The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Chloe was walking down the street, almost to the park. She was so full of conflicting emotions. She was mad and upset and excited all at the same time. She would finally get to see her brother again. She was happy that he was alive and that he was back and that they could get to be around each other again, but she was still so upset about him leaving and being gone so long. He was her brother; she couldn't stay mad at him for long. Not if she saw him anyway. She was also scared. She didn't know how much her brother had changed. Was he the same as when he left? Had some violent act changed him mentally? Physically? Would she have to be afraid of him now?
She pondered over these things as she walked and didn't even realize that she was already in the park now and was not far from where Ty was under the statue. She walked up to where he was and hung her head low, scared to meet his face.
She stood for a few seconds and then slowly glanced up to look at him and said, "Hi, Ty. I...I missed you." with a meager half smile. She looked back down at her shoes and could feel herself on the verge of crying. She tried to keep the tears at bay, but there was no means of fighting them back. She began to feel the warmth of her tears, running down her cheeks. She clenched her eyes shut and just let all of her emotions come out as she cried. She sobbed loudly, wanting to spill out everything she was feeling, but words wouldn't come out of her mouth. Nothing, but sob and cry and groans. She began to shake from all that she was feeling and yet, the only thing that she wanted was for her brother to come and hold her as she cried. For him to be the same man that he was when he left. For him to still love her and be her brother. But she was scared that all that she wanted for him, for them...that it wouldn't be the way it was before.

Butterfly listened as Panu explained his idea and put his trust in her to watch out for him. Butterfly smiled to herself as she watched Panu sort of shut himself down to go hack Lori's bank account. She saw that the camera had shut down, but she had to be absolutely sure that he couldn't see her. So she crawled over his camera lens and when it did not react, she fluttered off into the room and tested the waters, she began to shift into her human form. Once her shift was complete, she paused to see if the boy had even noticed the change.
She quietly tiptoed over to where Panu was laying in the bean bag chair and carefully eased the laptop off of his lap. She began to search through the files and see what she could find of Jaager's, but as she continued her search, she realized that a lot of Lori's information was on the computer. She grew kind of curious and began to read some of the lab reports and her idea of Lori began to change. She had always been sort of wary about Lori, but she had decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. She looked at her financial records and things didn't seem to add up. Maybe Panu was telling the trough about what kind of person Lori Faust was, but that didn't mean that maybe she could playboth sides of the playing field. Maybe while she began to find out more about Lori, she could also see if Jaager was equally as bad. Though with the things she was reading about Lori, she began to doubt that anyone could be any worse.
She quickly found herself immersed in the reading on the laptop and quickly found herself forgetting to check if Panu had began to stir any or show any sign of waking from his hacking. She got comfortable and could not have prepared herself for what would possibly happen next.

Butterfly began to feel her rage against this company soften, slightly. She began to realize that this 8 year old boy was just that, a child. He was being manipulated by the adults running this company and all he was trying to look for was approval and love and care from someone he looked up to. That was all. Chloe's heart began to soften from the stone she had created it to be. She couldn't believe that she actually thought about paralyzing this young child with her blood. Maybe there could be a way that she could get to know this young boy and learn information another way. Maybe there was more to Lori than she thought.
When they entered the server room, she did notice that none of the tech had any cords connecting them to anything outside the room and they all looked very brand new. She realized that they would probably not have very much on them and that the boy would be the only one to access anything in this room. She realized that she would have to give up on her mission and re-evaluate how she would gain information. She also realized that she needed to snoop more into Lori than she had before. To be honest, she was hoping that this was going to go a lot easier than what it was, but she understood that maybe she was being biased by Lori and that maybe this young boy could help her understand. She wanted to talk to him, but she didn't want to signal any alarm to him that would trap her here. He seemed so nice. She didn't even know his first name.
She noticed that he brought down a laptop and began to show her Finnish swallowtails and told her about his friend Parvi. He didn't seem cruel and kids are usually more understanding than adults are. She fluttered over to his hands as if to tell him to relax and that it was okay to be upset about losing a friend. She had lost plenty of people and had moment of anger and confusion just like he did. She wondered what else he was doing inside his mind while he was being nice to her and letting her get to know him more.

