The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

At the Xavier’s Institute For Gifted Youngsters, the students and adults alike would seemingly never have any problem finding food, primarily due to the stocked refrigerator in the massive kitchen. Problem was, they probably never counted on a certain werewolf mutant and one of her full moon days eating all the food in the fridge.
The freezer and fridge doors were both wide open and wrappers strewn about the kitchen. If some one didn’t know any better they would think a hurricane went through the fridge, took all the food and blew it all around the kitchen. However, there was a clear trail of wrappers leading from the fridge all the way to a couch where a certain crimson haired she wolf lay, looking worse for wear.
Emerald’s red hair was messy and disheveled, her clothes far more torn up than they usually were and oddly enough her tradition denim jacket was tied to her waist as opposed to being worn. This was most likely because of the fact her entire torso was bandaged, from injuries unknown unless asked. Her jeans were a bit torn and had blood stains on them, it was easy to infer what sort of trouble she got into the night before. Once again, the wolf girl had managed to get herself injured and she managed to sneak out from under Doc Profs watchful eye in order to get something to eat when things clearly got out of control.
For now, the wolf girl lay dead asleep on the couch of the living room in a food induced sleep much needed from devouring the entire contents of the fridge. Though, it was only a matter of time before someone found out what the wolf girl had done and either scolded her for it or questioned her about it. Emerald herself wouldn’t know the answer to the question…at least until she remembered the phase of the moon that night.
(Okay, this post is Open, sorta it wouldnt be a great idea if people who didnt know emmy came in to see her like this.)
The best thing about the Institute? Free food. All the time. Not like Mirror had any problems with food, with her abilities, it was the least to worry about; but being able to walk into the kitchen and find a full fridge any time was a luxury she almost forgot about. ... Ummm. ... Talkin' about that kitchen...
"What the hell?!" Maya stared, standing in the doorway, scratching the back of her neck. She just woke up, in her shorts and T-shirt, hair sticking out in all directions, and she was as hungry as a shifter can get in the morning. Apparently, she was not the ony one. But eating all the food in the Mansion?! Whoever did this, he needed someone to kick his ass for it.
Following the trail to the living room, Maya stopped again, and rubbed her eyes. "Emmy?..." Ahhh. Wolf. Food. Teenage wolf. More food. It all stared to make sense. Stanging over the couch with hands on her hips, Maya glared at the sleeping girl, with her annoyance turning into a grin. Emerald looked like Trouble on two legs and a mess of red hair. Judging from the bandages, she already did the trip to DocProf, and back again. There's gotta be a story. That, however, was not good enough an excuse for eating the school's fridge empty.
"I'm gonna stand here girl till my growling stomach wakes ya up."
Being a wolf mutant had its drawbacks, being a genetically engineered wolf mutant had even more drawbacks than if she was just a normal mutant. Such as having a werewolf form that eats all the food in the fridge.
Shifting about in her slumber the wolf girl managed to blink a few times before returning to the world of the living. The Last thing she remembered was sneaking out of Doc Profs line out site in order to get something to eat, after that absolutely nothing. So when she shifted her position to an upright one with great difficulty to see someone staring down at her she looked around the room, wondering how the hell she got there.
Confusion rippled across her face for several reasons besides the obvious, one of the main ones being, Why does this new person have a very similar scent to Gawain? Confused blue eyes looked up at the ‘new’ person as she shift a little on the couch, causing her to cringe instantly.
“Owwwww,” Emerald snarled, feeling like she may have made her injuries worse just by moving. Typically, Emerald didn’t show pain but apprantly having wounds all over the upper torso were bad enough to make the pain tolerant werewolf cringe.
The wolf girl took this chance to look at all the wrappers that were left from whatever happened last night and it didn’t take long for her to put two and two together.
“I ate all the food in the fried didn’t I?” Emerald asked her new compatriot, looking up with guilty puppy eyes. “Aww man I'm sorry, I didn’t mean to do you want me to go get ya something to eat, I got some food up in my room if ya want.”
