The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tses jumped onto the edge of the roof, and did a short hop over to the adjoining building. The alley they came from had been convenient: it was one of the few fire escapes that reached the roof, the majority of these buildings stopped short of the roof, and you had to improvise from there. The best plan now was to back track towards the city center, where there were more buildings under construction. Most of them had ample scaffolding to use as your own personal jungle gym. Tses had used it more than once. It would be interesting to see how Ty adapted though. Tses chose these roots for the particular advantage it gave knocking off people who were following you. The only time you had to watch out was if you caused a serious crime, and alerted sky traffic. While few people thought to look up, choppers had this nasty habit of always looking down.
"Well, you're in luck. We aren't running." Tses glanced back at him, and walked the edge of the roof like a cat. Maybe she was showing off a little. She wouldn't admit it though. She kept her mind on the conversation and their walking path equally, her primary concern being her own safety. "I'm still pretty new here, but all cities are the same. I try to see them in three dimensions: always plenty of room to go up. Not afraid of heights, are you?" She had the strong urge to do something silly, like a hand stand, but thought better of it... for now. It was entertaining enough exchanging remarks with him for now.
Distantly, she heard a small yapping, and she glanced over the edge, feet carefully balanced on the lip of the bricks. "Awe, you're friend stuck around!" She smirked, watching a tiny chihuahua excitedly bark at passing cars.

Ty followed her lead, making his way to the edge of the roof and carefully judging the distance before he made his jump to the adjoining rooftop. It sort of brought him a nostalgic feeling as he did this, following Tses across the rooftops like this.
"Heights? Nah. I used to dabble in urban exploration; this is no stranger to me," he explained. "Actually brings back some rather fond memories." It reminded him of when he and his two buds used to explore rooftops and buildings, only neither of them were pretty girls. Heh.
Now, Ty wasn't going to try anything that graceful, because that wasn't really his thing. She could have walking edges like a cat. Leaning over the side of the building a little, Ty gave a snort. "Har har," he said with a semi-sarcastic but mostly playful tone. "Though I gotta say, the little bugger has my respect. He did what dogs ten times his size couldn't do." He gave a small laugh. "No human could do it either," he added as an afterthought. "Every dog has its day, I guess."
Tses smirked as he said something about 'urban exploration'. She didn't know what her type of gallivanting around the city counted as, but 'exploration' was usually not a way she thought about it. Everything in her life seemed to revolve around survival. Having fun? She had trouble actually doing that. Right now, this was refreshing. She hadn't smiled this much in years. Being with someone who kept up with her sense of adventure and her wild nature almost made her happy. But that made her want to build her walls back up, and leave this boy in the dust.
The next gap between buildings was larger, and Tses took a running jump at it, landing catlike on the other side. She stood and brushed off her gloves, and turned to see if he would follow. "It's not as far as it looks." She commented, the sounds from the alley fading away. In the distance, she heard the sound of a police car coming this way, and was pretty sure she knew where it was going. She didn't think her prank was enough to get a big search for them, but anti-mutant hostilities were big now. They were the 'dogs' of the city, but here they were easily escaping the trouble behind them. Maybe he was right. Maybe every 'dog' did have it's day.

"Now that," Ty said with a chuckle as he heard the siren, "is a sound I'm quite familiar with." He watched her graceful landing with somewhat of a look of awe. It'd been awhile since he'd taken a chase like this, so high up.
"Heh. Time to see if I still got it," he murmured as he took a good few steps back before getting a nice running start. When he got close to the edge, he leaped, getting plenty of height and distance, but the landing wasn't as beautiful. His feet hit the ground, and in an attempt to stop gracefully, he fell forward, onto his hands and knees, tearing a hole in the left knee of his jeans. Standing up, he flashed a grin. "Yep...Just like old times."
Tses smirked at him, a sort of laughing expression that could be taken as mean. She still had her social problems, and they didn't all go away at the same time. She forced herself not to tease him for stumbling, but she could bring herself to ask if he was ok. Caring was a weakness, and she was already pushing her luck.
When she looked at him, however, her face pulled into a sudden frown, and she her eyes focused on a figure pulling himself over the edge of the fire escape two buildings back. She was careful not to move, giving away that she saw something, but spoke quietly with warning.
"Hey, I know we talked about 'not running', but on three, you should probably run fast, and follow me." She shifted her feet, eyes locked on the man. "One." The man was pulling something out of his back pocket. "Two.
and now he was yelling "Hey you two! Get over here!"
"Three!"
Tses started running without waiting for him to respond, she got a few feet along the roof when she heard a gun fire, and the bullet hit far to her right hand side. The man was a bad shot, this was a good sign. She jumped the next roof quickly, the gap much shorter, and turned to glance back for Ty. Before she could register if he was there, another shot rang out, and the bullet ricocheted near her foot this time. Tses stumbled in surprise, taking a step backwards...
And there was nothing there to catch her.
"Shit!"
She finally found that 'under construction' building she was looking for with the open roof to get down to the street. There was about a foot concrete, then an unfinished skylight still waiting for the glass to be put in. Tses slipped over the lip of that edge, and now she taking a quick trip to the next story of the building.

