The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Regan smiled at Tses as she mentioned how she’d like a tail because all she did was glow. Regan laughed and looked at her. “You do a lot more than just glow, though your glowing still reminds me of fireflies.” She chuckled softly and continued. “You were able to make little explosions with your powers. I know because you threw some at me. It’s forgiven now so don’t feel bad about it ok?”
It wasn’t long before the pair were down the stairs and turning into the hall that took them to the kitchen. Regan let Tses enter first. The kitchen was a massive place dedicated to food. An enormous fridge was in the center of the countered area. There was a large stove and hanging baskets of fruits and veggies. “Well what do you think? I’m sure we’ll find you something that you’ll like in here. Oh look, someone made cookies!” Regan walked in and headed towards the plate of cookies that had been left on the counter. “Looks like they are chocolate chip cookies. Want to try one to see if you like chocolate chip cookies?”
Fireflies. Tses tried hard to imagine what a firefly looked like, but her mind couldn't formulate the image. Amnesia Tses and real Tses both shared that confusion: neither had seen the glowing little creatures in person. She hoped one day she would get to see one though. She hoped they were pretty. She would like to have something nice about her.
When Regan commented that her powers exploded, Tses blinked in surprise. She couldn't imagine her glowing energy blowing things up, let alone Regan! She frowned, but then Regan stopped her from regretting it too much. 'I... I guess. I don't think I would want to blow things up though... I wish I could create something instead. Exploding stuff just seems... I don't know."Mean her mind echoed. She didn't like feeling like this. She didn't like finding out about the her that fought, and threw explosives at people. What made her do that? Without the memories, Tses didn't feel angry, and didn't feel destructive or reckless. Her past changed who she was more than she'd ever really understand.
Getting to the kitchen, she felt her stomach grumble, and smiled as the smell of cookies reached her nose. "They smell delicious!" She said, and after waiting for permission, she scurried forward and took one with her good hand, taking a bite and smiling at the gooey flavor. "They're good. Sweet, but I like it. What else is there?" She asked, hungrily looking around.
Regan smiled as she moved around the counter towards the fridge to see what was inside. “It wasn’t really like BOOM, fire explosions.” Regan said while throwing her arms in the air and mimicking an explosion with her clawed hands. “They were more like bursts of air pressure really. I’m sure they were handy for many things.”
Laughing softly as Tses enjoyed the cookie and asked for what else there was to eat, Regan opened the fridge. She looked around inside, shuffling plates and jars around. Poking her head back around the door she smiled. “Well it looks like there is some leftover bacon mac and cheese, lots of stuff to make sandwiches with, and some salads. If you don’t feel like trying any of these things, we could always make something else. I’m a pretty good cook.”
Explosions that didn't go 'boom'. That seemed a little confusing, but she was sure it made sense in the long run. With a little smile, she laughed at Regan's description. As she described the pressure, Tses felt like there was a momentary sensation somewhere in the back of her mind. She felt like maybe she understood.... but it was gone. Then they were raiding the fridge and she was distracted by the thought of food.
"Ooo bacon mac and cheese sounds good. Or sandwiches. Or both! Let's do both! Later maybe we can make something. Like cupcakes! I think I like cupcakes... I think. I don't know if I know what a cupcake is, but I keep hearing the word in my mind and I really want one now...." Tses grinned widely and chuckled. That little feeling in the back of her mind returned, and she felt like the giggling was a little too much. Her smile melted a little and she tilted her head, wondering why she didn't like all the laughter. She wished she knew why. This was getting less fun and more frustrating the longer the thoughts refused to surface.
With a chuckle, Regan took out the bowl of left over bacon mac and cheese, butter, a bowl of chicken salad, a bowl of egg salad, package of mixed lunch meats, some cheese, and lettuce. She placed everything on the counter before going to the bread box and pulling out a loaf of bread and some buns so Tses had some options. Grabbing a cutting board and a knife, Regan grabbed a tomato and started to slice it up. “So what do you want to try first? There are lots of options here for you to choose from. Once we have our sandwiches organized I’ll pop the leftovers into the microwave.” Finishing up slicing the tomato, Regan turned around and grabbed some plates out of the cupboard and a few forks and knives out of the drawer and placed them on the counter in front of Tses.
