The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Ah, that better clarifies things, It appeared as if you paid her to use one of your drawings to make herself an outfit. “
Zelek grinned. “She couldn’t. but you did well enough. She might have made me test my resolve to spare a life, if you hadn’t mentioned she wasn’t quite insulting me as much as it seemed.” Valliant effort left room for mistakes. Mistakes he might try to avoid. None the less it gave him the wiggle room he required.
He chuckled quietly.
”Honestly Kitra, Just because my father has abandoned me, doesn’t mean he has left me out in the cold. He left me enough in bonds and other investments that I never need worry about clientele. He leaned forward; besides, I can summon gold and diamonds by the handful, why would I live like a pauper? I’ve always kept the penthouse as my own place of Solace, but it might be nice to have some company.”
He pulled out his cell phone and called for a cab. His fingers pet her neck and would continue to do so until a cab was ready. He had rarely shown off the lush life style he led these days.
“Tearing down the walls would get complicated with all the other mutants there, I doubt they would just sit back and watch me do it.” He shrugged. “You know very well exactly what I’d be up against and seven good reasons why that wouldn’t work in my favor.”
“Oh, yes. You ladies keep the town guard warm at night, if only in their dreams.” He smirked. “ So I did.” He pulled metal out of the air around him and formed three chalices, not giving up on the fact the other woman might come around. “That bottle of wine is more than two centuries old. It should be fantastic.” His features slumped as she asked. “Perhaps with enough time, you can come to trust me. to find that I am after you, but not in the way you imagine.”
“Too true, Ink. But if I had found a cellar of full of Soda or pineapple juice I would have coming baring that instead, I simply thought to share the bounty I have found, neither of you has to drink a drop. Again, I fully understand.”
He looked to the third wheel and corrected her. “If you knew Jorge, Gina, Aedus and the Ssyn brothers you would know how wild that accusation sounds. They don’t want anyone dead. They are protective of outsiders, and if you think that the reason there hasn’t been any deaths between the Amazons and Jorgetown is a spot of good fortune and luck. Well than you don’t know much about battle, Those brutes of ours can lift the fallen sky sky scrapers. Eruption can function in a mode of lava Jorge could drown most he comes across. Gina could easily drop boulders on your heads.” Technically Gina would have to settle for large rocks, but it sounded good.
“I don’t doubt the amazons prowess and that there would be blood on both sides. But to say they don’t care is an overstatement. To say they have tried to kill you, is nonsense. Abyss would personally have my head if I harmed his daughter in law or his adopted little sister. The Ssyn brothers miss you all, I think they have more family there than they do in town. If you made an acceptation to your no men rule they would solidify the Amazons claim to unequaled power.”
He Addressed Ink’s last statement to Kitra. “If you would like to leave I won’t stand in the way, you’ve let my eyes behold you during peace which is more than I deserve perhaps another time?”
“Syn and I, while having that special moment won’t be exploring the depths od that peculiar interest any longer. You however seem actively interested in me, call me a masochist if you like dear, but you might consider your own predicament as well.”
Half a smile on his face promised retribution for her remarks. But for some reason he found himself fond of her instead of hating her, she was somehow bold instead of foolish, kind to Kitra instead of out of place to him. “The price of coffee has gone up.” he commented about the payment.
Zelek considered feeling the waitress’s lungs with something sharp, but spared her as it was sound advice. His eye brow raised as he picked something off the list that he decided would be fun and started to sculpt it in a fine stone, the nearby tile shop would wonder at how their tiles became so brittle. The one he picked was female fairy. He sculpted the little dragonfly-winged woman in Kitra’s likeness, nude to amuse himself and hopefully shock her. The colors he used were spot on as he had many shades to pull from the area next door. “I’ll have to concentrate on it for awhile but it will hold together if you’d like to sell it to that one.” He tapped the paper near the name. “I don’t want credit for the work, if you want claim it yourself name me only as an associate."
