The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sam smirked when he leaned in acting like he was about to hear an amazing secret. ”I’d like one of those.” Sam said nodding his head. His body with the help of his mutation could help prevent burns if he had something to stop bullets every time he’d only need to worry about being shocked. Being shocked made it impossible to focus on creating anything.
His body iced up under his shirt and he revealed a blue sheen of ice through one of the chard parts of his shirt. ”Fireproof enough. Ice.” Sam said figuring if she knew his name she’d know his powers. ”I was told I should stay away from the infirmary. Doc doesn’t like healing me.” Sam said knowing all about DocProf from his older self’s video message.
”Flesh wound or not maybe you should get checked out?” Sam said knowing she didn’t answer the question about, ”I forgot your name.” the icemancer lied. ”You need help carrying these bags?” he offered. ”Can’t let someone who just got shot carrying all these bags. Where you headed?”

Sam smirked when she got hit and said he was the type to take cheap shots. Cheap shots to Sam also meant fighting dirty and he was going to win a fight if his life was on the line. Now however he was just trying to pester a little girl who was training, trying to get her to have a little fun.
”So is walking on the ice.” Sam said as he lobbed another soft snowball at her. ”Great hit.” he said acknowledging the target. ”You always gonna be standing still when aiming like that? You can start to move if you want.” Sam asked pointing to the ground and forming a few big piles of snow. All of which were rock free.
”And that’s what the safety glasses were for Eve.” he jested, ”Safety.” he waved his hand and formed a blade of ice and launched it into the hip of one of the targets. The blade stuck. Sam waited to throw another snowball that was defiantly rock free at Eve when she got ready for another throw.

This place was great, not only did they have a library a danger room, his secret man cave in his office but they also had a fully functional kitchen. Even better open to the public. Basically anyone could come at any hour of the night and eat some food. Sure there were name tags on some but Sam was more than happy to scrub off said names if something looked good and said person was Gawain, or Serena. They couldn’t be mad at him. He was there teacher and pre-teacher Sam was hungry.
Middle of the night was the best time to be in the kitchen as well. Food from his understanding was picked up the following morning everyday to make sure everyone was well fed which meant whatever he ate now would be replaced. So instead of sleeping or training because both of which were currently out of the question (someone booted him from hogging the danger room) it meant he was about to eat what ever he saw.
Having worked up quite the appetite Sam in his marathon of training simulations (he had to be better than Serena she was too happy beating him). Sam stalked into the kitchen and cracked open the door giggling to himself as he was looking at everything not where to start. To think a few days ago he was living off squirrels in Canadian wilderness hiding for his freedom. ”Everything’s turning up Sam, good for you.” he said justifying why he should eat everything.

Sam shook his head, ”Apparently I was deaged. All the cool kids are doing it now. Where somehow you loose a chunk of your life.” Sam said trying to explain it a bit better.
”hmmmmm… ****” he frowned a bit and then thought about it more. ”That doesn’t make sense either.” Sam folded his arms and looked confused as he was trying to remember what Gawain had told him. ”I was thirty-one a few days ago and a teacher here. I woke up, and I’m eighteen… nineteen?” Sam said not sure. ”Anyway, I don’t know what happened in the last decade. So this is all new to me.”
”Lady, I have a lot of gifts being able to get younger isn’t one of them.” he then added far more confident than he was a second ago.

Sam nodded, again a blessing and a curse you lost the good and the bad. Young Sam was sure that the older version of himself had some positive experience in the ten years that was missing. Old Sam said he had found love and that he deserved it and new Sam deserved it. Young Sam didn’t think that way; in fact he didn’t think he’d still be alive in ten years let alone a few days from now.
Sam watched as she returned the snowball towards his face. Using his mutation he smirked and softened the snow so when it made contact it blew apart without hurting the icemancer. He over mocked wiping his face off then smirk followed by a chuckle. Good one! Maybe you played in you last life.”[/color] Willing another snowball to form he tossed it up and caught it.
Changing the density of the snow he managed to get it to start spinning on his finger. Every so often he spun it with his other hand. ”Everything can be related to training, or playing. All perspective. Sam said waving his hand like he was waiting for her to throw again. ”I am making snowballs, I’m the fun one.” he kept spinning till she started to throw. Quickly he changed the density into a soft snowball again and threw it at her side. Then Sam started to shrug like he didn’t do anything.

