The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She could agree with that sentiment. Why shouldn't you enjoy yourself after getting dolled up and were already out the door? Friends or no friends, at that point you just have to have to fun. Raising her own drink in response she just had to drop the Gaelic cheer in. "Slangevar!"
Rianne being a police officer certainly explained her general good fitness. It was also really cool. Yes, she may or may not be flaunting the law as a member of the X-Men, but she really respected the work they did. People as selfless as to put themselves in danger for others always had her admiration. "That's so cool, what made you want to become an officer? Oh and what is it the Emergency Support Unit actually does? I don't think I've ever had it explained to me"
Knowing she was an officer did mean Cait was going have to be even more on her toes about her other job. It wasn't exactly legal.
Smiling at the question and taking a swig before answering, "I'm a professional musician actually. I play in a band with a few others and we do bars and clubs, that kind of thing." This was the part she liked, peoples reactions were always so interesting. Her favourite was when a suave gentlemen suddenly started fan-girling about her band.

She did sound sincere as she talked and it was great to hear. Not only as information for the X's but in a general, people aren't all bad kind of way. Cait had more than enough hate thrown at 'her' on the news as a part of the masked vigilantes, some of the things that were said made even her doubt peoples ability to be good. Hearing someone being so modest about what was actually major help to people who needed it was really encouraging. "You shouldn't sell yourself so short, it's amazing you're willing to do so much for others, especially ones so easily abused by the public."
So, not only did she already do a lot to help mutants, her motivation for going to school was pretty selfless. Becca might not be convinced by only this much, but Cait was more than willing to believe Ambrosia was on the level. She wasn't too bad at reading people and the kind, young woman opposite struck her as genuine. "That's honestly really impessive, Ambrosia. I've not met many people who would want to do so much for people in trouble. We're usually pretty busy with work, but if you need live music for a charity event 'm sure we could help in one way or another. It wouldn't be the first gig we've done for a good cause."
"Don't hesitate to contact me if you need anything, or if you want to hang out. I am so looking forward to it as well." Getting more people to play with was always awesome.

Apparently it could be worse than getting sworn at, since he'd probably managed to give the poor woman 1st degree burns. Smooth move Artair, very smooth. He also couldn't blame her for the sarcastic comment, since in her situation he would be swearing like a sailor, in more than one language.
"Jesus, I am so sorry. I really didn't mean to scare you like that." Well, they always did say no good deed went unpunished, but fate seemed to be just a little crueler to him for once if it was lashing out at other people around him. "Let me at least get you another drink, since it's my fault you lost your last one." Right now, he'd understand if she just told him to get lost.
Turning and asking for a towel or something else she could dry off with from one of the servers, he jumped at her shout. Yep, he'd p----- her off. Holding up his hand to the other people getting up, he hoped non of them would be too nosey or 'helpful' enough to come over.
Offering her the towel that had brought out, he really just wanted to return to his table, get his food and slink out before he burned anyone else today. Somehow.

"Jack it is," if that's what she preferred. He tended to remember what people generally wanted to be called, since he'd had so many issues with it growing up.
That was an understatement. He had some of the best scotchs available, even some of the more obscure brands generally only know to the less casual whiskey drinker. The fact his home town whiskey was on offer had nothing to do with his attitude at all.
Smiling when she nodded towards the book, he needed the distraction to be honest, it was not easy reading. Artair could only stomach so many cold clinical descriptions of the make up of a persons brain before he was done. "Don't worry about it, just some required reading for one of my courses, honestly hard to read it for extended periods of time."
Any other time he would be worried about it being embarrassing, given the company, but after dealing with an excitable child for a few hours, he was done with caring right now.
When his phone went off and he saw who had sent the message, he could only wonder what kind of demonic timing Sarah had. With more hearts and emoji's than was really needed, she was reminding him about his promise from earlier. Why on earth had he agreed to taking her to the mansion and worse, how the hell was he going to arrange that.