Chloe walked alongside Lori and nodded upon being asked if the shopping place could be a surprise. But when Lori began to question Ty being her brother and her @$$hat dad being her dad, Chloe began to get really ticked off. She could see the look of mischief on her face and knew that Lori had to be up to something, but wasn't sure what just yet. So Chloe held her anger in for the moment until she could see what Lori was up to. She also noticed that Lori started to take a liking a little too much into her family. Why was she so interested in Ty and her father? Why is she questioning it so heavily? All of these things made Chloe suspicious of Lori and her motives. To be honest, Chloe even debated on even telling her thte true story of how Ty and Chloe came to realize that they were brother and sister, but she decided to give it to her. To get close to an enemy, you have to be willing to part with some truths, but not show your hand with all that you know.
"Well, when I first came here, I ran into this guy and he touched my necklace and had a psychic vision with details about my mom that only I could know and he then talked about his dad being in the vision and described him to me. I realized who he was because I remember him being around my mom when I was a kid and his name was on my birth certificate, but never met him after I came here. After my dad left, my mom would try and find other guys to date, but she never stayed with one for long. Before then I had never seen Ty before, but with the knowledge that he knew there was no doubt that he was my brother and he began to spend time with me and helped me and never took advantage of me in anyway. So even if I were to find out that he wasn't my "actual" brother, I'd still treat him as such because we've bonded and grown close to each other and he has treated me as such, but the question comes to mind as to why a person would be willing to do all of that for a person that they don't even know, doesn't have any alterior motives, and spend time, energy, and money on them, if they aren't family or love them?"
She wasn't trying to start an argument with Lori, but was more or less trying to pick her brain a little and see if she would give up some info she may be hiding. Chloe was trying to trust her, but until she understood where her heart and intentions lay, there was no way that Chloe would be willing to give all of herself to Lori. No yet anyway.
Butterfly didn't have to wait very long for the little 8 year old to walk her right to the JW building. She noticed though that when she flew up to his face that he was blind. He didn't move his eyes to even notice her. She didn't know this before, but thought it might help later on if push came to shove and she couldn't get the answers she was looking for.
As they entered the building, Chloe started looking around and noticed all the heavy security.'Well, there goes my idea of trying to shift and look around and be nosy. I guess I'll have to just try and wing this whole mission out and pray I get back out without being noticed,' she thought. Though the boy did do something that surprised her, he apparently used the camera that was hanging around his neck and one of the security cameras to examine her. It was then that she realized that this boy could control technology and the cameras. If she were to shift anywhere in this building, she was screwed; Not that she didn't already know she was screwed due to the security, but that it was all controlled by this 8 year old boy and that he would be able to control all technology everywhere. She had to plot and plan this just right. That camera was his eyes and for her to get the information she needed, that camera would have to go, but that would be later and she could use it as leverage.
It was then that she was snapped back from her plotting to realize that she was being noticed at the front desk and that he was taking up for her to stay where she was and even trying to "calm" her when the elevator started to move down. She didn't know what he was saying because it was foreign to her, but could tell that's what he was doing because of the tone he used. As they were riding the elevator, Chloe carefully crawled to the front of the boy's shirt so she would be able to see better. Maybe she would even explore his camera to see the extent of him seeing that way and to seem more "realistic". She had just gotten to a comfortable spot when he started walking forward out of the elevator and began to speak to a British guard. She thought if was quite odd that they were talking about her being an evil or good butterfly and yelling if she was good. She didn't know exactly what that was supposed to mean, but realized it was serious when she heard the guard radio a caution to the other guards. She was ready to see what she could find in the room they were about to enter and maybe she wouldn't give herself away. She had to make sure that while she was snooping that she didn't leave to boy too long and he leave without her. He was gonna be her way out and she wouldn't be able to move forward without him playing right into her hands.
Chloe had been keeping up with the media lately and saw all the horrible things that was going on with her friend, Lori Faust's pharmaceutical company. She had heard from some sources that it has been JW Headquarters that was the reason behind the hacking and falsified information. Chloe had just gotten to become good friends with Lori and knew this unwarranted attack was probably stressing her out and was very much not needed. It pissed her off to know someone was trying to overtake Lori's company. She was trying to help people and Chloe couldn't just stand by and see someone slander her name for the progress she was making.
Chloe decided that she would go investigate herself in the JW building and see what she could find that Mr. Jaager might not want being found out about his business. She would find what she could and she would leak it to the press just like they had done to Lori. Everyone has secrets that they don't want brought to light, but if anyone thought they could mess with her newfound "family" and not have some repercussions, then they were sadly mistaken. She didn't have Ty back and Lori now was her only family.
Chloe had seen that a boy had been with Mr. Jaager all the time and thought maybe could find a way into the building with him. She knew there would be strict security and that she as a human form wouldn't be able to get by without being noticed. So as she walked down the crowded street, she ducked into a vacant alley and began her shift into her butterfly form. After shifting, she took flight and began to search for the boy. Most people don't notice butterflies flying close to them. They look and think how pretty and how they aren't being bothered by them, so they aren't likely to shoo or brush her away. She had flown up a few blocks when she thought she saw the boy and fluttered closer to get a better look.
Once she had flown up to about his face, she instantly recognized him from newspaper pictures of him and other media sources. She lightly perched on his back/shoulder area and hung on for dear life, making sure the wind didn't blow her away and his steps didn't knock her off his shoulder. She also made sure she stayed silent. She didn't want him to know that she was anything other than an ordinary butterfly. She hoped that where he was going now would be to the JW Building and that he would take her to the places that she needed to get to.
Maybe, just maybe...she would get away with the information she needed without being noticed or alarms going off. She was doing this for Lori. She kept that in her mind as she began to plot her future moves.

