The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Regan laughed with Butterfly with her comment. “I take it you don’t have much control over your powers then do you?” She smirked and picked off a few more ripe vegetables before setting the basket back down on the work bench.
“Thanks Butterfly, that’s nice to hear. I’ve only taken over the greenhouse in the last week or so, but I really enjoy it. The plants were really rough when I got here, but they seem to be perking up now.” She smiled and carefully took off her apron so she wouldn’t knock Butterfly off her shoulder. She hung it on its little hook by the table and picked up the basket of vegetables. “Ready to go inside?” she asked warmly.
With a warm smile, Regan nodded at Jacob’s comment about turning his thumbs green. “Well I will certainly try my very best to keep you from killing anymore plants. I don’t know how good of a teacher I will be, but I will try and that’s all that matters.” With that Regan spun on her heels and strated to head down the long hallway.
With a nod to Mariusz asking for her to keep leading the way, Regan confirmed what he had told Jacob. “That’s right; adults at the mansion get private rooms. I have my own room as well since I’m roughly 20 years old. The students are two per room.” She smiled over her shoulder and continued. “The rooms come furnished so if you decide to stay all you have to do is move in your personal items and clothing.”
Regan’s feline ears flicked back as she heard one of the set of steps paired up to fall as her’s did. She looked over her shoulder and noticed it was Jacob. She giggled and turned forward to keep leading the men down the hallway. Military men never really changed, she thought to herself.
Turning in the direction of the city, Regan started to slowly walk in that direction. Looking over her shoulder to make sure Clyde was following her, Regan answered his questions. “Yes the mansion is also called Xavier’s Sister School. It is a school for mutants. I live and work there as the gardener.” She smiled and stepped over a fallen branch.
“I’m guessing that you don’t live there then.” Regan assumed since Clyde wanted to head into the city to get home. The mansion was treating her quite well so far and she quite liked the place and her job there. She wondered if she should invite Clyde to come visit her there some time, but then decided that right now might not be the best time to bring up him spending more time around the, how did he put it again, “angry tigah” was it? That thought made her sigh out loud.
Regan smiled and gave Butterfly a nod, “Yes, it’s a school for mutants. They teach the basics that any school would teach, but they also teach mutants how to control their powers and use them safely.” Regan chuckled and shook her head when Butterfly asked her what she taught at the school. “I don’t teach anything, I’m just the gardener and groundskeeper here at the mansion, though I suppose I could teach people how to grow plants if they would like to learn.”
Regan gave her little friend another soft smile, “I can show you around the basic areas of the mansion if you would like. It is a pretty nice place, I live here myself. There are some children that don’t live here but do attend classes and training sessions here at the school.” Regan said as she grabbed a basket and started to remove some of the ripe vegetables from the plants in the garden.
Regan kept her emerald eyes locked onto the large reptile below her. It continued to make chirping and clicking noises as it bobbed its head in her direction. Well it obviously knew she was in the tree so there was no way she could hope to remain unnoticed, some days she cursed her red hair and green stripes. She might as well just strap Christmas lights to herself and hold up a sign that said “Hey Look at Me!”
She noticed that the reptile was starting to move around in the snow, getting a little curious Regan hopped down to a lower branch so she could see better. The creature was writing in the snow! Well there was no way an animal could write in the snow! Even Regan couldn’t understand human speech or any writing when she was in her sabre state. This creature must be a shape shifting mutant.
Still cautious, Regan waited on the branch, the letters in the snow spelt out “Hell” so far. Suddenly the reptile’s attention was drawn in another direction. Following the direction of the mutant’s gaze, she spotted a rather terrified looking girl backed up against a tree. Regan’s eyes shot back down to the mutant below her who was baring her teeth at the poor girl. Without a second thought, Regan started to bound from branch to branch, working her way down to the ground to stop whatever was about to transpire, there would be no innocent blood shed tonight, not if she could help it!
Regan was quite flattered by the compliments that Butterfly was giving her. She was just being herself, doing her best to treat all creatures with respect. “Thank you again, you are too kind.” Glad to find out that Butterfly was also a mutant and that Regan wasn’t losing her mind, she laughed. “Well it’s nice to meet you Butterfly, I love your colors, you are a very pretty butterfly.”
She listened intently as Butterfly explained her situation. “Oh well I can tell you that you are at Xavier’s School for the Gifted. It’s a giant mansion for mutants. I can certainly try and lend you a hand, I am not overly familiar with the city as I do not go out into the public, but I can try to get you to a more familiar area if we travel through the woods.”
Enjoying her perch in the tree, Regan sat down on the branch with a leg on either side of it. The moon was lighting the area just enough that her eyes easily adjusted to the darkness and that allowed her to see clearly. She relaxed back onto the trunk of the tree and looked up at the stars in the dark blanket of sky. Her fur ruffled softly in the breeze and she started to purr softly. She was really enjoying this.
Regan’s peaceful perch was suddenly interrupted by the crunching sounds of snow under something’s feet. She scented the air and picked up something new, it was a rather odd scent to put her finger on. It was somewhat lizard like but it was also somewhat of a decayed smell. Rather confused and cautious, Regan scanned the ground around the tree she was sitting in. She couldn’t really see anything in the area, but she kept trying, and then she heard the chirping sound below her.
