The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Maya was there. And then she wasn't and Sara's hand was left grasping for the air. Her feet skit to a stop on the floor and turning sideways she nearly rammed the wall of the hall with her shoulder. Clawed feet finally finding their grip on the rug without ripping it apart.
"You are fast."
"Not bad yourself." Sara straightened herself back pedaling a couple of steps back to her door. Roxy, her dog, barked from where Sara had left her standing. She thought it was play time, and it was, but so she didn't have to worry about her, Sara carefully shut the dog inside her room. She'd run Roxy later to try to make up for it. Mean while the mirror mutant appeared in the mirror down the hall and Sara chose to follow at a light jog. Hesitating at the second mirror before she moved on down the hall way. "Marko..." Sara called out.
Her nostrils flared as she continued down the hall ways. Tail twitching and ears flicking back and forth. Sara was suddenly much more aware of all of the different mirrors inside the mansion. "Maaaaarrrrkoooooo...."
Sara picked up on the subtle tenseness to Maya's. Her feline side picking up on the other girl's body language more than her human side. Maya took a step backwards out of Sara's door way and Sara took another deep breath. Her tail flicked again similarly to the way a house cat's tail moved just before they pounced on a toy. The chase was on.
"You're on."
With no more warning, Sara was clearing the distance between them. Roxy barked behind her in surprise. One hand out stretched for the other girl.

blowing on the rip of her coffee cup, Sara headed back outside the muffin shop. coffee held in one hand and her communicator held in the other. She took a deep sniff of her cup, then gingerly sipped from the cups rim. Licking the whipped cream first. Wiping the extra cream away from her upper lip with the back of her sleeve. "Mmm..."
It took Sara a moment to realize that her communicator was activated. another few seconds of staring at it to remember she now needed to put the thing in her ear to hear it and not hold it in front of her face like she had before. Mentally kicking herself as she adjusted it. Hearing Sam say something about bad muffins before she quite had the volume right for her new ears.
“Muffin Man! How did Mister kitty get those muffins?”
”No idea.”
Sara stood quietly still sipping her coffee but she no longer really tasted it as she continued to listen. Feeling a bit of anxiety from the odd way the voices sounded distant and the scuffing and banging closer to the Sam's communicator. Then there was that song.
“You see. We don’t know! Oh well! Guess I’m gonna have to kill you though ..."
Sara was in motion again. Shoving her way into the muffin shop yet again. Not noticing that the glass from the door frosted over at her touch. Without a word, Sara was headed around the counter. Nate went to step in her way and after a third sip from her coffee cup, She put a hand up. "You really want to test this?" Sara asked him as the temperature in the room dropped. Nate started to get that distant look in his eyes again and Sara guessed that he was psychically trying to contact someone again. "Oh hell with it." She said picking up a stapler that was next to his register and smacked it across Nate's temple. Nate collapsed against the counter, then in front of the door that lead to the back.
Jerking on the handle of the door, she found it... Locked. "Ok. What would Sam do." Sara mumbled to herself over and over again. She raised her bare foot and slammed it against the door near the lock. The temp dropping faster with her frustration but despite her anger and stress, the door didn't even have a mark.
The coffee was left on the counter and she breathed deep. Fast but deep feeling helpless without her normal strength. If she still had fur, that door would have been turned to splinters seconds ago. Her hand raised towards the door and her fingers flexed as she concentrated on it. Her out stretched hand made a fist. Frost formed across the door's surface and simultaneously through any crack and crevice in the wood. Her fist's fingers suddenly expanded out as far as her hand would allow and as she did so, the ice throughout the door expanded. Leaving nothing but splinters on a hinge. Her other hand shop forward and with the motion, the ice in the door obeyed. Not coming away from the door frame nice and neatly, but instead blasting it's self apart in a flurry of snow and crumbled door.

Sara's smirk spread wider across her face. Her tail gave a twitch behind her feet. This was going to be a whole lot of fun.Sara's chin raised as she took in a breath. Breathing Maya's scent in with it. "All of the booze..." Sam would probably replace them quickly. "For a week."

