The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Petunia nodded to the big red dude that spoke to her. Joshua became paler.
Once on the bus, Petunia shoved Joshua in a seat towards the back and sat next to him, where he had no way out except for the window, and that was being guarded by a single white moth. The rest of petunia’s cloud of moths had been left out side, where they were spreading in the air, and would be left, once the bus was moving.
Petunia sat sideways in her seat, leaning against Joshua, who was shivering and sitting on his hands. Being sure to let his eyes stare at his knees. Mean while, Petunia was planning on mounting another attack on the police. As she sat in her seat, near the back of the bus, she slowly started building a pile of poisonous stinger wielding insects on the seat behind her. Each little friend crawled out from underneath her collar, and flew on the back seat, making a wasp pile.
"Petunia turned around to the big red guy talking about not being sure if all the inmates were mutants. Hand still hauling Joshua and the other hand on her hip. "This one isn't a mutant but he comes with me." She said in such a way that was basically you got a problem with that, too bad. "He's my bro."
having reached the doors, Petunia spun around, Pulling Joshua off balance so that he tripped on his own feet, ramming his houlder into the exit. "Buses sound like fun to me." She paused long enough, pushing the door open just a crack, to see how clear things were, before pushing Joshua out in front of her, and expanding her cloud of white moths to make things harder for potential shooters, to see them.
Joshua was the name of the gentleman Pix was toting on her way out the door. Her brother had been such a fun toy. She didn’t wish for something to happen to him yet, so taking him along with them was the best answer. When he was waved at he stumbled back. Pasty features getting pailer as he tripped on his own heals. Being pulled by pix, who held up his own arm for him, to wave back at her, and the big red men.
“So if they are coming, How many do you think they are?” Petunia asked, leading the way to the left, that would take them out a side door at the front. Not directly at the front entrance, but not dodging where trouble might be either.
Petunia shrugged at Abyss, after having thrown the mask back at the other girl. Two more of the big red guy burst in, with the guard running away, but had obviously been a little mistaken in thinking this was a good place to escape. She giggled when the guard was tossed through the door ways.
“I’ve got to get just one thing.” Petunia said running past the first big red man, and down the hall. She turned a corner, and entered the fourth door on the right. As soon as the door opened someone cried out, and whimpered. Petunia ran in, then reappeared back in the hall way with a young man that looked a lot like her, with the light white skin, and black smooth hair, only he was much taller. She dragged him along the hall way, by the arm, and he moved, stumbling off balance.
Ok… Dodging was fun the first time one of the twins tried to smack little, cute, miss dragonfly around. Dodging was fun, to a lesser extent, the second time, as Petunia maneuvered around the back of the drivers head, but the third. Oh come on!
Pix danced just out of one of the girl’s reach. “Na-nhi-Na-nhi-Naaa-NaaaaH!” Pix swerved backwards towards the front of the car, flying right into the Dash as they experiences some road level turbulence. Smack. “Ouch.” Her little voice practically coughed out as she flipped tail over head, and grabbed to dash to try and cling to it. Peaking over at the wind shield, she could sense her friends that they were approaching, but with the distraction at hand, she had missed the chance to try to conduct a few into the car a head of them, and instead only turned on their aggravation, on a small group of pedestrians. “Oops. Stupid red head made me miss.” She grumbled as her body twisted around in place so she could see the disappearing crowd, swatting their hands over their heads. The pheromones from the first bee stings kept the rest of her first swarm aggravated, enough to keep up the assault. Well she still had other groups that they would be passing.
The cute little miss dragonfly grumbled and dropped off of the dash, darting to the floor under the first seat where it hid for a moment, till it took on a new form. This one was hairy, had eight legs, and was the size of a dinner plate. Utilizing the larger body mass and larger skin surface to make more friends. Bigger friends than what dragonflies could make.