"Wait what? But I thought--" Then she took off, leaving him standing there. And then...there was the gunshot. Now, he was running on pure adrenaline. He took off as if it'd been the sound of a starter's pistol. Well, it got a start out of him all right. He jumped the next gap, making this one quite easily as he hit the ground running.
But then something whizzed by him, and he saw Tses stumble over a ledge. Now his blood was really pumping, and his heart racing as he slid for the edge, barely managing to grab her by her ankle. But his grip was slipping...Quickly, he grabbed onto her ankle with his right hand, then tightened the grip with his left. Here he was, lying on his stomach, looking down over the ledge at her. His left hand reached for the ledge, using the leverage in an attempt to pull himself backwards, slowly but surely. This was definitely not the kind of excitement he was expecting...
"I know I'm not great at picking up girls, but good God..." he muttered, her foot closer to the edge now, but still hanging there as he tried as hard as he could to pull her up. He was no power lifter, that was for sure...
Tses had a moment where her stomach dropped and her head rushed, then everything swung to a stop with a pressure around her ankle. Suddenly, combat boots seemed like a bad idea, because from experience leather wasn't something to keep a good grip on. Tses opened her eyes momentarily, and quickly closed them. She wasn't afraid of heights, normally, but when she was hanging upside down above an unfinished stairwell..
She felt a little nauseous.
"Hey... I know this is a bit much to ask right now. But don't let go... if you know, that's possible." She was light for her age, so she hoped it would work to her advantage this time. But putting her trust in a stranger was something she hated to do. Taking a deep breathe, her stomach muscles clenched and she pulled a painful sit up and grabbed the buckle of her boot to pull herself closer to the edge of the building, and grabbed at the lip of the roof. It involved painfully twisting to the side, and her ankle was throbbing now, whether from the sudden stop, or possibly the bullet that whizzed by it.

"If you fall, you rest assured I'm goin' with ya," Ty said, his native GA accent starting to bleed through now, though he'd been in New York for nine years. Some things never really changed. He continued to pull at her ankle as she twisted and squirmed, but then his right hand lost grip on her boot, but his left quickly grabbed at her arm. Too close...
Now, he managed to grab her under the arms, pulling her up to safety. Sure she was safe, he lay on his back on the rooftop. His jacket, however, was no longer draped over his shoulder. It had stayed put until he pulled off his dramatic rescue, and now it lay on the ground below, his prize possession still in the pocket. But he didn't notice that right now.
Tses wish she could say she got herself out of the situation all by her own dramatic and amazing natural abilities. She'd love to say that it was her quick thinking that saved her. But instead, she knew deep in her mind, she owed this one to Ty. And she hated owing people things. When she was finally on her knees on the roof top, however, she knew there was still plenty of problems to solve.
"For now." Tses panted, responding to his question of concern. She quickly searched for the moon in the sunny sky overhead, and prayed enough of it's energy was available for her today. Ignoring the tingles of pain in her abdomen from her sit up, she tried to think of what to do next.
Her hands gathered a glow of energy, just as the police officer reached the edge of the first building. She would have to act fast, or they would be in a much worse situation .Quickly standing, and tossing the small orb like a baseball, and it exploded before hitting him, knocking him backwards. The policeman's hand flinched on the trigger, and another shot rang out before he stumbled and dropped the gun, sending it toppling to the ground bellow. Clenching his hands together weakly, he reached for his walkie talkie, and was apparently calling for back up.
Tses grinned victoriously, and turned to face Ty. She wasn't expecting the sudden pain in her side, and glanced down, surprised to see red on the edge of her white shirt. "Awe, shit..." She cursed again, reaching out and trying to cover it before he noticed. This was the last thing she needed right now.

