The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sara had been sitting on a ledge along the side of a building under one of the over hang well before when the rain had hit. Now, there was a heavy drum on the canvas over hang above her head. So at least she had staid dry. Doing a steak out while you were wet and cold was not fun.
Where had she been watching? The down town jewelry store of course. She needed the money and already had buyers set up via the internet. If they met her face to face she might of lost the sales. The last few days she’d watched the store to see the order that it was shut down, today there was the same order, The manager came through and collected different pieces, them moved them to a safe at the back of the store, Same with the money in the till. He greeted the night watchman, then left. The night watch man left his post for three minutes to get fast food across the street, and always returned with two big Macs and a bag full of fries.
Sara watched the manager disappear to the back of the story, Right ear pressed against the corner of the top of the glass window as she tried to decipher his sounds from the rain that was still hammering against her surroundings. The water was annoying but should other sent sniffers be involved her smell would be washed away. Everything was falling into place. Water, curse and blessing.
The manager left and Sara reached down as he passed, picking his back pocket where the jingling sound of the keys were lost in the constant drum of the rain. In the same motion she was tucked back up under the over hang. Hidden only long enough for the security guard to do his thing.
The security guard, as he had done every day for the past two weeks, appeared locking the shop, and shuffling across the street. Now was the time.
As Sara dropped down from above the low ledge, she was running a check list through her mind. Mostly things she hoped she wouldn’t use. She had assorted throwing knives, Her trusty sias, even a single little gun. Check, check, check. Then there was her snazzy little bag that hung over her shoulder close to her body for easy movement. It was almost invisible against the black tank top, and black cargo pants she wore. No boots or shoes though. Bare foot was always better when your feet were more like paws.
With a quick turn of the managers keys, she was in and headed straight for the back. Leaving the jewels that were left in the display cases where they were for now. If she had time she could smash and grab things from those. She was headed straight for the safe in back. Purposefully stepping up to the counter, and hopping over, without skipping a step. With her ear pressed against the combination safe, she could hear when things lined up, and it was open in 15 seconds. 30 more second her back bag was full of jingling gems and bills. She was through the door into the mane lobby of the store when she saw the security guard reopening the door. They both froze for a heart beat. Sara in the middle fo swinging her little black bag over her shoulder and securing it. He had hand full of fries sticking out the left side of his mouth.
As if someone had yelled go, they were both suddenly in motion. He pulled the door open and Sara dashed to the side. He had a bigger gun that hers but he wasn’t nearly as skilled. There was a throwing knife in her hand, appearing so fast with her movement, one could have thought it just materialized.
He hit the alarm with his free fist as he fired his glock with the other. Sara let the knife fly and it’s blade sank into his gun hand. Forcing him to drop his weapon. His gun skittered somewhere to his right, disappearing behind a counter full of gold set tiger eye necklaces. The guard snarled stepping back to block the door. Trying to block her exit. Though he should have known better. It wasn’t like Sara was hiding her looks. Maybe he thought he could still deal with her if she had the same type of intellect. Thing is she didn’t and seeing as she was robbing the store, he should have known that.
There was a second gun he was reaching for, but Sara was already on the move. With a round kick, his second raised weapon was knocked to the side. Sara kept her movement forward pushing off of the floor, and plowing into the guard. They both practically flew past the door, across the open walk way, and into the middle of the street. The guard grunted with the harsh landing. Sara probable cracked a few of his ribs. Not that she really cared. He posed the threat first,…. technically. She pushed away from him and let her knuckle swing across the man’s jaw when she heard more complaints.
Looking up, the two had landed in the middle of the road. Ok. And they were attracting attention. Not exactly the smoothest theft Sara had ever done. People were coming and there were sirens in the back ground, so she took off down the sidewalk till the end of the block, then ducked into a darker alley way, where she slowed long enough to listen what was going on in the next street.
(A little preplanned fun for me and Raven, but anyone can join in if they want.)
A restless night, water pouring into the streets, all you could see was shadows and rain. Murderers and criminals no where to be found, no lady in distress, nothing to south his mind, nothing to take revenge on. Walking over the streets people were covering themselves with umbrella's, or a newspaper that was bought with haste to avoid the rain. Raven didn't care to much about the rain. He was walking down the silent streets, one handgun on him, nothing more since this day seemed like a quiet day.
After a while he took place on a bench, just looking at humans, their mood was depressed, or being suppressed by fear. His own mood was rather good, but his life was empty. Nothing of murderers, or criminals had been on the news, no wild chases of cops behind him, nothing. He watched as people walked by, even one of them came sitting next to Raven. Raven gave a peek to the woman, letting his glasses down, his eye's blue, full of passion, but the more sophisticated people could see what meets behind the eye, emptiness. The woman looked back but then pointed her finger, alarms rang and 2 figures left a building. It looked like one was the security guard, the other one was unknown.
