The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(Continued from Otherside) The mind was gone enjoying the finer dreams and memories he had once had forced to replay over and over again with the lone purpose of making the body which was currently cold and calculating, easy to control from Amanda who was back in the car waiting for him. Sam’s body hopped over the fence with ease, his hands iced over momentarily till he was fully over the fence and on the grounds. From there Sam’s eye controlled by Amanda darted from flood light to light looking for anyone who was wandering the grounds this late at night which according to Sam’s thoughts wasn’t that uncommon. There were nocturnal students and others who didn’t need to sleep.
They would be the ones to look out for no doubt word had got out on what Amanda made Sam do to the physician before he escaped. Not only that but they would be searching the grounds for him. At this point most likely into the city or further into the grounds by now none should be this close to the mansion looking for Sam. Which was why this was going to work out so well. The first batch of students that were going to be nabbed were easy enough none were that physical with their mutations nothing that could draw a huge scene which was why these were selected first.
The human shape shifter first, similar to the abilities Sydney had almost identical which would make training him all the easier, could never have enough stealth agents and the shape shifters were perfect at hiding in plane sight. The one who was called Chase was first on the list and according to Sam potentially the one that would give him the most trouble due to his relations with one of the mansion teachers, the one that could nullify abilities if she got in the way Amanda would have Sam kill her, they needed to get the first batch of kids fast otherwise their plans would have to be pushed back yet again.
The grounds went by quickly enough, no problems for such a highly effective security system if you knew the layout and all the locations of the camera it was next to useless. One of the classroom windows were left open and with another quick jump Sam was in what looked like a chemistry Lab a few scorch mars were on the tiled ceiling and the smell of sulfur was in the air. Sam’s body continued downward towards the main hallways then towards the student hallway where the first and a few of the other targets were sleeping. ‘Good Sam’ thought Amanda while he maneuvered the hallway as stealthy as possible.
It was late so with a quite but distinctive knock Sam waited for the first child to respond to the summons.

Chase had already been sleeping a while, thus was in a deep, almost unshakable sleep. He was tangled and cocooned in blankets, face-down in the pillow and motionless in sleep, spare the steady rise and fall of his breath. It took a few knocks for Chase to finally register that someone was knocking at the door, and a few more to rise him from the bed. Even then, he was confused. It was way past curfew. Far too late for people to be knocking on doors. Maybe it was some of the older boys, playing pranks.
Chase shuffled towards the doorway—being too short to bother with the peephole, Chase didn’t check to see who it was. He groggily put on his human face while hands that were clumsy with sleep fumbled with the doorknob. The lock mechanism clicked as Chase finally managed to open the door, and the child pulled the it open.
An immense form stood in the hall, just outside the door. Chase rubbed sleep from his eyes, recognition registering in his head as he looked upon the X-Man that stood there.
“Mister Sam, it’s really late,” Chase murmured accusatorily, his words slurred together from grogginess “Shouldn’t you be in bed?”

No words could be formed from his mouth at least not now that Amanda was in control she was good but not that good anything she could produce would sound like it was being forced and strained out a muffled voice of what it was supposed to be. Sam’s head tilted to the side and his eye fixed on the young boy when the door opened. He remained silent his stare blank and focused like he was studying everything about the boy with his look.
Hearing was one thing that was easy enough when being in control of Sam’s body she also managed to nod his head in agreement with the boy’s question. It was late and Sam should be in bed however she couldn’t put Sam to bed until phase one was complete and the boy before him was the first part of the phase.
Lowering Sam’s body to one knee to be eye level with the boy Amanda who was in control of Sam’s body forced his hand up to offer it up to him in a way that most would mean, ‘come with me’. What the offered hand failed to mention was that this wasn’t a request it was a statement. Sam’s eye continued to lock onto the boys face until for the briefest of seconds Amanda was distracted. It was the look that the boy gave Sam or the agent blowing his nose in the car that forced Amanda to blink and pull her mind out for a second long enough to lose control of the puppet she was controlling.
Sam back in control of his body now blinked and then he looked back at Chase when it dawned on him what was happening, he wasn’t in control anymore someone else was controlling his body telling him and his mutation what to do. Did he kill again? Sam blinked again and in the briefest of seconds he fell backwards towards the wall his head slammed the wall and he let out a small grunt followed by a single audible word loud enough for Chase to hopefully understand what was happening. ”R-un….” was all Sam could muster before he felt the calm and his eye and face became blank slates once again.
Amanda back in control searched Sam’s most recent memories and she heard the ‘run’ replayed in her mind, what was the boy going to do now? Amanda willed Sam upright he stood and took a step towards the boy and outstretched his hand to grab him.

