The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sara was in pain, but she wasn’t done yet. It’s a little thing called a healing factor for a reason. The man didn’t need to know that though. Her energy just keeps recovering it’s self as fast as her wounds closed. Speaking of which…
The first bullet hit it’s mark knocking the same leg that had been hit before, out from under the feline, as a result, Sara’s weight went to the other, Until that leg was knocked out from under her as well. Making her breath come in as a hiss and forcing her to give a sharp, frustrated growl of pain. Sharp teeth pressed tight together. Sara didn’t hit the floor though. Instead she fell against the counter, pressing her palms against the surface, and pushing herself up into a sitting positions.
The motion of her arms, reminded her that there was a second knife hidden under the leather sleeve on her right arm. He didn’t know about that one yet. Not to mention the rest of the various weapons tied to her leather belt. The two Sias, the rest of the throwing knives, ant the two guns, her gun, and the one she had taken from him that she considered hers now. Her belt had gotten crowded and so, things clicked against the counter serface when Sara sat down. She purposefully didn’t move for those though. Instead she skillfully removed the bullets from her legs. Wincing as she did.
"This is good quality"
“Taken from the best.” Sara said with her teeth still grit together. There. He could find more reason to punish her. She could really make his day.
"Anymore wished I can grant you?"
Get a little closer? Sara thought to herself. All the same, a smile pulled at the side of her mouth. “how about you take that knife from the couch, and shove it where it would have gone if I placed the blade up.”
Well now, thats not a very thankfulycomment. I give you the chance for a wish, yet you take it for granted by such a comment" Raven started tossing the knife up and down with a looping in the path the knife went.
"By the looks of it bullets don't do that much damage to you, you just pull em out like nothing happened, remarkable yet not intimidating. What is it you want with your life, a normal life perhaps? Become a wife and have children? No my dear that it not your path. Your path is somewhere else, where nobody will find you, nobody will come looking for you. Better said, You are nobody" Raven was threw with giving his lectural speeches. The woman needed to know her place in society, her place was death. Who would morn over such a being.
"One last thing, would your parent be proud if the could see you right now?" He hopped he could get to a painful snare in her past, that she would let him show some anger. All those smart comments were beginning to get boring, he wanted so grief and pain, even some anger, frustration. Emotions people feel when the lose somebody, yes that was what he was looking for. In the end, it would resolve to death, but that part was yet to come.
” Well now, thats not a very thankfulycomment. I give you the chance for a wish, yet you take it for granted by such a comment"
“Take what for granted.” Sara scauffed. “I really do with you would stab yourself in the arse.”
"By the looks of it bullets don't do that much damage to you, you just pull em out like nothing happened,
“They hurt enough. Does that count?” Sara tilted her head. The holes in her legs were still slowly closing.
remarkable yet not intimidating. What is it you want with your life, a normal life perhaps? Become a wife and have children? No my dear that it not your path. Your path is somewhere else, where nobody will find you, nobody will come looking for you. Better said, You are nobody"
Sara’s lips tightened. She was only just becoming someone. She was a thief and a girl friend. He didn’t need to know that. She was loved. He could grasp at straws there all he wanted. She didn’t care on that. At least she told herself she didn’t care. Her eyes glared sharper at the man, instead. Giving a tell on her emotions she didn’t like revealing and her right ear twitched.
"One last thing, would your parent be proud if the could see you right now?"
“The individuals who claim to be the ones that brought me up, would adore what I do. They would love my chosen work.” Not that Sara cared what they thought. She didn’t have parent. Didn’t know them. Yea you can miss what you never know, but maybe they wouldn’t know to miss her. So why would they be proud or disappointed.
“With what you do, someone must have cut you deep.” Come on and try me. Get close again. Continue talking because I’ve done enough without site, Sara thought. “So what? Someone already grant my wish with that knife, only with your….. lover?” Lover was nicer than what Sara was thinking. This ladies who you pay were one thought to name off. Another had to do with insulting female dogs. Yeah. Now Sara was pulling at straws in what bugged this man, but it wasn’t hard to imagine what Ayesac would do if something happened to her.. The man reminded her of that.
