The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Excuse me, Blondi." Sara chuckled. Sara remembered how Evelyn had changed between their first meeting and their meeting at the convenience store. She'd seen the girl grow in a couple of ways and while at the back of her mind she had the ut most respect for the girl, prodding her was so much more entertaining. "Someone's thinking much higher of themselves." Prod, prodityprod.
"Care to test that theory?" Sara pivoted on her heal and started slowly strolling in the opposite direction. Her tail flicking with every step as she closed her eyes tight and pulled her ears closed tight on either side of her head. Mean while she started calling out a count down. "20... 19... 18... 17..." If Evelyn was going to play around, Sara'd find out when she turned back around.

Sara removed a bandana from her pocket. It wasn't often that she used it, but after sneezing it did help and she rubbed her nose clean. Sara could hold a grudge, but now a days, it was easier to live in the now. Not the past. Sara's past was too much of a dark place to dwell. Too close to Sam's.
"I wasn't sneaking up on people. I was sneaking up on you." Sara said smirking. "Most of the people out here, I let pass. I just had some things that I had to think about. You'll be seeing me around the mansion more." Sara shrugged and crossed her arms. Suddenly bored with trying to figure out any differences from Evelyn's mutation. Rocking back from the balls of her feet, to her heals. "Besides..." Sara's smirk turned into that teasing grin. "I don't think you'd have a chance at stabbing me." She teased.
Huhh. The touch with the back of Sara's hand that was covered in fur wasn't enough to share Evelyn's echos with her. So Sara filed that bit of information away. However Sara's own experimentation continued. Her eyes wide she circled around Evelyn. "It sounds annoying."
Sara shopped in front of Evelyn. Her nostrils flared as she took in Every smell that she could. Evelyn didn't smell any different other than what she'd had to eat recently. Unlike some mutants whom it seemed that their chemical make up changed completely. Suddenly Sara held her breath. Her nose wrinkled. She turned her head to the inside of her arm just in time to catch the sneeze rather than splattering Evelyn in the face with it. "S'cuse me." She said suddenly sheepishly compared to her actions a moment ago.

An expression of remorse crossed over Sara's face before curiosity over took it. In a heart beat she was back on her feet. Her nostrils flared and her eyes dilated. Had anything else about Evelyn changed?
"When did your mutation change." Sara sniffed the air heavily around Evelyn. "Does it just work with touch? Where do the words come from? you or me? Or .... Ghosts? Are they ghosts?" Sara went to give Evelyn a quick poke with the back of her hand first. The one full of fur to see if that still worked too or if the voices had to be passed skin to skin. Then sniffed the air in front of Evelyn's face in a huff.

"Ok. Fine. I'll remember." Sara said in a matter of fact way that only hinted at the fact that she would find a way of getting even with Sam. She was enjoying the fact that she could grin without raising alarm.
Sam opened the door and walked inside before Sara, then held the door for her. Why was his tongue sticking out? She tilted her head at him as she passed him. Sticking her tongue out back. With a quick look around, Sara approached the counter.
The small tables were set so close together that if you were to walk anywhere but the main entry way to the counter, you'd have to turn yourself sideways. The black, purple, and grey color theme was on the inside of the shop as well with the signs behind the register advertising their specials, to the cheep napkins arranged at every table. Behind the counter stood a young man with red curly hair and freckles. His name tag read Nate. "Hey how can I help you today?" Nate said brightly. Not put off in one way by the fact that a large black cat mutant just wondered in. "I want you to know that the strawberry banana muffins are on special today." He said motioning to a sign at his left.
"Actually we'd like to speak with the baker." Sara asked.
Nate lost the smile from his face for a second or two. It was almost like he was a machine and someone hit the pause button. Gravity still took it's effects on him though and he started to lean. Catching his balance before he actually fell. The smile spread back on his face. "He'll be right out."
"OK That was new." Sara said to Sam just loud enough that he could here her.

Sara sat there on her tail for a moment. Maybe it was two and her eyes staid dilated. “New?” Sara eyes squeezed shut and she held her head. The stimulation she felt from the voices was gone but she still felt like her insides buzzed and she hadn’t decided if that was a side effect from whatever it was that Evelyn had just done to her, or the surprise.
“I was just playin’.” Sara opened her eyes and looked at Evelyn. There was still a little bit of surprise there, and as if to visually demonstrate it, the tip of Sara’s tail flicked back and forth like a bottle brush rattle snake. “What was that?”