Evelyn avoided loosing her sai to Sara. Pitty but Sara noted in her own mind how the other girl had obviously practiced. Sara herself, was probably rusty with her own weapons.
Instead of attacking again, Evelyn scrambled backwards. Sara raising a protective arm in front of her face when Blondi splashed in her direction. Shielding her face and more importantly, her eyes.
Nonetheless, Evelyn was putting some distance between the two of them and Sara smirked. She could let Evelyn get out of the pool.... OR...
Sara glanced quickly down to make sure Evelyn was still in the shallow end of the pool. In the deep end and doing this would put the two of them in danger's way. It wasn't that Sara didn't like water. It was mostly that she couldn't swim so the shallow end of the pool presented no real threat. So with her body already crouched low, her tail gave a twitch as a single warning before she leapt. Aiming to land on top of (Or next to) Evelyn. Not intending to push her down but to wrap her arms around her and use the fur on her arms to shield herself from Evelyn's skin.

Sara pulled open the top drawer to her dresser. The remaining stack of folded cloths was set inside. Satisfied with her work at organizing her things so far.
"That sounds like a challenge to me."
The corner of Sara's mouth curved into a smirk. Roxy had padded back over to her and poked her leg with her nose looking for a scratch behind the ears. Sara's competitive side showing on her face when she looked up on Mirror, again.
"Will there be rules?" Sara shifted her weight to stand with her arms crossed and her hips slanted.

There was Evelyn, and there was the sai. Sara had herself low so when the sai came up for her legs, she had to jerk up to keep from having it go across her upper arm. Her bent knee in the way and Sara turned the leg, avoiding a big injury. Evelyn's sai hooked her leg and Sara stumbled. Nearly pulling her into the water.
Sara's first instinct to counter Evelyn was to grab for her arm with the sai. Bad idea and the memory of what had just rushed through her head mad her change tactics at the last second. Swiping at Evelyn's sai and intending to twist it out of her hand.
Sara smirked at Maya's reaction to how she finally became a part of the team After all. Sam had been trying to get Sara to join for years. "Punching had something to do with it." Sara shrugged. "I broke his big scream TV so Ehh." Sara wasn't vindictive. Not vindictive at all.
"So... what's your thing? Mutation-wise, I walk through mirrors. On the team, I'm an archer, and the occasional getaway vehicle. How about you?"
Sara had let go of Maya's hand. Careful to keep her fingers straight and not risk catching her claws on the other girl's hand. "Well... Obviously I'm a cat." Sara motioned to herselfwith a wave of her hand indicating the tip of her nose down to the claws on her feline feet. "My mutation gives me an accelerated healing factor and I'm the best tracker that you're ever going to meet."
Sara watched from the outside of the shop as the muffin man came out from the back. Sam and himself had exchanged some words that she couldn't make out. Ok. This not hearing everything was getting on her nerves. The two of them had disappeared into the back and she was left standing there staring through the window from the outside.
OK. Right. What was she supposed to do while she waited? What did normal people do? The one thing that her nose had picked up on, was the smell of coffee from the cafe next store. The sign on the door said no shoes no shirt no service and well. she had one of those so she went in. No one in charge looked at her feet, so it didn't take long before she found herself with a $6.50 hot steaming cup of whipped cream, caramel, chocolate and awesome. ok. Now to wait for Sam. Absentmindedly, Sara removed her communicator and her cell phone from her pocket to play with the volume.
The girl was smart. She had a decent place that she'd backed herself into and with the smell of the chlorine, Sara's nose stung a little. However smell wasn't the only sense that Sara had the ability to use in finding something, or in this case, someone. Her ears twitched this way and that. She could hear Evelyn's breaths and if Sara held her own air in her lungs for a moment, she could pick up on Evelyn's heart beat as well.
Carefully Sara lowered herself to the ground. Her right hand up defensively as she inched her way closer to the edge of the pool. Her shadow already over the edge of the pool and on the pools bottom, before she was over the edge. Sara froze for a moment. Only a moment before she was seen over the side of the pool, crouched. "Boo!" Sara yelled at Evelyn as she tried to grab her clothing to haul her out.

