The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Glad she had some appreciation for the setting he decided it was time to land the trees shook from the force of the engines as he lowered into the clearing. He logged the jet’s location (even though he didn’t have to) just in case something happened Maya and Becca would know where to find the jet. He wasn’t worried for Eve but the kid would be smart enough to know to come back to this location if he didn’t come back. He didn’t want to verbalize it but he did. ”If something happens and you don’t hear from me after the mission starts I want you to come back to here.” Sam said pointing to the ground as he unfolded a large tarp and willed some ice clones to form to help him cover the jet.
It was still obvious what the jet was from the ground but if someone happened to fly over or check with a satellite it would just look like overgrowth. ”Make sure you talk to Becca, or Maya. I know Maya is the worst but they will make sure you are safe if I can’t.” he said smirking then giving her the thumbs up, ”If… but this isn’t my first rescue so I’m defiantly not worried.” he said laying a little to give Eve some confidence. He shouldn’t have brought her it was against everything he stood for. Kids needed to be just kids, however Po’s life was in danger and he owed his old teacher.
Once he had his supplies and the jet was hidden enough he hit the button on the underside of the jet and the ramp closed. ”We ready for a hike?” he whispered now. It didn’t matter because they just landed a jet but it was good to get her in the right mindset. ”One mile.” Sam said pointing up in the sky trying to find the right star to guide them. He was just acting now, he already knew his heading from landing the jet but it was a good habit to show Eve. ”Southern hemisphere. Different stars meaning that one there.” he crouched to her level and pointed it out. ”That ball of gas is the one that will tells us which way is north and the van is north.” Sam reached into his bag and removed a small flashlight and offered it to Eve.
”Not afraid of the dark right?” he asked hoping no was the answer. She could use the flashlight if she wanted but he was hoping she wouldn’t so she could see that using natural lighting from the sky you could maneuver in the woods. Eyes adapted.
Sam walked into the tree lines making sure he was quite a chill permeated from his body allowing him to see everything around them. Even without light they no one was going to sneak up on them and no one did. They made it to gray sprinter van and he found everything he asked for. Well worth the money. There were a few televisions hooked up to a wireless feed of the warehouse he was going to leave Eve a mile or so from the facility he was going to enter obviously the televisions weren’t working properly because they were out of range but should kick on as soon as they got closer.
”This is your battle station Eve. It has everything you could possibly need. Bullet proof and break-in proof.” he smiled, ”Ready to roll?”

”So kick the ice back up?” he smirked when she nudged him. Sam might have leaned a little closer to her after that just to make it clear she wasn’t easily approachable. He stopped grinning when he realized he was being out of character if he didn’t have the ice on maybe people wouldn’t notice who he was.
The icemancer raised an eyebrow looking at Cora as she explained that less clothes meant less injuries. Sam only had to fight naked twice less clothes did not mean less injuries, you just had to decide where you were okay with taking damage. Usually it meant one hand was protecting low while the other was protecting high. ”Only true in anime’s I guess.” he smirked, not going into much detail after that.
Sam’s gaze shifted from her blushed face to the belt fumbling and he tried not to smile, ”it was originally supposed to be a home away from home, Old me needed a man cave, guess he had more problems with woman than I do. I’d rather be around them than hide away from them.” he shrugged. Juniper could show up whenever she wanted and so could Maya so the idea of an actual man cave was no longer possible. Sides it meant possible alone time with Cora and any chance he had for that he was in. ”How else am I supposed to get you to hang out with me?” Sam asked grinning knowing he didn’t have to offer them up to get her to hang with him.
His gaze shifted between all the weapons, his mind already getting the basic design for his ice constructs at a later date. While none of them looked practical and they were probably impossible to swing in the real world if he made it out of ice he might have a shot at using one or two of them. More for intimidation than anything else. Then again an ice clone would have no problem wielding a giant hammer. His touched the hammer handle and eyed feeling the heft of the thing as he lifted it. ”Must be for a giant game of wack-a-mole.” Sam set it down then nodded his head to the owner of the booth who made them.
”I’m all about the more practical.” Sam said turning to Cora noticing a giant costume behind her in the shape of a triangle or a pyramid. The costume stood over nine feet and came to a point at the top. It looked uncomfortable to walk around in. ”Gonna guess that one is from a video game.” he said not understanding how it would be easy to move around in.
”What’s next? I’m out of my element.” he said grinning.