Raven looked back at the woman, that already had gotten up with her cell phone in her hand. "Finally some action"
Raven for up and started walking over to the back of this mysterious figure. One of the lanterns didn't shine anymore, the light of the lantern was now in Ravens hand and became as tiny as a little fly. The light flew over to the mysterious figure's head and started swirling around it. Raven had his left hand in his leather jacket pocket, hand on the gun ready to aim and fire.
The little light that swirling around the head of the figure was first a bit dim, but every step Raven got closer it began to shine brighter and brighter, in the end, that little light would have lit the area, but that was just thinking a head, step by step Raven moved in.
Things were gong well. Despite the guy coming back, her beating him up, and the alarm being tripped. Ok. Yeah. Things could have gone a lot better. Sara mentally kicked herself… make that repeatedly mentally kicked herself…
Ok so she still was on the move, and it sounded like the next corner was clear. She was just about to move one when light behind her shifted. She turned around as her shadow and everything around her that was dark seemed to move as well. Including a man following her… great.
The light passed in front of her face, as her head tilted, illuminating her feline featured face, and reflecting heavily in her eyes, as if they were glowing in their shadowed sockets. Showing harsher contrasts than usual in the close proximity.
Her eyes flickered as the light continued to her back and around, Throwing her face into shadow again. As he got closer, her eyes adjusted naturally to the light, pupils becoming narrower and narrower. “Yes?”
(Ooc:I posted in the Damn have to leave the MRO section, hoped you would have seen it, my computer had broken down on me )
Ic:
The small light lit her face, this was no regular person, but a mutant who's appearance was altered, though feminine. He walked closer and closer as the woman took steps back into the darkness.
"Yes?"
Raven came closer and the little light was now moving to wards him and landed in his palm. "What you did was wrong, justice needs to intervene" The light lit his face for some seconds, then damped and got away. All that he had shown was the structure of his face and his sunglasses. Slowly he reached for his back where a small gun was hidden, though his movement was visible, he would be much quicker in aiming and firing before she could make her move, all he wanted to aim for was the leg, pain and suffering would do the rest to her, maybe some extra cuts and that would be her price to pay for her crime, justice by court was long gone in these streets, violence needed to be taught a lessen, not in jail, but by pain and suffering.
(My apologies. I think I saw that post, but for some reason I thought you had come back.)
Feline eyes could see more than what the bipedal stance let one. Every time that light moved, her eyes reflected it. Dilating to adjust and fine tune how she could see her surroundings. She could make out a bit more than the structure of this individual’s face. Even the difference from his eyes and skin behind the glasses.
"What you did was wrong, justice needs to intervene"
Justice needs to mind it’s own business. “ya-huh.” The movement of his hand caught her eye and she hefted the black sack full of the jingling gems. The hand on her opposite side pulled one of the throwing knives from her belt. The guy might see her movement on her other side
The gun came out and Sara’s sight followed the movement. Her leg turned, though it still got hit making her teeth grit tight. The man’s gun was out and mirroring the move, Sara let the throwing knife fly, aimed for his gun hand so fast, it could reach it’s destination in the blink of an eye.
As the gun was pulled out it fired making the woman grind her teeth, but with action come consequence. The woman pulled out a knife and threw it, aimed for Raven his hand. Raven reacted smart and in the blink of an eye his gun fell out of his hand on purpose and the knife was catched. His years of training had done his work. "Smart, but foolish" He threw the knife back at her aiming for her trowing hand.
In the back people were closing in, watching what was happening in the dark alley way. Sirens were closing in and it would not take long before they would reach their destination. Though letting this woman here out on the streets for the police to be caught would not satisfy Raven, he wanted to help her out so more suffering could be done, but that plan was only in his head. All this thinking happened before the knife was to hit or not.
Even if her throwing the knife hadn’t gotten the completely desired effect, it did manage to complete her goal. Getting the gun out of his hand. Well it’s true about one thing. There’s more than one way to skin a cat. …. … … Bad though bad thought bad thought.
"Smart, but foolish"
“Maybe.” At least feline reflexes were good for something. The knife was headed for her hand, and with a circular flicking motion, her hand moved out of the target range, then around like she was plucking the handle out of the air. Knives were slower than bullets. She could dodge those. Speaking of bullets.
Sara glanced down at the hole in her leg. There was a current of blood seeping down to stain the front of the pant legs. Pity. She had just gotten this particular pair broken in. That and healing sucked. Healing really, really, really sucked. Especially when she had to remember where things had healed in. Who knows what types of things Sara had forgotten about only to remember later when trying to sneak through a metal detector.
She tried to move forward only to step on a shaking injured leg. So she stumbled, clapping a hand over where the bullet bit in and resided inside her leg. Leaning heavily against the closest brick wall. Ok so let him come to her. The leg would heal in the next moments. Her pant leg was still damp, but the flow out of the wound was already, drastically slowed. Nearly nothing.
