The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kate looked at him bashfully, "To tell you the truth I was hoping you would know. Granted we don't' really wear the same style, but you have lived in this city for a little while. I was hoping you could help."
David pulled up in the usual car just as they were walking down the front steps. He opened the door, "Mr. Gawain," He tipped his hat to the boy and took Kate's hand to help her into the car after Gawain had already gotten in, "Lady Finch-Hatton."
Kate smiled at sat down before swinging in her legs, one tucked behind the other, "Hello David."
>>"To tell you the truth I was hoping you would know. Granted we don't' really wear the same style, but you have lived in this city for a little while. I was hoping you could help."
"And what style would that be?" Gawain muttered with a grin "All right, I'll see what we can do."
He'd just need to make sure he reconized the shops from the outside. Or he'd have to go in and scout through the dressing room mirrors. Yeah. Because that always worked out so well...
"Hey David." he nodded as they got in the car, and smirked at being called 'Mr. Gawain'. He was Mr. Morris only when he was in big trouble. "Lady Finch-Hatton..." he mimed the accent with an overly theatrical bow, grinning at her. "You really are a princess, aren't ya."
"I don't think I'm a princess. Am I? I mean I'm not actually a princess, so I assume you mean it in a none literal way," Kate was a little worried that he thought she had a princesses demeanor or something. She knew that that was not always a good thing. Princesses were known for being spoiled and rude, and Kate hoped that she wasn't those things. She thought she wasn't, but what one thinks of themselves and what one is can be two different things, "Do I act like one?"
>>"I don't think I'm a princess. Am I? I mean I'm not actually a princess, so I assume you mean it in a none literal way. Do I act like one?"
"Sometimes" Gawain grinned "And sometimes other people around you act like you are."
He looked out the window as they neared the city, wondering where the heck he should take the Princess to find a dress. Dressing up a pretty girl for a date, that was not Maya's (and especially not Gawain's) strong suit. He certainly knew what he'd like to see on a pretty girl... but that might not have been suitable for a first non-date either.
"Then again, sometimes I act like a knight." he added with a smirk.
Oh no did she really act like that. Why did he spend time with her if she did. Granted she may have done things differently then most people but that was just how she knew how to do them. Oh no. She really liked spending time with Gawain and didn't want him to stop hanging out with her if she was being overly princess like.
>>Then again, sometimes I act like a knight.
"You do. I mean you have already saved me twice now."
He could see the building panic on her face, and he smirked. She was really not used to... being around people, was she.
"Acting like a princess is not necessarily bad" he said, sitting back "At least, you have manners. And dignity. And all that stuff that people adore in royalty."
Gawain was thoroughly enjoying all this. He'd been a knight all his life, in love with myth and legend, and finally here was a girl who was pretty much a princess out of some (a fairly messed up) fairy tale. And he had to admit, her accent suited her well.
>>Acting like a princess is not necessarily bad. At least, you have manners. And dignity. And all that stuff that people adore in royalty.
This made Kate feel much better. She hated the idea of being thought of as anything but a good person. She tried very hard to not fall to the fire inside and the thought that she could be failing scared her. Thankfully Gawain was here to help. They hadn't known each other long but she got the feeling he would be there if she needed him.
>>Until you start bossin' me around, we're good.
"Well doesn't' that knight have to listen to his princess?"
>>"Well doesn't' that knight have to listen to his princess?"
"Who said you were my princess?" Gawain grinned at Kate, folding his arms behind his head "Not all kinghts have princesses, y'know. Maybe I'm on a quest."
That was actually true. He was on a quest. He had been, for five years, give or take. Of course, no quest meant constant travelling and no fun at all. Knights make stop then and again along the way to make friends, visit castles, and kill the occasional stray dragon. And then, back to the quest.
>>Who said you were my princess? Not all kinghts have princesses, y'know. Maybe I'm on a quest.
"Well don't knights go on quests to help princesses? And you are most certainly on one of those right now. It may not be your ultimate quest but it is the current one. Therefore you are my knight, unless you already have a princess." Kate look at him hopefully as Andrew floated back into her head and she felt bad for even thinking about such things when shopping for a 'date' with someone else. She liked both boys and this could be a problem. Gawain may be a girl half of the time but for some unknown reason that didn't bother Kate in the slightest.