Inhaling some of the salsa and nodding his head he agreed with her that those people were @@@@@@@ all of them. The only good T.A.T. agent was a dead one. Sam could say this now that he was no longer affiliated with them. Sam drank some more milk then bit into his empanada his tongue now icing over parts of the tongue where the heat was the worse. He could still taste everything, just made it easier. He was not going to admit there was too much heat.
She looked concerned and then Sam grinned and shook his head, ”I don’t really like to do the talking thing. I found it doesn’t solve anything, just makes me more upset.” he set his glass of milk down then smiled something he did to reassure everyone everything was fiiiiiiiine.
”Found training keeps my head right.” he gestured towards his clothes. ”might ruin my clothes but it makes me feel better.” he said then raising an eyebrow to Lenna, ”Take it you had a similar up bringing?” he asked curiously wondering if talking was easier for her than him.

When she sidestepped the question Sam just raised an eyebrow. ”Whose to say.” his powers made Cora’s face glow again in his normal vision. That was enough for Sam for now. The topic got her flustered meaning she was capable of seeing them that way. He didn’t push it further.
The belts were a good distraction it seemed. Resisting the urge to go for his wallet any time she picked something up he distracted him self by looking at the belts. Sam knew he wasn’t capable of pulling any of them off. Normally he just stuck to black of brown. It was easier for him to match things. ”No Bruno but I’m here.” Sam smirked, his ice arm fading back to his normal arm. ”Then again, I guess I could drop the character.” the cold faded a bit but he wasn’t trying to get Cora’s attention with it. Just keep others away.
His gaze shifted from the belts, to Cora’s costume back to the scantly cladded women she was explaining. ”Right but they don’t wear clothes in the shows?” he asked, ”I mean, easier to move around in less clothing but you got no protection from anything.” Sam shrugged then looked back to Cora again making sure his eyes only lingered on her.
”It’s a date.” Sam said nodding his head, ”You, Bruno and me in the man cave.” his grin was that more of a troublemakers hoping to see some heat rise to Cora’s face again. ”Who knows maybe Cammie will join us.” he smirked at the thought of getting his cat to willingly leave the room. ”Fur blankets as far as the couch stretches.”
Looking over to one of the booths he caught some homemade weapons made of steel. None of which were sharpened, that much was clear and it made more sense to him not to have actual weapons in a crowded place but then again with enough force the giant Styrofoam hammer could be used effectively.
His training and curiosity took over and he found himself walking away from Cora, his eyes looked them over and he shook his head slightly. Some of them were practical others no so much. A seven-foot blade stood out. ”Take it all of those are from animes or games?” he asked looking over at some of the firearms that seemed way to bulky to effectively carry around.

The ice mutant grinned when he watched the basketball shoot up hit the ceiling then fall again. When he caught it with his powers again he laughed a little. ”Seems like you got enough control on it at least.” he thought about the applications of his powers like he was trained to do till he added, ”Practice makes perfect.”
Sam shook his head laughing. ”Ice powers dude, why would I have heat vision.” he smirked willing the area around them to get colder. ”More of a thermal vision.” he said looking at Xavier. ”Body heat stands out in the cold. Meaning I can see you without actually seeing you.” he recalled the cold and watched the next shot.
Sam retrieved the ball, ”Born in Colorado. I’m kinda from everywhere though. Moved around a lot.” he said not diving too much into his history then again if he knew to ask about his vision and the volcano then he probably already knew some of his history. He tossed the ball back to Xavier. Clearly now more distracted talking about powers.
”I can slow time too supposedly.” Sam said not wanting to demonstrate it. It would have gotten too cold and he hasn’t tried it yet in his younger body he didn’t think he’d have a problem but he was more worried fro everyone in the gym. ”You do a lot of danger room training?” Sam asked now forgetting that he was trying to avoid that place due to his defeat by Serena.