Chase stared at Sam in confusion. Last time they’d met, Chase recalled Gemma telling him that Sam had been a little drunk. Maybe he was just drunk this time, too? All Sam did was nod when Chase had observed that it was late, and that he should be sleeping. Maybe he was drunk, or maybe he was sleepwalking… Sam knelt and held his hand out to the boy and Chase continued staring. You weren’t supposed to touch sleepwalkers…
Chase didn’t like how Sam was staring at him… unyieldingly… flatly… Chase stepped back into his room, his gaze never once leaving Sam. Then, suddenly, the X-Man fell backwards, blinking in confusion.
“Sam?” Chase squeaked, inching into his doorway again, closer to the hall, “Are you o-?”
>> “R-un…”
Chase stepped closer as his teacher got to his feet, uncertain as to why he should “run”. But, when his teacher lunged at him, Chase dipped out of the way. He was confused, but he wouldn’t ask questions. Those could come later. The child ducked past Sam and bolted down the hall, hazarding a glance over his shoulder.

Amanda cursed in her own mind at the agent in front of her for distracting her, he’ll pay for later but for now the child needed to be collected. According to Sam there were a dozen or so people on this floor that could stop or delay him long enough for the child to get away or at least wake the others and possibly put a wrench in the whole operation. ‘Catch him.’ Amanda thought using Sam’s body to run after the shape shifter.
Upon silent footsteps Sam started to close the distance between them. He couldn’t knock on a door or scream if he did Sam would be in danger of being lost again and Amanda doubted she’d be able to pull off another escape like she did when he was in the infirmary. Ice shot out of Sam’s hand toward the boy a hand of blue and white with five fingers, a rudimentary display of his abilities but under Amanda’s influence she thought it was far more complex than it was.
The hand sailed straight to its target leg however the end of the hallway was nearing if the boy choose to duck down another hallway it would miss until Amanda could will Sam to create another one. Thinking on her feet or rather Sam’s she willed some more ice to start running down the wall towards the boy hoping to corner him by staying in one hallway, easiest way to trap a rabbit is block off his escape and to Amanda the wolf in Sam’s skin the boy was nothing more than prey.

As the nine-year-old glanced back, he saw the man closing the distance—Chase tried to run faster, his short legs flying over the carpet as quickly as they could carry him. The X-man threw a hand of ice towards Chase and the child yelped, stumbling out of reach. It ricocheted off of the floor and shattered against it. Disbelief was slipping away, giving rise to terror, and the child finally found his voice.
“Help!” Chase yelled, “Someone help me! Anyone! Help!”
Chase inhaled and exhaled deeply. He was coming to a bend in the hall, after which he knew to be a straightaway. Soon, he could gain ground. There’d be a stairwell, then he’d be downstairs. More places to hide, to lose someone.
He didn’t notice the ice that was surging beneath his feet. And, as Chase went to round the corner, his foot slipped beneath him, his ankle supporting no weight, and the boy slid, coming to a rumpled halt against the wall. Sam was there before he could scramble to his feet. Chase was cornered.