Chloe tossed the cig butt on the ground and stepped on it. She looked up at Lori and said, "It depends. Kill my dad...yes. Kill my brother or anyone I'm close to...no, but mess with them and I will end whoever they are in a heartbeat. I'm very loyal and protective over the people I care about. I get tired of being lied to and treated like a kid. I can handle it. I'm an adult now. "
Chloe looked up at Lori when she spilled about having money without surprise. "I could tell you have money with the nice manicured nails you have and brand of clothes you're wearing, but I wanted you to tell me. And sometimes you don't know all the details of what a person's going through, but I'm willing to be a friend through anything and help however I can."
Chloe thought back on the days when Ty would go shopping with her and how much fun she had and how much she missed him doing that with her. She hoped that her memories wouldn't be the last ones she had with Ty. She hoped that there would be another day for them to shop and laugh and pickpocket lessons like the countless times before. Maybe shopping with Lori would be fun. Maybe she found someone she could trust. Besides from the looks of her kinda money, you don't turn down a shopping invite, especially if it's on her dime. Chloe smiled big for her and nodded excitedly,"Where do you wanna shop?"

Butterfly listened to Lori's points, surprised that her life was about as bad as her's. Though she was glad her brother was different. She knew Ty wouldn't just leave her for no reason, but she was just mad that she didn't know where he was and if he was even alright.
When Lori asked if her brother was younger or older, Butterfly responded, "Older, but I wish I would have had him around when I was growing up. He was a great guy. I'm just worried about him because I don't know what's happened to him. He was someone I really cared about. My mother sounds like your mother. She was always bringing guys home with her, but never really cared much for being with me. I kinda raised myself."
Butterfly shook hands with Lori and smiled at her. It felt kinda nice to know that someone actually would take her as family. She looked down at her cig and flicked away the excess ash, drawing another long puff from it. It was almost to the point of being a stub."Ya know I didn't even know who my father was until I got here. I found out how horrible he was to my brother and am glad he wasn't around when I was growing up. His name was Jonathan Fisher. Thank God Ty stabbed him. If he didn't, I would have. He was a bastard. I would have drug his death out much more painfully. He deserved it."
She looked down at the ground and exhaled her smoke before looking over to Lori, " At least I have you now. So where are you gonna go now since the mobile home has been towed? Could I come with you? I mean, I understand if you don't want me to. Just meeting me and all."

Butterfly took the cigarette that Lori had handed her and lit it with the stub of her old cigarette. "Thanks, Lori. I appreciate it." Butterfly held the smoldering stub to the end of her cigarette and proceeded to inhale a couple of short times to get the cigarette to light. Once she had it lit, she dropped the stub onto the ground and stepped onto it to put it out. It had served its purpose and if they had another cigarette that they wanted to smoke then they could just use the ones they were smoking now. She took a deep inhale and held it for a moment before letting the large cloud of smoke escape in her exhale. Lori was definitely smoking cigs that were pretty strong and were pretty good quality cigs. She had good tastes. The natural flavor of regular tobacco was decent and she could tolerate it as long as it didn't taste like dirt, but if she had to pick a kind that she preferred, it would have been a more menthol cig. At least then the smoke felt cool going down.