The phone call to Johnny was short and to the point. Sara hadn’t explained her situation. Just that Roxy needed a pick up and Johnny didn’t question her. Maybe after knowing her this long, he no longer wanted to know. Nonetheless, he was a good friend.
As soon as Sara was done with her phone call she slipped the phone into a pocket and used both hands to hold onto Sam. One hand gripping the wrist of the other where a thick scar wrapped around it from when she’d been forced to wear a wrist band during the registration camps. To date, Sara’s healing factor wasn’t perfect. It healed. It wasn’t regenerative.
“What can I say. The muffins are still good.” Sara shrugged even though Sam couldn’t see her he could probably feel the motion. She then started quoting Shakespeare. “You know. A Rose by any other name, and all that Jazz…. Ok. Most roses and muffins wouldn’t make you grow tails or become a portable freezer but WATCH OUT!” Sara probably didn’t have to yell that when Sam and herself was nearly hit by a car on his blind side and She pulled her arms tighter from around his shoulders to around his neck. She didn’t have nearly the strength that she did usually, but that didn’t mean that she couldn’t put a death grip for a second or two on his neck. There was strong and then there was adrenalin pumped panic. The air temperature dropped and Sara left a thick frost across the hood of the car as Sam cleared it.
They became quiet for a minute and Sara readjusted her grip so she didn’t choke Sam. Her face buried in the back of Sam’s shoulder, clearly shaken. Not because she could have gotten hurt, but because she realized exactly how little control she had over Sam’s mutation.
”So many bad smells.”
The comment pulled Sara back to the task at hand. “Remember this next time you decide to wear smelly Gym socks to spare in.”
”This it?”
Sara pushed her head away from Sam’s shoulder so that she could see the building. It was built of red brick. The front of the shop was decorated with and awning and little purple and grey shingles. Black and striped curtains decorated the windows around the blinds. The muffin shop, it’s self, looked like it might have been pulled directly from a Tim Burtain film and yet it looked right at home with the businesses that were around it that included A Pizza Parlor, A laundry mat and a book store. “Yup, That’s it.” Sara said sliding down from Sam’s back but still holding him till her feet found their balance.

Sara's hand was aimed for Evelyn's shoulder, but when the other girl spun with her hand raised, Sara caught her by the wrist. Her claws resting against Evelyn's smooth skin as she tried to be careful not to let them break through it.
She was about to say something smart, but Sara ended up sucking in air. Her grip on Evelyn's arm suddenly tightened. Eyes wide and dilated with the sudden onslaught of adrenalin that hit her blood stream from the surprise. Then her face pinched and her eyes closed tight.
She'd clap her hands over her ears, but that didn't occure to her to do at first. Instead all sorts of voices flooded her head. There were comments on her touch. One counted how many steps Evelyn had taken from the mansion. 2,476 to be exact... no 2,476 in a half. Something about putting a squirrel into a coma. Sara wasn't a squirrel.
Sara went to pull her arm away but for some reason her hand wasn't fully operational yet. She ended up pulling Evelyn closer. Still the voices continued. The stars, the constellations, The exact shades of Sara's fur, the poking sensation from Sara's claws. The number of lights that shown from the mansion. There was more but Sara couldn't focus on them.
After what seemed like an eternity, but was really only a few seconds, Sara shoved Evelyn away from her. She fell on her own tail side, hands clapping over her ears but for what Sara wasn't sure for.

Sara still wore the grin on her face. She wasn't even trying to hide her teeth with closed lips right now like she normally did. Why should she?
Despite the fact that Sara and Evelyn seemed to get along with each other now, Sara didn't really feel the need to hide her teeth around her. Not because she was being aggressive, but maybe it was because the girl had already seen Sara at her game. So there was nothing to hide.
Sara edged her way around another tree. Pausing at the edge. If Evelyn had turned around she'd barely make out the side of Sara's ducking head. Then she stalked up at Evelyn's back. Ducking right or left depending on witch direction she thought the other girl's head was about to turn till she was so close she had to hold her breath, for fear it might alert the other girl to her presence.
"Anyone there?"
"Only us." Sara replied, nearly in Evelyn's ear. She grabbed for the girl's shoulder to try to add to the surprise and spin her around.
Evelyn paused and Sara froze for a second. She’d heard the dry twig snap under her foot and if she really was going to play with Evelyn like this, the little tell tale noises like that just wouldn’t do. Besides. It had been so long since Sara had a real hunt would it be so bad to practice and have a little fun? Even if it was at Evelyn’s expense.
She lowered herself from the branch, landing lightly on the forest floor. When she landed her feet didn’t make a sound, but the tree above her waivered from the sudden lack of her weight. She crouched from the landing, then under the cover of the night, sprinted around Evelyn’s backside. Trying to make it around the next set of trees before the girl could turn around.

