The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Waiting in a broom closet for a fat guard to walk by is probably the most boring thing Sapphire had to do today. It was far more boring than watching paint dry and at least with that she could attempt to do something. The artist was sick of this, nothing was worth waiting around like this. With a quick shift in position, she pressed herself against the door, intaking a deep breath.
Outside a sudden grunting was heard and the man paroling floundered, hitting himself on all the walls, or at least that's what it sounded like from inside of the closet. Once the noises stopped, Sapphire emerged from her hiding spot, opening the door with her tendrils. The chubby guard was on the floor with his throat heavily bruised. Her tendril hadn't held him long enough to kill him, just knock him out from lack of oxygen. It might cause him brain damage but that was a small price for him to pay for what could have been a far worse fate.
Sapphire walked down the hallway, her eyes looking around curiously. Nothing seemed to be out of place, but the darkness manipulator felt as if something was near by. She couldn't do anything about it at the moment but she kept her guard up as she entered the slightly cracked door of the office.
"Hello Mr. Murdoch," Sapphire began, taking one quick look at the man behind the desk with an amused smile on her features. He looked her up and down with her slightly revealing white dress and immediately rose from his big leather chair, fiddling with his pants. The man wasn't ugly, no he was handsome for his age and that must have been why so many of the prostitutes had taken a liking to him. "I believe you requested entertainment tonight?"
Without a word the man walked toward Sapphire and wrapped his arms around her, capturing her lips in a kiss. Now, the real facade began.

Robert Murdoch wasn't a bad person no. He made some terrible choices that reflected bad on others but his choices were only flawed due to the fact he was in fact human. A simple man that had simple needs that were not fulfilled by his loving wife, who hadn’t bedded with him in weeks. Like most men, he needed a little TLC to keep himself going and that was where the escort service came in. Many women from all across the county had been escorts to the wonderful charismatic man.
Of course, Robert had a wide taste in women so the women had to be different every time. Like today for instance he was getting a woman he had never seen before, everyone in the building was gone other than the security guards as well as the woman in question.
Or at least that’s what everyone thought, what they didn’t know was the escort, the real escort was currently unconscious inside of the ladies room a single needle hole in between her toes. For anyone who knew her that it looked like a normal night out for her. That she was just sleeping out the cascade of things coursing through her veins that knew better.
The only person that knew better was the other person that was in the building.
Sapphire Lupin was always prepared, every single thing was taken care of an there was no trace evidence of her presence at all. All actions were planned out everything was going all according to plan. The Darkness manipulator got a call about a possible assassination job with this guy ad with the heavy price on his head, she was more than willing to end his life. So here she was, carefully hidden within the darkness portal she had made for herself on the same floor as the man’s office. Sapphire knew there was going to be a security patrol coming by soon so she would have to wait in this swirling vortex in a broom closet until they left. While not the most glamorous of places, she was planning on exiting the darkness as soon as the cop sufficiently patrolled the hallways.
Now all she could do was wait.
((Sorry if it's a little strange, I hope it's okay!))

Sapphire should have known that not everyone would feel such a profound experience with this piece. Not everyone felt the same things when they looked at art, it was one of those, to each his own sort of situations. The darkness manipulator flipped her hair once, allowing it to fall to her shoulder.
"Not everyone can love every piece of artwork, it is just a fact of life," Sapphire answered, really feeling no ill will to this woman. Not everyone could be as intelligent and talented as she was. "Would you care to show me? It is always good to get a better idea of what the people want."
While Sapphire would much rather do work that only she liked to do, that wasn't a good business practice. She could paint all she wanted, but if she didn't make pieces that would sell, she would be living on the streets.

Sapphire herself was aimlessly associating with her fellows, trying her best to talk to all of them and attempt to “get to know” These various groups of people. It was always “entertaining” to do this, giving her some sort of reason to stick around here. While Sapphire did enjoy associating with others, there were times that she slightly wished that she could get the hell out of dodge and spend some time alone. Being treated like a practical god of art was nice and all but a lot of these people were only there because her art was edgy or the like, not because they felt any true emotion from it.
Art was meant to be felt, meant to be breathed, meant to be lived and it killed her inside to know that some people just liked it because it made them popular. While she didn’t mind the money she made or the prestige it gave her she really did wished they understood the true meaning of art more. Then again maybe she was just fooling herself into thinking that there were people that truly carred for art as more than just a hobby The closest were her fans that admired her so but she really didn’t think that they kew the true meaning behind may of the things she painted. Alas, things could’t always work out the way she planned it and artists couldn’t always have their purest expressions expressed to the full understanding of others.
The mistress of darkness meandered her way away from the groups trying her best to think a little more positively for a time. The young darkness manipulator approached a woman who was gazing at a painting and decided to attempt to strike up a friendly conversation.
“Do you feel anything from this piece?” Sapphire asked.

