The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Wow." Fade said, her mouth opened wide as Dia finished. Hoping that she wasn't being rude, she quickly shut it. "That's alot of power, must be pretty cool to be able to do that." She said, sitting on her legs.
"Well, I can turn invisible. I can also turn things that I am in contact with invisible. Also, I have claws on my fingernails and toenails that go into walls, without damaging them, so don't worry, so I can climb on walls. It's pretty fun, I'm actually a better fighter while I'm on a wall because I've trained myself to do like back handsprings on the ceiling and cartwheels and all this cool stuff. What about you?" She asked, stopping the conversation about herself
"What about you? How old are you?" Fade asked, finally realizing that she only had one shoe on and the other foot was bare. She began to untie her shoe and she put the other sock in the drawer with the first sock.
"Sure you can. I'm 16, I think. Somewhere around there. I dunno, let me see." She began muttering softly and only some words could be made out: "last time...caught...14...while ago...year...2...16...16 sumtin. Yup, I believe 16." She said, looking up after doing the "math" if you can even call it that
"Pretty much the same story: used to have a family, that was taken, got foster parents, got my power, my foster parents got scared and I had to run away. I lived off the streets until I came here." She shrugged, she moved back over to her bed and sat down, not wishing to stand much longer.
Fade cocked an eyebrow but shrugged it off. "So...um...where're you from?" She asked, trying to start a conversation with the all famous "Where are you from?" Well, at least it wasn't "Nice weather".
"No, it's cool, I get startled easily. Seriously, it's no big deal." She tried to move infront of Dia's direct line of vision, then again, Fade might be being rude. She rarely ever apologized and when she did, it was rarely truthful, but that was her old life, she actually apologized sincerely just the other day when she accidently went into the War Room where she was not allowed to go into, whoops.
Fade looked down at the ground, expecting to find a beetle that the girl was looking at. "Whatcha looking at?" She asked, moving her head to the side, maybe it was a trick of the light and only the other girl could see it.
Fade shot up in an a sitting position as the other girl entered the room. A sudden jolt went down her spine and she turned invisible, for only a second, it's a startled reaction that she goes through. When she regained her breath, she looked over at Dia. "You scared me!" She said, grabbing her chestand sighing in relief. "And don't worry, you're not disturbing anything, I was just...uh...being goofy." Fade got up and moved over to the unfamiliar girl. "I'm Jenny, by the way, but I typically go by Fade, just 'cause it sounds more imaginative. So who are you?" She asked, moving her red hair from her currently green eyes.
Fade had picked out her room in the North wing, just like Cassiel suggested. It was not decorated, well, that's pretty much self-explanitory why not, but it was the best room Fade had ever been in, and the first she could remember in such a good way. "Welcome to your new life, complete with a bed!" She exclaimed to herself like she was in a game show. "Let's see what's in drawer number 1!" She ran over to the dresser and opened it. "Absolutely nothing! But now..." Fade took off her Converse and one of her socks and tossed it in the drawer. "A SOCK!" Pride welled up insode of her and she let out a quick "Wee!" before falling on her new bed, making sure she took up every inch of the comfy material she had longed for for so long. Finally, it was her's.
As soon as the subject on the baby had surface, Fade was surged with enthusiasm. "I can't wait! Do you know if it's a girl or boy?" She asked as she scooted forward in her seat. Tricity had been pregnant for a while but Fade just couldn't wait until there was a baby around tha mansion. When Tricity then turned the questions on the other two, her cheeks turned a small tint more red.
"Yup, we just, well, as Raph said, made it official today, but our relationship had surfaced much earlier than today." She stated with a smile as she rubbed her thumb on his hand, replying to his reassuring light squeezes. Life was good, she had Raph in it and she was an X-Man. Fade finally belonged somewhere and felt as though she belonged there, which was quite different for a girl that didn't belong anywhere.
"I just hope that stupid girl didn't ruin my chances by making me look like I'm not suitible for being an X-Man, but I'm sure she didn't, Tricity can prolly tell that the girl's a joke." She shrugged, trying to extinguish all thoughts of her not becoming an X-Man.
She kept silent as Tricity entered and spoke. After Tricity had finished, she nodded and replied; "Yeah, that'd be great. Thanks, I didn't think we'd get that high yet, take it slow. I want to help in missions. It's be a great way for me to give back to this school since you have given me so much."
"She's just so-Gah!" The next series of noises can't even be assigned a word because she twisted her fingers and made frustrated noises. However, I guess some letters could be used to describe how she sounded: "Gahragragareehhheeagear! and just Gah!" She ended before allowing her body to completely relax as she slunk into a seat.
After taking a deep breath, she sat up and sighed "Better, that was all I needed to do, act like it was her between my fingers as I crushed them together...too bad it wasn't." She grumbled before leaning back in her seat as she waited for Tricity so they could become X-Men.
Nothing please Fade more at that moment then to be allowed into Tricity's room with Raph as Tricity turned to talk to Deathstar, obviously not letting her in. Deathstar wasn't going to be an X-Man, at least not yet. And even though Fade couldn't see her face, she felt as though that was her payback and felt like she had won the arguement. However, after she thought that, she immediately reconsidered her thoughts and stayed calm, showing no feelings of superiority, that wasn't the way she acted.
She turned to Raph and looked into his eyes. "I'm so glad you're always there when that annoying chic comes by, I don't know what I'd do withoutcha." A small chuckle escaped her lips and she hugged him, feeling like she just wanted to hug the one person that could control her anger better than she could, especially since her anger didn't get out much and when it did, it was hazardous.
Fade clenched her fists but when Raph again came to her rescue, she breathed out calmly. His arm seemed to take off alot of weight, metally, by putting alot of physical weight on, but she did not mind, he was taking care of her, that was all she needed. As he spoke of their wants, she nodded in agreement. When he whispered 'control' in her ear, she closed her eyes, clenched her teeth one last time, and when she opened her eyes again, she was under control. The only way to make the situation worse was to let it get to her, so she shut out the annoying girl, all until she spoke again.
As the other girl said that she too was interested in becoming an X-Man, she nearly burst out laughing, but she merely let out a small noise accompanied by a smile to show she thought it was a joke. As soon as she made the noise, she frowned and silently said "My bad, continue." Hoping that Tricity wouldn't be upset by her half-supressed laugh.
