Scars/ Tattoos/ Piercings: Several piercings in both ears, as well as a bellybutton piercing. She also has a tattoo across the back of her shoulders that resemble
Maori-inspired wings and another on her left arm of a pair of hanging boxing gloves. On her other arm she has crest of a lion, the old symbol that her father used to wear on his boxing trunks.
Other features: She has a small, practically unnoticeable scar on the bridge of her nose where an opponent sucker punched her during a sparring match.
Everyday clothing style: Jeans, t-shirt, and various other loose tops that can hang off of her shoulder. Winnie believes in comfort and therefore will rarely be found in dresses or pansuits unless it is for an important function. Even then, she will usually try to “Winnify” things by adding accessories that wouldn’t normally go with such clothing.
Uniform: None. Being a freelance photographer she usually doesn’t have wear anything specific. Unless she’s been hired to do a function, then she dresses how she is requested to dress, which will normally just be a badge of some kind.
Sleepwear: Oversized shirt and boy shorts.
Miscellaneous clothing: She has a short leather jacket that used to belong to her mother. It is one of her favorite jackets and she tends to make it work with everything she wears.
CharacterPersonality: Winnie is a bit of a free spirit and always will be. Hailing from California and touched with tragedy early on, most people believe her to be a strange walking combination sunshine and sarcasm. She can usually be found with a sneer on her lips and a delightful twinkle in her eye. Most people cannot handle her sarcastic commentary, but for Winnie, if you are able to survive through that, then you have the right to be called a true blue friend. And, if we’re being honest, she is probably the best friend that someone can have.
Winnie wears her heart on her sleeve. She is bold, forward, and loves to flirt. However she also is afraid of getting hurt. Having lost her mother early one means that Winnie makes it tough for people to get close to her, on purpose. But those that do will find a good friend who is always willing to share an adventure, who will laugh with them, cry with them, and take on the world by their side. However, be forewarned that when Winnie feels the wind blow in a different direction, she will more than likely take the opportunity to go.
For as sweet and fun as she can seem, Winnie is a rather crass at times. Having learned to fight from her father has given the young woman a type of competitive edge. She doesn’t take losing as an option and will just keep pushing herself until she can achieve victory – or she gives up due to sheer exhaustion. She does also have a foul mouth, especially when she is being competitive, is frustrated, or annoyed. Oh the strings of obscenities that can fly from her mouth is both magical and terrifying at the same time, but it is a finely woven thread in the tapestry that is Winnifred Ann Wickham.
Hobbies/ Interests: - Photography – She went to school for it, is always found with a camera on her, and considers herself a true shutterbug.
- Boxing – Not only does she regularly practice, but she is an avid watcher of the sport and has her own opinions about fighters, most of which she will gladly get into an argument with.
- Actions Movies from the 80s and 90s – She loves cheesy action movies and will regularly quote them at the most appropriate of times.
- Animals – She does absolutely adore animals and will gladly stop traffic to go out into the middle fo the road to help one across the street or take it to a humane shelter.
Job or part time job and description: Freelance Photographer
Fears/ phobias/ concerns:- Being Alone—Winnie is not a lone wolf, though her attitude may make it seem that way. Truth is that the photographer would actually rather have the presence of other people. She loves to make friends (even when she is extremely sarcastic to them) and prefers to fill her day hanging out with others. Sadly this is because she fears being alone. Already left by her mother at a young age, and witnessing what it did to her father, she knows she doesn’t want to be alone.
- Dying of Illness—Though she was very young, Winnie does remember snippets of what her mother went through, little pictures of her in health vs the end when she was frail and sickly. She doesn’t want that for herself, not in anyway. Therefore she tries to keep taking care of herself and hopes and prays such a fate does not befall her.
- Stuck—Because her mutation occasionally forces her to transform against her will, she fears that she will eventually get stuck like that. As much as she is glad to be a part of the mutant community (even if her gift is essentially useless, according to her), she does fear that one day she is going to change and she won’t be able to change back. Seeing as this state is dependent on her fear reactions, sometimes this can take a while for her to calm down enough shift back.
- Clowns—Ugh! The laughing, the make-up, the oversized clothing, talking about a hellish thing. Winnie does not care for clowns in the slightest and will usually go out of her way to avoid them.
Special talents: Aside from boxing, Winnie is both an educated and skilled photographer. She has a knack capturing moments perfectly on film (
or digital, as she prefers). On top of that, Winnie rides an orange Vespa that she has nicknamed “Orange Thunder”, and while she can drive a car as well, she is more adept with her Vespa.