Roxy pushed her nose at Mirror. The dog's tail swishing in greeting and Sara well. Sara hung back for a few seconds.
"... whoa."
"I know." Sara said dryly. Sara shrugged off Mirror's initial reaction as she finished tucking a pair of pants into the middle drawer of her dresser. The apology went a long way with Sara and she decided not to make something of it.
"I hear you're the new member on the X team. Came by to say hi. My name's Maya. Maya Morris. Most people call me Mirror."
"Sara." Sara said as a form of returning the introduction. She pushed the dresser drawer closed then covered the distance between them to accept Maya's hand. "Yeah. I lost a bet with Sam a few months ago. So now I'm a member."
To say that Sara had trust issues was an under statement. For years she had avoided becoming affiliated with any of the mutant factions in New York but now, it looked as though she'd finally been suckered into one. Never make a bet with a dead man.
She was still adjusting to the idea of being on the team. To living here and not all of her stuff have been moved out of her apartment yet. In fact she wasn't sure that she wanted to completely move out of it at all. Moving in general was a scary thought.
For the most part, the x-mansion's rooms were already furnished so Sara had only brought a few boxes over, that she'd carefully piled in the far corner of the room, next to her closet. a dufle bag sat at her drawing desk with a few of her sketch books left open on top. Sara herself, was wearing a sleeveless top with some grey worm up pants that she'd cut a careful hole in the back side up to allow her tail to comfortable sway free.
She was just starting to make her room more like her own by folding her cloths and sorting them into the dresser when there was a knock at the door. Roxy, her German Shepard barked twice padding closer to the door to great the new comer."It's open." Sara called out. "Come on in."
Sara couldn't hear any music. However, she could hear Sam humming. What for? Well she had no clue. She didn't even know the song.
Sara's weight shifted when Sam moved. He wanted her to leave, but she hesitated. They were both here because of her and her eyes, still amber in color, shot up to his. Leaving felt wrong, but because of her own situation with Sam's abilities, staying was obviously not the best of ideas either. "You could have taught me." She said obstinately. Then Sighed. For her, that probably wouldn't of been enough for a potentially bad situation.
She'd done this. She didn't know that buying Sam and herself some baked goods would put them in this situation but it had and it was because of her. Here Sam was willing to clean up her mess. "Stay in touch." She whispered tapping her phone in her pocket with her index finger.
Sara then left. She wouldn't go far. Maybe just window shop across the street where she could still see Sam through the windows of the muffin house.

Sara's clawed feet tore up the ground as she ran. Evelyn had a head start and with out that, this wouldn't be nearly as much fun as it was starting to be. It ha been a long time since Sara had tracked anything or anyone down on purpose and it was nice to unleash that side of her brain now and then.
Sara hit the patch of ground where she'd left Evelyn standing. She fell on into a run that included her arms too. Taking long strides as she staid low to the ground. Her amber eyes flicking between the area in front of her. Every now and then she veered off of the path. Not following exactly where Evelyn had gone, but where her scent had already drifted to thanks to the light wind.
The sound and smell of the water pulled Sara's attention away from the land. OK. So Sara might have forgotten about the mansion having a pool. It wasn't like she swam regularly... or at all. Still, Evelyn's smell lead her straight to the pool. It made sense. and when it came to providing cover, well... it did. Sara hopped onto of the fence that surrounded the pool not making her landing very stealthy as the metal bars donged and vibrated under her feet. But stealth wasn't that important. Evelyn knew she was coming. Her nostrils flaring then wrinkling. Ache pools always stank.
Sara hopped down to the cement walk way surrounding the pool, making her feet steps silent again. Evelyn's smell lead right to the side of the pool and Sara's shadow was over the water, cast there by the building lights. She didn't lean out to out over the water to peer over the edge, but rather walked past. If Evelyn was laying in ambush, simply peeking over the pools edge would make things entirely too easy for Blondi.

Yup. thinking highly of herself. Ok. So Sara wasn't giving her the longest of time to run. Not when Sara was the experienced tracker that she was. Sara started pausing more between her numbers. leaving five seconds between 11 and 10. Evelyn had guts, but did she have the mind to really back her up? still Sara called out the numbers, strolling in the opposite direction. "5..... 4..... 3...."
Sara skipped a few steps further down the path still headed away from Evelyn. One eye cracked open just enough to avoid tripping on the tree roots. Not paying Evelyn any mind till the time was right. "3..... 2 and 3/4ths.... " Sara taunted adding fractions. "2 and a half...... 2 and 3/16ths...." Sara stopped. She paused more for being dramatic than for giving Evelyn extra time... "1!" The last number was yelled louder than the others. Sara spun and headed first for where she'd left Evelyn. She'd pick up her scent there, and play it by ear from there. "Ready or not. Here I come."
