The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. I'm really tempted to get involved in this... but I have to be honest, I'm not sure if I can with my character Rook. He's a bit... how should I say it... unstable while sleeping. Meaning that he might bring his depression into the dream, and that could make everything go completely bonkers.
"Well, this is getting me no where fast." Alex mumbled as he made his way through the dark streets of New York, examining several buildings that were either for sale, rent, or lease as he went. He wasn't actually looking for a place to actually buy or rent out for him to live in, but rather to start up a pottery shop, where he could make a living and finally be able to leave the stuffy motel he was currently staying in. What he needed though was a building in fairly good condition and in a location where he would have a large number of customers. Thus far, there hasn't been anything that fit the bill that he could afford.
Alex stopped and held up the electrical lantern he was carrying to take a look at the building marked 'for sale' that was in front of him, and his face expression quickly changed from curiosity to a total and complete 'ick' expression. The building was, for lack of a better word, dilapidated. There were more bricks missing and falling out then there were stable, every single window was broken, and the front door was broken in half. Shaking his head, Alex turned his back on the building and started to walk away, marking the building with an 'x' on the map in his hands. "Not setting up shop there. Time to get out of this area and head back to the motel." Alex said to himself as he rolled up the map and stuffed it into his pocket.
He was about the walk away when he heard what sounded like a scuffle. Not wanting to become involved, Alex quickly turned the electric lantern off and started to make his way through the dark, while hoping his eyes adjust to the dark quickly. As he turned a corner, he noticed someone dressed in baggy pants and a large hoody carrying a baseball bat trying to get away from three other people, whom Alex guessed were gangsters, and each of them were armed with either a knife or a chain. The three gangsters had managed to catch up to the person in the hoody and had knocked him down to the ground, and threatened him that they were going to make him pay for messing with them.
Hearing and seeing this, Alex's free hand curled into a tight fist. The lesson that those guys had in mind for that would person would leave that guy crippled for life, if he survived at all. Without even thinking about his own safety, Alex quickly started to make he way towards the four people. "Ganging up on someone like that? How cowardly can you get? If you really have to fight someone, how about someone your own size?" Alex stated in a booming voice that held a great amount of authority. Alex had spent five years in an authoritative positioned so the tone wasn't faked, but real. In order to make sure that the gangsters knew where he was, He quickly turned on the electrical lantern onto full so the entire street was lit up for a 30 square feet, and he was only six feet away from the gangsters when he had turned on the lamp, so they could clearly see the stern look in his cyan eyes, and the expression on his face showed that he was serious.
Alex wasn't intending to use his mutation for this fight, but if he had to he would. Also, he wasn't trying to be a hero. He just wanted to help out as much as he could. After putting down the lantern and cracking his knuckles and eyed each gangsters then smiled. "So, is one of you gonna step forwards or you gonna tuck your tails between your legs and run?"
Alex remained silent and nodded every now and then as Streak continued to answer his question about what the silver skinned man did at the mansion. When Streak said that he was actually friends with Emerald, Alex tilted his head to the left slightly and nodded. Last time he had talked to Emerald, he had made the mistake of letting his depression get the better of him and had talked about the wrong stuff, like when he had rescued a family member from the camps... and Emerald reacted rather badly to it and had scolded him to not talk about the camps again before she left in a huff. Worst part about it was that he already knew this but had done it anyways. Well, now he knew better, and he also had a better grip on his depression so the chances of him falling to pieces in front of someone whom wouldn't understand was a whole lot less.
When Streak mentioned that Alex would be surprised with how many mutant employees they get, Alex only shrugged and chuckled a little bit, which sounded a little odd thanks to the voice filter. However Streak seemed to like the idea of a pottery shop, and Alex had a very good idea of how to run and maintain one, so there wouldn't be any problem with running it. Because of this, a smile started to spread across his face, though it was impossible to see it thanks to the voice filter covering the lower have of his face. He also had a trick up his sleeve that would allow him to create some clay art that no other potter had the ability to do... he could use his mutation to mold the clay in any shape or form that he chose. Only a mutant that could manipulate the clay itself could have any chance in topping him.