Ty nodded, then she threw another orb, this time at the cop who was tailing them. A cop? "Great...more publicity," he murmured. Part of him wished he could help her go on the offensive, but all he could do was touch something and tell everywhere it's been. Some use that'd be here...
Then it hit him. "I lost my jacket..." he muttered, looking down to the story below. But when he heard her curse again, he looked over to see red staining her white shirt, and the hand that was trying to cover it up. "Oh crap...We gotta get outta here. Lay low for awhile. How bad is it?" he asked, his thoughts rushing. That jacket was the last thing on his mind now. Worst-case scenario: He'd come back for it. He'd definitely come back for it. But right now, the girl with the wound was far more important.
Tses grimaced, both at his comment and at the pain she felt growing. She had a high pain tolerance, but it wasn't something she enjoyed. What she didn't need is some boys molly-coddling.
"I'm fine. It just grazed me. Staying up here isn't going to do any good, especially if he's calling for back-up. Best bet now is to go down. She nodded her head at his jacket below. "You're jacket has the head start. Come on, there should be some form of ladder up here the workers use." Ignoring any concern he might have, she moved quickly around the empty skylight, and found the half-finished rooftop door that would be used by maintenance crews. Luckily, the stairs were finished, even if the door wasn't. Pushing aside the tarp with her free hand, she nodded her head to him.
"See? Quick path down." She kept her hand tight against her side, and forced herself to walk smoothly the whole time. But her walking was missing most of it's graceful stride now. This was gradually going from harmless fun to dangerous criminal activity. Somehow, that was more familiar to her.

Ty on the other hand, was more used to mischievous, trouble-making fun. One cop, or a couple was usual, but not having to call for backup. As long as she was okay, he was okay. But heh...hurt or not she was still taking charge; apparently not the type who liked people worrying about her.
So, he followed her down the stairs, constantly looking over his shoulder or listening for another gunshot. But nothing ever came, thankfully. When he reached the bottom, he briskly walked over to his jacket, Picking it up and putting it on. The first thing he did was put his hand in the inside pocket, and sigh with relief as he felt what he was looking for. Then, he looked back at Tses.
"Okay, we need to find somewhere to hide," he said quietly to her. "And see if we can get that taken care of." He motioned to her side.
Tses shrugged, and leaned against the wall as they reached the bottom of the stairs. Her energy was slowly slipping away, both from the use of her powers, the adrenaline spikes, and now the blood loss. While he checked on his jacket, she closed her eyes momentarily and tried to stop the world from spinning.
"I'm running out of ideas... If he calls for back-up, they'll problem come from the streets, try to cut us off. And if we get in public, people may try to pick a fight just because of their hostility towards mutants. I was exactly quiet about it this time." She grumbled to herself for a second, feeling irritated she'd been careless. Forcing herself to leave the wall, she moved towards the back of the building and looked for any unfinished areas of the house. There was a piece of plastic covering another window that hadn't been put in, which made it a good place to slip out of.
"We can go though the alley for a few blocks then try to blend in with people walking past... Unless you have other ideas?" She felt the blood slipping through her fingers a little bit, and it dripped onto the ground. She needed to do something about this soon or she'd leave a trail for people to follow...

"I'm thinking," he said, scratching his head. Last time he'd suggested using one of his hideouts to wait until the heat went down, things didn't really turn out all that great. Well they turned out okay, in the end, but the middle was complicated.
"You should probably get still as soon as you can. And we should see about getting that wound doctored up. It might be serious," he said, not quite sternly but it was obvious he meant business. "Okay, we slip out through the alley, maybe find somewhere to lay low a block or two away. The less people we see along the way, it's probably better. No cops, no witnesses."
At that his gloved hands reached into his pockets, pulling out a handful of wallets. His haul for that week, of course they'd been emptied of their valuables. Walking away from the covered opening, he scattered them along the opposite side before walking back to her. "Maybe that'll throw them. Now, let's go."
He waited for her to go first. That way, if she stumbled or lost consciousness, he'd be there to at least soften her fall.
Tses watched his actions, admitted mentally he was doing pretty good considering the circumstances. He acted quick on his feet, and even with the random gunfire, it hadn't gone terribly bad. As he scattered the wallets, she admitted it was a fairly big haul.
She made it through the window, but the action pulled at the wound on her side and she felt the bleeding pick up a bit. Her shirt was gradually turning red, and she realized she needed more than her hand to stop the bleeding. "Hang on..." She murmured, and carefully pulled her over-shirt off, and scrunched it up to press against her side. Now she had just her long sleeve black tank top on which was much more form fitting. She always felt awkward in it though. "Left or right?"