An empath would only be able to change his attitude toward her, if she realized his intent. Amanda’s days were numbered. ‘I’ve never noted a human I couldn’t convince that I was good for them, it’s the ones that are obvious that have the trouble, though I doubt those large red men you ascoiate with would have much cause to care what anyone thinks of them.
He raised any eyebrow at the head upon his shoulder; The woman next to him courted death and clearly valued him more than he valued anyone in the world. He was still a bit perplexed by the notion that someone could be interested. “What kind of thanks did you have in mind?”
Talks of fun and or relationships answered that for him, easily enough. But said fun came with stipulations. “Would you settle for an honest effort, to try to not kill anyone? I’m afraid that sometimes things get a bit complicated in my life, I could make an effort not to kill, but I can’t promise it. is that enough for you?” His nails ran lightly over her shoulder and up her neck. He might even actually do just that for awhile just to explore this odd proposition that Kitra represented.
“So, you’re claiming you knew I was innocent? How does that taste in your mouth?" He smirked, this was going to be more fun than he could have imagined.. “ Hell looks good on you.” It really did to, Messy hair , dark circles around her eyes the defeated slump in her shoulders that he shouldn’t be in love with but absolutely was.
His grin broadened as he thought of that disturbing experiment. “ She was going to do it anyway. Why not enjoy it? Do you think I would let someone stab me with that? Honestly! The things you say sometimes.” “I’m fine. Better than ever in fact.” He sipped his coffee and eyed the woman’s neck across from him before it disappeared before a curtain of strawberry. He stood up and sat in her side of the booth throwing an arm around her and resting on the back of the booth. Do you think they might except Sculptures instead of drawings?” perhaps they could find a private work space and explore the boundaries of what exactly she was signing up for as a meal ticket?
If it was simply an off the cuff remark, or in his old life if he had managed to get the girl so smitten with him that he could do whatever he pleased. He could make peace with that, indeed.
A figure slid into her booth. A vicious mocking grin set on a familiar face across from her.He glanced down at the paper, looking at rows of names and subjects he assumed were demands made by meat of the dangerous and delectable woman across from him. He opened his mouth and words poured like acid past razor like teeth and hateful lips. "and I quote 'If Zelek is involved with this, then I will help you find a way to kill him if that would truly make you happy ' What the Hell Kitra? Wheres the loyalty? Where's the love? You look like hell by the way."
His hand snapped to get the attention of an immediately annoyed waitress. "bring me a triple shot Mocha frap." He looked at her and smiled at the disdain and added in the same tone Kitra had just received. "Please." the way it was said made it anything but a pleasantry.
He looked once more at the paper and waited for the Redhead that had been hit by the subway to respond to his taunting questions. the truth was, he was amused but it all, the time he spent with Syn were enlightening on so many levels.
Alas, she wasn’t in love with him anymore, that look of awe and admiration was gone, but then again she was still here wasn’t she. He nodded to her first question, expecting it. He wasn’t about to tell her some awe inspiring tale of seeing the light, he wouldn’t be able to keep a straight face. “Logistics initially, I can’t bloody well dine on every one I meet these days. Human’s were so numerous back then that running around sating my wonton hunger didn’t seem like such a crime. But these days, well, this city might be everyone that has survived.” He put his hands up as if to signal his surrender. “I know, caring if the world survives seems an odd thing for me to say, at least it should seeing as we haven’t talked in awhile, but I’ve been working hard to stop and control my urges. They wouldn’t let me stay in town if they knew I was a danger, they might try to kill me, even if I have built the walls around them. In short, all the death and destruction have made a better man of me, If not a perfect one.”
“As you know of course wine is stored in cellars. I may have found a cellar that was completely intact. It has helped with my old habit, from blood to grapes I suppose.” He smiled lightly. “Look at the vintage, this bottle would have been priceless back then, now though so fool would stumble upon it and not even realize the vintage they were drowning themselves in.” “Good, Things are going very well in town. We could always use a few more pretty faces if things ever get to intense down in bone town. If you ladies ever needed my services, I’d be happy to offer some accent to all of that ivory.”