Turning back around, Regan pulled the cellophane off of the leftovers bowl and popped it in the microwave. Pressing a few buttons, it hummed to life and she turned back to face Tses and make herself an egg salad sandwich on a bun. After buttering the bun and spreading some egg salad on it, she added a slice of cheese, some tomato slices and a bit of lettuce. She smiled over at Tses as she worked. “We sure can make some cupcakes after, I’m not much for baking from scratch but I know there is some cake mixes in the pantry and some of that store bought icing in the fridge. It’s been a long time since I’ve baked with someone.” Thoughts of her “Father” flooded her mind, the afternoons they had spent doing so many fun things together. She smiled over at Tses as she finished putting her bun together. “This will be fun I think.”
After Regan started piling things onto the counter, Tses got nosy and started looking through the food items. They didn't really seem super appetizing, other than the leftovers, but Regan was going to throw that in the microwave. Somewhere in her mind, Tses knew that was to heat the food up, but she couldn't remember how she knew that. It was like how she still knew how to get dressed, how to open doors, how to talk. All the end results were there, but none of the memories.
Frowning slightly, she plucked one of the tomatoes off the counter, and took a bite while Regan was preoccupied with the breadbox. Making a face she spat out the piece of tomato, then quickly put the vegetable back on the counter, bite end down. When Regan returned, she sliced up the vegetable and started assembling a plate of food. Tses watched, trying hard not to stare at the tomato slices too intently. One of the bitten pieces made its way into the Regan sandwich, but when she started to say something, there was talk of cupcakes.
"Ooo! Store bought cupcakes is fine! I just want to make something. I don't think I've made cupcakes before. Or have I... no, I don't think I have." It was all very confusing. She was lost in that thought, and her short lived idea to warn Regan about the tomato vanished in her fuzzy little mind. She shrugged and grabbed a piece of bread. Dumping the a large amount of the leftovers in the middle of the bread, she smiled happily, and then struggled to fold the bread in half over the mound of mac and cheese. It was hard, but with a few rips and tears in the wheat she managed. Then she took a piece of cheese and flopped it on top of the bread. "There. I think it's ready." She said proudly.
“Alright, well once we clean up after lunch we can make up a batch of cupcakes together!” Regan giggled and finished putting her sandwich together, unknowing of the bitten tomato in it. She watched Tses put her sandwich together and giggled through a clawed hand. She made a valid attempt to put it together so Regan didn’t say a word about it. “Looks great Tses.” She then piled some of the mac and cheese on her plate next to her bun.
Walking around the counter to the other side, she pulled out a chair and sat down. “So what kind of cupcakes should we make? Chocolate? Vanillia? Oh maybe marble? I think we have red velvet too.” Regan smiled and let Tses mull it over as she picked up her sandwich and licked her lips just before taking a big bite out of it and the bitten tomato that lurked inside. “Mmmm this is delicious!”
Tses had a few nice mouth fulls of her food before Shammy ate, and the food helped ease the rumbling in her stomach. But then, she found herself distracted, and she sat watching as the tomato slowly made it's journey to Shammy's mouth. There was something she was going to say. There was something she was going to---
A giant glob of mac and cheese fell out of her bread and flopped on the ground, and she quickly ducked to get it.
There was a rush through her head with the sudden movement, and Tses flinched in shock, stumbling and throwing out her hand to catch herself. Reflex brought the freshly broken wrist into the counter and a yelp of pain, and she reflexively dropped the plate of food, curling against her arm and feeling a small profanity slip from her mouth. Her eyes widened in shock, and she looked up at Shammy, face tinting red. "I...I didn't know I knew that word." she squeaked, and looked at her food, lib shaking slightly. She didn't feel super hungry now though. Her head was hurting an awful lot...
"Is it time to take the medicines now? I hurt..." She said, looking up with big blue eyes that would make a puppy dog feel envy.
As Tses went down, hurt her arm, and yelped out in pain, along with a swear word, Regan jumped out of her chair and leapt over the counter in one fluid movement. Landing on her hands and feet on the other side, she quickly helped Tses up and leaned her against the counter. “It’s fine, I’m sure I have a few colorful words in my vocabulary too.” She said with a soft smile.
Nodding her head at Tses mention of her medications, Regan lead Tses around the counter to a chair and sat her down. “What do the instructions say on the bag for taking them?” She asked as she headed around the counter again to get Tses a glass of water so she could take her pills. “It should be on the label there.” She continued, looking over her shoulder and nudging her head towards the paper bag.