However when the silvery man asked Alex what his mutation was, Alex's smile faded. "Uh... well..." Alex started out in a robotic voice, then he stopped talking. "I don't really want to talk about my mutation. When my gift first revealed itself it was more like a curse... and a lot of people were physiologically hurt as a result of what happened. Now they want me dead. That's why I chose to have the voice filter. I really don't want to be found by them." Aelx stated as he answered Streak's question. It wasn't the whole truth, and it was twisted a bit, but it was the only answer Alex was going to give the stranger.
After saying that, Alex turned his head so he was no longer looking in Streak's direction and glanced passed the lead actor and actress, whom seemed to be getting along a little better now, and glanced at the crowd of anti-mutant protestors... and flinched. An anti-mutant protestor had managed to get passed the police and was running towards the cafe with a rather heavy looking brick in his hands. Even though there was a couple of police men chasing the man and were catching up, he kept running towards the set and just before the police caught up to him, he threw the brick towards the cafe set.
Without thinking, Alex jumped off of his bar stool and reached into his leather jacket, and pulled the malachite dagger, Defiance, and his eyes started to glow a steady green. "Look out!" Alex bellowed as he aimed the dagger at the airborne brick, and the dagger's blade quickly started to grow at a astonishing rate... it went from two feet long to 18 feet long within half a second and had gone right between the lead actors and passed the producer. After that, the tip of the blade flattened out and seemed to grow into a wall that was three feet tall and six feet wide. The brick struck the malachite wall with a thump, and landed on the ground harmlessly. Alex let out a sigh of relief... if he had not acted, the brick would of struck the producer on the back of the head. The malachite wall quickly shrank back down into the pole that was 18 feet long, which then returned to it's original length of two feet.
As Alex's eyes stopped glowing and he returned the dove wing shaped blade to the scabbard that was hidden under his leather jacket, the police caught the anti-mutant protestor and were dragging him towards the nearest police car as the protestor repeatably stated that he didn't mean to hurt anyone. The producer's face had gone pale; a result of nearly losing his life, and the lead actors were both speechless. Alex, on the other hand, simply turned to face Streak and shrugged. "Well... does that answer your question?"
As the lead actor and actress started to play out their roles, Alex managed to ignore them by paying attention to Streak and listened to the silvery man's response to Alex's question about what he does at the X-mansion. He wasn't surprised that Streak said that he did a whole lot of stuff there, it was a big place after all. However when the silver man mentioned he was head of security, Alex's eyebrows went up in surprise. "Head of security? Of that place? Wow, that's got to be one very interesting job!" Alex commented, and the hint of amazement could be heard even through the voice filter. He's voice might be obscured, but there was still a living breathing person behind that voice.
Alex continued to listen to Streak talk, and nodded when the man mentioned how surprised he was that the place was still standing and people were still living there. "I have to agree with you. Anything can happen around mutants that are just starting to get use to their powers, and I mean anything. Still though, it is a beautiful place. I was given a tour of the place by a couple people I'm sure you know then, Hokee and Emerald. It's quite amazing." Alex stated, then picked up his glass to have a small sip since he was thirsty, then remembered about the mask covering his face and put the glass down again and shrugs slightly with a tiny chuckle. "Forgot... can't drink anything while wearing a mask." he mutters quietly, then glances back at Streak when he asked what Alex does around town.
"Still looking for something to do. I'm from Kansas and moved here a few weeks ago. I was thinking about asking for a job at the mansion as a janitor, but no one there knows me so why should they trust me enough to hire me? I wouldn't in a place that important. So, I'm thinking about starting a pottery shop instead." Alex stated before glancing passed Streak and out the window to see what was going on near where the anti-mutant protestors were. It almost looked like several people were trying to run for the filming set, but the police were holding them back. Seeing that made Alex a little worried, but not enough to make him want to leave. He needed the money from this to help him start his pottery business. The 500 dollars helped, but he was going to need a little bit more.
Meanwhile, the lead actor was acting as if he was getting annoyed with the lead actress. "Hmph. Why is it that mutants have to act so full of themselves?" He asked to no one in particular with a hint of anger in his voice. Even though she knew that the question wasn't directed at her, the lead actress answered him. "Well, if you dislike mutants so much, then why did you come to a mutant friendly cafe?" she responded while lifting her nose up as if she was pretending to be a snob. With a grumble, the lead actor stood up and left his unfinished meal on the table and started to head for the door. "Hmph! If it was up to me, all mutants would be banished to the slums until a prison on a deserted island was built for them." the lead actor said with a hiss and started to leave. "What ever you say Hitler." the lead actress responded.