Following Rianne towards the bar and hoping onto the free barstool, she quickly ordered her own drink and put down the money for the both of theirs. A nice cold beer was just what was needed right now after that performance. "Yeah, we were meant to have a big meet up, spend some time together but they all flaked."
It was really annoying, especially with how hectic all of their schedules were but hey, she'd met someone else really cool to hang out with. It was their loss. "But that's their problem, we can have plenty of fun without them." She already had anyways, but Cait had the feeling Rianne would be great fun to hang out with.
Taking a quick swig of her beer to help cool down, she might as well learn a little about her new friend while they waited. "So what is it you do for a living then, if you don't mind me asking?" It was always so cool finding out what people did, what made them tick and why. She was also really curious considering how well built Rianne was, maybe her job was something physical?
She was pretty glad she had someone to sit with for another reason as well. With the two of them chatting it kept most guys away and as fun as they could be, she wasn't really in a flirty mood at the moment.

He couldn't fault Alex's reluctance to give up that kind of info, but at least the lad saw sense. Artair was well aware that was still essentially a stranger to him, how could he know if the Scot could be trusted or not.
"Ah, you're one of the mansions. Well that's good then, Doc'll see you right pretty quick after all." Maybe he would be more at ease knowing Artair had already been there himself, true it wasn't that long ago but he'd gotten patched up himself. "Well, that shouldn't take long then and at least you'll no have to deal with that nose for much longer."
Keying in the address and pick up time, he hoped they wouldn't be waiting long in the open. Those guys had been scary and well organised. If they were coming back they were coming back hard. What on earth had this kid done to make thugs like that want a piece of him? And if he was related to the mansion in some way, could it be someone with a grudge against him. No time for that though, looks like it was time to move.
"Course I can Alex, keep an eye out and don't hesitate to tell me if you think somethings off." Taking a quick look through the door crack to make sure no one was in that direction, he turned back to the lad. "If you need to bolt, shout when you do. It'll be safer if I know whether you're behind me or not." Nodding to him and pushing the door open, he moved out into the alley, holding a weapon ready in his mind. If they came back, they were going to get far worse than before.

Something about the sound of renegade shows was hilarious to her. Like they were running onto a stage wearing face masks, playing a set and sprinting off as security came charging on. The thoughts nearly made her laugh, but she settled for an amused grin.
Taking the offered card and glancing over the information on it, she was very interested with the words printed on the back. "Oh my god, now I know why I got the feeling I knew who you were. You're the local civil rights advocate, especially for mutants." She been literally handed the perfect way to bring it up, she might as well take it. "That's incredible, I've always loved the work you do for people who need help. I can't believe how much of an eejit I've been."
"In that case I'll definitely need to play with you at some point, I'd love to get to see your skills first hand and I do have some recording equipment from my hobby work, if you want to get some music down as a portfolio." Over the years she'd record a fair few pieces, some of them even found their way into the bands official list of works.

An entire day spent in the library had fried his brain, so rather than cook for himself he was getting himself some take away, Why couldn't he treat himself from time to time. At least the place had some good reviews online, apparently did some decent vegetarian options and he was in the mood for something veggie. Who could argue with a name like The Red Dragon Inn either? It had been so long since he'd last had a good chinese.
As Artair entered he had to concede, the place looked really nice inside. Not to busy, a nice and light decor, in fact it was perfect for a nice quick sit down meal. He was quickly led to a nice booth, passing a woman who looked, well a little jumpy to him. Smiling to her as he passed and dropping a polite, "Evening," he was soon in his own booth, ordering an interesting sounding collection of food.
Leaning back into the soft chair, he'd have been tempted to fall asleep then and there if he didn't keep catching the woman he'd seen before nervously glancing up every time the doors bell jingled. Was she okay? It didn't look like she was here with anyone, should he really bother her over his own interpretation?
After a few minutes, he couldn't concentrate on anything else so, sighing, he stood up and slowly made his way over. Hell, if she was fine the worst she could do was till him to p--- off. "Excuse me miss, are you alright? Noticed you were a little on edge."
Following Rianne's part, "Hakuna Matata, anit no passin' craze," she even tried to put on the accent and gruffer voice,
It was one of those songs you just couldn't stand still for and this was her turf. On stage she was somehow more animated and lively than normal, even taking her singing partners cue to do some of the movements from the movie. She especially loved belting out "When I was a young wart, hooooooog!"
Who could be upset when you had such awesome music playing and good vibe going from a crowd. Rianne seemed to really be in the mood. Grinning when she covered her mouth, she gave an apologetic look to the listeners, "Oops, sorry."
This was going to be a great night, she'd found a great new friend, who she responded to enthusiastically whenever they sang at each other.
As the song reached it's end and started to peter off, she gave quite a practiced bow to the audience before turning to Rianne. "That was amazing! You're such a good singer." It would probably be a few minutes before she'd be able to sing again anyways, she might as well get to know the woman. "Fancy a drink, my treat? Can't think of a better way to thank my musical saviour."