MoralityGood/ bad/ neutral/ other: Good-Neutral. Winnie considers herself a good person. She doesn’t like to see bad things happen to others and will normally go out of her way to ensure that people are safe and happy. However she does know that sometimes the lines need to be blurred in order to ensure the safety of others.
MutationsMutation description: Flightless Bird Shifter- Yes, that is her power. While it may not sound like the most powerful or glamorous of abilities, it, in fact…totally isn’t. While there is potential down the line for her power to be somewhat cool, at the moment, Winnie can only turn herself into a small and unassuming Kiwi bird. With a thought (
or sometimes as a fear reaction), Winnie turns into a Kiwi at the drop of a hat and, like all mutations, it has both its pros and its cons.
Strengths:- Small Frame—One good thing about Winnie’s ability to shift into a kiwi bird is that it makes her incredibly small. Kiwi birds are no taller than a foot-and-a-half, with a rotund body, the kiwi is fairly small and easily allows her to hide. Of course, once seen, it doesn’t take a person long to realize that something fishy is going on as kiwis are not exactly natural to the majority of the world. Still, a nice thick bush or shadow alcove, and none would realize she is there.
- Incredibly Fast—Though not on par with a roadrunner by any means, the kiwi can run at speeds of about 15 mph, the average for a full grown human. Given the smaller size, Winnie possesses great agility in her kiwi form and can run and dodge around predators, people, and obstacles with the best of them.
- Instanteous Transformation—Unlike some shifters who transform either painfully or after a period of time, Winnie’s transformation is instantaneous. Where one moment you are talking to a full grown, twenty-year-old woman, the next there is a rush of air and the sound of a bubble popping and there Winnie the Kiwi is. This is useful, especially if she needs to get away from an opponent as it doesn’t take her any time to shift. Additionally in a fight, she can easily switch between forms to get around her opponent for a quick sucker punch or two.
- Inanimate Object Shifts—Thank god her clothing shifts with her. When Winnie transforms into KiWinnie (Kiwi!Winnie), her clothing, jewelry, even her cellphone will transform with her. At most it just appears as darker colored feathers upon her body, and she has no access to them, but at least she won’t lose her phone anywhere. When she shifts back to human, everything is shifted back to where it once was.
- Human Voice—The absolute best is that Winnie can still talk in her human voice while in kiwi form. No awkward chirping or cries (unless she willingly does them). This grants her the ability to pass along information or hold a conversation while still a kiwi. Plus, it totally freaks people out who aren’t expecting it.
Weaknesses and Limitations:- Frail Body—For as swift as she is, Winnie does have a much frailer body when she’s sporting the KiWinnie form. If someone manages to hit her, grab her, or toss her about, it will definitely hurt. Kiwi bones do have marrow and are not hollow, but still she is much smaller and bones could be broken more easily.
- Startled Transformation—She’s not proud to admit this, but, sometimes, when she is startled and her fear levels spike, Winnie will instantly transform into a kiwi bird against her will. Part of the fight or flight reaction, when Winnie is deeply and truly scared, she will instantly transform.
- Stuck: Sadly when Winnie is startled into transformation, she remains stuck like that until she calms down. This can be difficult as it only ramps up her anxiety, making her fearful that she won’t transform back. This is why, on occasion, when Winnie is particularly stressed, roommates, friends, lovers, etc., will find her pacing in her kiwi form.
[li]
Kiwi Time Limit—When willfully transforming into KiWinnie, Winnie does have a time limit in that she can only maintain this form for about an hour. After that, it gets too hard to hold and, whether she’s ready or not, she will instantly transform back into human. However, if she transforms between each form multiple times in an hour, she will get exhausted more quickly and will eventually have to rest. Multiple shifts cannot be sustained for more than 30 minutes.[/li]
[li]
Confused Senses—At initial transformation, there is a momentary bout of confusion where the young woman has to get her bearings. It only lasts for a few seconds, but it is enough to where she could be caught off guard. She is getting better at handling the shifting but there is a still a moment where either she loses her hearing, her sight is blurred, etc. [/li]

Physical AbilitiesGeneral Physical Capabilities: Winnie is actually pretty lean but has the body of someone who works out fairly enough. Her musculature is pretty solid but not overtly so. She has strength, stamina, and dexterity of a young woman of her age who takes care of herself and works out regularly. Her body is just a little hardened thanks to the boxing training she has received from her father since she was in grade school and she has only kept up the habit since.