The lead actor turned around, his face twisted with rage. "What did you call me?" he asked fuming. The lead actress sighed and shook her head sadly. "You heard me. I compared you to Hitler. Think about it for a moment before you strangle me though. Hitler wanted to exterminate all of the Jewish people because he believed that they were the cause of everything wrong in the world. They didn't choose to be Jewish they were just born that way, but because of that one thing that they had no choice in the matter of instantly made them the enemy of the world in Hitler's eyes and they didn't deserve to live. It's the same thing with mutants. We were never given the option to be a human or a mutant, we were simply born that way. However because of that one thing we never had control over, we're labeled public enemy number one and everyone thinks the world would be better off without mutants being here. If you think mutants shouldn't be around because we are simply different, then you are no better then Hitler. Try sleeping that one off." the lead actress stated with a huff, and gulped down some gasoline. The lead actor stood there, dumbfounded. "I... I never thought of it that way."
Alex's cyan eyes flashed green for a second and went wide in surprise before he looked out of the corner of his eyes towards the lead actor and actress. Did she seriously just say what he thought he heard her say? If so, that was really going to get people's attention.
Hey people! I have an open thread slot, and I'm more then willing to role play with anyone that asks. We could spar, simply talk over a bowl of soup, chase down some gangsters that are causing trouble, or maybe practice using our powers together. Your call.
About ten minutes after the producer left the set in order to figure out what to do next since he seemed to think that it would take a while for the lead actress to get cleaned up, he came back with a look of relief on his face. After clearing his throat, he turned to the extras to address them. "Well, it looks like we're going to be continuing this scene in a moment or two. I have just been told that our lead actress has been able to clean herself up far faster then expected, thanks to her mutation. We're going to attempt to film this scene again in a minute." the producer stated before sitting down in the director's chair. A moment later the lead actress was walking towards the cafe in a new costume with fresh makeup... and was giving the lead actor a rather stern glare since she had clearly heard him laughing about her getting covered in mucus. Seeing this Alex just shook his head and muttered "Hell hath no wrath like a woman's scorn..."
Once the lead actor and actress were back in their places again, the producer called out "Quiet on the set!" and the idle chatter quickly died down... save for the old man in the wheel chair whom was telling his granddaughter how small she should cut up the steak he was given so he could eat it. Once he was done talking, the producer smiled and nodded. "Okay, cafe scene, take one... action!" the producer shouted, and the camera started rolling, and several of the extras started to quietly talk to the people they were sitting next to. Anna started to cut the steak that Elder was given into small pieces and carefully feeding them to grumpy old man... whom appeared to be annoyed that he had to be spoon fed instead of feeding himself... however it was very difficult to tell if he really did need help eating, or if he was just pretending for the sake of the movie. In the mean time, Alex turned back to Silver Streak and shrugged slightly. "So, you said you work at the X-mansion. What's your job, exactly?" he asked with the robotic voice of the voice filter.
As the extras talked amongst themselves, the lead actor sipped at his coffee and read his newspaper, humming to himself quietly while making comments on what he was reading. "So several golems mutants, an army of earth manipulating mutants, and an a handful of water controlling mutants have managed to grow an underwater mountain in the Pacific Ocean to the point that they made it into an island large enough to become the home of several hundred people. Heh, send all of the mutants there so they can leave us humans in peace. Lets see what else... the first mutant Olympics is starting in a few months, talk about pointless. There has to be something interesting in this paper..." the lead actor stated as he snapped the paper and continued to read.
Right on the cue of the snapped newspaper, the lead actress entered the cafe and headed towards the ordering counter, where a six armed mutant chef stood by, ready to take her order. "I'll have the usual." she stated with nod and a smile, revealing metallic teeth behind her stoney lips. "One mug of gasoline and a plateful of charcoal coming up." the six armed chef stated and his six arms quickly got to work in getting her order together, and soon he handed her a tray with a plate that had a mountain of charcoal on it along with a tall mug full of gasoline.
