The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. The ever proper, ever elegant Sapphire Lupin let out a light chuckle at the mention of carrying Emerald to the infermary. Did she find it funny that her baby sister was hurt because of her? No, she just found it humerous that Gawain was the one who carried her younger sibling to the infermary. He didnt look like he could drag her younger sister to the infermary.
"Ah, I can imagine you would be upset by that if my sisters did indeed adopt you as part of the family." Sapphire paused, taking his hand in her pale delicate one, it was the hand with the scratch on it, so similar to Emerald's. Her handshake was firm, not unlike the handshake of her younger sisters. " I assure you it wasnt for the purpose of malice, it was a test, I have been testing Emerald for years, making sure I did the right thing by allowing her to become part of the inner circle."
The mistress of Darkness sat down on her easel stool, gazing at the newest painting she had been working on before she had partook in a shower. The canvas showed what it looked to be a man, a large man with broad soulders and red eyes, glaring out menacingly at the viewer. It was the same man who Emerald saw during the events at the haunted house who scared her so badly, the same one who damaged her once again. The look on his face was a hungry one and in one hand he held a dog collar, similar to what Emerald usually wore around her neck and in the other what it seemed to be some sort of beanie cap, something similar to what ruby was seen wearing.
Sapphire shuddered a little as she gazed at the painting, briefly breaking her normal cool demanor. "If you are as close to my sisters as you say, then you learned of Emeralds strife over the past month." Sapphire stated, her voice, for a brief moment hitching with a strong emotion. The emotion was anger and when it came from Sapphires mouth it sounded absolutely terrifying.

Since the attack on her younger sibling, Sapphire had taken up drinking earlier in the afternoon, so when she heard some sort of knocking, the oldest lupin thought it was because she had drank too much. Crystal clear blue eyes stared at her bottle for a moment, then placed it in the recycling bin, figuring that was the only explanation for the knocking. The silken robe clad woman then heard a voice and she couldn't help but cringe a little at it, it sounded like it was coming from her bedroom, where she had a full length mirror near her art supplies.
Sapphire rose from her bar stool and strode, elegantly towards her bedroom planning on just blaming the voice on someone upstairs or something like that. This wasn't the first time she had heard voices so it wouldn't surprise her if it was just a figment of her imagination. Once reaching the mirror she found that the voice came from a person.
There was a child in her mirror, last time she checked she hadn't placed a child in a mirror. She stared at the boy, eyes contemplating his reasoning for knowing who she was. Perhaps this was the boy that Emerald viewed as a little brother at the mansion, because he certainly didn't look like that Ilari boy that she was often with. Ruby had mentioned a boy who could go into mirrors named Gawain so perhaps boy and the boy Emerald viewed as a brother was one an the same. It definitely seemed that way.
"Hello Mirror child, What are you doing in my apartment?" Sapphire asked in that calm, elegant tone. It should be noted that as Sapphire brought her hand to her face, the robes arm fell down a little showing an extremely long scratch down her arm, looking very similar to the claw marks that were on her younger siblings face. "If you are looking for Emerald, young Gawain you will not find her here, she doesn't visit me very often in my humble abode."
Humble wasn't a good word for Sapphires apartment, it was elegantly furnished with the most expensive pieces of furniture, all kept in goo condition. It seemed that the woman made good money, but in doing what was unknown.
When Meld mentioned she never gave her family a chance to call the cops she frowned a little bit. It wasn't right in her opinion to kill your family, unless they attempted to kill you, which made things a little bit different. Even then it was hard for Sapphire to kill Emerald even when the wolf girl let loose and became the labyrinthine that was her third form, even if she felt the darkness controlling her actions more than she did, Sapphire truly doubted she could kill any of her family under any circumstances.
Turning to Deirdra and Meld after finishing her rum and not feeling tipsy in the slightest, while she politely declined a refill she smiled a little. "Yes I think it would be good if we went together Deirdra, just in case if things did not go well or something of that nature. Besides, it would be a rather big change for me considering I have been working alone for quite some time, maybe some other mutant interaction is in order." Sapphire replied in that same polite tone she had taken with them the entire time.

It was routine of a certain older sister to come to the mansion to check up on her younger siblings. Even if they didn't see her, she was always there, watching and protecting them whether they wanted it or not. It was a remarkably dreary day at the institute, with the skies overcast and Grey, casting shadows all around the front lawns. Today, was a good day for Sapphire to visit her younger sisters, plenty of shadows she could hide in while sneaking across campus as well as plenty of ammunition just in case if things got messy.