Butterfly had stood there with her eyes closed as she took her first few hits, but opened them when she heard Lori curse. She opened her eyes and saw that the ash from her cigarette had burned her shirt. Butterfly reached over and helped her brush the ash away. "Don't you hate when that happens. Ever since I had that happen with one of my favorite tee's, I constantly try and flick my ash away. No since in ruining anymore of my clothes with burn holes. Man, if my brother could see me now, he's probably fuss at me and flick the cig outta my hand. I actually wouldn't mind if that did happen. At least then I would know that he was here with me and not God knows where. I haven't even heard from him in almost a year. Hell, his disappearance is the reason I started smoking. Just another way to cope without crying and feeling like you're completely alone. I'm sorry about your house Lori. Do you have anywhere else to stay? I know we just met and all, but I could maybe help you get a hotel room until we could find you somewhere if you need it. I know what its like to have a house that you can't go to anymore. It's not fun. Let alone having to worry that if you go back someone might try to kill you. That's why I'm here now. I couldn't stay in Georgia any longer. Dad's dead, Mom abandoned me to "go find herself", house got robbed, and didn't even know I had a brother til I came north and now he's gone. So I guess I really am alone in this world. Not just a feeling, but an actual fact. I have no one." She watched as the tow truck took the trailer, wondering where she would go after this. She puffed on her cigarette some more, thinking about Ty and if she would ever see him again. She contemplated the idea of just saying f@$% it to her life and always being nice. Screw everyone. They would just leave her anyway. The least her brother could have done was tell her where he was going. She stood in silence with Lori, she looked over at her to see if she was maybe feeling any better.

Butterfly was walking down the road when she noticed what looked like a house being towed away and a young woman standing not too far away smoking. Butterfly, wearing a tank top that shows her butterfly wing markings that arose at puberty and a pair of jeans that her brother, Ty Fisher, bought her when they would go on their shopping sprees together. She had her long dark hair pulled up into ponytail so that the wind wouldn't keep blowing it into her face as she walked.
It was one of those days when Butterfly really missed her brother. He had been gone about a year and she had no idea where he was or if he was even alive. She hadn't heard from him and since he's been gone, Butterfly has felt kinda lost. It hadn't been that long since she found her brother and gotten to be close to him. He was the only family she had and now that he was gone, she didn't know what to do. She had picked up the habit of smoking trying to deal with his absence and she thought about she could just see him now getting on to her for it.
When she saw the young woman smoking, it kinda triggered her urge to smoke a cig and knew that smoking might help calm her down and keep her from crying and being so upset about missing her brother. She pulled the pack of cheap cigarettes from her back pocket, no doubt it was one that she managed to lift from some lady's purse earlier that week, and opened the box to pull one out, but she had forgotten that she smoked the last one earlier and needed to get more. Butterfly sighed and walked over to the young woman, hoping that she would let her bum one or a few from her. Butterfly waved to her and called out,"Hey, do you have a cigarette I could bum off you? I smoked my last one earlier and need to get another pack. My name's Chloe by the way. Is everything okay?" Butterfly had noticed that the young woman seemed kinda flustered or upset.