Handing over a handful of bills, the lead actress picked up her tray and started to look around for a place to sit, but the only location that had an empty seat was at the lead actor's table. So with a nod, the lead actress walked over to the blue table. "Do you mind if I join you? This is the only free seat in the house." she stated politely. Hearing someone talking to him, the lead actor looked up at the woman in front of him that had stony skin covered with red cracks, and quickly glanced around to see if there was someplace else she could sit so he wouldn't have to eat with a mutant, but there wasn't a free seat anywhere. "Eh, alright fine." he stated with a huff, and then wrinkled his nose in disgust when he saw what was on her tray after she set it down and took a seat. "How can you eat that?" he asked as his skin turned green. With a smile, the actress picked up a piece of charcoal and popped it into her mouth and started to chew it up with ease, as if it was just a crunchy cookie. "I could ask you the same question. Don't those eggs clog up your stomach?"
When Emerald asked if he was alright since he had zoned out for a little bit, Alex didn't answer at first, then sighed sadly and nodded. "I'm alright... I'm just remembering one of the biggest cover ups of my home state's history, and it has to do with the mutant camps." Alex stated, then looked down at his hands, which were now laying down in his lap.
"Before I became a mutant, my sister-in-law was the only mutant in our family and we loved her dearly. Her teleporting abilities always made the children smile, but almost everyone in Topeka knew about her because she would be teleporting all over the city to help those in need, such as entering a burning building and pulling out people that were trapped one by one and teleporting them next to the ambulance. She was considered a heroine, but when the mutant camp was set up in the small town of Wamego, she was taken there at gun point." Alex said as he started to tell Emerald about the situation that had happened. He didn't even consider that she might not want to hear it, but he had to get it off of his chest. "My entire family and I went there in an attempt to get her out legally, but the people in charge of that camp wouldn't give in. We were about to try bribery when there was a loud explosion within the camp. The mutants had started to riot..." Alex stated as he continued. "The military responded by opening fire on the mutants. No warnings, no attempts to calm the situation, no nothing... they just fired. I can still hear the mutants screaming for mercy... the smell of the all that blood that started flow out from under doors because there was too much for the ground to absorb... the sight of so many bodies riddled with holes..." Alex stated, then his voice trailed off as he wiped another tear away.
With a sniffle, he finally finished. "My sister-in-law survived by teleporting into my vehicle and the entire family fled. She was the only survivor of that massive slaughter. She never smiled or used her mutation ever again after that. All of those people... dead... just because they were born with unique gifts that humans don't have." Alex finished and looked away from Emerald, unable to look into her eyes now because several more tears were flowing away from his eyes. Just talking about it made him feel like he was right back there.
After Alex had granted permission to the man outside to come into Alex's hospital room, he couldn't help but notice that the man had a concerned look on his face, and Alex easily guessed why... after all, he was really bandaged up. However this man was the first person to actually act concerned about Alex's injury, but then again it was kinda common for doctors and nurses to have calluses when it came to their patients... other wise they would all be crying over a splinter.
Once the man introduced himself as Detective Drake and said that he wanted to ask Alex a few questions, he gave a small nod and pointed at the chair that was next to the bed. "Sure. Take a seat if you want to." Alex stated in response before sitting down on the bed and wincing again. "I'm Alexander Davis by the way. You know, you're the fourth person to want to ask me questions." Alex stated as he glanced around for an ice pack, but didn't see one. With a sigh, he turned back to Drake. "Lets see, I've talked to people about health insurance, the purse I had when I was picked up, the dagger I really need to get back, a criminal history that doesn't exist, and if I'm allergic to anything. Is what you want to know in one of those categories or is this about something that no one else has asked about yet?" Alex asked calmly. He wasn't trying to be rude at all, he was just annoyed with the whole situation that it was starting to ware down his nerves.
That sounds really interesting! Rook might join in... but then again at that age he was so depressed that he was labeled suicidal.... so I'm not 100% sure about it.
Wow... this could be really interesting. It would be even more interesting if each person that entered this dream world brought into this world a piece of their personality or their history. In Alex's case, he could bring in that he views every single one of his family members as a hero or heroine so they are all clothed in white or in beautiful armor, though he views himself as nothing but a traitor so all he's wearing is black leather that is blood stained.
... this could be really amazing to say the least. Now, as for wacky dream powers or creatures, I've got a laundry list of those. For example just off the top of my head, there could be a snake that looks like a sock puppet with Robin Williams face on the front singing Beethoven's 5th with the unique power to burp soap bubbles that head towards dirt like rocket and blow up the dirt so it no longer exists. That happened once in my dreams. Like I said, I've got a laundry list of odd creatures and odd powers.