Yeah, that sounded exactly as she looked. Maya/Gawain had been beaten up pretty bad before in her life; she could relate.
"Easy, wolf girl, ya're in no shape to dance around" she grinned, sitting down onto the arm of the couch "Rough night, huh?"
>>“I ate all the food in the fried didn’t I? Aww man I'm sorry, I didn’t mean to do you want me to go get ya something to eat, I got some food up in my room if ya want.”
Maya chuckled. "I'll survive somehow, don' worry about it. We should probably clean up though before the other students find the trail ya left and decide ta hunt your ass for it."
Slipping off the couch, she picked up the boxes and wrappers scaterred around in the living room. "Gotta tell ya, I do get hungry at night sometimes, but this is superhuman. Is it full moon or somethin'?"
She was joking. Yeah, right. Emerald was a mutant, not a mythical creature. Besides, if she was a real were, the stuff scattered around probably wouldn't have been wrappers and boxes. Uh. Better not think about that.
Apparently, her new friend was going to help her out with cleaning up the boxes, something that Emerald was glad for. The last thing she needed was one of the students getting angry at her and hunting her down. Knowing her temper it probably wouldn’t end well for ether of them. Wait did she just say something about the full moon?
“Oh shit,” Emerald growled in response to the full moon comment. “It is the full moon tonight that explains a lot.”
Em shook her head, felling stupid for not realizing it sooner, tonight was a wolf moon. It would explain so much about her morning it wasn’t even funny. Standing up with great difficulty, the wolf girl leaned on the couch a little bit, gritting her teeth in pain.
“Damn anti mutant mobs with their damn torches and pitchforks!” Emerald snarled, her irritation and pain clearly shining through her voice. It took her several moments but when she managed to calm herself down she said, “I am completely fine.”
Which was a lie and a bad one too, Emerald typically wasn’t this bad of a liar or someone who wasn’t able to hide her pain, but on wolf moon days all the rules changed
>>“Oh shit... It is the full moon tonight that explains a lot.”
Maya blinked, and turned to look at Emmy. Was she kidding?... Apparently not. Or she was very good at playing pretend.
"Wait, that fool moon stuff's real?" she asked, arching an eyebrow "Whoa.... um. Yeah. Actually I think 'tis a full moon night."
What do you know.
>>“Damn anti mutant mobs with their damn torches and pitchforks... I am completely fine.”
"Uh-huh, sure ya are." Maya smirked, stuffing the garbage into the trash can before walking back to the couch "Now that sounds like an adventure. Ya got chased?..."
Emmy looked even worse now that she tried to move. ven for someone who could turn into a wolf... she was still a girl. "Take it easy, Emmy."
“Yeah the full moon stuff is real for me alright, at least ever other month.” Emerald replied, still feeling dumb for not remembering that today was a full moon. This is when the werewolf had some what of an epiphany. With a curious look on her face and a tilt of her head blue eyes looked up at her new comrade. “Wait a second, are you and Gawain related or something? Because your scents are almost exact. Except you are a girl and hes a boy.”
Emmy took this chance to lean on the couch a little bit, trying her best not to fall over or anything, despite her body screaming in protest from movement. Honestly, she has had worse injuries before on days like these but apparently being burned by torches hurt more in the long run than being shot five times.
“They were chasing some kid and that sort of shit really pisses me off so I ran up to one of them punched him in the face.” Emerald grinned that wolfish grin, just before a a twinge of pain made it through her body. “There was about eight of them and it turns out that being set on fire isn’t the most pleasant thing in the world, nor is being stabbed with a pitchfork several times, But I didn’t care the kid got out, I beat the shit out of stupid people and all is well in the world.”