Amanda cursed mentally as she urged Sam forward to apprehend the child he wasn’t supposed to yell, none of them were at least not yet. The hand shattered on the ground missing its target as he rounded the first corner towards the stairs. It was clear she wasn’t as in control as Sam normally was she only had access to a fraction of his power but so far it had been more than enough even if she could only form objects there were over a thousand uses for Sam however it seemed it would take some time getting more access to his kind of control if she was having trouble with a single scared kid.
Luckily for Amanda she was icing the floor as well, which did happen to work in her favor once Chase took a spill. ‘Oh, poor baby’ thought Amanda in Sam’s mind as she made Sam close the distance between them. Ice started to form around the pair of them first closing off the hallway next to the boy then closing off the exit behind Sam. ‘No where to run boy’ thought Amanda upset she couldn’t force Sam to speak like the good little dog she knew he could be.
Once they were in closed a short dome of ice Sam reached down to the boy and under Amanda’s complete control forced the air to become cold and brittle till the boy passed out due to the cold. It wouldn’t kill him but the sudden drop was enough to get the boy under so Sam could move him for transport. Amanda used Sam’s abilities to undo the ice deleting all traces of the incident and then scooped the boy up and hefted him over Sam’s shoulder.
Out of the mansion and in her car a ways away from the mansion Amanda blinked and moved her body for a brief second to alert her staff that the first target was contained. “We will be moving him to the transport unit, we move once he gets the other two.” She said before jumping back into Sam’s mind and having a intense flashback of Chase’s scared face, something that forced her control over Sam to waver for a moment or two before she started to replay his dreams and fondest memories. ‘One down two to go’ She thought sending Sam to restrain the boy before heading after the next target.
Teddy was groggy from all the school work that he'd been assigned recently. It seemed like all the teachers were bent on giving the kids as much work as they possibly could this time of year.
Ted was in that in between phase. Not quite asleep and not quite awake. As he laid down to sleep he heard the footsteps of someone running down the hallway. Don't they know what time it is, and people ate trying to sleep? Some people have no respect. Teddy thought. He was to tired to get up and tell them to shut up so he just laid there hoping that they would just go back to bed and he could finally sleep.
Ted would have fallen asleep if it wasn't for the cry of help that he heard in the hallway. Groggily Ted stumbled out of bed and opened his door just in time to see Sam carrying some kid away.
A few thoughts went through his head. One was, Was that Sam? and another was Why is he carrying a kid? That doesn't seem normal. Against his better judgement, he followed Sam for just a bit. Watching was always better than taking action in Teddy's opinion.

Sam was no longer alone, he and chase continued to walk down the hallway. Well Sam walked but it seemed there was another boy trailing them. Amanda didn’t realize it until she momentarily lost some control over Sam’s attention. It shifted and then there was a peculiar feeling she was feeling from inside Sam’s mind like there was something warm behind him.
Once Sam was moving up on a corner into a new hallway it was then she spotted the other boy through Sam’s peripherals, ‘interesting’ thought Amanda wondering what else Sam was no capable of. She could investigate further later, now was a time to focus on the boy she was carrying via Sam and the boy who was now ‘tailing’ Sam.
Once Sam rounded the corner she used his ability to control ice and layered the ground with a thin and rather slick sheet of ice. Something that wouldn’t be noticeable until someone was looking for it or slipped on it either way it would cause the boy that was now trailing them to be distracted. After the ice was laid Amanda had Sam put the boy he was carrying down off to the side of the hallway, once the boy was down Amanda had Sam pull a disappearing act something she had seen him do numerous times.
It was a little premature to grab the second target but seeing as he was already following Sam Amanda thought it prudent to pounce while the ‘getting was good’ Sam could easily move to avoid attention but him being followed by a child who most likely would cause more attention if he saw what Sam was doing? No that wouldn’t do at all.
A second passed and Sam was in the air forming thin spider like legs of ice from his back, which allowed him to climb the wall. A few quick pin pricks into the wall and Sam was gone from plain sight unless someone looked up there the spider Sam waited for his next fly.
Teddy continued walking. Unfortunately, he wasn't really paying much attention to where he was going. He slipped in a sheet of ice. Busting his butt in the middle of the hallway was not the thing he wanted to do in the middle of the night.
Ted had a little trouble getting up. He was never any good on the ice anyways. After slipping a few more times on the ice he managed to get up. Ted backed up a few steps, being very careful not to slip back on the ice again.
When Teddy looked around again he'd lost sight of Sam. There was no sign of him. He didn't know that Sam could pull off an invisibility trick. Of course there was a lot about Sam that Ted didn't know. This probably wasn't the best time to hang about though. Teddy shrugged and began slowly waking back to his room. He was pretty tired and was really hoping to get some sleep tonight. Teddy yawned and rubbed his eyes. What was going on? Was he already dreaming?

