The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“And what abilities might those be?” Hunter asked, “Beyond your stunning looks.” He finished his drink and turned to look at the pool. “Circus tricks have always entertained me, and physical feats are something of a passion of mine. I like to see what the human body can do, then see if I can get mine to do it.” He added, the faint hint of a smile playing around his lips.
Fiona smirked when he mentioned her stunning looks. "It's funny you should mention my looks... They have to do with those abilities I was talking about." she said, and with a swift grasp finished her drink.
"Do you care for swimming?" she asked, adjusting the blood red straps on her bikini.
Looking back to him, she laughed. "Well, my abilities are natural born--I can seduce men and make women adore me with more force than your average beautiful woman, hence my mutation. And physically I can do all sorts of things, from contortionism like I said before to well, swimming."
Standing up now, she placed a hand on her curvy hip.
“And can you control this ability of yours or is it on all the time?” He asked with a grin. On hearing the suggestion for swimming he rose from his seat. “Well it’s a beautiful day, and with the pool just pleading for us to swim I think it would be inappropriate for us not to,” he walked towards the pool and dived gracefully in, swimming to the other end in a few powerful strokes and turned to see if Fiona followed.
Fiona shook her head. "No, it's typically off, however there are times where my infatuation can kick those abilities into high gear, much to my demise." she sighed, and then smiled again when he mentioned swimming.
They walked to the edge of the pool and Fiona let out an audible gasp as she noticed that he dove right in with fluidity to match and rival her own. She watched carefully as he resurfaced, and with a laugh dove in in much the same manner, reaching the end where he was at just as quickly as he. However, in her eagerness to please she ended up smacking into him as she resurfaced and fell backwards disorientedly.
Shaking her head to clear her mind, she looked at Hunter and blushed a deep red.
Fiona knocked Hunter under when she hit him, but he quickly resurfaced. “Well I don’t often get girls knocking me over very often, so we’ll call it a first for both of us,” he replied with a laugh. “Did you gat a chance to swim much with the circus or did you get most of your practise out here?” he asked slowly circling her to take her in from all angles. “Because I know of few people who can match me in the water.”
"The circus, we always traveled a lot. Whenever we'd stop in a sunny locale, I'd go for a swim, so esentially I've been swimming almost all of my twenty one years."
She turned abruptly, mis-guessing his position and ended up falling into his outstretched arms. Blushing even worse now, she quickly swam away, ducking under the water. She swam a couple of smooth clean circles around the perimeter before resurfacing near the waterfall. She pulled herself up onto the grotto looking edge, and like a mermaid of sorts began to fuss with her hair making sure no tangles could get a strong hold. With waist long hair, that precaution had to be taken very often.
Fiona looked to where Hunter was with a deep glow from where her blush was, and giggled as she looked down at her legs. "I honestly don't know why I got so clumsy for a moment there... I can assure you, I'm not like that often!" she said to the man, and brought her legs to her chest wrapping her arms around them.
Hunter caught Fiona as she fell, but didn’t keep his grip, letting her swim away. She was something else. While he thought that It might be her powers, there was something about her that had him intrigued. He watched her in amusement as she swam over to the water fall. With long, slow strokes he followed, swimming across and then folding his arms on the pool edge. “Maybe I’m knocking you off balance,” he said with a grin, “would it help if I went and sat over there and let you show me what you normally do?” he offered, nodding to a lounge at the pool’s edge.
Fiona looked down at Hunter with a pouting glance, and just as quickly stood again. Diving in, she regained her usual streamlined self quickly enough to go ahead and simply swim. Swimming two quick circles around the man, she surfaced behind him and whispered in his ear.
"That won't be necessary, I think I've gotten my groove back."
Placing her head on his shoulder, she asked Hunter another question.