Zelek looked up to the woman covered in ink. “The bottle hasn’t been opened if you’d prefer something I couldn’t have tampered with.” The cork, seal and label were all in place. “Or not if you don’t , again I understand. I just have little to offer and have asked much. Either way I appreciate you accompanying Kitra out here.”
He looked back to Kitra. “How have you been, is there any way you would consider reconciling our differences?” That last line almost made him feel bad.
He had picked time square because the ruble piled oh so high in this area, but miraculously left the majority of the intersection clear, the insane amount of minerals he had to work with here was just amazing. He had set up a few surprises for the young women that he anticipated but he would only lead them to those if he thought he would need them. He watched from his perch in the ruble, he wasn’t quite foolish enough to face all of the amazons at once and he had considered the possibility she might bring them all, she still might have, but he didn’t count them among the subtle type, they would be here by now if they were. Also he was counting on his ploy working, he assumed she would be embarrassed to tell her sisters in arms how much she wanted to return to him.
He surveyed the other woman, the ink manipulator. Delicious, a pair of red heads all for him, though with the Amazon’s red heads were the majority it seemed to him. He watched a moment more and slide down from his perch.
“Sorry to keep you waiting Kitra, you aren’t the only one that needs to be cautious” he showed that his hands are empty.” I lack premade weapons, but fear I can’t dispose of my mutation, so I have made myself vulnerable as possible.” He smiled as he set a basket down on the ground. He pulled the blanket from the top of the basket, and settled it on the ground in front of them. He then pulled a large wooden stake out, handled with a piece of cloth and set it in the middle of the blanket, whoever wanted it could grab it and stake him at a moment’s notice. “I brought some, wine and some food as a peace offering.” He glanced to the other girl. “You are welcome to break bread with us to if you like.”
Two of the brother’s left at the beginning one carrying Kitra and the other making sure the staff stayed out and no one else came in. The third seemed a bit more perverse and seemed to like the bloodshed as much as his sister.
His breathing was shallow and slow. The pain excruciating and exhilarating, his healing keeping him alive and conscious even as she made a living study of anatomy, As his mind reeled at the surprising amounts of blood and anguish that poured forth from him, a light headed wildness perpetuated itself in his mind, He created a large golden alter just below where the devil held him in place.
He was fairly certain he had entered hell at some point, the sterile white surroundings slowly but surely came to match the color of the succubus’s hair and the skin on the demon. He was becoming delirious from pain, agony, blood loss, blood lust, lust. His emotions varied as he momentarily hated the woman before him and loved her as she baptized him in a whole new kind of suffering for every few minute that went by. But still his body fought on to sew itself back together.
It was then he realized how indestructible he was. it was invigorating and terrifying. What if they kept him like this fore ever switching places and causing him unending sorrow.
He started to laugh. The sound was far away. His eyes locked onto beautiful emerald orbs. He brought himself to standing. And began to sing. He was starting to think he was in love with the evil thing in front of him.
Zelek scrawled in his finest penmanship, a look of diabolical madness set the tone for his features.
Dearest Kitra,
It seems like it has been ages, I write to confess I have finally seen the error of my ways and realized I am the fool you've always known me to be. I miss the way you hair bounces when you laugh. I miss the way you look into my eyes and see so much more potential than I do, or ever did. I'm writing to let you know that I have changed. Dday put my life into focus for me, as you know I help protect the town, I protect people. its odd to think that it took something of this magnitude to make it possible and while I know you must be skeptical, I have to see you again. I long to make up for time lost and wasted. please meet me at old time square, if you brought someone along to ensure that I am not up to any of my old tricks, I would understand wholeheartedly. if you can give me one last chance, you will never have to give me another.
sincerely, -Zelek-
The last of the ink was flicked from the quill with a wicked smile on his face. he sealed the letter with red wax and handed it to a rather spry young woman, All he had to do for her was, to hand over the item of her choosing that he promised upon her return, of course she must prove to him that the letter was safely delivered, he would accept a snippet of her ginger locks.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- The girl ran quickly and steadily toward the bone fortress, her mutation afforded her great stamina. instead of movement burning energy she produced more with every step. this energy could be poured right back into movement or out of the palms of her hands in beams. she survived this wretched world for a reason.