Sam’s good eye fixed on the boy in the darkness as he kept slipping on the ice slick he had set up seconds before. Amanda on the other end of Sam’s gaze couldn’t help but smirk at the way this child had continued to slip. ‘Him?’ thought Amanda as she continued to focus on controlling Sam willing his body to move further back into the corner of the hallway, which the boy had just come from.
Once the second boy was up and started to move back the way he had came Amanda willed Sam off the wall and into the air and like an according folds up the spider legs folded then expanded outwards forcing Sam towards the second boy without a sound Sam pounced the boy and knocked him out in one motion bringing his hands down to his sides. Sam’s body didn’t move until it seemed the second child wasn’t going to get up.
‘Good’ thought Amanda ‘easier than the first’ opening her eyes and looking to her lackeys in the car Amanda told them that another was down before resuming control of Sam once again. A few moments passed and other than a damp carpet and some pinpricks in the wall there was no sign of Sam or the two boys in the hallway.
Sam’s body continued to move with Amanda’s command as the hallways, stairwell and even the elevators passed. Both of the boy’s hands were bound and both still unconscious. Luck or good timing Amanda didn’t look the gift horse in the mouth until they were both tucked safely away in the X-Jet. All the security in the world couldn’t have kept Sam’s body out if he knew all the pass codes to get into the hanger located in the subbasement of the mansion.
Once both boys were deposited in the X-Jet and Amanda was sure they couldn’t make a peep or escape she sent Sam back out into the mansion where the last of abductees was most likely sleeping. Once Sam entered the girl’s hallway a few memories resurfaced along with a few other memories. Amanda eventually lost focus again when a certain ex-girlfriend popped into Sam’s mind causing her to lose focus again. Amanda yelled and shouted something but Sam couldn’t see it or hear it for once again he was in control.
Sam blinked and realized he was in control again no longer was Amanda using him as a puppet for whatever evil deeds she had planned. Searching his recent memory he saw it all and with a sudden gasp, ”Ohmygod…” was all Sam could muster before he through his hand up to his side and caked a large portion of the wall in ice. ”Can’t lose control again…” Sam said in a panic as he lifted his hand up to his chin and was about to will an ice construct to end it so Amanda couldn’t take control of him again but before he could she grabbed his mind and took it. ‘Aw Sammy, don’t think like that.’ Amanda thought as she forced Sam to move forward only after removing some of the ice caked on the wall.
A few moments passed and the familiar ‘knocking’ sound could be heard in the hallways as a controlled Sam was knocking on his last targets door.
Ted continued to look around for Sam. His little dissapearing act was an extraordinary thing. He certainly didn't know that Sam could do that. There was literally no trace of him. The only trace that he'd left was some ice that was still on the floor. Ted was still trying to avoid that. It was then that he looked upa nd saw Sam flying down at him like a spider jumping on its prey.
They landed with a silent thud and hit his head on the ground. Teddy's air was forced out of his lungs and his head was spinning. He was seeing stars and those stars were starting to get darker. Sam's weight didn't seem to be getting any lighter. Pretty soon Ted was unconscious and he was soon lying on the floor like a limp noodle. What happened next he wouldn't know until it he awoke again.
Taking a step back to evaluate her work, Elke attempted to wipe off the spray paint on the leg of her jeans. "Hm... I think it's great... what do you think?"
The twin standing beside her looked up from the colorful gaming magazine she was reading. "...I.. uh... I don't got the message, Boss. Wassit mean?"
With a huff, the Native crossed her arms before her and pinned a rueful glare on the clone. "It means, dummy, that I ain't got a single @$#% left to give for what anybody thinks 'bout me." The child drew herself up proudly, ignoring the fact that her cap kept tipping forward to obstruct her vision every five seconds. The poorly scrawled words on the wall in front of her were bold, and in all caps (her attempt at true Graffiti style), and in her mind the message was clear.
I ROTE ON THIS WALL TAKE THAT SOSIATEE!!
The clone blinked, looking from Elke to the wall, then back again. "Gosh, boss... you're like... the smartest person I know!"
"That's cuz i'm the only person you know, stupid. C'mon... let's beat it before the fuzz catches us. We're hardened criminals now, you know... Could do hard time for this."
Adjusting her yellow cap, too make sure it was juuust the right backwards angle, Elke started past her clone and down the hallway. She was sure that when morning came the school would be buzzing with how much of a rebel she was. ... And it didn't occurred to her, as she walked away, that she'd completely forgotten to sign her name.
Turning the corner at the end of the hall, she started toward the bedrooms- where she'd found a room to hunker down with on her visits. She hardly noticed the figure knocking on the door of said room until it was too late to avoid detection. The moment her attention was captured, however, she stopped. Her twin halted as well, its full attention captured by the pictures in the pretty magazine.
Without a second's pause, she tossed the incriminating can of yellow paint at the clone, uttered a single four-letter word, and about-faced. The unlucky clone fumbled to catch the surprise gift, blinked at the empty space where Elke had just been, then blinked at the man down the hall from her. "Huh? Wha-?"
"Run you idiot, it's an adult!" Elke shouted after her, as she zipped as fast as she could around the very same corner she'd come from. The clone gave the man a startled moron-in-headlights look, before tossing the magazine and spray can in the air, and bolting after Elke.