This was proving to be a great evening. It was interesting to have someone so confident and self possessed hitting on her. Most guys got nervous and girls, well they just started kissing her. From the sounds of it, she was also very experienced at this "Two out of three ey? You get a lot of practice with your, techniques?" If the line hadn't worked on her she might have protested, but it had, so she couldn't.
She was even a Star Wars fan, could this be any better. "So, if your taste in movies is nearly as good as your taste in women, I am in the right place." Cait was a sucker for a closet nerd. It was sexy when a girl could mix quotes in between flirting.
Yes, yes she was cute. It was nice when people noticed. Although it wasn't the only thing Alice had noticed, apparently, since she had caught onto the very obvious fact that this was not her particular arena. "I've dabbled, from time to time." Trying to sound suave, maybe even James Bondesque, "Mostly they're just so attracted to my natural charm, they can't help but flirt with me." Who knows, maybe it would work
Taking a drink, still not knowing what exactly was in it, she gave the woman a fairly open look up and down. Yes, she was very good looking and boy did Alice know it. One of these days, she would get over her issues with dresses, they were impossible to beat for sheer showing off value.

Regret? She didn't know the meaning of the word when it came to music. There was no such thing. He also had clearly never met some of her friends if he thought she hadn't heard off key singing. She loved them but Jesus, they were no longer allowed to try karaoke. "Try me, Doctor. Ever heard someone sing a beat out of synch? I can go there."
That was a challenge she would happily accept. If he really thought he was free from her pranks, he was sadly mistaken. "Oh I'm sure it will be, and yes, I will laugh, relentlessly. It may also find it's way to the internet in one form or another." Sometimes having hobbies paid off when it came to messing with your friends.
An empath? That was a new one, she wasn't sure if she'd ever met someone who could do that and even worse, he couldn't turn it off. Wow that must be really hard when you worked in a freaking hospital. There was so much pain and fear, so much happiness and joy, how could he handle it? She was gaining a whole new level of respect for the guy. "That's incredible Mal, really. I can't imagine how hard that is to deal with."
Wait, had he been reading her this whole time? That was cheating! No wonder he had caught onto her prank. "Hmm, that makes pranks harder to pull off." Giving him an evil grin, "I'll just have to try harder then."

Pineapple incident? That sounded, exciting. Way better than what she had been ordering at least, so she waved the bartender away in favour of the new drink. When it got handed over to her it was, weird. Really fruity and it probably had enough sugar to stun a rhino, but it was really good. Very strong too. She probably shouldn't have to many of them, some bad life decisions would be in the future if she did.
Oh she was in. Not many people were that forward if they weren't interested in at least a little bit. Well, it wasn't like this out of the norm for her experiences with her own sex. Fluster, blushing and unexpected make out sessions.
Oh, she had a name to work with now, Alice. Lovely name for such a beautiful woman, but that line was too much for her. Not being able to hold it back she started laughing lightly, shaking her head at the innuendo. "I have to ask, because I'm genuinely curious, how often has that worked?" It was so cheesy, so out of left field, so.....perfect. God damnit, it had worked on her hadn't it. There was no way she could leave now, not without finding out where 'the rabbit hole' went.
"Well, add one more to that list now because there is no way I am not seeing where this goes, Alice." If that was the innuendo, she could only imagine what wonderland was like. If there wasn't a mirror right behind the bar, she wouldn't have been able to see just how much see was blushing at that thought. Her face was nearly matching the colour of her hair.
Screw it, she was here to have fun, might as well play along. "If you're Alice," she began, lifting up her pale arms, "that would make me the white rabbit." Giving what she hoped looked like a confident grin, maybe she could cause some flustering. "I'm sure we could find our mad hatter somewhere along the way."