Petunia’s back arched, under the seat, so her abdomen was in the air, and the backs of the hairs rippled. Long lines wiggled under the skin, and finally eight legs grew like weeds in the ground, out from her back. Duplicating the size of the legs she already had, Then a duplicate of her head swam to the surface, with a duplicate of her body. The new spider drone moved aside and Petunia repeated the process. Two spider duplicates, Then three, then four, She continued making them while the first four positioned themselves. Careful not to disturb the girl’s feat, they stretched their bodies out, behind their heals to get by, and swiveled their little legs around for longer reach. The first for were in position when the fifth duplicate climbed out from under the seat.
There was one spider at the foot of each back door flattened between the seat and the weal wells. One stayed under the seat with Petunia, One went under the seat of the driver, and the fifth was the most important. Because he was most likely the first that was about to cause a… reaction…
The fifth looked up, between the sisters, rearing up on it’s back four legs, and placing it’s front two right legs on one sister, and it’s front two left legs on the other, ever so lightly and gently, it began to climb to their knees. The spiders between the seats and the doors, edged their ways more carefully, to the back of the head rests.
Petunia was enjoying this. Now just to find Joshua and make sure he wasn't injured... Too badly. His cell was on the way out so if he hadn't been let out already, she would make sure he was. No need to make him stay here when the building might be destroyed. Even if he was a jerk he was still her brother. And only she had the right to kill him. She'd kill him when she felt like it... So far she hadn't felt like it...
"any mutants are welcome to come back with us to the sanctuary."
"Oh a resistance buddy." Petunia remarked as she stared up at the big mountain of red muscle. Then the other girl's movement caught her attention. because it disturbed her insect's flight path. Petunia spun as the other girl had come at her. Her wings tried to extend but she hadn't cut the faberic of the hug me jacket to let them loose so her movement to jump into the air... was just that. Jumping into the air... then falling on her butt. "Fine, Take it." Petunia flung the mask at the girl's fact. "I think it's adjusted right, now."
Petunia grinned. “The best game ever.” It’s called plinking. She extended her index finger at one of the guards like she was playing cops and robbers, and out of the tip of her finger wiggled another bee. Her thumb moved. “Bang.” She whispered and the bee flew off through the clowd of moths and stung one of the guards in the face.
“Oh my eye.” He screamed. “I’ve been hit!”
"Hide and seek is one of my favorites."
“Correction. We are now playing the very best game ever and the second very best game ever.” Because hide and seek pawned all others. Petunia practically skipped to the other side of the hall where her moths followed. Off in the distance there was a bunch of racket. Other must be playing games as well. Oh her brother would love this. She turned around about ready to go find him, when there was this big red guy standing there. “Um… hi.” Petunia said waving a sleeve covered hand.
"going? But, but ,but you just got here, and what about playing?"
“Oh believe me.” Petunia grinned till she had deep creases in her cheeks. “We will be playing quite a bit.” Petunia turned back around and her green eyes flashed behind her mask, in the light.
The mask, that had seemed so important, was dropped. So Petunia scooped it up, playing with the adjustments so that they looked like it would fit better than how the girl had them. Then slipped the strap over her sleeved arm, like a strap to a purse. The perfect purse to go with thehug-me jacket dress.
"Jeaves, get my suitcases we are leaving."
Yes madam, do you require anything else."
“Oh, oh, oh. I’d like some chocolate cake Jeaves…” The man was already walking away “Jeaves, Jeaves. … Good help is so hard to find…” Petunia grumbled. Ok so now about the rest of their friends. From under Petunia’s collar, the moths began to fly out, and spread into the hall. Being that they were the same color as Petunia’s hug me jacket, she felt she was pretty well camouflaged. That is once there got to be enough of them in the hall. Petunia stepped out, and began walked close to the wall.
Petunia stood there in her preying mantis form, sideways looking at the girl. The mantis shook her head, and hopped off of the locker door scurrying inside of the straight jacket, that had been dropped to the floor when she transformed, again. Once inside the jacket, Petunia began morphing back to human. Using her growing size as a motion to slip her hands and head through the sleeves and collar as she stood up.