"If they would adore what you do, then that would make then not a hair better then you, maybe I should pay them a visit" With a smile on his face he continued listening. "Why would I cut deep, my work is for the greater good, I don't hold a grudge to wards criminals, they are just ignorant in the way's of the world. Court, that is all I hold a grudge against, but that is irrelevant."
Raven walked over to the TV and put on BBC. "Have a look, if your sight is already better, see the corruption of this world, where have people gone too, and people like you don't try to help. If your not a part of the solution, your part of the problem." Wise words that he spook, taught by the police force, that was all that was good about them, a lot of talk, that was the police, no action, just complains about lousy pay, thats when corruption hits the fragile people.
"Your mind is corrupted by greed, money, fear. You can say what you want, but fear has everybody, and that fear is what drives most of us in our actions, and you have fallen for that sin."
Sara just Sat there. Shaking her head slowly. Sight was returning at a slow rate. The man really could burn someone retina’s if he wanted to but Sara was sure the blindness wouldn’t be permanent as long as the man didn’t spent weeks straight shining bright lights into Sara’s eyes. At least that is what she kept telling herself. At least with the rest of her senses, she could track the man around the room.
As he talked, about the same thing he had been, again, Sara stuck one of her digit in her ear, cleaning out the wax and massaging the large furry lobe. “Really, You must be a fan of broken records.” She grumbled.
The light she saw, was fading into shapes, While she couldn’t really make out what was on the TV, she could now make out the TV’s shape, that was a start. And oh look who stood next to it. She glared at him, because his movement, even subtle from lifting his hand, was more interesting than a blurred TV with a screen she couldn’t yet make out. “So What. Maybe it is fear. Is fear what keeps you from answering or even addressing what I said before your repetitive speech?” Was what Sara did really based on fear? Ha! Yeah right. She based it on hunger. He had to keep his sins right there. “Gluttony.” She corrected him. Then again it could be the fear of hunger pains, but that wasn’t something she’d let him win on.
Speaking of winning, Enough talk. Sara should be leaving. She did have dead lines after all and thanks to having to do some extra healing, she was hungry. Sara pushed herself away from the counter, onto a knee that was still healing. It wobbled and she lost her balance as she walked but that wasn't stopping her. She was leaving with or with out his consent. "Thanks for the drink. Not that it hasn't been fun." Sara said as she made her way where she remembered the door out being. Ok so maybe she should sit still a bit longer to get her sight back, but the guy just droned on and on.
She walked into the couch and caught her balance by leaning against the back. Glaring at where the man had only moved slightly to adjust the TV, Sara let her hands slip under the arm rest and flipped the couch up, so that it was sort of tossed, sort of tumbled out of her way, and in the process was headed in the man's direction.
Raven smirked when he saw the woman trying to leave, and with such comment she made he had to reply.
"The pleasure was all mine" The woman wobbled and eventually bummed into the couch. What then happened was not what Raven had wanted. His couch, the one he had slept many nights on, was now flipped up into the air on coming for him. All that went to his mind at that point was, I don't wanna sleep right now!
The couch slammed into raven knocking him over to the wall into his TV he had been standing for. His hand went trough the TV and the rest of his body slammed into the wall. His black glasses shattered went Raven his the floor. A last try to get up failed and with his last breath before he went he said "You will fall" his hand that tried to reach a table fell to the ground, Raven was out.
Sara blinked. Wow. Her out bursts were never like that. Just the frustration with her site, mixed with the fact she expected her body to recover faster than it actually could. Then the repetitive talk that was just… well… ok so she exploded by throwing a couch. She couldn’t really tell if she meant to throw it at the man who captured her or not. He deserved it, but it was still unusual for Sara. Normally so calm and collected even in the old days when who knows what was done to her, and put into her body.
The sack of gem stones was held lightly in her hand. She should be making a delivery and getting paid, but the fact was, some things could wait. Because there was one thing in this room that Sara wanted, and that she didn’t have out there. A stove. The man was out cold. His heart was still beating as far as Sara could hear, so he wasn’t dead and she shouldn’t’ be too concerned because it still sounded strong. Not that she would be concerned that much. He was trying to kill her after all.
She swiped at her eyes, still trying to encourage them to heal faster. Then walked over to the stove. It had been ages since Sara had eaten anything that wasn’t freeze dried, fast food, or Chinese delivery. Her lips pressed together as she though. Looking between the stove, and the man on the ground under his couch. He had a stove, but he wanted to kill her, he had a stove but he wanted to kill her…. But he had a stove….