”Most heroes never think they are. Something corny?” Sam asked with a smirk, ”No, people might think were dating then.” he tried not to laugh but stared at Cora trying to gauge her reaction. While he normally had an aversion to any form of commitment he enjoyed seeing her reaction.
”What are they gonna do kick me off the team? Who they gonna have piolit the jet, Eve?” Sam laughed and thought they’d probably have mirror piolit till Eve was older enough. Heck he taught her, she could probably out fly him now. Apparently that’s what all his students did. ”I’m not to worried about the shit list. I’ll just do something more heroic than everyone else.” he joked and felt his hand pull him with her.
Sam kept his mouth shut again for the few seconds she held his hand. When she let go he snapped back to reality, ”I’ll let you know how it goes when I see the check.” he said catching her gaze and tracked it to a group of women who Sam immediately felt uncomfortable looking at them with Cora around. ”Some could say it is.”
His gaze snapped back to her making sure he was not looking anywhere else. He sensed a trap, ”Your costume is way better.” he said laughing as one of the girls complained about it suddenly being too cold. Sam grinned and added to Cora, ”Weird I thought it was getting colder too.”
His thermal sense was a bit more active than usual and with him already focused around them Cora’s body had a small underlying glow. Sam closed his eyes and gave his head a little shake before opening his eyes again. Back to normal vision wise. ”So what games are those costumes from? Or is it a show. Keep in mind I misplaced a decade.”

The icemancer reluctantly posed with the young women. Folding his arms he posed not exactly sure if he got the stance down or his arm placement, however he forced a smile and looked back to Cora when the photo was taken.
”Will do.” he agreed. Before looking at her costume again, ”You do look good in leather.” it would make sense for people to drool. He was finding it hard to do the same meanwhile he was in gym shorts and blue T-shirt.
Sam smirked when she snipped something off her elbow. A twinge of fear appeared for himself when she did this but when she kept talking to him he realized it was another poor guy to forget her. ”I mean, that’s one way. I like my method more.” he said sending a little chill towards her. He gave her a wink and followed her to the shirts.
”I can just snag a bunch at the mansion if that is what you want.” the icemancer joked, ”Didn’t know you wanted to be an X-woman.” he grinned looking over the shirts some looked familiar like they had been copied from a few of the uniforms he had seen in the changing rooms. He stopped when he spotted one similar to his and stared at it. ”Should I be getting royalties for this?” the shirt had his two blue ice swords of his patch. It wasn’t Rime’s costume, but rather Cold Steel’s. Sam stared at it for a moment then put it back grinning.
”I think I’d like the costume you are wearing better. Not practical to move fast in but it looks great on you.” he debated making another more inappropriate joke but seeing as they had only kissed and this was their first outing since Hawaii he kept his mouth shut.

”That’s perfect.” Sam said looking to the guy who was first. He raised an eyebrow. ”That there was just my manager.” he smiled, ”Now I know you think you are important but you aren’t. Go to the back and make room for children, women or the elderly. If you don’t and a bunch of people die on the ship I’ll track you down and make sure you join them.” Sam said smiling to the guy glad Maya wasn’t around to hear that.
”Oh, I’m also just an intern so what I do and say does not reflect poorly on anyone on the X-Men, kay? Kay.” he looked back to the scene below and flared his nostrils. If there was someone else that Maya could have grabbed for the mission he wish she did. Yes, he was awesome at flying the jet but he felt he could do more than just keep the entitled in the air while she jumped more people to the ship. Sam however kept his mouth shut.
Sam only did a little heckling to Maya when she showed up he made sure everyone else towed that line and made sure they were in the back of the jet. Away from him. He had no time for them and when Maya was ready for the shift change Sam was all too happy to make his way down. Sam walked to the ramp and eyed the first guy and pointed his fingers at him before jumping without a parachute again. It was dramatic but Sam liked to let people know he was serious.
Sam resurfaced on the water again and started to build another ice pontoon to the other side attempting to spread the center of gravity more on the ship. The only downside to this was when a wave hit that was a little too big it hit the deck sending large amounts of water on the deck. Sam grunted as he rocketed himself upwards to the deck glad no one fell yet.
Sam grunted as people started to surge around him. ”Back the @@@@ up and co back inside and wait for the next shift to get here!” Sam said not understanding the need for heroic speeches in uncertain times. ”We will all make it out of this. Just be ready to go!” Sam said already blasting a wave that was a good ten feet taller than the deck he was standing on. The ice fused to the deck trying to create more of a barrier. ”Just got to run the clock.” he said more to himself.

