The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Fade had been sitting around in her room. Or so any kind of technology that logs what time she used her key in the door would assume. She had been out, phasing through walls, walking through other rooms just for peeks. Maybe someone was using their power in their room and hiding it. Most people were just watching television or taking a shower or still sleeping. Fade's ways of life had been becoming less and less X-Men-like, but she still had a good heart, even if she did unorthodox actions. Sauntering through everyone's room did not seem like something Shawn or Sam would do.
Speaking of which, when she left one of the rooms, she entered her hallway and saw Shin at her door, knocking. Slowly, she crept over to her wall and phased through, of course, she had been invisible this entire time or it would have been weird for a redhead to walk into all the hotel rooms. It wasn't that she didn't want Shin to know that she really was not in her room, it was just that she did not want to explain where she had been since she did not come up with any leads.
Before she opened the door, she took off her shoes and kicked them under the bed like she usually did and she threw off her light jacket and draped it over her bed. "Yeah, coming," she said, putting her hand on the door. Quickly, she jerked her hand down and opened it. "Hey, come on inside," she said, knowing that what they would be talking about wouldn't necessarily be discussed in the hallway. What if there was another little invisible phaser who could eavesdrop on their conversation? Then that power didn't seem too fair, did it? Hypocritical Fade.
While Streak spoke, Fade just listened intently, watching the faces on everyone around her. When she was an X-Man before, she had gone on quite a few missions and been in quite a few fights. The Whitmore Attack was the first one and at the sign of trouble, her X-boyfriend ((hehe)) had saved her. Then at KP, she had acted a little foolish, yes, but it was tough to take a girl off the streets and put her in good shoes, shoes that will get in trouble if she does something stupid and impulsive. Fighting the big kitty was not exactly her idea of a fair battle, but then again, she had enough yells from Ghost and Sam to make her stop.
This time, Shawn trusted her and even put her in charge. Who would trust Fade? Maybe it was just from her background experience with the X-Men but it always seemed odd that she was the least educated out of anyone, she did not even finish elementary school but she was placed in charge of a team. Shin would be a good team mate, at least she hoped. Honestly, she did not know much about this guy, what was his power even? Maybe she did know that and she was just being slow today. Anyways, she stood back and listened to the questions and the remarks on how much work it will be.
Of course, for a mutant with physical abilities, like manipulators and such, it would be harder to get information out by using their power. Fade, on the other hand, had the perfect reconnaissance ability, everyone can talk freely when they think no one is around and she could eavesdrop on some good information. "If we have no leads, I can spy on some people, try to find a lead without a direct source," she offered, although she would have probably done it without permission. She could even use her phasing power in public, like as an accident and then flee the scene to find if anyone will approach her to help. But if they approached her to take her away, she'd just simply fade. Though that was much more risky.
Morning had crept up too quickly and Fade was soon awakened by a rude ray of sunlight. She tried to roll over but forgot she was with Venus and simply rolled into a dead end. Yawning, she got out of bed to trail herself into the bathroom. It was the only way she could get started on her day, although most people were like that... After rinsing her face off with water, she walked into the kitchen to grab something to drink. There was a 7up and a beer. Though she reached for the beer, she figured it was too early to drink and just grabbed the 7up. It wasn't noon yet, although she would have it at noon. It was 5 somewhere, right?
She simply phased through the porch door to get a fresh breath of air and had to remind herself that she was not exactly modest and needed to turn invisible. As she stood outside, she heard a few noises from Venus, he must be up and curious where his little splash of color went. Finally, she went back inside and walked past him, still invisible. "Morning there," she said with a small huff of laughter. There was just a floating 7up over the giant red man, she did not much feel like turning that invisible too at the moment, she was still trying to wake up and figure out if she had a hang over or not.
Everyone had been walking in and instead of just opening the door like a normal human, Fade glanced around her to ensure no one was looking and simply phased through the door. Of course, it may have been less lazy of her to open it and walk in, but she enjoyed using her power at the most inopportune moment, so she could not resist. She found everyone inside waiting and she leaned up against the wall nearest to Streak and Jewel, she knew those two better than Shin and Kasumi, plus, Streak was very good looking, and a good guy, which made it easier for her since the past couple of nights, she had a few flirtatious run ins with the wrong kind.
Damn, why couldn't she be the full blown good kind like everyone else? Everyone had their flaws though. "I'm here, so continue," she simply said. Saying anything else would be unnecessary and now that she was in a different country and not yet going on the mission, she could be lazy in her word choice as well.
((sorry it is short, I can't really think of what else to say until she learns the details of the mission))
There was rarely an occassion when a man would still continue with her while she was invisible, this one was different, he was very different. Were his brothers the same way? It did not matter, this one had caught her attention. Typically, when she turned invisible, that was cheating on her behalf, but apparently that was not to the red one. He turned around and found her lips, quite the good feeler he was, most people could not hit her lips full on when she became invisible, they would his her ear or neck and she'd just disappear into the shadows, unmotivated to do anything else.