"Sorry to interrupt your conversation but I have no idea where i am driving to. I am heading uptown I assumed, but where exactly uptown am I taking you?" David looked at them through the mirror that allowed him to see what was going on in the back of the car, while still keeping an eye on the road.
>>"Well don't knights go on quests to help princesses? And you are most certainly on one of those right now. It may not be your ultimate quest but it is the current one. Therefore you are my knight, unless you already have a princess."
"You... actually have a point there." Gawain had to agree with her logic, for the above mentioned reasons. "Although I do have a princess."
He smiled a bit as he said that; thinking of Twyla always made him smile, as cheesy as it sounds. Not like he didn't have fun hanging out with Kate; she really was a princess. Just not his princess.
"But yo are right, I can accept your quest as a temporary quest. Hunting for dress it is."
>>"Sorry to interrupt your conversation but I have no idea where i am driving to. I am heading uptown I assumed, but where exactly uptown am I taking you?"
"Exactly... here." Gawain decided, looking around "We can walk the rest of the way. Not like we were going anywhere in particular..."
>>You... actually have a point there. Although I do have a princess.
Kate watched as a goofy smile formed on Gawain's face. He must really like his princess. Even though she liked talking to him more then most of the people she mad met she had to admit she could be okay with him as a friend as long as she got to talk to him. So, she just smiled at his silliness.
>>But you are right, I can accept your quest as a temporary quest. Hunting for dress it is.
"Perfect. Though, I am going to meet her so I can inform her that I will be stealing you and taking you on my adventures occasionally."
>>"Sorry to interrupt your conversation but I have no idea where i am driving to. I am heading uptown I assumed, but where exactly uptown am I taking you?"
>>Exactly... here. We can walk the rest of the way. Not like we were going anywhere in particular...
David pulled over the car and exited to open the door for the pair.
>>"Perfect. Though, I am going to meet her so I can inform her that I will be stealing you and taking you on my adventures occasionally."
"Yeah, you should meet her." Gawain chuckled as he got out of the car and held the door open for her like a true knight (not like holding the car door open would be one of the traditiona duties of a knight, since they generally became extinct before cars were ever invented... or so they say). "I think you'd like each other."
Twyla was always cheerful, and she made friend easier than she thought.
"All right." he said once they were standing on the street "Let's just start walking, and if you see anything you like, we'll go in."
>>Yeah, you should meet her. I think you'd like each other.
"I would love to meet her, that sounds like an absolutely wonderful idea." Kate took Gawain's hand and climbed gracefully out of the car.
Kate gave a smile of thanks to her young companion and turned to David, "We will call you when we need to be picked up. Feel free to spend the day as you wish. It would just be appreciated if you stayed close. See you in a few hours."
"Of course Lady Finch-Hatton. Have a great day. Goodbye Mr. Gawain." David got into the car and drove off to spend his day doing as he pleased.
>>All right. Let's just start walking, and if you see anything you like, we'll go in.
"Thank you and that sounds wonderful. So, before I ask you all about your princess, where are we?"
>>"Thank you and that sounds wonderful. So, before I ask you all about your princess, where are we?"
Gawain smirked. Curious, was she. He decided to get Twyla to meet her as soon as possible; those two would really like each other. Curiosity was one thing he usually liked about people. It made life more interesting.
"We are..." he looked around, pulling a serious face "... in a part of New York City where dresses are scandalously expensive, and where a humble knight would probably not even allowed to enter a shop. In short, we are in your kinda place." he grinned at Kate.
>>We are... in a part of New York City where dresses are scandalously expensive, and where a humble knight would probably not even allowed to enter a shop. In short, we are in your kinda place.
Kate was happy they were where she could find something but was slightly confused by his statement, "Why wouldn't they let you in?"
Kate looked around and there was nothing special about these places They looked like little shops you could find anywhere.
So she looked at Gawain wondering if she had missed something. He wasn't dressed in any odd way. He was wearing tan pants with no rips or stains and a sweatshirt. Surly they wouldn't blame him for wanting to stay warm. So, what was it?