She stepped eying the man at the gate, medium height, scaled, cold black eyes.
"I've a letter for Kitra." the girl spouted out. What kind of man served the amazons? Much less survived them?
"I'll ssee to it that it iss delivered." He replied just as coldly, his hand already securing several shurikens.in case the girl was trouble.
"I need proof. a lock of her hair.." the delivery girl refused.
the lizard rolled his black orbs and pulled a strand of his hair from beneath the hat on his head, it quickly changed to the color of the amazon in question and cut the lock of his hair off and offered it to her.
'It iss the exact color, I asssure you." he held out his palm and received the note. a wrap on the gate and a message sent to the closest girl inside would let the woman know of the letters arrival. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The girl returned with her lock of counterfeit hair, Zelek cunningly convinced her that he must be under ground to find the materials that he needed to acquire for her prize and she could accompany him if she must. slowly the spider and the fly made way to an abandon section of subway tunnels, oddly sealed on both sides. the area was free of paper, ink, and every other material that he personally didn't exude control over, it was his lair, his domain, his place of entertainment.
the girl seemed to suspect something was suspicious just as it was becoming too late. A thought of his blocked her throat with earthly debri. as she struggled choking he held her hands flat to her sides and entombed her body in stone up to her navel. she could let her energy go, if she wanted to blow her own legs off.
'You will sate me until she falls for my trap. Don't worry I am a gentle soul." he whispered in the dimly lit cavern. his teeth sank into her shoulder and he enjoyed the taste of her terror.
The dare was met, sampled and dispatched; the growl on his acquaintances attitude was charming. The hand in his pocket was cause for alarm, he was a mutant after all, who knows what dastardly mutation he might have. Iron slowly and subtlety coated the inside of his shirt, the cloth would soon hang with the added weight of the protection he had bothered with, just because he could survive a murder, didn’t mean it was all that comfortable to do so.
Zelek’s cackle echoed off of the walls in the catwalk. That was good, an assassin not a killer. “Semantics.” The vampire stated. He was slightly bewildered at the man’s retort. A prideful assassin, who was not a killer, did not make an assassin at all. “Do elaborate, you might as well claim to be a chef that doesn’t cook while you are at it. The body on the street is no more or less dead if you label him as assassinated or killed. Still his corpse will bleed and defecate. ”
His second comment however amused him more than the first. “I am more hands on myself as well. Being up close and seeing the moment they know they will die is so much more fulfilling, I am sure that a scope gives a hint of that taste but it can’t compare to the real thing, I’d imagine.”
“But I’m interrupting. I believe you were going to clarify why exactly you are superior to my lowly status of predator.” He carried on at his steady nonchalant pace waiting for the viper he had hoped to find a kindred soul in, declared himself a foe.
He couldn't hear her, he could smell her, he couldn't see her, but oh how he could almost taste her. from the glimpse of her that he caught he could tell she had grown in to a beautiful woman and his stomach ached the moment he saw her. How she ran, the look of thrilling terror in those eyes. oh she was breathtaking. He had to have her. Had to. He had to! His tongue lapped over his teeth and lips, he was salivating.
He bid the earth under his feet to propel him forward faster. Meanwhile, blocks and bumps popped out of the ground behind the dirt outline of a girl.no, woman. he was gaining on her and soon she we would be with in his range, once she was her blood would be his for the plundering and the amazons would be one woman shorter.
It was the smarter play, He had a place where he took the occasional wanderer and made them last until he found something new, to feed off of. She would replace all three of his current thralls, they had given up, they didn't even mind his biting anymore, in the days of yore he would have entombed them and been done with it, but a traveler's were few and far between now., She would make things interesting for him, he could tell she had a fighting spirit. she would be hard to break. the perfect toy.