When the silvery man nicknamed Silver Streak answered Alex's suggestion about what they could talk about by saying he worked at the mansion, the malachite manipulator smiled. He had plenty of questions to ask this man, though he knew the answers to most of them already thanks to his tour of the mansion by Hokee and Emerald had answered a few other questions. Alex already knew that he wasn't going to be applying to get a job at the mansion, but he knew that he needed a friend or two and the mansion was the best place to start. If Streak worked there, then it might be a good idea for Alex to befriend him, and the best way was to ask some questions about the mansion. Who knows? He might learn something new.
A second or two later the producer started to give more directions. "Okay, lighting is good, camera is rolling. Action!" The producer shouted through his bull horn. Several extras started to chat in order to create background noise while the lead actor snapped his newspaper and began to read it as he nibbled on some of his food. Alex started to open his mouth from behind the voice filter to ask Streak his first question when an enormous sneeze was suddenly heard, followed by a horrified shriek. A moment later, the lead actress walked into view of the producer... and she was covered from neck line to her knees in some sort of yellow slime that really stank, and the actress looked like she was about to cry, and Alex couldn't blame her. Seeing this, the producer quickly shouted "Cut! What just happen?!" the producer asked in surprised and shock.
The man that had left while holding his stomach walked in behind the actress, a guilty look on his face. Strangely, he didn't look sick anymore. "I'm sorry, this is my fault. You see when ever I sneeze my mucus flies far and wide in the form of birds. Normally I can control it but when ever I get a stomach ache I know I'm about to let out enough mucus to be the size of a golden eagle. I left the set so I wouldn't ruin it, but I couldn't hold it in long enough. Sorry." the man said with down cast eyes. The producer shook his head slowly and sighed. "At least you didn't do it on purpose. Make up! Get her into the shower." the producer stated, then watched the lead actress get led off by several people that work in make up. "Poor thing..." Alex whispered, then glared at the lead actor whom was laughing so hard that he had fallen out of his chair.
With a sigh, the producer turned to the extras and shrugged. "Well... looks like we're not going to be filming this scene for at least half an hour, maybe more. So, stay here and talk if you want to, I'm going to figure out what to do in the mean time. Feel free to leave, but I'll be back in five minutes." the producer stated then walked away. The sneezing mutant left as well, only he didn't plan on coming back. The 500 dollars he had received were good enough for him now. The woman with the clip board was still nearby if anyone had any questions.
Alex turned back to face Streak, and let out a sigh. "So... what do you do at the mansion?"
When Alex saw Emerald shaking her head after he had asked if she was an X-Man, he wondered if she was thinking he was going to treat her differently, like be in awe of her. If that was what she was thinking he was going to do, she was mistaken. If anything, it was going to make him feel uneasy. The X-Men helped support the law... and at the moment Alex wasn't exactly on the right side of it. Sure, he hadn't seen or heard of any warrants out for him, but he still had killed his own father. Sure it was an accident, but in the eyes of the law it's either you did it or you didn't do it, and Alex did it.
So when Emerald said yes to his question about her being an X-Man, Alex slightly bit his lower lip and started to drum his fingers on the armrest of the chair nervously. Sure she said that she was considered a benched X-Man, but an X-Man was still an X-Man. What's more was that she had stated that she was still doing her best to help others when ever she could. She seemed to shrug like it was no big deal, but at the moment Alex was feeling really uneasy, and he started to mentally pray that the myth that a wolf could smell fear was just that... a myth.
After being silent for a second or two, Alex realized that he was being quiet and spoke up, trying to get her attention off of the nervous look in his eyes. "Helping other that can't help themselves is something many people refuse to do. I glad to hear that you're still doing that even though you're taking time off as an X-Man." Alex stated with a smile, trying his best to look wide eyed and amazed at the fact that she was an X-Man.
He couldn't keep it up though, mainly because when Emerald had mentioned the camps a couple memories of a rather bad life experience bubbled up into Alex's thoughts. "The camps... that disaster should've never happened..." Alex mumbled just loud enough for Emerald to hear. During the time of the camps, Alex's sister in law, Sue, had realized that she had a mutation that put her in the teleporter category. She lived in Manhattan Kansas at the time, which was rather bad since an army fort was only an hour drive away. The army had captured Sue and was going to take her to one of the camps. In a desperate attempt to get their family member free, all 14 Keepers and Alex of the Davis family had given chase of the convoy transporting the captive mutants that Sue was held prisoner in, and attempted to rescue Sue at the camp though legal means and bribery. It ended in disaster when the mutants held captive rioted and the military opened fire. Every single mutant there had been killed, save for Sue whom had teleported to the safety of Alex's truck. The keepers and Alex had fled as fast as they could while the army butchered all of the mutants there. Not one keeper had been hurt and Sue was safe, but Alex had never been able to forget what happened that day.