The Master's Gallery for Fine Art was celebrating on this fine evening, with a party fit for a king, several kings in fact. The gallery was having an open viewing of all the art pieces inside for the public but upstairs, the gallery's high end people watched as the middle class and the like intermingled. It was a warm balmy night so it was a wonderful night to stay inside and enjoy the beauty that is art.
There were many paintings to choose from, the modern art, the portraits, the classical pieces and perhaps more importantly the pieces done by the gallery's premier artist, Sapphire Lupin. It had been a long time since they had heard from their mysterious artist, the one that no doubt made them more money than they were used to. She had come into high demand since her mysterious disappearance and now that she had returned, art lovers from all around the city wanted to see her pieces.
Sapphire herself was happy to be back in New York, a place where she felt that she truly belonged. The lights, the glitz, the glamor, nothing could compare to it, nothing in the world. Not only that, but the people here bought all of her pieces, even if they were complete garbage in her opinion. No matter what she painted, these people seemed to eat it up. Most of them knew of her mutation, but they didn't particularly care, she was a great artist and as long as she didn't start bringing them bad publicity, she was good in their book.
Sapphire stood near her latest paintings at the bottom floor, mingling with the public before she planned on going upstairs to talk to her real buyers. Normally, what she would do is that she would allow them to auction off most of her pieces,
Today, her artwork consisted of traditional pieces, mainly nighttime landscapes with various animals running across them. There was one that seemed to catch a lot of people's attention of a Lion protecting a small rabbit against what it seemed to be an otherworldly specter, all painted in dark hues. Intrestingly enough, the lion's mane was a vibrant shade of red, highly contrasting the rest of the painting. This was all while the rabbit's fur was a light brown with a white spot over it's heart.
Sapphire's fan base, the people who were all dressed in black and had blue contacts in an attempt to look like her, flocked to this painting and called it one of her best yet.
The Artist, wasn't cruel to her "fans" however, in fact she was really quite pleasant and charming, giving them advice, helping them and being surprisingly nice. The mistress of darkness, did have a good repore with fellow artists, most of them were kind to her and a bit in awe. She stood in a strapped white dress, that flowed down to her legs easily. It accentuated every part of her body just right in order to make her look elegant but not anything else.
Sapphire made her way to her own paintings as people began to leave her alone, touching the canvas lightly and smiled. This is why she painted, in order to keep her memories of things alive and it appeared that each of these paintings meant something to her in their own way.

The child kept thanking Sapphire and acting as if she had saved her life or something. Sapphire didn’t think so, she was just bothered by the fact that there was some idiot breaking the law outside of her gallery, the last thing she needed. She didn’t like negative attention to be drawn to this place, after she had helped the owner worked so hard to build this place from the bottom up. Then again, she didn’t like it when young people who seemed so innocent were attacked by someone so corrupted by, idiocy.
”It is fine my child, I do not like seeing young people being wounded by the likes of those ruffians. Truly, some people are not fit to live on this earth with gifted people such as us.” Sapphire told the girl, gazing up at her easel and at the painting she had not yet finished.

With the dinosaur outside attacking the man, Sapphire had made it a point to busy herself with other things in the shop, while they did whatever little dance they were going to do. Sapphire really didn’t care if the man died or if he lived all she wanted was for the girl to be safe and judging by the zombie dinosaur she didn’t think that would be to much of a problem. Cool blue eyes scanned her latest painting, one of more symbolic meaning than most of the paintings she kept in the shop to be sold. She would never sell these paintings, oh no, she kept them at her house to almost chronicle what was happening in her life at that very moment or to chronicle the lives of others.
The painting she gazed at was one of a massive wolf like creature standing over a blood stained battlefield, facing down against a woman in a white dress with long black, curly hair. It’s eyes looked hungry and while the woman was facing the creature, meaning the viewer couldn’t see her face, her stance was filled with confidence, showing she was unafraid of this monster.
As the dinosaur girl walked in, Sapphire turned her cool gaze to her, breathing out a sigh. “Do not worry child, It is people like that, that causes monsters to be born,” Sapphire told the girl calmly, “Was there something else you wanted?”