She pulled him in close and continued to kiss him back, still intrigued at how he could have found her lips. Of course, his fingers had trailed their way elsewhere, to her legs, which was no problem, but now this seemed a little too much for the hot tub so she phased through the back she was leaning up upon and grabbed his hand, pulling him away from the hot tub. Just to inform him that she did not mean to end this, she kissed him again and then turned visible for his eyes to behold.
There, dripping wet, next to the hot tub, she tried to get him to go inside. The gentle breeze from outside got her a little cold and she shivered, but kept tugging at his hand. It was stupid to tug harder since he was so much stronger but she doubted he would stand his ground.
"At least you were a guy when you went to bed and a guy when you woke up! Hell, I'm supposed to be a girl!" she said, slightly panicking. What the hell had happened to her? What the hell had happened to them? She ran her fingers through her hair, or at least tried to. She had little hair, little stubs on her head. What had happened to her luxorious red hair? That slightly wavy hair of hers that she would throw up in a bun when she was stressed. Why was this happening to her? Oh why?
He healed himself. So he was a healer? Or maybe he had become a healer? What exactly was he before? "So since you claim that's not your body, and I swear this isn't mine, what the hell happened to us? Is this some kind of dream that we both got pulled into? Do I know you from somewhere? My girl name is Fade, I guess now I'm someone called Seizure, or something like that." If only she could turn invisible and hide from the world until she was returned to her natural self, now that was a thought...
Aura's feelings toward Fade were quite mixed, it was hard enough to figure out what a man felt towards her, it was even more complex to decipher what a female felt towards her. Females had a different way with dealing with everything. First off, well, there was really no first off. She was good looking, she looked innocent, even though Fade had already figured that she was quite far from innocent. It was the slight tingle in her voice that told Fade that even though she had done evil, she was unaware that it was evil. The redhead was still trying to figure out how to react with that.
When Fade lived on the street, stealing was not bad, it was the only way to survive. Had she been brought up with a normal family, maybe even with her real family, maybe things would have turned out differently. Hell, her cousins, Amp and Vibe had turned out evil, or by society's standards, they were evil, were they really? They had just been brought up different. Although Fade loved the Mansion and those that lived there, most Mansion people had never lived the tough life that Fade and Aura had lived, Jenny might be one of the few Mansionites who could understand this 'evil' side of other mutants.
"I have been arrested, many times, but because of my phasing and invisibility, it is hard to keep me in a cell long enough to be processed, or even keep me in a cop car for that matter, or hand cuffs." Her mind told her she had made a sexual joke, but she refrained from laughing...cuffs. "Well, Aura is a beautiful name." Wow, Fade had a real tendency to walk on the wild side.
He was teasing, that was not unexpected. Still, she did not expect him to strip off his boxers, now that was a mighty brave move, maybe not on his behalf because she got the feeling that he was used to this kind of stuff. Fade, on the other hand, was not used to being picked up at a bar. Still, it was a little walk on the wild side, something she had not done recently so it wouldn't hurt to be her old venturous self yet again. Although, even her old self didn't hook up with people, Raph had really brought her out of her shell, and then tucked her back up into it when he disappeared.
His lips were approaching her quickly and she debated phasing through them, at first, she did, but the minute his lips hit where her's would be, she turned solid again and kissed his red lips quite softly. Biting her lip a little, she made a few movements with her hands before pulling her bra out of the water with her right hand and her lace panties with her left hand. After all, now they had to dry. Wet undergarments were no fun. Why did she even get them in the hot tub in the first place?
Being a little bit hard to get, she let go of her bottom lip and smirked. With that, she disappeared. It was a sly move, yes, but now she could do anything she wanted and she got to cheat. She moved over to the other side of him. Slowly, she slid her hands down his neck and to his shoulders, massaging him a little bit. "So, I never heard anything said about cheating," she remarked before kissing his collar bone. Now cheating, that was a fun little sin.
He lifted up her jaw and she paused. Sure he was talking about things that did not really require or even request a kiss, but the way he looked down on her, it was tempting. Still, she held her ground, slightly laughing when he mentioned how long he could keep her hostage. Really? There was nobody that could keep her hostage now that she had developed her phasing powers even more. Now that she could fully walk through walls and even people, it was just hard to keep such a girl locked up unless she wanted to be.
A hot tub? Now that, was a thought. One side of her brain told her she didn't have a swim suit but the other side of her brain reminded her that she didn't have one. After all, she never did learn how to swim so why would she even own a swim suit. Well, there was always skinny dipping, but maybe not at the moment. She had been sobering up for quite a while and the thought crossed her mind, which of course, she took advantage of it, so she moved over to the fridge and grabbed a beer, showing her independence by doing what ever crossed her mind. She popped it open, enjoying the sound of it fizzing for just a moment before taking a sip.
