure most did not have a stinger the size of a sword. The man reached her first, and Aura met his punch with her aura sword, but the man's power also made him durable, she cut him, but not badly. Aura on the other hand was thrown back word's. Getting to her feet not far from sky dancer, she smiled. "You want the bug or the man? she asked.
Her Axe began to swirl until it formed a spinning drill. Both seemed rather durable and she like the penetration she could get with the weapon. She had caught glimpses of Sky dancers using her power to fight, it was a lovely looking power that Aura was unsure what she would do if she ever had need to fight her friend. Either way they had other issues.
