The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

MRO plots are player-created the Mods facilitate and organize the big ones, but we get the ideas from you. Do you have a plot in mind, and want to know whether it needs Mod approval? Check out our plot guidelines.
In the interest of trying to keep things interesting for players the MOD team has come up with a few X-Men mission ideas. Post here if you're interested in doing one or more of the missions listed and we'll see what we can do.
The first mission listed ("Hiding In Plain Site") will allow for Order and Kabal members to join in, at least during the party phase. The fourth mission (Loch Ness? Lake Champlain? How About The North Pole?) will also allow for Order or Kabal members to join in if they feel like investigating a possible mutant sighting. If any Order or Kabal members are interested, please post here as well. Thanks from the MOD team!
1) Hiding In Plain Sight The activist organization "Humane Treatment For Mutants & Humans Alike" is throwing a charity ball here in New York City. Along with inviting local celebrities and politicians they have invited quite a few mutants. The X-Men have heard rumors that perhaps this organization isn't as pure and clean as everyone believes and so 2-3 X-Members are dispatched to the party to mingle and investigate.
Notes: 02/14/09 (Valentine's Day Party) X-Men Team: Raina (Team Leader), Deathstar, Luke
2) Spies In Our Midst The X-Men have just intercepted a coded message that was being broadcast to their mansion. After several days spent decoding it they discover that one of their newest studies is a spy. 2-3 X-Members are chosen to come up with a plan on how to flush out the spy and catch them before they can cause real damage to the mansion.
Notes: (This mission is planned to take place in March/April) Suspected Spies: Luke Jacobs, Leila, Circe X-Men Team: Silver Streak, Cold Steel, Calley
3) South Of The Border Shipments of advanced weapons have been making their way into the hands of local New York Anti-Mutant gangs. The X-Men track down that these weapons are being manufactured and shipped from a mysterious benefactor in Mexico. 3-4 X-Men are assigned the task of destroying the weapons plant and any weapons that may be on site. For the good of everyone, humans and mutants alike, these weapon shipments cannot be allowed to continue!
X-Men: ? Outside Help: Werecat, Slade
4) Loch Ness? Lake Champlain? How About The North Pole? Report have begun filtering in from scientists stationed on the North Pole of a strange creature wandering the icy landscape. Described in a way that makes it almost match the description of the Loch Ness monster or 'Champ' in Lake Champlain, the X-Men wonder if it's a mutant in the great icy north or perhaps something else entirely. 2 X-men are dispatched to check out the situation.
Adaptation vs. Mutation It is an observable fact in nature that when a new species of plant or animal is introduced into a previously existing ecosystem one of two things will happen. Either the new species will take over and destroy all its competition for life or the previously existing species will adapt in order to counteract this new threat.
What if the human race began to adapt to the mutant threat?
What if the human race changed ever so subtly... without the x-gene.
Around the world humans are changing. The human race currently uses only somewhere between 4-10% of their brain function capacity. With the mutant threat increasing certain humans are changing so that they use 15-20% of their brain. After having been affected by the x-gene in some way (ie: healed by a mutant, hurt by a mutant, controlled by a mutant, etc) these Adapted humans will develop the ability to produce an aura around their bodies that extends up to 10 feet. This aura temporarily disables the x-gene as well as turning any objects previously affected by the x-gene back to their normal state.
Examples:
Rules/Downsides/Limitations:
[/i]. There will be no power growths beyond that range.
3. The aura cannot be recreated by scientists with a machine. No matter how brilliant the scientist, for at least the next 100 years, they will be unable to understand this previously silent part of the human brain.
4. Adapteds cannot sense mutants around them. The aura is produced unconsciously so they do not have the ability to monitor it.
5. If your character has physical characteristics (ie: fur, tails, scales, etc), you may choose whether they disappear within the aura or not--whatever works best for your character. Some mutants completely revert to human over a matter of seconds/minutes, whereas others simply find their tails/tentacles/gills hanging limp or being useless until they leave the aura.[/ul]
The problem you would run into with the zombie idea would deffinately be the long term affects. Anyone that's seen a zombie movied knows that there would be no way to get rid of them completely which would mean that after that plot we would still have zombies popping up on occasions. That would deffinately take full comments from both players and the other MODs to get approved.
The possibility of a rogue mutant that is so powerful that all the other muants have to work together to stop it is an intriguing possibility but it would take some more discussion also. Obviously it would be neat to see all of the groups working together and I can already picture Syn or Hunter trying to figure out how they cna recruit the rogue without actually destroying it, but I digress.
Keep the conversation going and see what comes of it. Work on details and explanations that fit. As I said before, if anyone needs a sounding board just send me a PM. I'm around.

This might be an idea that can be fleshed out to work but I would suggest you follow a different train of thought than the Stalkers. What other kind of threats would make the mutants band together and perhapse even have to band together with humans? What might make humans and mutants work together?
If you want any help working on ideas feel free to PM me. I'm available as a sounding board if you need one.