Well, she might hate Pat right now but if the looks she was getting from the woman were any indicator, she might just have a shot. If she got out of this with a number, she was going to, maybe, forgive him. A little. It helped that the dress her new friend was sporting showed off some very lovely skin.
Cait would take adorable, it was good, wasn't it? She wasn't great with flirting with women, somehow. Guys were easy, show off a bit of leg and they were all yours but women? How on earth were you meant to flirt with them? "I could absolutely do with a drink and a cocktail sounds amazing. There any you could recommend? Yours looks particularly appetising." Nudging Pat towards the group of very beautiful young men eye him up and giving him a very pointed look she turned back her newest friend.
If there was one thing she could thank her parents for, her accent was a definite gift at times like this. It had gotten her more than one phone number. "I've certainly been told that, not that I ever abuse it's powers. What kind of monster would do that," she added, giving a cheeky grin.
Ordering and drink, before returning her full attention to, wait had she really not asked for a name? "How rude of me, I've introduced myself and I didn't even ask for yours." She was not good at this. She could almost feel Pat's eyes in the back of her head telling her not to f--- this up, if he hadn't been tongue deep in his newest conquest right now.

Grinning at the joke, she felt exactly the same way. It would definetley take a few more drinks until she was ready to fall in love with a person she'd just met. "Oh god yes, they're so fun to sing, I just wish there some more casual ones." Maybe in a bit she could try some of the older ones, maybe get some good old fashioned Mary Poppins, really get good cheer flowing.
Twirling the pic she had dramatically and pretending to think on the matter, she totally knew the answer. Who wouldn't want to be a lonely warthog. "It's got to be Pumba. I just don't have the right amount of snark for Timon." Well, she sometimes could, but it was usually more of an act. That and more than one person knew her for the pure ray of sunshine she felt like she was.
Setting their choice in and getting ready for the music to start, she was kind of glad her friends were so unreliable tonight. As much as she wanted to hang out with them, meeting new potential friends was so much cooler. It just meant more people she could hug. This was looking to be a great night.
The music was beginning and she could barely contain her excitement. Turning back to the crowd, she address Rianne from the corner of her mouth. "So are you ready for a fun time?"

So, not only had Patrick thought it hilarious that her luck with men had bordered on cursed and made more than one comment about her having better luck with guys like him than he did, but he had insisted on taking her out to get some 'stress relief''. He had even tried to give her a make over, but she'd drawn the line when he had given her a dress to try on that showed off more flesh than it covered.
"Dear, if you really want to get some attention, you're going to have to get over your thing with dresses' at some point." He just didn't get it though, she'd never liked them and if her own mother could only get her into a dress once, with months of guilt, he didn't stand a chance.
She'd gone with her old favourite for feeling better about herself. Ridiculously tight jeans and a blouse set just right to give her the appearance bigger curves than she actually had. Cait could do with the confidence booster tonight, if the bar was anything like she was expecting. Pat had said something about being a wing(wo)man tonight, since she had such good luck with his type.
At least the music was good when they entered, just the right kind of tone for the look of the place. "How about some drinks Pat? I could do with something sweet, fruity and terribly bad for me." It was a cocktail mood tonight. "You and me both sweetie," as he glanced across to the bar he got that evil little grin of his, "but do I spy a fetching young lady at the bar? Maybe she would like to play a game." Oh dear god no, not that game, anything but that. Before she could even how to stop him, he was already bearing down on the poor woman.
"Haaaaave you met Cait?" Yep, it was that game. It was always that game. "I'm so sorry for my friend, he has trouble remembering some people don't like being bothered while enjoying a drink." If looks could kill.....hers probably wouldn't anyway.
She was very pretty though. For a gay man, Pat had a very good eye for the ladies and she would be lying if he hadn't helped her get to know more than one beautiful woman. Blushing and still giving her friend dirty looks, she held out her hand, "I'm Cait, if that wasn't obvious. Nice to meet you."
