The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

OOC: I assume it's alright for a bad guy to join in, provided I dont try and snack on anyone.
IC: Hunter Walked into the pool area, a beer in his hand. Surveying the area he saw to guys squaring off, and decided to move a little closer to them. If anything kicked off he wanted to be able to stop it, he came here to relax after all. He sat down in a lounger and took a sip of his beer. While there were many beautiful ladies, he decided not to approach any yet, he wait and see who came to him first. He lay back in the lounger, placing his hands behind his head and soaking up the sun. Having a mental chuckle at all the vampire myths that said he couldn’t go in the sun or he’d burst into flames he closed his eyes and relaxed, still keeping his ears open to hear the guys’ exchange.
Fiona chuckled as Syn burst out laughing. She smiled brightly and looked around, when she noticed a rather shady looking fellow come and join in the summer festivities. Raising her eyebrow, she nodded to Syn in a gesture of 'be right back' and approached the fellow.
She smiled reflexively as she noticed the incredibly subtle traces of amusement on his face, and decided she wanted to know who he was--after all, a party is always merrier with more friends, no?
Fiona finally neared the man and cleared her throat. "Hi there, welcome to the party. My name is Fiona Ciapercelli." she said, and crossed her hands in front of her, as she had no idea if he was the shaking hands type.
Hunter smiled and sat up. The woman before him was a vision, a true beauty. Hunter had met quite a few in his four centuries, but she put most of them to shame. “Greetings Miss Ciapercelli, it is a pleasure to meet you,” he said extending a hand, “My name is Hunter Antonescu, and if I may be so bold I have not seen a finer face in a long, long time. You are a truely remarkable woman, and I would be honored if you would allow me to buy you a drink.”
Fiona smiled as he seemed to not mind her intrusion. She blushed deeply as he lavished praise upon her, and shook his hand a little timidly. He seemed so refined and other worldly that she couldn't help but smile absent-mindedly as her thoughts drifted to her grandmother. She would be thrilled if she ever got to meet him, her words already ringing in Fi's ears:
"Now that is what you need to aspire to!" would come the Spanish bombardment.
Snapping out of it, Fiona blushed again and nodded to the man's offer.
"I'd love to. Oh, and thanks for the compliments... Forgive me, I'm a little flustered as, well, I've never really been called remarkable before--not to mention I quite love your accent. Is that European?" she asked, her own slight mix of Russian and Italian accents shining through.
Hunter smiled one of his dazzling smiles as he rose smoothly from the chair and delicately kissed her hand. “You are correct my dear, Romanian to be precise. And if I’m not mistaken yours is a mixture of Russian and Italian, quite a beautiful combination if I may say so. Now, what drink would you like?” he asked. Today was defiantly a good day to come down to the pool.

Ted walked into the party, a little nervous as it had been quite a while since he had been to any social gatherings (unless you count the ones in the houses he broke into). He was wearing a pair of shorts that he had looted some time before, and since he hadn't been swimming in far too long in his opinium, he jumped right into the pool and swam for the far edge rather lazily, as he was never a particularly good swimmer and the general laziness of the day meant that he wasn't about to try too hard at anything right now.
Fiona blushed even deeper as he kissed her hand, and then attempting to hold on to any shred of intelligence she could muster replied in correct English:
"Yes, it is actually Russian and Italian; however most people have a rough time guessing that as it has a tendency to be incredibly slurred together. And about the drink, I really need to think about that!" she giggled.
Walking with him in the general direction of the bar, she began the questioning that she gave all people when she first met them.
"So what are your hobbies?" she asked, trying to imagine what a man like Hunter would be into, and failing miserably.
Hunter knew that he’d guessed her accent right. Having spent around twenty years in Russia and over fifty in Italy he could recognise them effortlessly. “Hobbies, lets see. I’m fairly outgoing in that regard. Rock climbing, white water rafting, horseback riding, fencing, various martial arts.” None of them were hobbies per say, but he had mastered them all in his time, utilising them back when he was earned his money by carefully removing people. While he hadn’t done that in almost a century, he kept his skills honed. “I like to keep active, it keeps me fit,” he said, flashing her a smile.
“So what about you? What does a beauty like you do in their spare time?”
Fiona smiled brightly as they reached the bar and she heard him mention martial arts.
"Oh, I grew up immersed in the martial arts!" she said excitedly, and then proceeded to think about his next question.
