The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Once again, Gawain waited in the other booth while Kate pried dresses off and on. He wondered what people in the shop thought about them. None of the possibilities were decent.
He arched an eyebrow at Number Seven.
"That's a bit... um." he smirked "You look like you'd kill someone in that. Like literally." And without mercy.
The last one was a surprise. It looked really hot on Kate, he had to admit that.
"That's one's a total win" he nodded approvingly "I feel sorry for the guy now. He's doomed."
>>That's one's a total win. I feel sorry for the guy now. He's doomed.
"What?" Kate had no idea how a dress could make you feel sorry but apparently it could.
She looked down at the dress feeling a little odd, but if it really was as good as Gawain said, she would just have to make it work.
She shooed him for the last time and changed choosing to take 3 of the dresses. She knew she could find a use for the other two on a later date.
"Would you like me to hold those at the front register for you?" the duo was greeted by a cheerful, and rather genuine looking sales girl. She offered her hand and took the dresses from Kate.
"That would be lovely thank you." Kate smiled at the girl and looked at Gawain as she walked away, "Wow they are all so nice here."
"For that kinda money, they'd better be" Gawain smirked, watching the girl walk away with the dresses. Kate made the decision realtively easily; that was a good thing, trying dresses on again and again and pondering would have turned their shopping trip into a nightmare very fast.
"Most of these things cost more money than I've ever seen together" he grinned "Although I can't be sure, I'm not used to checking price tags." Unless they had a chip built in.
"So what else do you need?... Oh, let me guess. Shoes." he rolled his eyes in a theatrical manner. "Let's go."
>>For that kinda money, they'd better be. Most of these things cost more money than I've ever seen together. Although I can't be sure, I'm not used to checking price tags.
"To tell you the truth neither am I." Kate looked around at all the beautiful things, deciding she had to come back here for regular clothes soon. Maybe pants wouldn't' hurt anyone.
>>So what else do you need?... Oh, let me guess. Shoes. Let's go.
"My favorite part, and this time I actaully get to try them on instead of point and click. I hate having to wait for shoes. Today I get the instant gratification of going home with them. I'm terribly excited." Kate practically hopped off in the direction of the shoe department.
"Yeah, prolly not for the same reason" Gawain smirked, and left it at that. He'd been in the habit of actually buying things lately instead of walking out through a convenient mirror. Weird.
>>"My favorite part, and this time I actaully get to try them on instead of point and click. I hate having to wait for shoes. Today I get the instant gratification of going home with them. I'm terribly excited."
"What's it with girls and shoes?" he muttered, following her, and smirked about her choice of words about 'instant gratification'. He'd never gotten into the habit of... er, buying fancy shoes, but if it made Kate more happy and confident, it was fine by him.
"And of course you need a new pair for every dress, right?..."
"Shoes are one of those things that every girl looks good in and they generally don't make you feel bad about the way you look if they don't. Shoes have the odd ability to be chic and exciting."
>>And of course you need a new pair for every dress, right?...
"I hadn't thought of it but that sounds wonderful." Kate moved Gawain over to a chair and sat him down, "Wait here."
She walked to a sales girl and pointed out 4 pairs and asked if she could try them on in black. She was going to go for the important dress first.
>>"Shoes are one of those things that every girl looks good in and they generally don't make you feel bad about the way you look if they don't. Shoes have the odd ability to be chic and exciting."
"Sometimes I feel like I'm not a gal, even on Maya days" Gawain sighed, giving up on ever understanding the shoe thing.
>>"I hadn't thought of it but that sounds wonderful. Wait here."
"That's what I get for not keeping my mouth shut" Gawain growled with a friendly smirk as he was pushed down into the chair. He sat back, watching Kate pick out the shoes "Is there gonna be a show too?" he asked with a cheeky grin.
"I was really just goign to try them on but we can make a show out of it if you would like."
Kate had always had a great love for the sleek sophistication pair of shoes. There was nothing like the feeling of slipping your toes into a worn in pair of pumps. They were warm and comforting, like home.
"Which one to try first?" Kate looked at the boxes the sales girl had placed in front of her as if the choice meant everything. She eventually made up her mind and pulled out a pair of simple Christian Louboutin peek-toe pumps. She slid her foot in slowly feeling the soft tan leather through her tights, part of her wished she could really feel the shoes. She watched all these people walking around the city and the mansion without socks or tights and even no shoes, in the case of the mansion. Just another thing on a long list she would never know.
