The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tses looked away as he spoke and crossed her arms defensively across her chest. She was leaning against the wall, because she was sure if she moved, she would faint, now that the spinning was coming back to her head. But she also seemed to be leaning on the wall for emotional support. She felt a bit confused by the whole situation, and his whole friendship. If it was a friendship. Maybe it was just a mutual coexistence, the passing of two thieves in the night. A slight comradery that allowed you to pass ways without feeling obligated to trade secrets. Although in a way, they had. She felt like she was uncomfortably readable to him. Maybe his perception wasn't just hidden by his gloves. It was a silly worry, but one she couldn't keep at bay.
"You're different. But I don't know if it's a bad thing yet." She said aloud, and didn't seem to care if he understood her meaning. He was different for letting her stay around, for giving her a chance. She sank back to the ground, closing her eyes and putting her head against her knees. "So are you always this charming, or do you injure girls on purpose to keep us around." She said, with that sharp sarcastic tone she adopted that could be both mean and friendly at the same time.
"Although with me, it's about the only way life ever seems to slow down. I don't know the last time I've actually sat and talked with someone. I probably will kick myself for it later. Talking gets you killed..." She sighed, trying to sort out the jumbled mess in her head.

Ty was sure she would leave. He just knew it. The one person he confided more secrets than anyone in a long time, and she'd soon be gone. Never to be seen again, more than likely. He wasn't sure if this counted as a friend or not, but he liked it. Whatever it was, he liked it.
"I am different, I know," he replied. "And...all I can say is I'll let you know if I find out?" Looking down at her, he gave a dry laugh. "Nah. Usually no one tends to stay around very long. So I don't remember the last time I talked this long with one person, either." He sighed. "With me it's my leaving that gets others killed..." Although he didn't realize he'd said that out loud.
"Hopefully I don't live up to your experience with people. If it makes you feel better, it's got nothing to do with you, and everything to do with me. I'm not very good with people, or staying, or talking normally..." Maybe she was sick... Maybe this whole bullet wound was effecting her brain. She could use that as an excuse for her talking and her blatant disregard of everything she'd learn from the past.
"I know, it'll just be a contest. Who get's who killed first? I got bets on me." Tses looked up with a glimmer in her eye. Her cheeks almost had a bit of color back in them, though she wasn't sure if it was just her mortification of this situation or if she was feeling better sitting down. Part of her wanted to test her boundaries, she if she could handle something 'social' for once. Well, other than a fist fight. She'd had a few of those lately...

"I'm not usually very good either," he admitted. "I just...I've lost so many people I'm close to. And for once I actually feel...comfortable. All I knew until recently was being alone."
He sighed, trying to keep from getting overemotional and crying again. "But like I said I'm not going to force anything. If you want to go...you're free to. I mean, I know we gotta part sometime, but maybe we'll get to meet again. Have some more fun, share some more laughs." He flashed a weak smile, eyes sort of twinkling. Maybe he was too nice. Too soft around the edges. But he didn't care right now.
"Maybe it's a mutant thing. Survival instincts. Get close to people, loose people. You learn getting close means something will go wrong eventually." She wasn't as 'upset' as he seemed to be. She tended to be bitter about life, not sad. She tried to build a shell against it.
"And I don't really know what I want. But I can tell you, if I tried going somewhere right now, you would find me about halfway down that alley in a heap... Everytime I stand the world keeps spinning. 'Stop the world I want to get off' type spinning." She chuckled at his statement. "And if you keep picking pockets the way you do, I'm sure I'd run into you eventually. If nothing else but to save you from some dogs." She smirked at him over the top of her hands. He was a bit too trusting, but it felt good in a way. Good to have someone give her a chance, regardless of what she could do to them.

"Whatever it is, I can't say I like it," he murmured quietly. Ty just knew he was tired of fighting alone. And today, the way they handled what turned into a bad situation....it proved he could get along with others. Even a stranger. And they made a decent team, he thought.
"I don't either. And...if you would rather leave...I can walk you where you wanna go, if you want. Then I'll let you be. No questions asked." He chuckled at her dog comment. Even now she was making him smile. "Yeah, maybe we will meed again. Hopefully." He smiled softly, walking closer to her, but not too close. Maybe Ty was too trusting, even though he tried to put up walls, they ended up crumbling when the right person came along. Or wrong person, who could tell?
He just knew she was one of those it was hard to keep walls up around. But didn't know why.
Tses smirked again, her smile just visible in the gap between her hands and her legs. She was still resting her head against her knees, and it was a good thing she was wearing shorts under her skirt or it would probably be an unladylike pose. But the way she dressed, it would be hard to see any skin other than the little that showed through the fishnets on her legs. If she ever learned to swim, it would be in combat boots. There was no other way to dress.
She lifted her head and pretended to be irritated. "Do you want to get rid of me that bad? I mean, you get chased by an armed police officer once and no one wants to hang around you anymore!" Sarcasm was a natural defense as much as fighting was.