Great, someone else who knew him in his past life. Sam was starting to get used to it but it always lead to awkward conversations. ‘do you remember me?’ ‘do you remember when?’ ‘how old are you?’ ‘why didn’t you call me back?’ all of which Sam would only respond with a shrug and an apology.
Sam frowned and gave a slight nod then stopped. It was late; he was up again from reoccurring faces again. He never explained to Eve what he had to relieve but it was something that kept him awake most nights. Meaning it was training time till he was about to drop. Now was that time. He had scorch marks on his shirt and pants. He looked about as bad as the woman was going to feel in the morning she was drunk. She also had a bumped into him, which was the only reason Sam stopped to talk other than the occasional pleasantries.
”Someone had a night.” he said with a smirk. She knew him, he’d at least be polite on the hole, most of the people in the mansion seemed like decent people all except for the princess.
”You!” Sam first responded before raising an eyebrow again, she knew who he was. He did not know her. Old Sam probably, young Sam did not. She was cute, meaning young Sam did want to know her. Ideally when she was sober, not in such rough shape looking like a bag lady complaining about a gunshot wound.
”You were shot?” he asked before gesturing for her to slow down. He didn’t see any blood but that didn’t mean there was damage. ”Hey there, your name is? Where were you shot? Bullet still in?” he could field treat a bullet wound, that was easy enough especially with an infirmary so close by. Sam still had not been to the infirmary, old Sam told young Sam to steer clear of that place. A grumpy old man lived there.

”Nor should you, I’m not your dad or your brother kid. I’m just me. I would never ask you to share everything. Nor should you expect the same from me.” Sam said with a shrug and apologetic hands. He was over exaggerating his hands to diffuse the situation.
”Preaching to the choir. It might not be as bad for me as you or it could be worse. I relive certain days more than I want to. Things I wanted to change. Apparently it was so bad I was willing to forget everything. Maybe it’s a gift.” Sam said eyeing the target with the two sai’s in it. She seemed to work better when angry. Maybe she was more like Sam than either wanted to admit.
”Maybe, it’s not. But wouldn’t you want to remember things other than books, training?.” Sam formed an snow ball in his hands and tossed it at her underhand so it was easier to catch. ”One thing I will regret the rest of my life is never having time to be a kid.” Sam said then grabbing another knife and lobbing it towards the foot of another target.
”Just saying, it’s okay to enjoy life. If you want someone to play with, think of it this way. This was play time for me when I was younger. I’ll play, or I’ll teach you how to make the perfect snowball. I got nowhere to be.” Sam said, ”And if you’re gonna sandbag and hold back when we’re training I’m gonna increase the weight half-pint.” Sam said with a little smirk pointing to her target.

”I’ll allow it.” Sam said as she finished her glass and started the show. A show that he enjoyed immensely with the occasional gulp from the beer bottle.
Sam made sure to take it in and not say anything until she was arms length away. ”Understatement,” he pulled his jaw up. ”Can’t wait to see what you do for an encore.” he said with a smirk and another swig of beer.
”I’m pretty sure you’ll give me a standing ovation for mine.” the rest of the beer was consumed and Sam moved towards her.

She was checking all the boxes in pissing him off flirting aside, he might have not shown it but he did not like looking weak he spent years being the best, some of it was luck other times it was fighting tooth and nail to survive. The way she was insulting his training was irritating. Sam was betting he never tried to seriously fight her. She probably wouldn’t have been a student long, either he would have killed her or she would have quit.
”Mirror wasn’t as bad as I was. Your teacher looked like a bum. Pretty sure I saw a beer gut too.” he said trying not to show his irritation. ”just the mutation?” he asked trying to slide a insult in to match with his.
”I’m excited to see this creepy power of yours, ladies first” Sam said watching her remove canisters from a bag.

The now young icemancer raised his eyebrows with a smirk. ”Nice dodge of the question.” he too had secrets and if she didn’t want to elaborate he wasn’t going to push her for further answers. No, if she wanted to give information he’d take it but pressing the issue made things more awkward speaking from experience, and the last thing he wanted to do is get questions he didn’t want to talk about.
”Everyone has a reason for doing something. Sometimes it’s as simple as survival, I wasn’t trying to pry. You don’t want to tell me that’s’ fine. But don’t pretend I don’t know how to dodge a question.” he smirked, ” I’m the king of dodging questions. "Next time just say a book.” he already knew she didn’t like reading those sorts of books but it was a better response he deemed. Sam was of the same mindset, heck apparently he had a vigilante team when he was older. He was told not to contact those people, he didn’t know why but was sure he had a good reason so he didn’t look into their files.
”Stuff like this is fine but, kids should have time to be kids. Don’t worry about angles and demons.” he said with a shrug. It was a core belief of his. No one should be kidnapped in the dead of night and forced to become an attack dog like he had. He never got a chance to figure out what was right and wrong until one day he knew that wasn’t who he wanted to be. He just knew he didn’t want to hurt people like that anymore. ”And you’re slowing down.” Sam said pointing to her flipping hand. ”You stalling half-pint?” he asked with a smirk.