Slowly, Sara pulled her legs up so that the balls of her feet rest on the thick branches bark. Her hands pushed down too so that for a moment she truly did resemble her feline counter parts in their natural habitat… Except real mountain lions don’t put up with cloths. There will be no naked WereCats wondering the streets thank you very much.
Sara’s nostrils flared when the wind changed direction. It took her a moment to recognize the other mutant’s smell. Blondie. Or rather Evelyn. Sara’s mind rattled off. Her tail twitched. Sara thought about ignoring the girl, but to be honest, Sara had spent way too much time on her own. What harm would a little bit of fun do. Right?
A grin pulled at the sides of Sara’s face as she went from resting on all fours, to crouching with her tail swaying here and there for balance. Evelyn passed where she’d been purched and Sara moved carefully around the trunk of the tree to another, lower branch keeping the tree between the two of them. The only sound she made was the crunch of a dead twig.

Ok. So Sara probably should have been spending more time at the mansion now that she was most definitely going to become a team member. She also probably should have been trying to make a good impression on the mansion’s inhabitants. The problem was, she still didn’t care. Or at least that was what she told herself.
She needed time alone, and for some reason instead of wandering the countryside around one of her properties, she chose to hand out in the woods near the mansion. Sitting in one of her favorite spots. A thick branch that was a good twenty feet off of the ground and her legs were dangling from either side of the trunk for balance as she leaned her elbows against the bark. Her eyes tilted to the ground where, even though her eyes could see the dirt and the grass, she wasn’t really staring at anything in particular. She could just be alone with her thoughts. Or at least she thought that she could
Her head and shoulders shifted, suddenly much more alert with her ears flicking back and forth to pick up whatever sounds that she could. Someone was coming.
Well that seemed to settle it. Sara and Sam now had a destination. "Of course. I bought them from Mad Miller Muffins. It's a mutant friendly muffin shop. The main baker calls himself the Muffin Man." Sara Sighed. "I hope you're wrong. I like that shop." But frankly, Everything in Sara's gut told Sara that now it was the only lead that they had.
Sam knelt implying that he'd carry her and Sara sighed, glancing at Roxy first. She'd first brought the dog with her to be her extra eyes and ears, but now it seemed that she wasn't needed. "I did bring the van... But you're faster. I'll call Johnny and see if he can pick her up for me. I'd rather that she wasn't left alone where a furry monster was just sighted."
She pulled out her cell phone and thumbed in Johnny's number as her other hand pushed down on Sam's shoulder. Using his bent knee as a step she climbed on Sam easily enough. "Alright. Well. Um... Giddy up?"
Sara wasn't impressed by what Sam had to say about before he got furry and her arms staid crossed... But she also knew that he was right. "Warm. Got it." Sara said doing her best not to look like she was pouting. It wasn't like she'd been nothing when she was her old self.
Sara made a face at the mention of canned goods. She'd eaten canned goods in the past but she didn't care much for them.preservatives tasted funny. "I thought the muffins would be a treat compared to that stuff." Sara said with a shrug. "I did take two for myself. They were from a bakery. Not the mall." She admitted.
"Before, it just ran it's course. After a time, we switched back to normal."
Roxy had tugged harder than either of Sara's furry friends had realized when Sam let go of the stick and her butt landed on the ground with a thump, but she had her stick, so her tail kept thumping the dirt. Obviously not caring one bit after the initial surprise. Between Sara, herself, and other inhabitants at the mansion, she'd been used to such things happening.
"I don't know who did it before." Sara replied. Her arms crossed and her hips tilted. Sam was starting to act protective again, and she wasn't sure what she thought of it yet. Especially when he mentioned her going ice age on a city block. "Oh come on. That's not going to happen." Sam was, and maybe he might have been when he was younger but really? Sara? She could barely make snow slippers around her feet.
"The mutant who switched bodies with me before, was Meld. She didn't know anything about who'd done it back then either. Just that we weren't the only ones who'd been effected. Though I can't recall names." In other words, looking to the past wasn't going to tell them that much. "No. What caused this switch must have been something that we were both exposed to in the last few days, witch can't be much. You're still dead."