Well of course with the exception of the fact she was probably going to turn into her third form within the next 24 hours but otherwise, the world was relatively alright for her at least. Being the person she was there was no way she was going to let anyone be attacked by an angry mob on her watch. Even if she wasn’t dressed as shred, she was still a Vigilante through and through.
“But this is nothing, I have had way worse than this. I have been shot, electrocuted, bludgeoned, nearly torn in half, broken all the bones in my body and a hell of a lot of other stuff I can’t remember at the moment, but still I have had worse.” Emerald explained, listing off her grocery list of injuries, taking special precautions not to mention to many of the wounds she had gotten in the labs, that would have led to some questions she did not want to answer.
Deciding it would be best if she sat down Emerald moved to sit down on the couch, feeling pain explode from torso. Gritting her teeth and letting out a muffle growl of pain she sat back down on the couch, body throbbing in pain.
"Damn, maybe they stabbed me more times than I thought they did." Emerald groaned, feeling like hell.
>>“Yeah the full moon stuff is real for me alright, at least ever other month.”
"No sh*t." Maya grinned. So all those werewolf stories did have some truth to them. This was even cooler than she'd thought.
>>“Wait a second, are you and Gawain related or something? Because your scents are almost exact. Except you are a girl and hes a boy.”
Ouch. She completely forgot about that. "Yeah, um." she scracthed the back of her neck, a sign of nervousness "We..." do I really need to lie? "... you can smell that huh." she smirked and shrugged "Same person. Different body. Gender shifting. 'nuff said." More than enough, actually.
Maya listened to Emmy's story about her night. It was impressive, to say the least. Looked like the wolf girl was proud of it too, down to the war wounds she got in the fight. She had a reason to be proud. Maya would have been proud too. She decided she liked Emmy.
>>“But this is nothing, I have had way worse than this. I have been shot, electrocuted, bludgeoned, nearly torn in half, broken all the bones in my body and a hell of a lot of other stuff I can’t remember at the moment, but still I have had worse.”
Maya's other eyebrow went up too. "Whoooah. Talk 'bout child abuse." she shook her head "Ya're one tough gal, Lady Emerald."
>>"Damn, maybe they stabbed me more times than I thought they did."
Maya smirked "Sit down already and stop wrigglin' around. Haven't ya been healed by the Doc yet?... Maybe I could take ya back dowstairs to him."
Wow, so new chick was Gawain except in chick form, now there’s something she didn’t hear about every day, a gal and a guy in the same body. Interesting, very intresting, to say the least. Emerald had to rack that up there as one of the more unique powers she had heard of, besides the stuffed animal kid.
“Oh, so you can do that side ways tango both ways, that’s interesting.” Emerald said, thinking deeply about this. “But that would be a problem if ya fell asleep after bumping uglies with someone as one gender ad woke up another. Man, wouldn’t that make for some awkward conversation?”
Upon being called tough, Emerald puffed up her chest in pride. Em loved being called tough; it made her feel like a total bad ass. She was beginning to like Gawain’s chick form as much as her male form. Upon the mention of the Doc the wolf girl shook her head vehemently. As much as she loved the old coot, she didn’t want to be healed just yet.
“Nah, I already snuck out there twice, despite the fact I really do trust Doc, I really hate doctors and being anywhere near any medical equipment gives me the urge to bolt. Besides he would probably get onto me about not remembering that today is a full moon and for sneaking out while I was still hurt.” Emerald replied, not noticing how hard she was clenching her hands into fists. Her memories of past experiences at the hands of a ‘doctor’ still traumatized the young wolf girl, despite it already being three years since her escape from that hell hole.
“Doctors and Me have never exactly gotten along to well. Just ask my baby sister she will tell you how I used to bark and fight whenever we all went to the family practice” Emerald laughed a little, that wolfish grin appearing on her face. Her thoughts of any negative things being pushed out by the thoughts of her family.
>>“Oh, so you can do that side ways tango both ways, that’s interesting. But that would be a problem if ya fell asleep after bumping uglies with someone as one gender ad woke up another. Man, wouldn’t that make for some awkward conversation?”