Fighting Style: Boxing (Out Boxer Style). Her father was a semi-pro boxer who moved to the USA and opened up his own gym and training center when he retired from the ring. At an early age, especially because of the death of her mother, he took it upon himself to teach Winnie in the ways of boxing. Her father, a self-identified practitioner of the Slugger style, taught Winnie everything he knew. She ended up taking on an Out-Boxer style with calls for fast moving and to stay out of reach while she tires her opponent and gets in shots with her longer reach.
Fighting Style Pros/Cons:- PRO: Winnie has an unsuspecting skill about her. No one would really look at her and believe her to be a fighter. She uses this to her advantage, usually doling out a few combos and felling her opponents before they know what hit them.
- PRO: She has been practicing since she was eight years old and does continue to train. Winnie knows what she is doing, she can read other fighters, and she can use that to her advantage.
- CON: Someone who is physically stronger, able to take a punch, will easily be able to overpower her.
- CON: Winnie is a practiced boxer but she doesn’t have a lot of experience out of the ring. She has had to defend herself before and done so successfully, but against a street fighter or someone who has mastered a different style, it will be a difficult time for her.
History Of Your CharacterWinnifred Ann Wickham is the only daughter of Samuel and Anna Wickham. Samuel, a semi-pro boxer from England, moved to the U.S. in his 30s, settling in Los Angeles, California. It was there that he met and promptly fell in love with Anna Baker, an international student studying at the University of Southern California. The love affair because Samuel and Anna was a passionate one, one that immediately changed the two individuals lives for the better. It was only a year or so after Anna’s graduation from the university that she agreed to marry Samuel.
The two had a fairytale romance. They loved each other, through thick and thin, and through their love Winnifred was born, named after Samuel’s grandmother who had raised him back home. With Samuel retiring at an early age to focus on more on training and, therefore, provide a more stable life for his family, everything seemed to be going well – that is until a fateful visit to the doctor’s office.
The cancer was an aggressive one and Anna was given less than a year to live. However, being the bright ray of sunshine that she was, Anna would not let the news destroy her family. Though Winnie was only four-years old at the time, she made sure to cherish every moment, every laugh, every tear until the inevitable time where she would meet her maker. The doctors gave Anna six months – she lived another two years before she finally succumbed to her illness.
Life for Winnifred was difficult, but not impossible after that point. Though she was only six-years old at the time of her mother’s passing, she can still remember her face. Her father, Samuel, only kept himself together thanks to the fact that he had a daughter to take care of. With the responsibility of raising her on his own, Samuel plowed through his depression and did what needed to be done for the sake of his family. When she got older and looked back at what her father was able to accomplish, the feats of strength that he found in the midst of his own grief, she realize just how much she admired the man.
Growing up in the Wickham household was difficult, but it was also rewarding. Samuel didn’t earn a lot of money from training, but it was enough to keep a roof over their heads and food in the fridge. Winnie learned to appreciate the simply things in life, never needing or even wanting designer clothing, the latest electronics, or fancy jewelry. As a matter of the fact, the thing that she loved most about her life, despite the simplicity, was the fact that her father took an early interest in training her in boxing. And she took to it like a duck to water.
In her teenage years, on the cusp of becoming an adult, Winnie found that despite her lack of owning the latest technological wonders, she actually had a knack for photography. A creative soul just like her mother, with the tenacity and stubbornness of her father, Winnie found herself a rather eclectic young woman with tastes that seemed to vastly differ. However, despite what others may think of her, Winnie grew up rather happy with herself – that is until she discovered that she, was in fact, a mutant.
Winnie and her father never had any problems with mutants. The truth was that Winnie actually looked up to them a bit. Though she wasn’t an obsessive fangirl by any means, she was thoroughly impressed with the abilities that they possessed. Who wouldn’t want to be able to fly or lift cars with one hand? Who wouldn’t want that tiny tinge of power, that little tweak to their DNA that made them different than anyone else? It was like an impossible dream, a genetic lottery in which she would only ever have one ticket. But, when she discovered at the age of eighteen that she was in fact one of those noble ranks of mutants – it wasn’t exactly what she expected.