”Yeah, I know. Why I said it.”
The icemancer smirked when Maya snapped back at him. The smirk quickly faded when Becca asked him to nice. ”Uggghhh fine… only cause you used my code name.” Sam said smirking again. While he would have enjoyed to upset Maya more he didn’t want to upset Becca. She didn’t deserve it. She believed in him not his older self, meaning when she made a request he’d do what he can to make it happen.
”I won’t push myself.” Sam agreed before he looked to Becca and smiled then yelling up to the god room and Maya, ”Pretty bold implying your girlfriend would do something stupid.” Sam laughed and tapped his shoes before getting into a ready stance.
”Ready. X-Men training so no killing right?” Sam joked knowing he’d get a rise out of someone. X-Men weren’t supposed to kill. He however was still fresh from his years in T.A.T. meaning killing was encouraged. No witness no problem.
Sam raised an eye to Becca and smirked, ”Rock n’roll!” Sam grabbed Becca in a one armed hug and launched the two of them towards the building ice only appearing under their feet when gravity started to take over.
”You good with fire? What about cold?” Sam asked knowing it wouldn’t be as good as him unless the rock looking skin made her immune to heat. When they reached the front entrance via ice slide Sam went right to the door blasting it with cold and running through it. His body already icing over and generating cold in every direction.

It was weird wearing makeup when he didn’t have to. It was also weird he found himself at a comic-con he never got to read comics as a kid and he just now was trying to make up for lost time by binging the ‘cult-classics’ he had no idea when he was going to turn to anime. However, enjoyed spending time with Cora something he verbalized when he agreed let her do the makeup. His wig was also a weird feeling on his head.
Luckily he didn’t know anyone here except for Cora so maybe it wasn’t that bad. Could have been better too. Her suit was very eye catching not just for him but it seemed a bunch of other men and women were drooling when she passed by. That might have had something to do his mutation trying to keep people away.
Sadly for Sam it didn’t work that well. He shifted and folded his arms and raised an eyebrow as a kid asked for a photo with his… friend. She liked him he liked her. He shook his head and tried to stop thinking about their relationship or lack of and he threw on a smile when she posed for the photo.
”Do what?” Sam feigned ignorance as he moved in his costume. It also felt weird wearing it. All Sam wanted to do was scratch where the makeup was. It itched. ”Oh you mean stay in character?” he smirked and let off a little mist on the opposite side of his makeup. Sam also might have done some research of his character. The guy could use ice and fire. Essentially a mutant, something Sam could do it also helped his character didn’t like using his fire powers meaning he was good to show off if people kept asking for a photo with his... with Cora.
”Smells like Body Oder…” Sam said smirking. ”I’m helping everyone here.” he smirked as he pulled out his phone and leaned into Cora. ”Come on, I want a photo with you in case you get sick of me.”
Once he took the photo he looked around his eyes locking on Cora’s suit till he realized he too was about to start drooling. ”Doubt I’ll get a photo later with you. Seem to be popular.” the air still cold around them while some ice climbed up his ice side.

When she fell asleep after eating he thought silently to himself hoping there weren’t actual ghosts working for T.A.T. he had seen them before and was capable of freezing them for a moment he didn’t think he’d have the right tools to combat them. Ice didn’t work so well on things that couldn’t feel. The icemancer shifted his gaze from the horizon to Eve who was twitching in her sleep. Part of him wanted to wake her up like he did for Bruno but he didn’t if sleeping was hard for the kid it probably was best to let her sleep for now.
The sky shifted to a darker magenta as the sun started to set they had been flying for some time meaning now was okay to wake Eve up, the sun was just about to drop out of site from their heading. ”V, wake up kid. Shows about to start.” he said pointing to the horizon.
”Sun is setting, you can already see some of the stars and we are about an hour or so from the landing point from there I got a car that will take us to our base of operations.” Sam said with a smirk, ”Now it might not be all that impressive if you can relive it like you do but for those of us without a perfect memory. Just awesome to see it.”

He had trained like this before. In the dark, however he didn’t have his thermal sense then. Meaning when he trained like this there was a lot more pain. Now there was just more danger. The icemancer wanted to figure out how to fully understand the thermal sense meaning he did what he normally did when he tried to understand something about his mutation or self. This time it involved getting beat up by a bunch of thugs instead of being prodded like an animal.
A flash or red appeared behind him, Sam tilted his head to the side missing getting punched and grabbed the hand that just missed him and brought the locked elbow down on his shoulder causing a loud snap with the break. Sam brought his leg to his chest and then kicked the attacked in the ribs feeling and hearing a few more loud cracks.
Sam smirked with the blindfold on his hands up in a guard ready to take on the next attacker. There were two this time. Sam leaned forward into his blocks. One high and one low both were kicks. The body temperatures was giving him pretty clear idea where the attacks were coming from and how they were coming. It helped he saw enough people in his life time throw punches and kicks, now all he had to do was feel and react.
Throwing the high kicker back and then turning quickly with the other leg Sam lifted one of the attackers off the ground and let him fall. The icemancer was starting to get used to it but he doubted he was ready to use his thermal vision in an actual fight with someone on the streets. Too many unknowns mainly it had a tendency to overlap his normal vision which he considered an annoying distraction. People going from hues of pink to bright red or orange and way closer than they were a second ago.
The door opened behind him and he heard his name. He paused for a minute then was tackled to the ground when he was distracted. Sam landed with a thud locking on to his attacker choking him out seconds after he hit the ground. ”Yo.” he managed as he rolled back to his feet dodging a low kick to where his face was a second ago. His hands still up in a guard. ”How’s it going.” he asked knowing the voice didn’t sound familiar.
Letting out an exhale and removing the blindfold the session paused. ”What can I do for you…..” he didn’t know the name and the armor wasn’t a give away. Had he met this guy? ”man?”