A small tear fell from Alex's eye and ran down his cheek as he thought about it, and wished he could've done something to save those mutants... but he knew he would've only gotten himself and maybe all of the keepers killed. Wiping the tear from his cheek, he realized that he had almost cried right in front of Emerald, and quickly shook his head to get himself focused back on her. "I'm... I'm sorry. What were we talking about?"
Back in the cafe, the woman with the clip board had been waiting patiently for someone to ask her a question about the scene they were about to film, however it was clear that no one had any questions. Still, she had stood there motionless waiting for a question for a whole two minutes... though to Alex it felt like two hours. During the wait, another mutant whom had green skin and a white snake wrapped around her shoulders had walked in and taken a seat near April. She seemed to be a little disoriented from Alex's point of view, but then again who wasn't feeling a little disoriented at the moment?
When the woman with the clip board still didn't move after three minutes, Alex cleared his throat, a little louder then he meant to... and thanks to the voice filter he was wearing the sound was a bit robotic and static-like. The resulting sound made the woman jump and she quickly looked over at Alex while fumbling with her clip board. "Sorry! I zoned out when no one had any questions, didn't I?" the woman exclaimed as she started to smooth out the papers of her clipboard, and Alex nodded. "Yes ma'am, but I'm sure we've all done it. Anyways, I think most of us have a good idea what is going on in this scene. We have some private conversations to make some background noise while the lead actor and actress play out the scene of when they first meet." Alex stated, remembering what the woman had said before hand. The woman replied with a smile and a nod. "Yep. That's about it. I guess everyone here is ready. I'll go see if the lead actors are." The woman stated, and then she left.
A moment or two later a young man that was six feet tall with auburn hair and hazel eyes entered the café and took a seat at the blue table that was in the center of the café. He was dressed in a business suit, and had a newspaper under his arm which he was clearly going to be using as a prop. Standing outside the door was the actress, whom was clearly a mutant, since there were small black particles floating around her feet and made it look like she had a second shadow, and apparently she wasn’t going to be entering the place until after the director or producer shouted ‘action.’ Several stage hands entered the café and started to place plates of food and drinks in front of each extra. Alex got large sandwich with potato chips on the side with lemonade to drink. From this Alex guessed that the time of the day in the scene was supposed to be in the afternoon. Several extras had made some requests for different food items because they couldn’t digest what had been given to them. One of the extras, a young boy that looked like he was a living gold, had even requested a plateful of gold and that was provided! The golden boy was so over joyed to see this that he grabbed a gold coin off of the plate and popped it into his mouth, and quickly started to chew the coin with teeth that were easily capable of grinding through the valuable metal. Seeing this, Alex quickly looked up at the menu that was displayed over the counter and saw that in fact, a pile of gold was on the menu. Glancing back at the newspaper that the lead actor was holding in his hands, the newspaper’s date said that it was the year 1250. Clearly this movie was set in the future when mutants are more widely accepted and means to provide for the mutants of the future were going to be provided. This made Alex smile behind his voice filter. The producer’s movie was showing the producer’s vision of a perfect world while honestly showing that this vision wasn’t possible now, but could be later on.
With a small shrug, Alex turned back to his plate and drink, and noticed that the person that had been sitting between him and the man called Silver Streak had moved away and was heading out the door, holding his stomach as if he was having a medical problem. With a shrug, Alex moved over one chair and gave Streak a nod. ”If you know anything about the X-mansion, the two of us could talk about that for background noise.” Alex suggested quietly, his voice sounding robotic thanks to the voice filter. In the back corner of the café, the elderly man and his daughter were taking a seat as well; ready to play out their roles. The producer walked in and took a seat in front corner as a couple camera men came into the café and positioned their cameras. ”Quiet on the set. We’re about to begin.” he stated, and Alex complied with a nod, though his cyan eyes glowed green for a fraction of a second before they turned back to their normal cyan color.