The artist thought that everything was going well, she had already talked to little Ruby, listening to her rattle on about her new friends. While she did find some of these prattling tiresome, she enjoyed listening to the little fox girl speak of her joys, it gave Sapphire herself vague hope of a better tomorrow for herself and for Emerald.
Speaking of which, Sapphire had found the eighteen year old werewolf walking through the hallways of the institute. She saw that her sister looked worse for wear and she couldn't help but be concerned for her. Those dark rings under the red heads normally bright life filled eyes were troublesome for the darkness manipulator. A small twang of guilt filled the older girl for not being able to help her younger sister with some of her problems that caused this sleepless look.
The two women walked for a good while in the mansions hallways, ignoring the tension between the two of them. Once they got to a far more isolated hallway, away from most of the students rooms, Sapphire finally spoke.
"What happened Emerald? You look like something the cat dragged in." Sapphire asked, though still keeping that polite tone.
Watching as her younger sister run her hand through her hair nervously made Sapphire even more concerned for the girl. This was a side of Sapphire not many people saw, the side that actually cared for other people, mainly her family but other people none the less. She listened as the wolf girl relayed the story of the house and how it replicated events from the labs, it wasn't until Bloodfang was mentioned that Sapphire showed any expression on that cold face of hers. Her face twisted in anger, clenching both fists at her side before regaining her composure.
"So did you kill those fools?" Sapphire asked, her voice calm once again, despite the terrifying anger than showed on her face.
"No, wasn't able to I was injected with a sedative that replicated the ones in the labs, I couldn't move really well." Emerald replied, leaning her head against the wall.
A small laugh escaped the darkness manipulators lips. "You are loosing your touch Emmy, the Emerald I know would have gone back to that house and ripped it apart until she found those twins, then precede to tear them apart as well." Sapphire crossed her arms over her chest with an amused look on her face, however something was unsettling about that look.
Emerald let out a low grow at her sister. "The Emerald you know is the same as she has always been, just not pumped up on experimental steroids that were forced into her body by a orderly"
Sapphire shook her head, shrugging her shoulders with a sigh, "Emmy,Emmy,Emmy, whenever will you learn that the beast inside of you needs to be feed and the only thing it eats is blood and the suffering of others."
The wolf girl's body tensed as she stared hard at her older sister, "Listen up sis, I'm gonna tell ya something, I am not a monster, not now, not anymore. If you want to talk to a monster, go look at yourself in the mirror sometime after you kill another innocent person."
It had come to Sapphires attention that her younger sister needed a little bit more educating than she thought she did. While at first her intentions were to comfort the girl about her experience, talking to her about her apparent insomnia as well, now they were something far more educational.
"Innocence? Emerald, my dear little sister you know that both of our views on life were changed that day we were both taken away from our parents almost ten years ago." Sapphire told her younger sibling, walking slowly toward her. "The little innocence that is left in this world will soon be corrupted as it always is. You can't trust anyone Emmy, the world is cruel, the world is wicked, I am the only person left in this whole city you can trust."
Sapphire watched as the wolf girl clenched her fists at her side, obviously ready for a fight. The eldest Lupin wasn't looking for a fight, she was looking to teach her younger sibling a lesson and before the younger girl was able to react several tendrils of darkness cast from the shadows of the hall bound her to the wall. For a moment Sapphire watched as Emerald struggled vehemently against the darknesses grasp, only it vein for they constricted around her tighter making the artist sight deeply.
"Why is it you have to be so difficult? I'm only trying to help you. " Sapphire shook her head as Emerald attempted to bite at her as soon as she got close. "We aren't so different Emmy, both of us do what we must for our families, both of us have murdered people that have threatened to destroy our ways of life and it bothers me that you keep fighting against me."
Sapphire stared hard into the dark blue eyes that mirrored her own lighter blue ones. Despite her younger siblings more wolven looks, one could tell that the two girls were related. If anyone knew Emerald they would know that the cold look Sapphire was giving her, the pleased smirk on her face and the way she strode up to Emerald was mirroring Emeralds exactly. Though she hated to admit it, Emerald knew that her and Sapphire had many similar ties.
"Other people, hurt us Emerald and no matter if you will admit it or not we are far closer than you might think." Sapphire told Emerald, patting the side of the wolf girls cheek. "I enjoy killing those who are unworthy of us and the perfect utopia we are destined to create. Whether they be mutant or human it doesn't matter, anyone who gets in my way of creating the perfect life for us will face the consequences."