Sara disappeared out the door, the returned fifteen minutes later. It was a quick dash to the store where she had acquired steaks, green beans, potatoes, a large pot, and a frying pan. Yes she had exited the store without paying the cashier for the items but she had left a close equivalent to the money things cost, near the back. She was a crook but she was an honest crook. And it took a lot of stealing to be an honest crook. She set the stuff down on the counter, and glanced over at the man that had been trying to kill her. Or at least where she had left him laying.
Raven's head felt sore, and when he used his hand to check for any major wounds, there was just a big bumb on it. Rubbing the sore spot and turning his head around to see what actually happened, he couldn't remember to much anymore. One he took a good look at what was pinning him down to the floor the memory's came back That filthy animal... Raven had been out for a while, as he maneuvered himself to the edge of the couch that was on top of him, he could see next to it, but their was nobody to be seen. Had the thief really left, well he hoped. She gave him more trouble then he hoped for, and to make matters worse, she costed him a meal.
When Raven was almost done getting himself loose the door opened and our furry friend had walked in with.... groceries? The woman put down her stuff, but Raven already knew what would happen next, when to woman entered she did not even glance for a second, and she had to glance sometime, just to check. Raven played unconscious and in his head were 2 options. Wait till the woman is done using his stove, or just go ahead and kill her on the spot and prepare is own food.... The first option seemed best, and so Raven decided to keep quiet for a while, till the lovely dinner was served.
Sara started the stove up. Letting the pan get hot, then preparing the meat. She had grabbed a couple of herbs to season. Mean while her attention was divided between her work and her listening to the man she knocked out with the couch. Wow… Not everyday you could think that last thought. Knocking someone out with a couch.
Extra hearing came in handy. She had been able to count the other man’s heart beat before she had left. So while she had been preparing the food, She recounted. Unless her memory was serving her wrong, there was a slight increase? Well at least he wasn’t dead. If he were, Sara would have abandoned the meat there. Dead bodies always mess themselves. And messes like that are true torture to sensitive noses.
With the meat set, and the stove warming, Sara looked over her shoulder where the man still lay under the couch. Well if he wasn’t already awake it was time to wake him up and ask him how he liked his steak.
Sara sighed turning her head around so that her back faced him. Then out of no where she jumped straight up in the air. Sara’s body twisted and her feet angled to land on the couch’s bottom, that was up in the air. Because of the way the back and the seat bent, the hole thing shouldn’t press down on the man. Maybe part of the arm rest, depending on his position. “Wakey, wakey.”
Raven's mind was at the delicious smell of the food, when he felt some pain in his right arm, and then heard it was time to wake up according to his Cook. "You sure know how to Cook a meal..." His left arm that was still free let the lights dim, the area turned darker as 2 persons made their entrance threw what appeared the lamp. "Meet my friends"
Raven had conjured up 2 male looking figures out of light. Not that they could hurt his thief since he did not concentrate the light highly enough to make it hot, but at least it would give him a window to get out of beneath that couch and then maybe strike back. "Have fun" The 2 figures rubbed their hands and got ready for a smack down, well more of an evasion since they could not hit the female. Some nice dogging would give enough time.
Sara smiled down at his. Truth was she knew he was dangerous. It was fun though. Toying with the fire. Even if she sort of expected to go blind again. The light dimmed and she tried to tell her pupils to shrink smaller so they had a slightly better chance to fend of the light’s coming on slot. Though her pupil never really listened to the demands from her thoughts. They just did what they did.
"You sure know how to Cook a meal..."
“Sure do, when I can find a stove. You’re not going to try and shoot me again, are you? Beause I’d really hate to burn the meal.”
"Meet my friends"
“I didn’t bring enough for them.” Sara said as she glanced sideways.
"Have fun"[‘/b]
“I hate elementals.” Elementals being the braud turn that Sara used for mutants that had control of an element. Fire, Water, electricity. This one just happened to have light.