Hunter smiled as Fiona dived in and showed off her ability. “Well, I’ve spent the last couple of summers on my yacht in the Mediterranean, and you can’t help but spend hours swimming out there.” Taking a breath he dove down, swiftly swam underneath her and surfaced behind her. “So what shall we do now that you’ve gotten your groove back?” He asked playfully.
Fiona thought she had the situation when all of a sudden he appeared behind her. She spun around swiftly and stared at him with a face of disbelief as he had done it so quickly. She swam a little closer to him and laughed.
"Well, my groove doesn't matter much."
Swimming even closer to him, she tilted her head to the side and crossed her arms as she pondered her next statement.
"If you've been all over the place, like the Mediterranean, you must have some woman pining for you somewhere. Especially the Mediterranean, as the people there are... Fiesty to say the least."
Hunter smiled at the question. Throughout his long life he had had many lovers, but only one who he would have called his love. It had been almost one hundred and eighty years since she died. The half century that he had spent with her had been the happiest of his life, but it seemed so brief, so fleeting. He swiftly banished the memory from his mind.
“While I have travelled lots, and met many women in many countries, I’ve never made promises to any. Most likely I’ll never see any of them again, I’ve yet to meet someone who might make me stick around.” He didn’t want to darken her mood by delving into her love life, which he had surmised was a rough subject at the moment, but it might seem even more out of place to avoid it, so he asked.
“What about you? You seem to have travelled a fair bit yourself. Is there a guy out there waiting for you?”
Fiona smiled a deflated smile as she heard Hunter's question. Swimming back to the waterfall, she swam underneath the flow into the small opening that was a circular seat for about three people. Fiona motioned for him to come in alongside her, as she thought about the story behind her love life.
"Well, I have traveled everywhere pretty much. But no, there is no one waiting for me except perhaps my parents and grandmother, the latter interested in me as an etiquette experiment. I used to have a love interest before, but like some unfortunate incidents it turns out it wasn't only me that he wanted. It was more like the euphoria that my abilities can bring when I use them strongly enough."
Fiona sighed and leaned against the wall of the simulated cave, looking at the thick water the streamed down from above.
Hunter followed Fiona into the secluded spot under the water fall. He listened carefully to her tale, remembering his love. Somehow this woman was stirring feelings that he had buried for so long he’d almost forgotten they existed. “I am truly sorry.” He could not think of any other words to add. Knowing how it feels to lose someone you love he knew that words were of little comfort.
He had raged for three decades after Katherine’s death. A bloody path was carved across Europe as he sought to drown his sorrow in blood. Eventually the rage subsided, leaving him spent and hollow. That was when he crushed his heart with his mind, exerting his iron will over himself. With a new found focus he built himself into a position of power, one where he could freely explore his plans and schemes. He led a cold, calculating existence. At least, he had until now.
He was unsure of whether it was because of her powers, or because of some other reason, but she was cracking the walls he had built around his heart. While he was still in command of himself, some of his old feelings were starting to bleed through. With no words to offer her in comfort he simply sat there, and let her run through the emotions in her head, as he was in his.
Fiona looked at Hunter when he apologized and quickly enough thought to smile at him brightly.
"What's the use of dwelling on things if they're long gone?" she said, and giggling laid her head on his shoulder.
"And besides, if we're going to dwell on things, might as well dwell on good things. Tell me Mr. Antonescu, what do you want to do with your life? I mean, you can't be more than twenty-five, am I correct?"
Fiona’s voice cut through his thoughts. “That’s correct, I’m twenty three to be exact.” The lie came effortlessly, it was one he had told a thousand times. “As for what I want to do with my life, well, at the moment it is whatever takes my fancy. Having inherited the control of three multi-national companies that efficiently run themselves I don’t have to work. I have more money than I know what to do with, I at the moment I’m simply indulging in life’s pleasures.”
“Maybe one day I’ll find something to do with my time, but for now, I’m happy to just ride the current.” He gave he a smile while puttin his arm around her, “And what about you? Once you’ve gotten control of your powers where do you see life taking you?”