"Even if it causes pain for Ruby and I?" Emerald asked coldly, another growl escaping her lips. "I fight crime Sapphire, I go out and hurt people that would hurt those who have done nothing wrong. You kill people for money and for your own sick pleasure in order to relive the days in the labs where you were able to do anything you wanted. The world you are trying to create the one where everything will be fine and we will be together all the time, will hurt us more in the long run, and I don't want to be a part of that world."
Unfortunately, it seemed that Emerald wasn't listening to her older sisters words which saddened the darkness user. This meant that her lesson would be far harsher than she originally intended, Sapphire reached into her pocket and retrieved and syringe, long and pointed filled with some sort of chemical. She watched her sister begin to struggle more violently, rage and slight panic in those dark blue eyes.
"You fight for those who would betray you in an instant if they found out your past. A good deal of this innocence that you speak of is a lie little sister, this world has become corrupt because of those who are in it and if I have to wipe out an entire city to ensure that our families lives can be perfect so be it. As for yours and Ruby's happiness." Sapphire jabbed the needle in the wolven females exposed shoulder, pushing the plunger in slowly. "I will put you, little sister, in pain induced stupor if I need to in order to make my vision come true. You will thank me some day."
Sapphire watched as the struggling suddenly ceased and a heard a loud cry escape the wolf girls lips, she watched as the chemical took its a effect, making the younger girl tense up in order to bite back anymore cries of pain. Realesing her younger sister Sapphire watched for a moment as the girl whrithed on the ground, pained whimpers escaping her throat as she bit so hard onto her lip it began to bleed. After a time the young girl stopped moving all together, passing out on the hard floor from the sheer pain. Sapphire was impressed because she lasted a solid ten minutes against pain she did far better than she ever had in the labs against , it made the older girl wonder if perhaps it was because she had something to fight for here. Pushing these thoughts out of her mind the oldest Lupin kissed Emerald on the forehead, brushing some of the crimson hair out of her face.
"Good night little sister. " She cooed, before teleporting away

Listening to the other twos tales of woe on how their parents ether kicked them out or called the police on them didn't surprise the artist in the slightest. That tended to be a response for most people when they dealt with mutants with dangerous abilities. It was somewhat irritating for Sapphire when she attempted to use her abilities in a non threatening way, such as grabbing something off of a tall shelf in a wal mart. Some people just reacted too harshly to simple things like that and when that as well as the accusing and threatening happened, Sapphire had no choice but to reprimand the person on their foolishness. Locking someone in a a large chest was a good way for them to learn not to be rude to someone who is obviously dangerous.
"The Order? Interesting, I worked for an organization before that I was not happy with and by the way you are describing it, it seems like great organization to join. Though I must say I typically work alone, perhaps there will be some sort of gain from joining an organization such as that." Sapphire pondered aloud, placing her rum down, she was finally starting to feel the effects of it, though it took quite some time. She didn't wish to drink anymore at risk of getting up and singing karaoke or talking to the kangaroo on top of a kangaroo mart again. The young woman had always hated kangaroos, they always told her to buy now and it was one of the very few things that was able to trigger her primal instincts to hunt and kill.

With the women talking, Sapphire once again, this gave Sapphire a chance to listen as well as observe. The Mistress of darkness was rather intrested in the two other women and wondered if they could serve her purpose of building a better world. They did sound like they wanted to eliminate those who stood in thier way of happiness, which was good because that was exactly what Sapphire wanted to do.
"I am perhaps biased on the matter, My father is a human and he married my mother who is quite blatently a mutant. He believes that it's a gift and treats her as well as the rest of my family extremly well." Sapphire smiled, a geuine one, showing her fondness for her father. It would seem that the psychotic Lupin sister, also had a heart. "I am lucky in that sense, my father and my Grandmother Pearl love mutants. Though Grandmother Pearl shoots turnips at mutants who arent proud of themselves so she could perhaps be crazy, who knows." Sapphire shrugged her shoulders a little before taking another swig of her rum.
Sapphire thought for a moment on Deirdra's statement on finding more people like them and nodded a little bit. She knew that there was some sort of organization that took in people like them or organized them doing something or another, but she was never able to remember what in the world they were called. Perhaps it was something like the row, or the organization, whatever it was Sapphire couldnt remember.
"I would enjoy working with you ladies on some sort of job. You seem like quite the party animals." Sapphire laughed a little, just before she took another delicate drink of her alcohol.