"No, I don't want rid of you," he said with a chuckle. Actually he was trying to get to where she wouldn't be rid of him so quickly, even if she did want to be. "Though I gotta admit, aside from you getting shot, and the two of us almost falling through a hole in the roof, likely to our deaths, that was a pretty fun time. Exciting and all." He smiled again, sitting down so he was facing her.
"Alot more fun than when I'm being chased by myself, that's for sure." He was starting to relax again, no longer feeling like he was going to cry. He was feeling back to him old self, just from her sarcasm. For some reason that seemed to help.
"If you're lucky, maybe next time I'll drop you through the roof!" Tses winked, slowly sitting up and trying not to flinch as her side protested with pain. She stretched her legs out in front of her, off to the side so she wouldn't kick him by accident. "So what do you normally do for fun? Other than pick pockets that is? That a profession or just a personal hobby?"
She didn't know what she would consider her hobbies. She never really did anything that wasn't for work or wasn't for survival. It was interesting to see how other people did things. Although she wasn't sure if Ty was someone more like her, or more like normal people. It was hard to decide.

He laughed, shaking his head. "Heh. After I made a point not to drop you?" he teased. "For fun? Well, I sorta live with this old lady. I pick pockets because that's all I know. And I do it to have money for myself so she's not treating me like a child. It's my way of being independent, sorta." He shrugged.
"As far as hobbies, I sorta dabble in videogames. I used to read before I had to be afraid I'd see the entire history of the book I'm reading. And gloves make the pages hard to turn, ya know? I usually spend my time just walking and picking pockets these days."
Tses listened with actual interest in what he was saying. It was a bit odd, but she was curious about getting to know him. Genuinely interested, not in her usual 'how can you help me' type way. His story sounded a little familiar to her own, in a way. Pick-pocketing was his way of being on his own. "I've never played video games, and I didn't do much recreational reading." She couldn't remember the last time she had picked up an electronic when she wasn't trying to steal data from it or personal information. She pushed that thought aside for now. She didn't want to get into that.
"How come you don't read on an e-book or something? If you get one with the little button you can click to turn pages it'd be a lot easier with the gloves." she found herself suggesting.

"Nothing I ever thought about, honestly," he said. "I should look into it." He smiled, unable to remember the last time he'd talked about things he enjoyed. So long he could hardly remember. "Thanks. For that, and you know....sticking with me..."
He lay back. "So what about you? What do you do when you're not leading guys on wild chases?" he asked teasingly.
Tses shrugged, tugging at her gloves a bit. "I don't really have hobbies. Never really had time to." She fidgeted a little, but kept talking. It was only fair, he was being pretty honest.
"Had some people who taught me how to fight when I was a kid on the streets, then learned to steal, learned to hack and pretty much survive however I could. 'Fun' wasn't something that really was on my list of priorities. I'm not proud of the ways I've had to live, but with the world the way it is, sometimes it's just eat or be eaten." She tugged at her fish nets where a spot of blood was dried on it. She wished she had something to fiddle with. It was hard to just sit still.

Ty nodded, listening quietly as she spoke. "I understand. That's how I lived the last couple years or so. No time for fun, do what I had to. Before then, things were off and on." Sitting up as he spoke, he just sort of sighed. "Dealed with deaths quite a bit...moving from one place to another...."
Without thinking, he pulled the stuffed tiger out of his jacket, holding it and staring at it. "But...I do what I can. Take things as they come and try to roll with the punches.
She glanced up at him as he pulled out the tiger again. She figured it was important to him, and tried not to prod before, but now she couldn't stop herself. "So what's the deal with the tiger? Any special significance? If you want to say, that is." She pulled her legs back in, flinching once more. The pain was a bit dimmer now, and she thought perhaps she could move again soon. Perhaps...soon.