Butterfly listened intently as her question was answered and knew that she would do well on the quiz. She wasn't scared at all, but knowing the competitiveness of this internship position made her that much more determined to score high and do well. When the pencils and quizzes were passed out, Butterfly eagerly took one of each and found a spot to take the quiz. She looked over the entire thing first and began answering the questions she knew the correct answers to. After answering a few of them, she skimmed over questions with explanation sections and let the ideas mull over in her head as she answered the remaining easy questions. She then worked on the chemical reaction equations in the chemistry section. Nothing like a little math to let you subconscious work on the difficult ones. She had learned this method when she was little and taking tests and it had never failed her. It was never an issue of whether or not she knew the material, but her ability to recall the info while taking the test. She did not wanna stress over doing well and blank out.
After finishing the entire chemistry section, she went back to some of the difficult biology questions and began to explain the exact process by which pathways were used for cellular communication with their respective primary and secondary messengers and expected outcomes in a normal reaction and also what would occur with abnormal environmental conditions and mutations that would ensue in the DNA strand. Her response may have seemed long winded, but she felt it was better to explain every connection from cellular stimulus to organelle response and tying it back into the big picture of things. When Chloe was still living at home and she would get home from school, she would often review things that were taught that day in class, but would then read ahead and connect what she already knew to the new things she was learning in the next chapters and sections. Even though she got picked on heavily for being such a book nerd and doing so well in her classes, Chloe continued to get ahead and further her knowledge. She knew that they were just jealous because she was always praised and would often be recommended to those who were struggling in class. Chloe smiled as she thought back over those days and that her intelligence had gotten her to where she is now and would always help her further herself in life.
The final section was over lab procedures. These were pretty easily answered for those who had been in lab settings before. Simple recognition of safety symbols and where certain chemicals should be stored and what to do with bio-hazardous waste in the lab, but the doozy was the questions concerning ethics in lab settings. It's really difficult to be wrong with these questions, but there are possibilities for better answers and responses when reacting to a situation. Plus, this section would demonstrate a person's character and morality, which would be heavily taken into account when being considered for such a high stakes lab position.
When Chloe finished her quiz, she calmly walked over toward Ms. Faust, took a deep breath and handed her the completed quiz and pencil. She smiled warmly and asked, "Did you want me to wait until everyone has finished completing the quiz or could I go and re-visit some of my favorite sections from the tour? Or maybe could I go and read about the research that each scientist is working on currently?"

