The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Drew glanced out the window closest to him. Yup, still horrible outside. Gee, how marvelous. Here he was at a school full of mutants and member of a hotshot team of same and not a darn one could fix the weather. No work today, Sam was handling his own paperwork and what not for a change. No point in heading out into the city either, with that rain out there. That left him at the mansion wandering aimlessly through the corridors. Heck he couldn't even bake since it wasn't nighttime yet. It was more a ritual now than any attempt to hide the fact that he baked. Baking was done at night and even though it looked sort of night-like out there he wasn't about to march into the kitchen and start making scones.
Judging by the students that remained at the school and the rest of the staff he wasn't the only one suffering from a bit of cabin fever.
As long as we avoid a crazed musical number.
Drew smirked at the thought as he paced yet another hallway. Thoughts of puppets and singing were dashed by the insistent tones of his communicator. In this case they remind him of Cafas, one of the other X-Trainees. Drew didn't know him very well but apparently, judging by the message, he'd found something X worthy to do. Maybe it would involve getting away from this abysmal weather?
"On my way." was said into the comm before Drew headed toward the offices. The journey didn't take long and Drew was there fairly quickly.
"Please tell me that whatever you've got involves getting away from this rain."
The comment left Drew's lips as soon as he entered the room. Instead of acquiring a chair he sat on a desk and waited for Shawn and the run down of this mission.

Unaware of the ruminations of the man behind him, Drew continued about the work that he'd been set. Orders were orders and when they came from his master they had to be obeyed. Gladly obeyed in this case. Chandler, the fat fool cried and whimpered and was thoroughly disgusted. Drew's face wrinkled up in an expression of that disgust. Human and an utter waste of that humanity at that. If it weren't necessary to properly punish the man Drew wouldn't want to soil his hands by touching him at all.
"That was an order, not a request, Chandler. Since you can't be bothered to cooperate I'll have to make you hurt."
Unlike his master Drew was not an expert at this and he had no implements he would make due with his fists. Drew made use of his fists and feet. They found easy targets on Chandler's soft flesh. He thought he might have even heard the crack of a bone somewhere in the barrage he unleashed on the helpless human.
"Not quite so pleasant is it? Being on the other side of the equation."
Drew finished off his performance by wrapping both hands around Chandler's neck and squeezing. He watched as the man struggled to breathe and only released him when Chandler was on the verge of unconsciousness.
"Now Chandler, I'll tell you again. Promise me you'll escape within a minute and I won't have to hurt you again."
The question in Drew's mind, apart from wondering how much more Chandler could take, was whether the fool would respond to the pain and do as he was told or continue to whine and cry in a vain attempt at eliciting sympathy from the devil.

Drew was not fond of guns. In fact he rather hated the devilish inventions. They snuffed out lives far too easily. It took more willpower than Drew thought he had not to flinch as the weapon held in the madman's hand spat out two bullets. His expression visibly darkened as the child's life was cut short before her parents' very eyes. It was quite possible that the parents would hate him later, since the madman attributed his murder of their child to Drew's cavalier attitude. It was something he was trying not to blame himself for. At least, not until he'd killed the man that had pulled the trigger.
That thought stopped his mental processes short. Kill? No, even though the guy was a crazy axe murderer Drew wouldn't kill him. It wasn't a responsibility he could step up and take. Not while remaining sane. Focusing back on the task at hand, Drew leveled a gaze at their captor. He wouldn't give him the satisfaction. So he smirked even though his eyes were cold.
"I wouldn't get to attached to that thing. I'm going to pry it from your fingers before this is over. My name is Vic McClane."
Drew wasn't bothering to pay much attention to the bound woman at this point. He was more concerned with that gun and how soon he could take it off of the guy holding it. For that matter he wasn't watching his partner in bondage, and wasn't that a thought for later, either. So his weak sounding taunt was a surprise when it reached Drew's ear. It did back up what Drew was attempting to do though so he said nothing, just smirked at their warden as though he agreed with the statement wholeheartedly.

This guy was one heck of a ham, strutting up and down his self appointed stage. If he thought he was impressive or terrifying then Drew had news for him. He was about as scary as a fluffy little duckling in his eyes. So when the man whirled on him for speaking and pointed the gun flush between his eyes Drew did not flinch. He stared down the barrel dispassionately.
"Ask all you want, fella. I think I prefer to keep talking."
The situation wasn't a good one, his snarking aside. Frankly Drew was tired of ending up in situations like this. So that could possibly explain the tone he took with their captor. A captor that casually ordered one minion to kill the other and the killed the remaining man without even a flinch. A man who, if the earlier strutting was to be believed, had already killed one innocent. Drew would have to get out of these cuffs and get that gun away the crazy guy.
"Well I'll start, my wonderful host, I'm Vic McClane. Great to meet ya."
The burst of angry Spanish directed at Crazy Guy alerted Drew that his pew-mate was awake and not exactly happy. The glare drew nothing but a raised eyebrow.
"Well you got wasted by the smell of it and this guy's minions, who are dead now by the way, nabbed you. Seems we've been forcibly invited to a wedding."