When Shammy asked what the bag had said, Tses felt herself responding out of reflex. "Don't know, can't read." She remarked, then she blinked slightly, looking momentarily excited by the revelation. "Hey! I knew that! Well...didn't know that... I knew I didn't know? Owe...." She put a hand up to her head, and leaned back in the chair she'd been set in. She wiggled her arm in the general upstairs direction. "I think I left the bag upstairs in the bathroom." She murmured. The pain in her voice made her sound much more like herself, even if she wasn't acting like it.
In the bathroom, Tses had left her outfit flopped next to her boots, and the bag of medicine rested on top of them. There was also a metal stick Tses had disregarded and tossed on the pile, as well as a knife she usually kept strapped to her thigh. Neither seemed relevant to Tses at the moment; the old her would have felt naked without the items. Inside the medicine bag, the doctors had placed the pills she should take, as well as one last item: her cell phone. Tses had found it in the pouch with her knife, the uncomfortable object seemingly pointless once removed from her boot. But she hadn't thrown it away. She felt it was more important than that, but wasn't sure why. In the contacts, there were only a handful of numbers, one she would have probably deleted if she was in her right mind. Too late for that now. Her right mind was on vacation.
As Regan left to get the medicine, Tses pulled her knees up close and buried her forehead against the jeans. The pain made her whole body tremble, and she longed for comfort from someone... she couldn't remember. The lame lingered on her lips, lurked in the back of her mind. It was short. She didn't know how she knew, but she did. For some reason, she kept imagining something green, but figured it was just her glowing hands, and then she thought of water. None of it added up, but she kept hunting for that name, wondering why it mattered. The thought flickered away, and she shut her eyes, waiting for her friend to come back.
As Tses commented on her lack of reading ability, Regan heard that typical tone that was clearly Tses. She was slowly starting to peek through the kind, bubbly girl that she had been over the last little while. Tses mentioned that she had left the bag in the bathroom upstairs and winced in pain. With a nod, Regan dropped down to all fours and took off like a shot out of the kitchen and skittered her way down the hallway and up the stairs to head back to her room to get the paper bag of meds off the counter.
When Regan got there she noted the pile of things on the floor. She grabbed a trash bag from under the sink and placed everything in it and stuffed it in her back pack quickly. She slung it on her back and ran back down the hall on all fours. When she reached the stairs, she launched herself off the top to land gracefully on her hands and feet at the bottom. She skidded around the corner and into the kitchen to find Tses curled up with her head in her knees.
Standing back up with a slight pant on her breath, she carefully walked over to Tses. She pulled off her back pack and placed it on the ground before fishing out the paper bag and reading the directions out loud so Tses would know them. “Ok it says here to take two tablets every four to six hours as required for pain.” She then grabbed the glass and handed the tiny bottle and the water to Tses. “Sorry, I can’t open the lid, damn cat hands.” She sighed and watched to see if Tses was going to be alright.
Tses took the bottle of medicine carefully, and after a small bit of struggling she managed to follow the arrows to push the cap down, turn and then open it. Placing the cap on her knees, she took out two of the little tablets, and then resecured the container. Reflex was the only thing that helped her get the medicine down. her memory may be shot, but her muscle memory did wonders. She wondered what else they remembered. She wished they would share their memories with her brain so she'd stop feeling so confused.
"You move fast." She said, and rubbed her eyes with a hand. She felt exhausted suddenly. Her mind may not remember it, but her bodyfelt the burning of her muscles, the bruises, and the extreme pain coming from her side and wrist. She curled back into a little ball, wedging her face against her knees and shutting her eyes. She just wanted to sleep now. Maybe in the morning, life would be different. There was a distant flicker of a thought passing her mind. Something about cupcakes. Something about a cell phone... something. Then she was already falling asleep, thin little frame of a woman looking so much like a child in that moment.
Watching to make sure Tses was able to take her medications, Regan sighed softly, the poor girl was a mess, there had to be something that she could do more for her. After Tses finished taking her pills, Regan took the bottle and the glass of water from her. She put the pills on the counter for the moment and went to place the glass in the sink as Tses told her she moved quickly. She chuckled softly. “Well I guess that’s one good thing about being a cat.”