After the first initial drink, she began to make her way out to the hot tub. On the journey, she made a little trail, a bit teasingly, yes, but she had been out of service for quite some time. First, she took off her shoes and kept walking before stripping off her socks, shirt and pants, leaving only her bra and panties. In the moment, she did not think about how pale her body looked, especially compared to her red hair and Venus's red...well, skin. When she made it out to the hot tub, she glanced at the buttons, realized she would look like an idiot for not knowing how to work them and moved on. Taking another sip, she slid into the warm water. It was not steaming hot because it had not been on but she did not mind, it was a hot tub never-the-less to her.
"You coming?"
((hope you don't mind that I mentioned beer in the fridge))
Hey, Creia, you can still make one, I wanna see what you come up with, really. But Matty, I went ahead and made this for you. Let me know if you want any changes made:
This Leonard character sure knew how to shake a hand too hard. Just to ease up a little bit on the tension, Fade phased her hand through just slightly and brought it down to her side, rubbing it just a little bit. It was not enough to make him feel bad but it was enough to make her feel better. He smelled good, in fact, now that she had stood in front of him for a minute or two, he smelled too good. It was overwhelming, but then again, Fade was used to the smell of trash cans so who really cared?
The bills? How many bills would he get? "I'd hate for you to spend too much money on me. I mean, can I chip in at all?" It was an odd question because really she did not have a job other than being an X-Man, but she had saved up quite a bit from her past scandals. Her old employee made sure she was payed graciously. However, that was not something a known X-Man should tell a known member of the Order. Still, she took his arm and entered, glad to be away from that smell coming from Leonard, although it did linger in the doorway, quite pleasantly because it was not too much, it was just right.
((Yes, I am here, sorry for the delay. As Shawn mentioned, I am having some problems but I can still post))
First class. First class. First class. First class. Every time Fade said the word over in her head, it sounded even better. It was not her first time flying, but the last time she flew, she just turned invisible and hid in the baggage compartment, not very cozy. This time she had a huge chair with this nifty magazine full of things you could purchase and these odd inventions. It wasn't like she could read the magazine or any descriptions of the stuff she was looking at but there were plenty of pictures for her to follow along with.
When they landed, which she did not even look up, she was used to just landing without expecting it, so it did not even phase her. Shawn got out (Sam had been making it a point to use everyone's real name, but Fade hated the name Jenny, so she would try to correct any one who called her that) and Shin, Jewel...uh...Lily, and Kasumi got out, followed by the redhead invisible illiterate. Each were given a pill of some kind, something to make them speak another language. It was so odd, these different... well... things that the X-Men could provide to make it so that they can blend in anywhere.
She took it and went into the hotel, following Shawn all the way. Oddly enough, she just wanted to blabber out any language just for the hell of it. What's that? Fade can't speak French? C'est français, n'est-ce pas? 我可以说比你更好的中国东方食品. И теперь я говорю Русский, спасибо. They were simple pleasures but she was enjoying it. Had she spoken outloud though, it would be apparent that she shouldn't be able to speak that many languages. Hey, was there a pill that could let her read? Surely there had to be something for that, maybe then she would not look like such a loser while everyone else read their novels and she looked at pop up books.
Although it seemed like they would each get their own room, they of course had to meet up and discuss the plan, so Fade just tucked her key in her back pocket and followed Shawn to whatever room he would want to talk to them in. For starters, Fade didn't even know there was a country called Romania, but apparently they were having trouble and it was up to the X-Men to help out.
((Sorry it has taken me so long, guys, been having some major family issues.))
Kasumi seemed ready, although she seemed a slight bit hesistant at first. It only made her mortal, even if mutants were not considered humans, they were still mortal and still have feelings and conflicting ideas. If anyone knew about conflicting ideas, it was definitely Fade. Hell, she would have been on the other side if they had gotten to her first, but she was being a good little invisible girl and she could play nice these days. Dom on the other hand approached the situation quite differently. It seemed he was not too thrilled to be handed this task, but whatever his cause for doing this, he spoke up.
Technically, he did have a choice, he could just opt out and leave the training session. No one was forcing him to become an X-Man, but it was not Fade's place to speak up, technically, she had not been re-admitted yet. So she just nodded. Funny how everyone seemed to glance at Aura, that girl sure knew how to make an impression. Streak started up the training session and Fade realized her one flaw in trying to figure out what all they could do to help keep each side from killing eachother. What were their powers?
Whether or not she had seen them in battle before, she could not remember what exactly they did. It was a bit odd to try to form this resistance when she had no clue what her team mates were capable of. Turning to them, she simply said "I'm able to turn invisible and I can phase through objects. I can use that to protect the Senator. What are your powers? We need to isolate the two sides, we're not helping either of them, but we're protecting both sides." She figured that was the best approach. They weren't there to fuel a fight, they were there to keep it from breaking out.
I was able to save the webpage and do the graphic on my down time back at the apartment (silly me has no internet) and I just uploaded it. Tell me if you want any changes