‘Ah there is the last’ thought Amanda as she had Sam turn his head. Working Sam like a puppet his body turned and the second the two kids started to run Amanda willed Sam after them. They already started a commotion one tossed something towards the other then the other was yelling a bit too loudly for a stealth operation. Luckily it was late or early depending on the perspective meaning whoever wasn’t asleep was either not paying attention or didn’t care what was going on outside in the hallway. Now that Amanda thought about it this school was a good place to pick up operatives there apparently was always just the right amount of commotion meaning no one wanted to get involved. That or they were far quieter than she thought.
Using Sam’s abilities of ice Amanda willed his hand up and forced Sam to fire an ice blast at the pair hoping none of them decided to take a turn before the newly formed hand construct latched onto one or both of them. The child they were chasing was going to be a little more difficult to capture than the other two, which was one of the main reasons Amanda wanted this child. The ability to replicate ones self at any given time made it almost possible to take on any number of difficult jobs. Train one and you train a thousand with numbers like that this kid she had Sam chasing was at the top of the list.
This was probably the scariest thing that had ever happened in the clones 24 hour lifespan. She turned to peek over her shoulder as her boss ran on, caught sight of the an icy hand flying her way, and promptly freaked the heck out. Before so much as a squeal of terror could escape her, she was caught in the things cold grip.
.... Great, now she felt scared AND sick!
"BOSS! WAIT! Don't leave me here!" She couldn't see the other anymore, but heard the sound of steps flying down the hallway slow for a moment, before "Take one for the team, Soldier!" was shouted back.
Swallowing her fear as best she could, the clone attempted to pull a brave face as an ill feeling washed through her small body. "Aw man... I ain't feeling so...good.." The clone wiggled, whined, and promptly started to melt all over the icy hand holding her.
Meanwhile, Elke had shimmied open a window down the hall, and was in the process of trying to lower herself out. Mid transit, though, she slipped... and an errant nail caught the back of her overalls. The child's daring escape from the law turned into a sudden, and very embarrassing, flail of limbs as she hung from her pants just outside the window frame.
"@#$%!.... It figures... it really does." A look of pure discontent washed over her face as she struggled and spouted cuss words vile enough to wither the shrubbery situated within hearing distance.
