The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Well I'd like to say it's nice to meet you, Micheal, but the circumstances could be a lot better."
The Ranger nodded. Meeting someone at a murder scene was defiantly a less than ideal place to meet someone. And then Sara glanced a look into the Ranger's eyes and then added,
"When things cool down back there, I will run my own investigation about what happened. I found you not far from a dead body, however most people don't stab them selves in the legs after killing someone."
"So how did you end up being stabbed anyways?"
"I was in the area and I heard a yell, when I came across the scene a mutant called Meld had a human in her grip. She killed him, I shot at her, she choked me out while her clawed limbs held down all but my left arm, and I struck her in the neck before I passed out. Which might explain why I am still alive."
"Meld?" Sara was suddenly confused. Ok so Meld hadn't exactly had the cleanest record of all humans but a week ago Meld had asked Sara about some ideas of adding some non lethal melds to her current form. If things were true, Sara was confused. What had happened to her? or had the talk that Sara had with her been nothing more than a fake front? Then again it could be Micheal who was lieing now. Sara silently reminded herself to look at the evidence later. With Meld's odder limbs and tail, it wouldn't be hard to trace her movements in her sixth sense later. For now everything that Micheal was saying made sense.
Micheal finished the short version of his story and Sara nodded slowly. "Getting punched in the neck would certainly slow someone down. even a healer." If not cause some permanent damage Sara thought to herself. "Plus Meld has no sense of touch. Hitting her wouldn't have much of an effect unless the injurry was serious, or in a pressure point." Sara said remembering her brief few days she spent trapped in Meld's body. It was completely different from the sensations she had in her own.
"Meld?" Sara said it confused. Not like she didn't know who Meld was , but more like she knew who she was and couldn't understand how that could happen.
"Getting punched in the neck would certainly slow someone down. even a healer. Plus Meld has no sense of touch. Hitting her wouldn't have much of an effect unless the injurry was serious, or in a pressure point."
"I was hoping to incapacitate her by disrupting blood flow to the brain, a weaker person would have been."
The Ranger then slid down the wall until he was sitting on the ground, taking weight off of his feet and reducing pressure in his sliced up legs. He then bounced back to an earlier point in there conversation. "By the way, you might want to be careful with how you carry my Sig. 226s don't have safeties."