The ground beneath his feet lifted him, then pushed and carried him forward, with in his range all sorts of tangles popped out of the ground that would be apt to snagging feet even if he couldn’t see the feet he wished to tangle. He caught a momentary huff of breath and hurried foot falls but in moments those were gone as well. She must have been terrified if she was pulling out all the stops. Still the only clue he had was the odd movement of dirt on her skin, she was by no means covered head to toe, so the odd side effect of seeing dirt that was supposed to be invisible was a challenging to follow. But it was enough.
If he could get her within ten feet, that would be the game. He wondered how many times he would bite her, before her tricks would fade and he could watch her suffer. He followed her down the left alleyway and lost her for a moment until the form ran left. He surged forward once more, she’d have to get tired sometime soon.
((Katrina's and Zelek's chase continues in Rare stakes))
Circle around and flank…A nod to Markus and Abyss, they had better hurry up unless they wanted paper cuts too. There was no doubt about it, he wasn’t walking away from this unscathed,. merely victorious. Zelek’s eyes caught something just before the Red paper went and turned into a hound, He could have swore it was poppet…a girl from the very begging, a treat he never did get to eat. She was rabbiting off down the alley way as he wasted his time on paper. Maybe he didn’t need to fight it so much as he needed to slow it down, it was already after him and not the boys, that was good enough wasn’t it?
None of the other townies were around to see, and he would be helping the overall cause by taking one of the amazons out. Oh yes, he didn’t need to convince himself, no her blood would do that afterwards.
The red dog had lunged for his throat, The dog would hit its mark all covered in stone. Zelek wrapped himself in granite, and two waves shot from the ground , like a fly caught between two hands the dog would be smashed in the middle as two waves of granite shot from the ground and clapped as the met in the middle. A moment after the sand would clap, a geyser of sand would meet Zelek’s feet and propell him into the air and away from the dog as well, he couldn’t be too careful when dealing with the Amazon queen…but then he was so thirsty. His body hit the ground and rolled he rose from the ground with scrapes and bruises.
Zelek was running toward the alley the girl went down. He couldn’t even spare a glance over his shoulder to tell if the hound pursued or not. His eyes fixed on the girl who just disappeared he couldn’t see her but the dirt that clung to her figure betrayed her and gave him all he would need to track her.
“Katrina…I see you.” His voice called as he remembered her name. He was lying; he could only see the filth clinging to her skin.
(Sorry for attempting to bow out on the pup Maxine, but I must fight and Run, there is a tasty treat just within reach. Feel free to follow and make me hunted while hunting or hit that max distance and leave Slate’s girl to moi.)
He warred with himself, He was all too happy to please the lovely lady before him, but he had no such qualms about the large red oafs man handling him. He let out a gasp as his upper arm snapped and near immediately started to right itself. His bruised back and slightly bleeding head stitched themselves together as well; it was only drywall he was being put through after all.
His head tilted down as he smiled at the woman, a shy almost boyish look over coming his features as the lovely woman before him accessed the truth of what he said. “So be it, I’ll see to it that I pass the message forward. Though I must say, your message isn’t likely to write well on this particular wall.” Zelek said causally before wincing as his throat was gripped in a way that allowed no more room for quips.
His eyes locked on to the woman before him, it was an odd sensation, much like that of a roller coaster. Click click click click as you slowly climb the hill, what did she have in store for him that would send him over the peak and screaming in pain as he cascaded? His curiosity at the moment outweighed all else. Though these brutes were more effective than he thought they ought to be.
---- Mercury turned around to Kitra, They had it well in hand. He shook his head and spoke softly. “Calm yourself, he has accepted his fate. I don’t want your logic getting you sucked in. besides you said he as a murderer, he probably has it coming.” Uncharacteristically wise words fell from Mercury’s lips. He would cover her ears lightly once the screaming began, all she need do was move his arms away he wouldn’t attempt to protect her again, he wouldn’t resist in the least.