She might have been okay not using the ye’ old English but like he said all she had to say was please and after he mock bow she said the magic word and looked cute doing it. Sam raised an eyebrow as he set down his beer, ”Just pleasant?” his shirt was the first thing to be removed scars littered his body in a tapestry of close calls from his life in T.A.T. from what he gathered most of them were healed when he was an adult now however with his eye everything seemed to be back.
Pants were next and soon Sam was nude. Lifting up the bottle and raising a toast he took a big swig then asked, ”So am I gonna have to ask to see you phase out of the clothes or?” he too then added the mock bow and magic word, ”Please.”

She was very quick study. Unnaturally quick, Sam was jealous if he could pick things up the way she did he probably could have escaped when he was younger, much younger. He tried not to think about all the years he wasted in T.A.T. but it was hard not to. Sam nodded his head while he watched Eve throw waiting to see if he had to give her tips or if she wanted to figure it out on her own. ”I have been.” Sam agreed. He didn’t elaborate until she asked her question.
”Sure, let’s go with mercenary.” that was probably the nicest way to describe what he was and what he had to do. ”You’re very astute kid” Sam said looking over to the table and picking up a pair of safety glasses that was next to the throwing stars. He offered a pair to Eve. ”Safety first.” Sam said as he leaned up on the table.
”I was probably a little younger than you when I first had to figure out how to throw. I’m glad you weren’t around when I was learning. You’d show me up every time.” Sam said throwing another knife from the comfort of the table. The blade stuck in the target he had hit earlier this time it was in the other shoulder. ”What do you know about mercenaries?” he asked curiously.

Ignoring the insults he nodded his head, ”Game recognizes game and you’re looking a little unfamiliar, and I’m sure the eye patch did help.”
Sam’s eyebrows raised when she said his powers didn’t pack raw power. They were versatile; she knew that so it was clear they had trained before or at least she had seen his powers. Said powers kicked in briefly giving a chill in the air near Serena. ”You could try. But I don’t want to hurt anyone especially such a pretty woman.” he smirked
”Now what would you consider more appropriate?” Sam asked looking away from her to the two figures with the swords. He too didn’t find the simulation particularly difficult but he made it for a reason so it must have come in handy to practice.

”No parents.” Sam said shaking his head. He didn’t like talking about his childhood there wasn’t really much to talk about seeing as he wouldn’t consider him having a childhood. That ended when he was five. ”let’s just say the place I grew up didn’t allow much free thinking.”
Sam didn’t know what a ****boi was but he was pretty sure he didn’t want to be it. Maybe he should change something in the room now that he knew it existed and how he could get into it. He’d at least have to figure how to get into the room without someone to walk him through the walls. Taking the offered beer Sam removed the top and blew on the bottle frost formed immediately he took a sip knowing it would infuriate the older version of himself. Young Sam wasn’t a recovering alcoholic.
”Or you could just ask.” Sam said returning the grin.

Looking at the juke box now Sam pressed play and When the Levee breaks by zeppelin started to play he turned back to Juniper who phased off the top of the beer. ”Kind of.” Sam said with a shrug, ”Apparently I was planning on doing something with my memories anyways, I left myself a drive with a ton of information on it.” he didn’t go into detail on it. Something’s would have been too hard to explain especially since they just met.
”Something make sense” he pointed to the juke box, ”Favorite song. Always had been always will be. First song I ever heard on the radio.” then he gestured to the rest of the room, ”Everything else not so much. Never had an opportunity to control what goes into my room so it seems I just went overboard or I needed a more discreet place to bring dates.” Sam said with a smirk.
”Cool way to use your power.” Sam said walking towards the kitchen. He leaned on the counter facing her, ”I usually just frost it myself. What else can you do?” he asked raising an eyebrow