"Spare time... Well, I love to dance. I'm trained in all the genres, however I specialize in tango, flamenco, and ballet. I also practice my martial artistry often; but in reality what I miss is the acrobatics I used to practice."
Looking to the bartender, she ordered an apple martini and sat on one of the barstools that stood around. She looked around and smiled, as it was so lovely outside. Looking back to Hunter, she realized her last sentence sounded a little off.
"I'm a part of the Krihakov Performing Tour--I don't know if you're familiar with it, but that's where I was raised." she clarified.
Krihakov, he recognized the name. It was a sword master he had known back in the eighteen hundreds, a man who he had taught several martial art forms to. Could he be the founder of this group Fiona was with? “Dancing you say? I’ve been told that I am a good dancer, but I’ve never had the chance to indulge in it, I live a busy life,” he said with a smile. This wasn’t strictly true, he was in fact a superb dancer, having danced with some of the best back when ballroom dancing was new, but if he couldn’t appear to do everything, after all, he was passing as a twenty three year old, not a man of over four centuries.
“Maybe you could teach me a thing or two some time,” he suggested, finishing his beer and ordering a cosmopolitan, it seeming more sophisticated than another Budweiser.
OOC: I hope you don’t mind the link I added with Krihakov.
Fiona nodded as she listened to Hunter deatil his dance history. She smiled in a confident fashion when he mentioned her teaching him sometime--would she ever! She thought back to the times when she performed dance numbers with her dance partners in the Tour, captivating the audiences and captivating her own crew as she became immersed in the dance.
"I suppose I could teach you a thing or two, if you'd be interested in the tango." she laughed.
She was a bit cocky put playful, thinking she had finally gotten something over this educated man. If she would have known his real age however, she would have immediately swallowed her words and recieved an injection of modesty.
Smiling with newfound confidence, she looked to Hunter, leaning her head on the arm that rested against the bar counter.
"Well, now that we know we're both adventurous people," she said, and with a bit of a blush continued: "What sort of thing do you look for in a woman?"
Fiona giggled and sipped her drink, wondering just what he would say.
Hunter chuckled at the question. “What do I look for in a woman? Hmm, let me see. Well, she would have to beautiful, outgoing, adventurous and able to keep up with my fast paced lifestyle. And maybe someone who could show me something new, like the tango for instance.” He added with a sly grin. “What about you? What do you look for in a man?”
Fiona giggled and then right out laughed as he mentioned her in a subtle way through her tango. Looking at him in the eyes, she narrowed hers before looking away, the disagreeable thought of her previous engagement lingering through her thoughts. She thought about everything her ex-fiance was: intelligent, charming, sweet, charismatic, and more than anything devoted. However, realizing that her ex didn't have the last quality and she knew that from the start, she turned back to Hunter.
"Well, I like intelligence--not just book smarts but a sense of enlightenment, a sense of true knowledge. Charisma, personality... They need to be someone I can always remember and never, ever forget. I also like a bit of a chivalrous streak, as I'm a sucker for the old damsel treatment. And I suppose to finish my list I need devotion, as I'm not willing to be toyed around with. Meh, just doesn't call my attention." she said, her last sentence being a joke.
She sipped at her martini again, thinking back to her ex and trying to rip her mind from him, the anger that welled up in her making her blood boil.
Hunter listened to her list her qualities, hearing an undertone of… something else. Her body was tensing up, he muscles tightening. He could smell the faint scent of angry rising from her. Guessing from their conversation Hunter surmised that she had recently come out of a relationship that ended badly. Deciding that further talk on the subject would lead him onto dangerous ground he changed the subject.
“So tell me,” he asked sipping his cosmopolitan, “what does a beautiful girl like you do for a living?” He didn’t want to drive her into a dark mood, hoping that the more casual topic would return her to her earlier good spirits.
Fiona smiled, feeling her anger subside as the thought of what she did for a living came up. Until recently she was a performer in the Tour, doing all sorts of acts until now, where she had come to a sort of standstill.
"Honestly, I'm your average circus performer. I do the trapeeze, the silk cords, German wheel, Russian bars, contortionism--meh, your day to day in the Performing Tour. I also did the dance pieces, sword shows... It was all there. Sword shows paid me the most, as it is generally what we are known for. It's quite an old show, and I'm glad I got the chance to be the star so often, but right now I'm unemployed. I needed to see the world and learn about my abilities, you know?" she said.