She stood and moved in front of Gawain, the patten leather shining for his approval.
>>"I was really just goign to try them on but we can make a show out of it if you would like."
"Yes please." Gawainw as fairly certain Kate was not thinking about the same kind of show he was referring to, but maybe it was for the better. He was really not trying to freak her out. The fancy environment kind of brought the trickster out though.
>>"Which one to try first?"
He watched her try the shoes on. She really was something to look at, with her obsession for fancy shoes an all. Those shoes looked like they were made for the filthy rich. They looked good.
"I am not going to give you an opinion" he decided "I told you I've no clue about shoes." he smirked "Only the ones you can actually walk in..."
>>I am not going to give you an opinion. I told you I've no clue about shoes. Only the ones you can actually walk in...
"You are a girl you have to have some kind of opinion,"
Such a statement made perfect seance to them just confused the sales girl. She was admiring the shoes thinking they looked nice on the young girls feet, but after that statement all she could do was assume it was either an inside joke or he was gay. Either way she walked off confused.
"Well you can at least tell me what you think of them. I may not use your opinion at all but you can still tell me." Kate smirked back at him just like he kept doing to her.
Kate took one last look at the shoes before deciding they were defiantly contenders and moved on to the next pair. Hoping Gawain may be more useful if they were less simple.
>>"You are a girl you have to have some kind of opinion,"
"Not today..." Gawain muttered, watching the confused sales girl walk away. Great, now it looked like Li'l Miss Princess went shoe shopping with her gay bff. Oh joy.
>>"Well you can at least tell me what you think of them. I may not use your opinion at all but you can still tell me."
Gawain arched an eyebrow at the pink heels, and gave up the fight with an exasperated sigh.
"Those are actually very pretty" he said, watching her balance in them "Y'know, in a cute, cotton candy kinda way... Geez girl, how can you even stand in them? I mean, I know how to walk on stilts, but these look a lot more complicated..."
Those are actually very pretty" he said, watching her balance in them "Y'know, in a cute, cotton candy kinda way... Geez girl, how can you even stand in them? I mean, I know how to walk on stilts, but these look a lot more complicated...
"Their not so complicated. I guess you just get used to them after a while." Kate sat down and pulled off the pink heels pulling out pair fo black platform pumps, "These looked way better from far away," Apparently she really didn't like wearing anything but Christian, Rupert, and Jimmy. She opted out of them and moved on to the fourth and final pair.
Gawain shrugged, watching her browse among the shoes till she found another pair. His eyebrows ran up once again when he saw her wearing them. She looked quite classy. Not to mention friggin' elegant.
"I don't like 'em." he concluded "Ya're probably taller than me now." he said, looking up at her from where he sat, and stubbornly refusing to stand up to prove his point.
"Also, give the poor guy a chance to survive the date. These shoes are scary."
>>I don't like 'em. Ya're probably taller than me now. Also, give the poor guy a chance to survive the date. These shoes are scary.
"Scary? I do suppose that Christian rends towards the dramatic on some of his shoes, but I wouldn't call them scary." Kate took off the shoes and handed the unwanted boxes to the sales girl. She took them and disappeared telling the duo that their purchases had been brought up to the front counter.
"Alright shall we go down and pay for all of this. I can get shoes and things for the other dresses at a later date. Give me a reason to do some real shopping." As they started walking away Kate's stomachs decided to make a very distinctive voice of protest for its lack of food.
Kate's eyes widened and she blushed with embarrassment.
>>"Scary? I do suppose that Christian rends towards the dramatic on some of his shoes, but I wouldn't call them scary."
"All right so now I'm gonna pretend I didn't even hear that sentence." Gawain grinned, rolling his eyes "It's better for everyone." Because talking about fashion people as if they were your personal best friends just made the inner Trickster itch for some inappropriate comments. Nobody would want that.
>>"Alright shall we go down and pay for all of this. I can get shoes and things for the other dresses at a later date. Give me a reason to do some real shopping."
"Real shopping?" Gawain stared, mildly shocked "And what would you call what we just did for... how many hours?..." Giving up the fight he followed Kate to the counter, and chuckled when her stomach growled. "I think it's time for some delicious fast food, princess."