"They can be happy, however ones own emotions are irrelevant to what has to be done." Sapphire replied in response to Meld's question
Listening to both women Sapphire learned quite a bit about both of these womens ideals on life and on mutants in general. Amidst their words and outbursts the artist found that she was a bit out of place with these two. While they were more of a stabby sort of all humans should die kind of mutants, she was more laid back on these sort of things. A pondering look crossed across her pale face when she thought of their questions as well as the other words that they uttered on the note of hating mutants.
"Interesting, so you both hate humans in a sense," Sapphire told them, her voice cool and calm. "I myself do not hate them, they are more of a convenience than anything else. They are the ones with the best jobs for someone like myself as well as the ones with the best paychecks. Mutants tend not to pay well I have noticed."
Sapphire paused for a moment allowing it all to sink in to the two women, staring at the rum in the glass, swirling it around the glass aimlessly. Her own past was covered with bloodstains and ruled by suffering as well as strife. Though, she didn't blame a particular species, people in general were just twisted cruel creatures with the exception of a few innocent ones. Innocence, has been overshadowed by the wickedness and cruelty of the world. Thing would change though, she would make sure of that.
"You two sound like my younger sister Emerald, trying to protect, mutants or the innocent in her case in order to make the world a better place. Problem is there is so little left to protect and save, who deserves to be saved and who deserved to be punished, will you be at the devils right hand or will you stand in his path as he reduces the world to rubble." Sapphire paused for a moment before taking a large drink of her rum. It was a good thing she did not get drunk easily, just in case if one of these women tried to attack her. She had set up a darkness exit outside of the bar in a nearby alleyway as a escape route just in case. The artist was always ready for any sort of scenario. "Me on the other hand, while my own past is painted with the horrors and sorrow that no one should face, I believe that in order to make the world a better place, eliminate those who you believe aren't worthy and while some think its a particular race, I believe it is whoever gets in my way of my own ideals of a perfect world."
Sapphire finished her little speech with a satisfied smile on her face, considering that everyone else had talked about ideals so she felt like she should as well. The artist took another sip of her drink, the delicateness and the nobleness still in her body stance. No matter what Sapphire had a certain pride about her that could not be put down by anything, even after all of the past events that led her to be who she was now.
With the same smirk on her face as she had before, Sapphire listened to the two women tell a little more about themselves. It was a rather educational experience for the artist because she learned far more about them that she originally thought they were going to allude to. With another delicate drink, Sapphire kept her ears open for anything she found of use to her. If these women were what they said they were it was most likely that she could use them for her own purposes, drawing on thier hatred for humans to give them something to do. Once addressed Sapphire folded her hands on the table neatly, her gaze to them the same as it had always been. A cool and rather calculating one.
"Pleased to meet the both of you, My name is Sapphire, " Sapphire told them cordially. She saw no point in hiding her identity around ethier of them, for they all seemed to be realitively on the same page about things. While Sapphire wasn't a rampant human killer like most mutants of her caliber, she was an assassin and believed in a certain way of doing things. It wasnt wise in her opinion to just go out of ones way to murder dozens of foolish humans just for the fun of it. "As for my view on the matter of humans, I believe humans, much like mutants as well as all creatures are inherently dark and tortured creatures whether they know it or not. While more humans have done me wrong than mutants it does not mean I will go out of my way to end their pitiful existence. "
With that Sapphire took a long swig of her drink, forgetting her manners for a brief moment. It was not unlike Sapphire to voice her opinions on matters of the world, though she did tend to be cautious around most, not wanting them to know to much about her. While she was a fairly pleasant person when she was in a good mood, she tended to unsettle people with her cool demeanor.
"A cult?" Sapphire asked, seemingly amused by this, "What did they do, take Sunday school with Charles Manson? Though, nothing is worse than those curs who started the Mutant Registration Act in America, placing mutants in camps, sickining really. " Sapphire explained, taking another swig of her drink. "I heard they met a rather dark end."
With that, Sapphire finished her drink, asking the barkeep for another. The way Sapphire stated dark end made the statement drip with deadly poison. Judging by the way she shifted ever so slightly when she mentioned the camps, she also had a history with them. Or At least, he family did, giving her more of a bias to mutants rather than humans.
A tiny smirk curled across Sapphire’s lips as she listened to the two women’s responses to her words. Being the brilliant interrogator she was she had managed to get the non robotic woman to spill her guts about how how she was indeed a mutant and how her life wasn’t very exciting in the slightest. The blonde, Sapphire concluded, was a talker judging by the way she spoke as well as carried herself. Not only this, but she often used her own sexual wiles to get what she wanted, even if she wasn’t going to do anything in return. Quite a dangerous practice if she did not have anything to back it up, which Sapphire assumed to be her mutantion as long as it was a useful one.