Petunia stretched her arms, and popped her back. Somewhere in the distance, the alarm was finally triggered, and a red flashing light had filled the halls. She called the moths back to her, that had been her mask, and they got back in place to hide her face just before the transformation was complete. "I think we've got to get going now." She said to the other girl as she made her way to the door. Petunia pushed it open an inch and her eyes widened slightly. At the very end of where she could see, there was a line of men in guard uniform running their way.
"I'll try to provide some cover." As she spoke, under the collar of her jacket, she was starting to build a group of white moths. Every square inch of her skin was wiggling under neith and ever wiggling bump had a white winged insect crawling to freedom.
Petunia followed. She had been around the asylum off and on, with her brother. He was on a completely different floor, but many of the lay outs were the same and this floor seemed to be similar in layout to the rest. Plus Petunia got lost on her visits to her brother, and getting lost generally makes you find places most don’t. Thus why she suddenly had a new guarded friend.
Petunia followed this new girl till they reached a locker room that she didn’t remember being quite the same on other floors. And there was a locked door that the other girl didn’t seem to be having any luck with…
Locks don’t work around me. Petunia thought as she knocked on the locker. Pressing her right ear against the seem where the door met the frame. Her palms thn pressed against the door as well as her body shrank. Her legs seemed to wilt as they disappeared under the make shift hug me dress and her eyes grew as big as her head, the smaller she got, till she was a tick, and the straight jacket fell away to the ground. Petunia scurried up the locker, inside the vent where she disappeared. Once inside, she divided her body into more little friends. Changing herself into the preying mantis again for more skin surface to create her friends. A full thirty seconds went by before there was a click inside the locker, and the door swung open. Petunia as her preying mantis, tilting her head at the other girl and a small army of other insects where the lock was on the inside.
Petunia patted the girl. Holding up the mask from the guard but it seemed that wasn’t something that could help her.
"Daddy' locker uniform, build the wall."
Petunia’s brow furrowed. “ok so is this something you need? Where would it be?” Petunia blinked.
The man on the floor stopped screaming and the other security guard moved. Trying to help his buddy, but his movement triggered the attack of Petunia’s little friends. He yelped when her first bee got his eye, then followed by the others. He went down, trying to cover his face, as Petunia’s friends got him.
Petunia turned around, while the bee stayed in place. Being joined by several more, that hovered in the guard’s face. Threatening him if he should make a wrong move. Once out of reach, if they stung him, they would leave pheromones that would tell the rest of her bees to sting him as well. Not a fun way to die.
"I wan't my mask, i don't want him to find me, i'm scared."
Petunia put a hand over her. Though the sleeve of the straight jacket was covering her hand. “Where is your mask?” She asked. Not really sure what to do yet.
"I don't want this anymore"
Petunia’s head tilted the other way. She picked up one of the guard’s masks and offered it to the girl. It was the guard’s mask, but would it do? It obviously made a difference with her power effecting them. “Here.”
"Traitors"
“Huhh?” Petunia tilted her head. Mean while the guard was still screaming and that was bound to attract some un wanted attention.
Petunia smirked as the men pulled off their helmets and the girl came out to play. And play she was. The second guard took a step towards her as she was doing… what ever she was doing that that guy that was making him scream so much. “Ah- ah-ah.” Petunia shook her head and intercepted. Stepping between them. This guard might not of been the one to threaten her new friend, but he was guilty by proxy.
Petunia extended a finger, under the straight jacket sleave, to point at the man’s face and a bee followed her finger, Hovering an inch away from the guard’s eye and making him go cross eyed. Every time he moved, the bee followed. “If you so much as breath the wrong way, I’ll take away your sight.” She informed the guard.
"I've been a bad girl."
“Isn’t it fun?”
"Please don't tell daddy."
Petunia tilted her head at the other girl. Still holding the other guard at bay. “Why does he have to know?” Petunia asked. “Does he know what they do to you?”