By the time Regan turned around Tses was falling asleep in her chair. With a soft sigh she walked over to Tses and scooped her up in her arms. Tses wasn’t much smaller than Regan, but Regan was strong so it didn’t take much for her to carry Tses out of the kitchen and to the front foyer where she placed her on one of the sofas with a throw pillow under her head. “Have a snooze Tses, I’ll be right back, just going to get your things ok.” She wasn’t sure if Tses heard her, but she figured she’d better tell the girl where she was going in case she woke up and panicked.
Getting back to the kitchen, Regan grabbed the pill bottle and went to place it back into the trash bag in her back pack. As she opened the bag she spotted a cell phone. She pulled it out and as much she didn’t want to invade Tses’s privacy, she needed to find someone that could care for Tses the way she needed.
Pulling out the small phone, she managed to carefully use her claws to access the contacts list. There weren’t many people in it, but one name popped out to her, ‘Ty’. Regan pulled out her own specially made phone that Jacob had made for her and dialed the number that was listed for Ty.
“Hello Ty? This is Regan, how are you? I’m well thanks for asking. Umm I’m calling to ask you a favor, you might not like it though. Well you see, Tses showed up on the front lawn of the mansion this afternoon. No, no, she didn’t start any trouble. She seems to have a case of amnesia. I don’t know how she got it, she’s just all beat up, looks like she has a broken arm too. She can’t remember anything, she even likes me! Yeah I know it’s strange, but anyways, since you know her the best I was wondering if you could come and get her. You will? Oh thank you Ty! I would keep her here but she needs to get back on her feet so she can get her mind back, maybe being around you and back in her own home will help. Ok thanks, just come to the front door, she’s sleeping on a sofa in the foyer right now. See you soon Ty.”
Regan hung up the phone and put her phone back in her pocket, she then placed Tses’s phone back in the trash bag and slung her back pack over her shoulder to head back out to check on Tses. Regan would clean up the kitchen later. If anyone was upset about the mess, she was sure they would understand once she explained what had happened.
It was like sitting in a room filled to the top with boxes, all of them sealed and taped tightly closed. They pressed against the ceiling and the floor, too tightly stacked to reach and open any. She was wandering between the rows, trying to break inside them, trying to see what they held. But she couldn't reach anything. Yet, it was suffocating. They pressed against her, kept her from moving. Her mind was so full, but her thoughts so empty. She could feel the memories just out of her reach, but then they were drifting away, and she was settling deeply into oblivion, sinking in the emptiness that was so solid; so unreachable.
After Shammy left, Tses nestled into the comfort of the couch, and gave into those dreams and that oblivion. She didn't know what would happen, or where she would go, or if she'd ever remember. She wandered the rows of memories she couldn't reach, and pressed the palms of her mind against those boxes, as if taking in the promise that they weren't gone, just beyond her reach. She would remember. Maybe not now, maybe not tomorrow, but someday. When the pain resided, and those thoughts returned, she would be whole. And on that day, she would have to choose who she really was. Was the the gilr who was mean enough to prank the mansion? Or was she the girl who laughed with a new friend and made new food. She didn't know who she was.
But as she fell asleep, at least in her dreams she didn't have to know.
Ty had been sulking about his room, which was pretty much all he really did now that he'd broken up with what he realized was the best thing that ever happened to him. Yes, there were times when she'd torn his emotions to shreds, but when he dumped her...he realized that tore his emotions even more. She needed him...and he messed that up. But maybe it was for the best. Then, his phone rang.
"Yeah? Eh, I've been better, Reg, but I've been worse. Yourself? Favor? Shoot. ...She didn't start any trouble or anything, did she? Amnesia, likes? Man...that's weird as hell for her. Yeah. I'll come get her and take care of her. At least til she comes to herself and kicks me out or something. Alright, I'm heading out now, be there soon as I can."
Hanging up, Ty pulled on his green hoodie, wearing both green fingerless gloves today. Making sure he had everything he needed, Ty did something he rarely did. He took a cab to the Mansion, the ride giving him time to think this over.
When he stepped out of the cab, he paid his driver and made his way through the front door of the mansion. "Hey Reg," Ty said to the tiger-mutant when he saw her, using a little nickname he'd just thought of. "How bad is it?" he asked, looking over at the sleeping figure on the couch.