Maya's mouth hung open for a minute (maybe two) - now that was a blunt way of putting it, and right to the point too. Apparently Emerald was not very shy when it came to topics like this. It was a welcome change; every time she told someone about the shifting, she could see in their eyes they were all thinking the same thing, but no one actually dared to say it. She grinned at the wolf gir.
"See, that's why I never stay the night."
She never did. That 'never' happened exactly on one occasion, but that was not the point. Finally someone who didn't make a fuss about Maya.
>>“Nah, I already snuck out there twice, despite the fact I really do trust Doc, I really hate doctors and being anywhere near any medical equipment gives me the urge to bolt. Besides he would probably get onto me about not remembering that today is a full moon and for sneaking out while I was still hurt. Doctors and Me have never exactly gotten along to well. Just ask my baby sister she will tell you how I used to bark and fight whenever we all went to the family practice”
Maya nodded. "Yeah, he does that. S'mtimes I think he decided all of are his own kids or somwthin'. And if ya'd rather stay beaten up, I guess 'tis your choice. Somethin' tells me ya'll survive." she added with a smirk.
A grin swiftly crept upon Emerald’s face at mirrors surprise; she had a feeling something like that would happen. At first she was worried she had offended the Mirror teleporter but luckily she was proven wrong by the girl’s statement of why she never stayed the night.
“Well it could be worse, hell, gods forbid I ever get in the sack and my powers mess up somehow because I’m one shift away from making things rather beastly if ya know what I mean. Though, I gotta wonder what would happen if something like that happened to the stuffed animal kid. I think he’s got it worse than ether of us.” Emerald tried her best to shake those lovely thoughts out of her head.
For once, someone finally left her alone about not going to the Doc and someone who felt the same way about the Doc as she did. He really did treat the students as his own, but the thing was that a lot of times they didn’t need a parent as much as they needed a mentor. That’s what Emerald had in Tricity before she went off with her child to live a more normal life. The head mistress was really a great mentor to Em and typically she managed to influence the wolf girl to do the right thing, she also turned her head the other way when Emerald went off for the sake of justice.
“Yeah I’ll live, I will probably get an earful for it, but I’ll live.” Emerald returned the smirk, smelling the air a little, she grumbled in disappointment when she couldn’t catch the scent of anything interesting. “Doc’s a real bleeding heart for ‘rebellious teens’ and in the three years I have been at this school he still has had a hard time figuring me out.”
There was a pause and then a thought which made the wolf girls tail wag eagerly. That evil wolfish grin crept across her face, signifying she was clearly up to something or another.
“We should go out and do something, because if I end up going werewolf its best I don’t do it in the mansion, less likely chances of there being any casualties or injuries or any odd questions when I go from 5’8 athletic teen to 10 feet tall terrifying werewolf.” The look on Emerald’s face was that of a playful puppy. She removed her jacket from her waist and carefully inserted her arms into its sleeves, sliding it on. With a grunt of pain Emerald managed to get her lucky back on her body causing her grin to grow. “Old Faithful is back on so now I am defiantly ready to do something, like chase a squirrel or kill a deer!”
>>“Well it could be worse, hell, gods forbid I ever get in the sack and my powers mess up somehow because I’m one shift away from making things rather beastly if ya know what I mean.”
"Yeah, 'one shift away' from messin' up sounds 'bout right." Maya nodded with a small frown. She could relate. Gawain could even more. Damn.
>>"Though, I gotta wonder what would happen if something like that happened to the stuffed animal kid. I think he’s got it worse than ether of us."
Now that was an interesting statement. Since the wedding, Maya didn't really think about Ted, he was one of the many students who lived their own lives around her. At Emmy's statement, a wicked grin spread on her face. "Well, y'know, they can always cuddle."