Eyes welling up he gladly took a sip from the milk allowing his taste buds to regain their senses. His tongue still on fire while his mutation was doing it’s best to remedy his pain. His breath was visible every time he exhaled almost making it look like his mouth was literally on fire. Another sip of milk and the heat listened for him to talk more, ”Lucky me.” he smirked. It was tasty just for the first couple seconds till he chewed into the spices.
Sam shifted his eyes from the milk back to the Salsa and he felt the challenge in her voice. When she leaned behind him and spoke his hair stood on end, he assumed it was because of her cooking. Not because she was brandishing a knife a few moments ago. The icemancer smirked though not revealing any fear, ”You could have just asked.” he said a spoon reaching for the salsa. He globbed some on his plate next to the Empanada and he just stared at it hoping a few more seconds and the spices would cool down.
”You can call me cool.” he agreed, smirked and then made the mistake of snatching up a little salsa and throwing it in his mouth setting his silverware down he gave it a moment before he eyed the milk again as if it would was his salvation.
He took a drink again then added, ”T.A.T.M.A.H. is the full name, acronym. Supposed to be tactical anti terrorist unit or some $$$$ like that. If anything we did more terrorizing than anything else.” he said with a shrug. The X-men members already knew this meaning Lenna could get some information just by asking around and she gave him milk so he did owe her one.
”The specialize in kidnapping mutant children and turning them into disposable weapons.” he said flatly, ”First one out alive.” he pointed a finger to the sky and then took another bite of the Empanada. ”Why I’m sure there is a bounty on my head.” he nodded. ”They changed names a few times over the years though so I don’t know what they are called, but that was the name while I was being trained.” he said again eating a bit more salsa making sure not to let it hit his tongue.

The icemancer smirked when she showed off her drawing. Part of him felt bad for brining her, knowing that there were untold dangers here. No, she’d be fine she’d be offsite and safe where no one would expect her to be. Sam leaned in to inspect the drawing. ”Looks good kid. Keep in mind you will be walking me through it, meaning you can only go as fast as I go.” he left it at that not sure what he’d run into while he was there. There had to be something to keep Po under control Sam was sure he could handle anything.
Sam waited to respond till after he sat back down in his captain’s chair and kicked his feet out and leaned back in his sleep. ”Only if you are tired, never can be too sure when you get to sleep next.” he said as he placed his hands behind his head and watched the horizon for any danger. He was out longer than he wanted, the location of the sun told him it had been a few hours.
”Eve, do what you need to stay sharp then. If something doesn’t work for you let me know yeah?” he asked knowing the feeling of not wanting to sleep if she relived everything it made more sense why she would want to avoid it. More reason to keep her out of trouble.
”There’s jerky in the bag. Never can be sure when you get the next meal right?” he asked rhetorically.

The icemancer didn’t fully relax till the knife was on the table. Slowly he sat down and looked forward to the spread again then back to Lenna. There were healers in the mansion and as far as he was concerned an empanada wasn’t the worst way to go. He’d always thought his downfall was a pretty smile at least he’d have a full stomach.

Sam let out a small cough then raised an eyebrow. ”Don’t think you’d be the type to poison.” he finally decided. ”I’m good with friends.” he added taking another bite. ”I have a long list of people I train with.” he took another bite his mouth feeling like he could spew fire.
A long sip from his glass he continued, ”Think highly of your skill I take it?” Sam said pointing to the empanada ”Awesome, by the way. Very hot.” Sam said switching to Spanish. ”Thanks again for the meal.” he reached for some salsa.