Freshman year in college. Winnie was out studying late for a very important exam when she was jumped by a pair of hoodlums who had wandered too close to the student dormitories. A fight broke out as the two men didn’t realize that she had been trained by her father in boxing since she was at least eight, but one a knife was drawn, she knew better than to push her luck. She ran. A chase was involved, one in which Winnie feared for her life, and it was that fear that drove her mutation to activate. There was a sudden compression of air and before she knew it, she was much lower on the ground and every looked completely giant. She blinked in confusion but stumbled across a hiding space in some bushes where she waited for her pursuers to run back and vanish into the night. It was only when the men were gone that she craned her head and blinked to look at herself as best she could – she didn’t care for the sight.
Without realizing what had happened, Winnie, now in the shape of a small, brown feathered kiwi bird, wandered out of the bushes where she was immediately picked up by a passing biology student. A mystery, to be sure, the student was ready to bring Winnie back to the labs until her own, human voice rang out with an accented “Oi! You better bloody well put me down!” Winnie was dropped and landed on her rather round posterior and shook her ping pong ball sized head as she watched the student run off in terror.
Fearing that she would be stuck like this, Winnie picked herself up onto her own two feet, trying to decide what to do neck when there was another ‘POOSH!’ and poof, she was sitting on her but in her regular human form, completely clothed as she had been before she changed. With her heart rate returning to normal, Winnie looked at her hands and, the realization of what she was coming to fruition before she shouted. “Are you ****ing kidding me?”
So, yeah, Winnie’s arrival into mutanthood was a bit bittersweet. She loved the fact that she was special but the fact that she was a goddamn kiwi bird shifter was downright ridiculous. But, it wasn’t exactly like she could do anything about it so she swallowed her pride and accepted this about herself. The first person she showed was her father who, after laughing hysterically, admitted that it was pretty cool but informed her that she needed to be careful. Winnie, of course, agreed and decided to move on with living her life.
Once she graduated from college, Agnes knew that she wanted to try living elsewhere. As much as she loved California, there was so much to see in the world. Samuel, of course, loved his daughter dearly and could see the wanderlust spirit of her mother in her, agreed to help her in any way that he could. Deciding that she wanted to live in New York for some time, Winnie uprooted her life in California, and moved to the bustling metropolis on the east coast. What adventures would await her? She didn’t know but she is excited to find out.

Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: Jorge Cervantes ,
Belladonna Honey ,
Booker B. Bookman ,
Kristoph Karlson Sample RP:Man, **** Brenda for making her do this. Winnie wore a scowl upon her face that could have easily made the bravest of men cringe away in fear. Her nose scrunched up, her eyes tight and focused on the glow of the laptop screen before her. Her hand ran nervous through her short, light-colored hair as she continued to glower. Hunched over her desk, elbow planted upon the top, chin rest on her open palm, from her body language alone it was clear that she was not a happy camper. And yet, while anyone else would have turned away, she persisted.
Winnie was not someone to take challenges lying down. Whenever she was challenged, she made sure to power through whatever it was. Just like the time that Sandy Pescadero challenged her to down the remaining quarter of a bottle of hot sauce when they are out at Taco Pete’s during finals. It burned like hell but Winnie was relentless until she had drank the last drop. Her tongue was numb for several hours afterwards but, hey, she earned her peers respect.
But this, well, this was going a bit out of her comfort zone. For as much as Winnie was willing to accept any challenge, the one that she always shied away from was scare challenges. She was not someone who liked to be scared, for several reasons, actually. The most prominent was due to her mutation and the lasting effect it could have on her. However, Brenda had prodded her enough to the point that when she finally relented, Winnie was hellbent on proving her point that she could handle being scared.
After all, it was just a stupid jump scare video. How scary could it b—
”RAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWRRRRRRRR!!!!”“AHHHHHH!!!” POP!!A knock came to the door. Slowly it was pushed open as Brenda, the tall, raven-haired young woman walked in, dressed in her pajamas and rubbing her eyes. Her eyebrow arched, she looked around the room in confusion, not seeing her roommate anywhere. “Winnie?”
”Ugh…down here…” a small voice whined.
Brenda looked down and, standing on the ground, was a rather strange creature. Small, round, standing on two spindly legs. The creature with the long neck and ping-pong ball-sized head and the long beak sighed as it looked up at her indignantly. A kiwi. This was Winnie whenever she willed it or, as in this case, was terrified beyond belief. And she was not happy.
Her roommate, however, was grinning like a Cheshire. “Haaaah, you got scared! I knew that’d get you!”
KiWinnie (
annoying combination of Kiwi and Winnie) rolled her eye as she started to pace, waiting to turn back into human form, but not without grumbling.
“You’re a such a *****…”