Gargoyle's comment cut straight through the puppy mindset and Drew flinched both inwardly and outwardly. Rationally speaking he knew that what he'd done all that time ago was necessary. Being called a killer, even in that cutesy wutesy playful tone, still struck a little closer than he liked. All too soon however Gina was trying to play with him again and Drew got back into form. After all, Gargoyle had a toy of sorts! The toy was there and then it disappeared!
"Rrrruff!" he exclaimed as he whirled about to face the dastardly toy that disappeared and tapped his leg! It thought it could get away! Not on his watch.
"Grrrrrr."
Drew darted forward to seize the evil bottle. Oh sure he could resist the puppy-like urges to play but frankly he didn't want to. This was so much better than having his mind clouded up with all those promises. It was a lot simpler and more fun. The gargoyle's question about who he belonged to had Drew smirking to himself. Even more so when the fuzzy windbag answered.
Taller than strictly necessary? Really? Fuzzybritches was reaching for that one. Maybe he'd give the guy a break for a moment or two. Especially since Gargoyle was so interested in playing with him!

Boyfriend? Where?! Drew's head whipped back and forth as he looked for this boyfriend that Tubba's buddies mentioned to no avail. The liars. He turned back to them just as one of the guys grabbed his shirt.
"Whoa! That's not real friendly."
Was that a fist? Yup, pretty sure it was. Darn. With the guy's fist in the front of his shirt and his mind clouded by alcohol, Drew did the first thing that came to mind. He abandoned the shirt. Lifting his arms up Drew slid out of the shirt just in time for the punch to go sailing clean over his head.
"Now fellas, best not get carried a-away!"
Drew was silent for a beat.
"And c-can I have mah shirt back?"
The frowns on the men's faces said no. Drew pouted and wobbled in place just in time to miss getting kicked. When he put his hands out to steady himself he ended up shoving one of the guys away. No avoiding a fight now. Drew balled up a fist and took aim at one of the guys face's.

The fries would not last until he got back to the Mansion. Drew was sure of that. They were fresh and hot and would be all soggy by the time he managed the walk back to the Mansion from McGeneric's Burger Castle.
Yeah, Drew had been up late as usual and decided that a late night burger run was just what the Doc Prof ordered. Maybe not in so many words since Drew hadn't willingly gone into the man's domain in months but Drew thought it was implied at least. So he'd walked, because he didn't feel like firing up his car at this time of night just for a burger, all the way to the nearest McGeneric's and gotten himself a burger, fries, and one of those shakes with the candy bits in it. It was chocolate.
With his bag of deliciously unhealthy food clutched in one hand and the shake in the other Drew was coming up on the church he'd passed on the way out. Except there seemed to be some activity this time. A guy carrying a woman into the church and from what Drew could see she wasn't conscious. Drew frowned as his do gooder tendencies acted up. There was no way he could just walk by now.
"Guy better have enough cash to buy me new fries. These will be disgusting by the time I get done here."
With a few more mutterings to that effect, Drew followed the man into the church.
"Hey! Is she alright?"
Benefit of the doubt first. Mind you that was before he saw the hostages and various implements meant to restrain people and did he mention the thugs? Greaaaat.
"Yeah, I think I want you to let her go now. And them too."
A dismissive nod of the head was all the guy carrying the lady gave him in response. The thugs responded immediately though. The burger and fries went flying first as Drew dodged a punch. The shake followed immediately after, spilling out on the church floor. On the bright side though the valiant shake did not give up it's life in vain. One of the thugs slipped on it as they lunged for Drew again. He might have won if they hadn't managed to flank him. Just for the sake of appearance Drew struggled as they dragged him over to a pew and handcuffed him there.
The thugs left after that and returned some time later with a guy that was out like a light and smelled like a Mexican dive bar. Drew's nose wrinkled as they cuffed the two of them together.
"Just great. And me without my phone or com." he muttered.
Now he had to get out of here, rescue the girl, rescue the hostages, and do so with some random Joe strapped to him. The lady woke up finally at about the same time as Sleeping Beauty did.
"Good morning. Hope you slept well."
Drew was unable to keep all of the sarcastic lilt out of his voice.

Drew laughed uproariously as Duck smeared sauce on her cheek where he'd poked it. She laughed and he laughed and everyone laughed! Well they should have anyway because it was funny. The big guy, Drew had decided to call him Tubba, wasn't laughing. He gave up the three hundred bucks though and Drew hastily grabbed it 'cus Tubba looked sorta red. Maybe he'd explode and Drew didn't want all that perfectly good money wasted. While Drew was shoving the money into his wallet Duck was noisily celebrating. And she should! Because Team Awesome had won. Drew grinned crookedly at Duck.
Before Drew could respond Tubba got angry and shouted and then he was going stiff and Duck grabbed his hand and dragged him out of the bar and Tubba's friends were following them!
"Uh Duck? What did you do?! That guy just went thud!"
Drew's beer clouded mind couldn't fathom what he normally would have immediately chalked up to some sort of mutation. It didn't matter much because they were running and Tubba's friends had just popped out of the door of the bar. They stared around for a few seconds before following Drew and Duck.
"We've got f...friends!"
Drew remembered that he could move under his own power then and snatched his arm away from Duck so that he could face the two guys that were chasing them.