>>“We should go out and do something, because if I end up going werewolf its best I don’t do it in the mansion, less likely chances of there being any casualties or injuries or any odd questions when I go from 5’8 athletic teen to 10 feet tall terrifying werewolf.”
"Geez, thanks for the heads up" Maya grinned at Emmy; even with all the tough stuff, it was still hard to believe she could change into something like that. Well, she'll see, eventually. Hopefully.
>> “Old Faithful is back on so now I am defiantly ready to do something, like chase a squirrel or kill a deer!”
"Show me a deer in this neighborhood and ya can kill it." Maya chuckled "But yeah, I definitely need to punch or break somethin', so I'm game. Stay right here."
Walking into a nearby mirror, Maya disappeared for a few minutes, returning soon dressed in cargo pants, jacket and sweatshirt, ready to go.
"For the record, wolfie, if ya pass out from y'r injuries I'm not gonna drag y're pretty ass back here." she grinned at Emmy "Let's roll."
Emerald grinned at Maya, having a feeling that this was a beginning of a beautiful friendship. The wolf girl stood up, just quickly enough to cause herself pain. Emerald growled a bit just before she shook it off, that adamant look returning to her face. She grabbed Maya by the arm, practically dragging the girl to the garage with her.
“To the Green Machine!” Emerald exclaimed, referring to her speedy motorcycle.
'Let's roll' soon turned into 'rock and roll'. Maya was glad for once she never learned to drive - this way she only had a vague idea about how many rules Emmy broke on their way downtown. In broad daylight. In her condition. On that bike. Yeah, 'vague' was good. Ignorance is bliss. Maya was not exactly big on rules either, but the wolf girl seemed to be Reckless on legs now, and Maya was not sure if it was some kind of side-effect of the full moon, or maybe she was just built that way. There were two things their day could go: they either die on their was downtown, or they survive and have wicked fun. Either, or. Not a singe chance of a middle way.
Of course they survived. Makes for a better story. Emmy seemed to have great talent in finding the worst neighborhoods in no time at all; when they finally stopped, Maya could already feel the tingling sensation in her stomach that was not (just) the effect of the wolf girl's driving habits. At places like this, you know the Big Brother is watching you. And he has guns. You also know, even in broad daylight, that you are meant to be somewhere safe miles away, right now, if you please.
Maya grinned as she got off the bike. Perfect. No better cure for all kinds of crappy girl problems than raising a little hell.
"So, Capt'n, what's the big plan? Did ya bring the picnic basket?"
Driving like a mad woman was defiantly one of Emmys less desirable traits, but it was a good way to get where you are going and fast. Once they made their way downtown and in the neighborhood ‘Shred’ typically patrolled the wolf girl grinned like a loon at Maya, removing her helmet. She pressed a small button on the bike and a small beeping noise followed. Apparently, the wolf girl had a kind of security system on the bike, which was good in a place like this. Emerald placed the bike in front of a small dinner that was only a few steps away.
“Nope, I forgot it at home, but we can eat at Moe’s if you want.” Emerald told Maya pointing to the dinner she put her bike in front of. “They know me there and sometimes hoodlums go and harass them, I kick their ass, I get free food”
Emerald shrugged as if it was no biggy that she beat the ever loving crap out of criminals in her spare time, but it didn’t seem that way to her. It was all part of being her, she loved helping people and beating up idiots was part of helping someone.
“As for a plan, we could eat or we could keep walking, you and I are a walking pair of Possible things to have sex with. We are also mutants, or at least I am noticeably one, so we are bound to find someone who wants to give us some trouble.” Emerald explained, “Besides two bad ass girls with nice looking bodies are prime candidates for idiots who think they can be our lovers or what have you.”
Emerald made a gagging noise at the thought of being anyone’s lover that decided to lurk around these parts. This place though was a perfect place to let of steam and beat some dumb asses up.
((would you like to make stupid baddies come in or shall I? I have yet to see your stupid sexist boy npc skills yet))