Butterfly walked around with the group in a dark purple knee length skirt and a button up dress shirt, notebook and pen in hand writing down notes as they visited each section and anything she found interesting said during the tour. As they walked past each lab and watched the scientists work on various procedures, Butterfly tried to identify procedures she recognized and wrote them down for studying later. She wondered if there was any Microbiology lab work being done in the facility as well, which would be a section she would really enjoy. Considering they were at a pharmaceutical company, she would think that there would be research on that somewhere in the lab. Butterfly was really excited to try and get a position as an intern at this facility. She had always been curious as to how a person's genetics and mutations in the DNA lead to physical and mental alteration. She herself was a mutant and didn't know how it happened. Butterfly was a avid science nerd and loved to read about the new research whenever she got a chance to in the library.
As she was being lead to the conference room, Butterfly could see the CEO, Ms. Lori Faust. She was a very pretty woman and when she asked about what their research was about and her hand shot up before she could think of raising her hand. She answered Ms. Faust's question and even blushed a little as Ms. Faust acknowledged her intelligence and her boldness to respond so quickly in front of such a large crowd. She couldn't help but know because she had read the article in the library a few weeks ago on a lazy, rainy day. She often thought about just hiding out and staying at the library all the time since she stayed there so much.
When Ms. Faust discussed being trained in all of their advanced procedures, Butterfly almost squealed with joy. She was so eager to get to the next step to become an intern. Whatever it was, she wanted to go for it and win. When the CEO asked if there were any questions. Butterfly's hand raised and when it was indicated that she should speak, she asked, "So exactly what process do we have to go through to obtain a position as an intern here since we've all had the tour? And would it be possible to intern in more than one section of the lab?"

Chloe ran as fast as she could. She was trying to help her brother along as well. When he asked for her to go on ahead, she tried to wave him off. Obviously, she wasn't gonna leave her brother. She didn't wanna leave him and Captain Two-Sizes-Too-Small Spandex get a hold of him. But as soon as Ty suddenly stuck his head in a trash can--"Oh my God. Ewwwww....No he didn't just..."-- *cringe* --Chloe understood why he asked for her to go ahead. "Man, next time just tell me you have to throw up or you're gonna be sick", Chloe said over her shoulder as she began to climb up the fire escape and still looking to make sure Captain Shrinkwrap wasn't close. She kept watch just like her brother asked her to, but she was still kinda worried about him. She knew he needed to rest, but she didn't wanna just be sitting ducks either. She hoped that they could just lay low now and that they had put enough distance between them that they wouldn't get caught now. As Chloe began to catch her breath, she would peek over cautiously every now and then, making sure not to linger too long if he should look up to the rooftops.

Butterfly followed her brother's lead. As soon as she realized that the officer had begun to see the vision that Ty wrote and yelled "Go!", Chloe took off and began to run as fast as she could, but she made sure that her brother hadn't fallen behind. Usually Ty was faster than she was and would have been ahead of her already, but this time he wasn't. She figured his power must have worn on him and bit and had slowed him down. Chloe scurried to help her brother catch up and regain his speed and agility. She didn't know where to go, but she just knew they didn't need to get caught and that she wasn't gonna leave her brother's side. She was scared to death. Heart racing, blood and adrenaline rushing to her muscles to keep her going. She was looking for a ladder or fire escape to get them to a roof top or something. Some way to make following them difficult so they could get away and lay low for a while. It was exciting and invigorating, but she never felt more alive. Finally, she was being bold and standing up to someone and being reckless. Better than being numb and scared and complacent. That was the Chloe that got beat up as a kid and didn't have anyone to care about. That part of her was dying and the new personality that had been locked away for years was starting to shine through. And it showed no sign of leaving. "Ty, where are we going? You know a shortcut somewhere so we can escape and hide out for a while?

Butterfly held her pose and watched as Kiva began to sketch and draw. She wondered how it would turn out, but knew that she would just wait for Kiva to finish her painting before asking to see. It's always better to see an artwork when it's finished and not mid-way through the process. Any comment made about an artwork when not finished would alter the artist's perception and change the finished artwork. You'd never be able to know what the artist would have made before you made the comment and Butterfly understood this completely and wouldn't do that to Kiva. She'd wait and see that spectacular work when Kiva was finished. When Kiva was finished and asked Butterfly to come down for wing stuff, Butterfly smiled and shifted right on the branch and fluttered down to where Kiva was and landed on her hand. "It feels good to shift and stretch my wings. I hope this is okay. I know you needed my wing design for the picture. And we can still talk like this even though I'm shifted. Is it okay that I'm on your hand?"