Ok so right about the couch problem. The man was under the couch. Sara was on top of the couch, his new friends had to leave, and if they didn’t the man manipulating them, who was still underneath the couch, would make a good meat shield. Oh and to add to Sara’s thoughts about the current scenario, if the couch were to become a projectile weapon of choice, it would have to be angled away from where the food was cooking because we all know that couch and steak don’t mix, in a good way.
Sara pushed off sideways turning her body horizontally in the air. So that she was pushing off of the couch. Her palms pressed against the floor first before her feet had left where they were pushing off from. Her legs followed suit with her upper bodies motion. One foot moved to lift the couch’s side off of the floor, and the other rammed it’s heal into the couch so that it spun and skipped across the floor, just above knee height, toward the light men. The entire motion was fast. Elegant, and precise. But the way Sara was kicking, she ended up landing on her tail 4 feet away from the man controlling the light. Slowing her down enough that he might have that chance she hadn’t wanted him to have. She leaned forward trying to grab for his arm.
Raven, who still underneath the couch looked up at the elegant move of the thief. The couch flipped of him and to wards his light creations. Raven got up not so elegant since his back was beginning to get sore and the woman wasn't really helping. As he looked back to where the woman was supposed to land he saw her reaching out for his arm, not a chance. Instead of she grabbing his arm he used her arm to get her out of balance, with her hand still in his, he used his foot to work as a leverage, breaking several small bones in her hand.
He flipped back on his arms to get out of reach of the woman, and in that movement grabbing a piece of glass from the the table she had broken. About his light creations, the couch hit them, Raven had let them move with the couch so it seemed more real. The light guys got back up on their feet and started walking to wards the thief, while Raven walked back to check on his meal.
He took the potatoes and started using a fork to mash them. "You don't mind that we are having mashed potatoes?" Raven smiled and kept on mashing. "You wanna join me or not?"
Pain shot through her hand. She yalped and instantly pulled back, making her hand have a second set of sharp pains. Having been pulled off of her balance, she caught it with a few steps, cursing him under her breath.
With her teeth gritted tight together, she carefuly examined her hand. Keeping the light men, where she could see them, she gingerly pressed the area, sucking in air when she felt her thumb rub over the break and making herself yalp again. Yeah painful to set a bone, but ti was better than having her hand heal before she set it right. Because rebreaking a bone was a pain in the tail.
"You don't mind that we are having mashed potatoes?"
Sara's tail flicked near her heals as she watched the light men get up and beging to come towards her.
"You wanna join me or not?"
"That depends. Are you still gonna try to kill me?"
Raven smiled, the woman had made him dinner, though she did rob a store. So far Raven only thought she was a smile time thief, he could see this one slip threw the fingers, just this once.
"The words I spoke earlier were all meant, but for this time we can sit down and have dinner, next time I catch you doing something outside the book you will pay, more then you've already done this day."
The 2 light creations vanished and the light that was damped shined bright again. The meal was ready and he was busy getting everything on a plate. "Red or white wine?" Raven walked up to the dinner table that was a bit dusty, "Sorry for the dust, my job takes a lot of time" He went over to the kitchen to get a wet towel and rubbed it over the table. The plates were ready to be taken to the table when he waited for that the woman wanted to drink.
Sara tilted her head at the reply. Oh this was funny… sort of.
“I make no promises.” Sara said regarding the theft. Truth is, the money she was earning today should last a long time. She only needed food, and cloths. No rent because no one would rent her a room or a house. Sara wasn’t proud of what she did but no one gave er honest work, so why should she play a completely honest game. Besides, when Sara was younger, she’d experienced worst.
Her shoulders relaxed a little a the light men disappeared and the lights returned to their normal brightness. Her good hand straightened her shirt and pushed the hair that was in her face, behind her ears. “You have wine but your fridge is empty?” He must be stocked up for little celebrations. Like if he had been successful in taking Sara down. Her head tilted the other way, as she absent mindedly rubbed her hand where she’d been injured. Still broken but making the blood flow felt better than swell. Even if the swelling would be short lived. The break was fusing it’s self, but it would be a little bit before Sara’s bone was fully healed. “Red always smells better.”
When the table was clean, Sara checked the food to be sure things had finished cooking. Then moved the one steak to each of the two plates. She’d bought and cooked a family sized pack. So there was still slabs of meat left in the pan. That, she covered and moved off of the burner.