Regan looked down and between the branches. What the heck was that? It looked like a dinosaur! There was a large lizard like creature below her with a few feathers on it. It kind of looked like those big raptors from Jurassic Park, but slightly different. This wasn’t possible, what on earth was below her and was it a threat?
Tilting her head to the side Regan watched the creature closely. The possible threat made the sabre tooth press on her mind, the animal wanting to protect herself. Regan shoved the overbearing cat to the back of her mind for the time being, she wasn’t about to go ripping through the forest or killing a rare creature for no reason. For the time being she was going to stay where she was and observe the creature.
Regan returned Serena’s warm smile with one of her own, she really did enjoy Serena’s company, she seemed like a nice girl who was just a little lost right now. Funny thing was that Regan herself was in a rather lost state herself. “The pleasure was all mine Serena. I am usually always alone on my walks; it was very nice to have some company for a change.”
Regan grabbed Serena’s hand with her own fur covered one and started heading to the front doors of the mansion, she walked up the steps and opened the door for them to go inside.
Regan shrugged her shoulders at his decision, she really just wanted to try and make him feel better. “Well I didn’t mean to yank on my tail like your brother did, but I do understand your point. Following me is fine by me; I just would like you to make it out of here safely.”
Sniffing the air and scanning the woods, Regan tried to pin point where about they were in the woods so she could lead Clyde in the right direction. Once she had a general idea, Regan looked down at Clyde and smiled softly. “Ok Clyde, where do you need to head, towards the mansion or the city to get to the public transit?” Regan hadn’t seen Clyde around the mansion yet, but then again she wasn’t indoors much so she could have missed him if he lived there. Either way, she would ensure that she left him somewhere safe before leaving his company.
Regan continued to wait and listen to the men speak about adapting things for Mariusz to learn more combat skills, she grimaced as Jacob mentioned almost breaking his hand by punching someone. Any mention of breaking bones made Regan squirm, too many times had she had hers break in the bars of her cage growing up, and a few times had to have them broken again because she healed faster than a doctor could set them. “That does not sound pleasant Jacob.”
Smiling at Mariusz and Jacob, Regan gave Jacob a nod at his comment. “Oh of course, I think that would be a fair trade on skills. I have some spare pots in the greenhouse; we can pick you out something easy to start with.”
With a little skip in her step, Regan started up the stairs to the second floor once again. She curled up the end of her tail to keep it from dragging on the floor or getting stepped on accidently. “Just follow me, it’s a bit of a walk but we’ll be there before you know it, right Mariusz?”
Regan ensured that the butterfly was placed safely on her calla lilies before heading back to the watering can to continue watering the plants. She moved gracefully through the greenhouse, working her way to all of the plants that needed to be watered. Suddenly the little butterfly landed on her shoulder and, started to talk to her? Was the heat in the greenhouse getting to her?
Unsure what was going on, Regan looked at the butterfly on her shoulder. “Ummm, hello? I’m Regan, thank you for the compliments.” Regan looked a little puzzled and tilted her head to the side. “Am I really talking to a butterfly?” She asked as she looked around the greenhouse once more to see if one of the mutant children was playing a practical joke on her.
Watching the little butterfly carefully as it walked onto her hand, Regan smiled. Her ears twitched as she heard someone say “thank you” though there was no one else in the greenhouse. Standing up slowly so that the butterfly wouldn’t be knocked off her hand by a sudden movement, Regan looked around outside on the grounds. There was no one that she could see, but then again her hearing was very good; maybe there was someone in the distance or out of view outside talking to someone else.
Shrugging it off, Regan moved slowly over to her work bench where she had placed the several calla lilies that she had repotted the day before. She carefully brought her hand up to one of the large leaves and waited for the butterfly to move off her hand. “Here you go little one, you will be safe here to enjoy the afternoon sunshine.” She used her index finger of her other hand to gently nudge the butterfly forward onto the leaf so she could continue getting her work done.
Hearing Clyde give the ok, Regan turned around to face him in his now properly fitting clothes. She was glad he had thought of that. Watching as he took out his flashlight and tried several times to make it work to no avail, she sighed and waited for him to speak. When he finally did ask about her idea she smiled softly and offered it up. “Well just like all cats I can see in the dark so I’ll be able to lead you out, and here’s the idea. Have you ever held a cat by its tail Clyde?” she asked with a tilt of her head, “If you have you’ll notice that they start to spin trying to get you to let go, it throws them right off.”
Curling her long tail in front of her she looked down at Clyde, “My tail is six feet long, you can hold the end of it and follow me out of the woods safely. I am far enough away from you so you can be comfortable enough, but with you holding my tail, I won’t be able to do anything to you, I will be thrown off of my balance and my senses. So if you pulled on my tail in any way, I would stumble, maybe even fall, as long as you don’t let go, you have the upper hand.” She looked at him with a little bit of hope in her eyes that he would accept her help because she knew he did need it even if he didn’t want it. “What do you think Clyde, sound like a good idea to you?”