The other woman the robotic parts woman was quite an enigma, much like the artist herself. Sapphire concluded was someone similar to her in a sense. She seemed to have a dangerous air about her, similar to Sapphire’s but it wasn’t unsettling as it was obvious. In her own opinion, Sapphire hid her acts well and did not go out randomly to kill massive amounts of people with her mutation unless there was a reason for it. What kind of killer this woman was Sapphire did not know, though she was rather curious to find out.
“I myself am a mutant. And as for crazy, that’s all up for interpretation in my opinion,” Sapphire replied, that same formal tone sticking to her voice. She took another delicate sip of her rum, trying not to drink to much now that she knew there was another possible assassin among them. “So, are you the girls that I want to destroy the humans because they are ignorant pigs, or are you the tree hugging kind of mutants that believe we can all sit in a corner and sing campfire songs with all the nations in the world?”
Sapphire's intentions was for them to partake in this casual conversation among mutants while she studied them, making notes in her mind about what exactly these two were all about. Mainly because if she could perhaps make an alliance with these two there is a possibility that she could have more of an advantage in achieving her ultimate goal.
To say Sapphire had a long day would be quite an understatement, to her this particular day lasted eons and she was just a shadow of her former self. Never before had she seen such a rush at the gallery for paintings but it would seem that a good deal of the business she was going to have this week all came in today. Not that she was bothered by making money off of her paintings and watching other paintings from artists get bought. Its just it was difficult to stand there and try to act formal with the humans. They asked such stupid questions and a few more difficult ones Sapphire silently prayed would be put on a hit list sometime soon.
So, here she was at ‘The Grey Moose’ fully intending to drink multiple bottles of rum before the night was over. She had a high alcohol tolerance due to her ability, and at the moment she really felt she needed them. Sapphire made her way to the bar, wearing a fairly formal blue dress that rested just above her pale knees and though it was simple in design it was formal in look and feel. The mistress of darkness wasn’t one to dress down for any occasion and though at times she did wear jeans and the like, tonight she was coming to his bar straight from work. Whether or not she stuck out mattered not to her, all she cared about was getting a drink.
Upon seeing the two other women at the bar Sapphire couldn’t help but smile a little, the one that was obviously a mutant looked interesting, the other was ether a mutant or crazy to sit by a person with a metal arm. The darkness manipulator always found it interesting how different mutants could look in comparison to humans. However, Sapphire often forgot about how she looked in comparison to other people with her pale skin and mysterious beauty that had a certain regal as well as dangerous air about her.
Sapphire sat down next to the girl that was crazy enough to sit by a metal mutant with a bemused look on her face.
“Rum on the rocks if you don’t mind.”She told the bartender in that same formal way of speaking she always had. Once the bartender had retrieved her drink, she took a delicate sip of it, allowing the its loving embrace to trickle down her throat. There was a paused and then Sapphire’s steely blue eyes gazed at the two women near her. The one with the metal claw and the one that had to be crazy or a mutant, “So, what is a metallic mutant and a ether crazy person or mutant doing in a place like this. Surely you must have better things to do then get drunk with the rest of us.” Sapphire told them both in that same formal tone
Im good with that, just a warning though Sapphires a bit nuts. *watches Sapphire down another bottle of Rum while stabbing a man to death* Just a bit though
Ive been needing to get Sapphire Back into the swing of things. So I have an odd feeling her and Sapphire would get along vaguely well, considering Sapphire's superiority complex over people.
Sapphire had to say she was pleasantly surprised by the mans manners, she didn't think he would have that many considering the whole, looking like a giant red version of the jolly green giant. Then again, looks could very well be deceiving considering the fact that she didn't look like your typical assassin. She looked at the well polished counter intently before sitting on the bar stool in front of her, having stood up from the incident before.
"I drink Rum, the good rum, none of that cheap rum and none of those fruity drinks men try to give women when they want to impress them. I drink rum, straight from the bottle or more typically in a glass." Sapphire told him, "What is it you drink my dear? By your crimson appearance I could say you drink a good deal of tomatoes Juice or perhaps the Blood of your enemies, but that would leave us in an odd spot because I doubt they have either of those here. However, I dont believe we have been properly introduced,my name is Sapphire." Sapphire smiled a little at the red man and offered her hand to him politely.