The preying mantis turned around as the on guard started making threatening gestures to her new friend. No one… If preying mantises could growl, this one would. The guard needed to learn how to treat a lady. Petunia had experience in teaching such things, and those that didn’t learn quickly enough, tasted really good.
First thing was first, Petunia needed to get big, and she needed a mask. Oh yeah. Ad cloths wouldn’t be a bad idea. The four little legs halted in the middle of a hall, and she took a right, scurrying across the tile floor, headed for the closest closet she could remember. Pix stopped outside the door. The flesh under her belly wiggled, till it formed a lump and crawled up to where her preying mantis waist was, A house fly wiggled free from the mantis skin, and darted into the closet. Petunia’s way for checking for cats. For some reason cat’s don’t just like rats, they like bugs and that fact lead to some ugly situations. The fly flew back, and the cost was clear, so the fly was snatched out of the air, and became lunch. Petunia scurried into the closet with her snack.
About thirty seconds passed before petunia reemerged. This time having to push the closet door open because of her size. She stood about 4 feet tall, now, with her black hair draped over her shoulders, and hanging down her back. There was a mask over her face, made from different moth and looking like one of those elaborate feather masks people wear to masquerade balls, and a straight jacket, so long that the hem hung past her knees. Petunia liked playing dress up here. There was just something special about the straight jackets. When they were all strapped up one was forced to hug themselves. That alone had to provide lots of mental stimulation. Everyone should have a hug-me jacket. Though Petunia didn’t have any of the straps tied. You needed a second person to tie the straps and make you show your self some hugging love. So petunia just let the sleeves and straps dangle, and drag, on the ground.
Now. Back to the room. As petunia walked she began gathering her insect forces. There was a light buzz that emitted from under her long hair, as she walked, and she gathered bees. The first string of bees were going to be honey bees. Just a few to get the guards’ attention. She’d see how persuasive she had to get from there.
“Hey Booooyyys” Petunia said rounding the corner, in her new mask and hug-me jacket. They turned to look and Petunia kissed her palm. Blowing them each a kiss. With each kiss a single bee came out of her mouth, and shot straight for the guards. Scurrying under their collars and stinging each guard on the neck. “I think we need to talk about how you treat a lady.”
The girl screamed and the preying mantis just stood there in the middle of the room. Her head tilted the other way and her little mouth moved. Enjoying the first reaction, and then perplexed by the next.
"Secrets , secrets? "
Yes secrets. Lots of secrets. Secrets that love to be known and get so little of what they love. Exactly why there was a preying mantis standing in a mental institute’s cell staring at a mental patient. Because there was a secret there, obviously because there were guards keeping watch. Unless they were just treating this patient special for some reason, because it was un fair that she had guards to keep her company and Pix’ brother had none.
The girl then was closer to pix, and closer to her level, though preying mantises were still small, so Pix still had to lean her head back to look up at the girls face. And she still managed to get a good view up the girl’s nose. The girl waved a finger over her, and pix stretched out her little buggy arm waving back imitating the scolding motion as best she could.
Then came the pet. … … … Petunia was getting pet and Pix didn’t like it. As soft as it was, human hands were heavy and Petunia’s head bobbed with the motion… ok that was interesting…
"I'm not crazy "
Of course not, Petunia petted bugs all of the time because pix knew they hated it.
"Atleast i got a friendsy to play with now."
Play? She wants to play? What game would she play with a mantis?
"We are going to have loads of fun they say."
Petunia’s little mantis head shifted and tilted like a little mantis nod. I like fun. Pix thought.
"Did you bring toys? What kind of a silly question is that."
That was a dam good question because preying mantises could have toys if they wanted to have them. And pix liked toys.
“I like toys."
Petunia waved her little preying mantis arms back and forth in the air, “Hold on one minute.” She said out loud as she hopped and a soft buzz cam from her wings as she moved across the room. “Of course I have toys. I jut have to make them.” This girl wanted a play mate, and Pix wasn’t going to waist this opportunity. “I’ll be right back.” She hit the wall near the door as one of the guards swung his foot at her, to smoosh her, and disappeared out the door.