Beyond him, Sara could hear the sirens, and the smells of the people looking down the alley way. There was no way she was letting any of them get too close, but she also needed to heal enough to run.
The knife did not do his work and her leg was recovering, the blood loss had almost stopped, that was to fast for a normal human, but you could not call this woman human anymore so anything was possible. ""What shall we do, continue or go away?" Raven hoped he could persuade her to back off, and then he could monitor her, for a silent strike. His invisibility had to wait till she made her decision, so in the mean while he made manipulated some street lights in the back and let them damp, so the alley way would be more darkened and the entrance of it was hardly visible.
“That depends on if your going to try and shoot me again.” He was offering to let her get away from the store easily? Odd. Sara guessed who ever this was, wanted to make sure that the justice he spoke of, was personally dished out. Great…
She was tentative, but after a short time, she pushed a step back to the corner of the building, where she couldn’t hear as much commotion. The knife was still held loosely between the fingers of her right hand, and her left was pressed against her other leg. Exactly how long could she play out the I got a hurt leg routine? Ok, right now it was still the truth, but how long would he buy it?
Keeping this man in her sight, Sara ducked around the corner, and started limping down the street, and away from the sirens. No doubt in her mind that Mr. Shiny would follow.
(Ooc: sorry for the short posts, don't really know what to write these last day's ) Ic:
The woman looked hurt, but it did not mater. She grasped her chance and looking her go around the corner Raven bended the light of himself away, making him invisible. Looking for the nearest ledge he could reach, he jumped up onto the container filled with old clothing reserved for the poor. Getting up the ledge was easy, now all he had to do was follow miss hairy to a secure place where justice could prevail. As the woman moved on the lights behind her went out.
(No worries. I just tend to type a lot a insert a lot of confusing emotion stuff.)
Well, she was off an limping. Stupid bullet from a stupid gun, fired by, well. Not a stupid human, this man wasn't human. Being able to manipulate light without the use of on off switches or flash lights didn't tend to be a human trait. So what else could this mutant do, Sara wondered to herself.
The cat girl was moving fast, despite the limp that was still in her step. Making her steps hurried as she moved across the street and into the next set of shadows. Then up the side of an apartment complex, to the roof, where she paused, taking in deep breaths and looking around. Where was he? She knew he was around because her nose didn't tell lies. her ears flicked back and forth, trying to catch the slightest sound, even a heart beat. Yeah, someone was still there. She turned to the oposite side of the building intending on taking a running leap to the next.
Raven got up a dumpster that could let him reach a ledge of a restraunts roof. He gave a look in a distance, yes there she was, let's give her a scare. Raven let all the lamp posts in the nearby area go out, and create a wall of light infront of the woman it was just ight, nothing hot, her intension of leaping over to the next building would have failed, he hoped. He wanted some more information about the woman, well acctuly he just wanted to hurt her, nothing is more fun then beating somebody up for information they do not know. While bending the light off of him, he turned himself invisible, letting him closer in on the subject at hand, getting that thief. He took a sprint and jumped over to the next building, only 1 roof away from her. While landing he made a roll to soothen the land, and started springting again. Would the woman now that his creation was fake? That it could not hold her from crossing over to the next roof? Well he was about to find out, will the light wall nail her to the ground, or will she try to go threw it.
Sara was nearly to the edge of the building when the wall of light came up in front of her. Oh walls did not feel good when you were running full tilt into them. Naturally, Sara scrambled to halt her feet. Leaning back with her feet skidding across the roof top. Her toes hit the edge of the roof so her upper body tilted forward, pushing her palms out so that they would push against the wall…… or in this case go right through it…. Ok what was wrong with that picture.
Sara tumbled right through the wall, not exactly able to stop, and not exactly making that graceful jump that had looked so good in her head. Instead she tumbled head over, then under, heals. Disappearing over the ledge of the building all together, except for her hand that could be seen where it had miraculously grabbed a hold of the ledge. She pulled herself up so that she could look at that wall, stuck her hand through it, and extended a rude middle digit to the one she assumed put it there. Then she pushed off of the side of that building, kicking down with her feet, so that she would land, with a graceful flip, on the next.
As Raven got closer he saw the woman going with high speed, and trying to stop infront of the wall, unfortunately she went to fast and went right threw it. "That was not the idea". Raven jumped on the roof with the wall and when he looked closer he saw a hand go threw it. "Shame she did not fall". He ran over to the edge jumping right beside her, when she was pushing off the building over to the same one Raven jumped on. Raven did not take any weapon to point blank at her, he had a much better idea. "Lets make this Dark". Raven damped all the light from the sun, that was pointed over her, so people could see her, in other terms, everything around her turned black. With every step she would take, she would step into darkness. Making people insane was always fun, and pain, suffering could always be inflicted after wards.