Shortly after Drew started in on his platter of wings Duck seemed inspired to start on hers with a voraciousness that was amazing! Score one for Team Awesome! Drew had inspired Duck to carry on with the challenge by his own example! Not only that but they were soon winning. Drew ate at a steady pace but no where near as quickly as Duck. Duck was an eating machine! Drew was suitably awed by Duck as they ate their way to some cash. By the time she was clearing her 8th or 9th platter Drew was on his 6th. Together though they were still outdoing the man that Duck had challenged.
The guy might have noticed it too. But that might have just been gas or something. Drew couldn't tell. Either way he was left to grin when Duck pointed out that he had something on his cheek.
"Hwell that's obvious yeah? Mean this is a..eatin' contest. Course I got something on mah face."
Drew leaned over real close to Duck's face.
"You got sa..sauce on yer face too ya know."
He poked her cheek.
"Right there."
At this point the waitress brought him a new platter of wings and Drew leaned back into his seat to keep eating. They had to beat this guy. They were Team Awesome!

He was free. In this he was free to do as he pleased to the piece of filth hanging before him. Drew was practically giddy at Martin's pronouncement. So eager was he that he was able to brush off the closeness of the man's voice and breath with ease. Chandler, the piece of meat, was his focus for the moment. Drew strode forward with purpose and circled the man. After a minute or so of this he spoke in a calm, conversational tone.
"You know you are really quite fortunate."
Drew stilled in front of Chandler's face and seized it with one hand about the chin. With this grip he pulled the man closer to him even as he stepped in. They were quite close when he ceased pulling and held the man still. The chain was slightly angled and the muscles that Martin's orders had helped build could be seen at work to keep the man where he was.
"I'm no where near as skilled at this as he is. That is personal experience talking, not modesty. I'm rather familiar with pain but he can still reduce me to something little better than you if he desires to."
Drew grinned widely once more.
"Still, punishment must be served so I shall endeavor to do what I can. I'm my own sort of monster. So, I have a little challenge for you. You'll promise me something, and I won't hurt you."
He released his grip on the man and watched him swing back into place. Drew examined the purported 'man' in front of him before making his demand.
"Promise me that you will escape within the next minute, and I won't hurt you."

Drew's tongue was in agreement with Andrea's the moment the sauce hit it. But funny thing about being drunk, it messed with you something fierce. The scalding sensation that he would normally avoid as unpleasant barely registered to Drew as he tucked into his plate. Andy was counting on him after all! She didn't seem like she'd be eating much so it was up to him to uphold the honor of the team! Hmmm, if they were a team then they needed a team name. And nicknames! Because all teams were better with nicknames! The X-Men were proof! Sam? Laaaaaaaame. Cold Steel? Much more awesome. Maya and Gawain? Booooring. Mirror? Exciting!
But what to call the team? Drew pondered that as he ate. And he pondered. And he pondered. Why he pondered his way through an entire plate of ribs. As he set down the last bone from that plate it struck him. Team Awesome! Because they were an awesome team. Yeah! Now nicknames....
Well he couldn't very well nickname himself. So he'd have to nickname Andrea and then wait until she nicknamed him. And he pondered her nickname for a while too. At least TWICE as long as he pondered the team name. Just like the team name, it came to him in a flash of inspiration. Andrea was Duck. It was just perfect. There could be no other nickname for her! Drew flashed the newly nicknamed Duck a grin. Now that they had a team name and at least one nick name they would totally win this. Team Awesome couldn't lose!

Drew simply smirked as Rebecca protested that he'd better not tease her.
"Now why would I tease you? I bet you look simply stunning in costume."
He was laying it a trifle thick and he knew it but Rebecca seemed to enjoy it. The date might as well be enjoyable since he didn't plan on making it a repeat performance. She was cute but so far he wasn't much interested beyond that. As Rebecca related the tale of meeting Gina, Drew grinned. That sounded like Gina. The girl he considered something of an unofficial little sister was very kind and energetic like that. For a moment he thought about relating the tale of his own meeting with Gina but then thought better of it. It wasn't the most pleasant tale and at least one part included the short bout of mental instability he'd gone through during the changing of his mutation. So it was better not to mention it.
Come to think of the way he'd met Agnes was the same. Despite her closeness with Gina, Drew didn't really know the girl that well. Drew gave a mental shrug over that and moved on at about the same time Rebecca changed topics. He smiled as she thanked him for the flower.
"I just thought it would be nice. Truthfully I haven't dated much myself. I'm just making it up as I go along."
That sounded like a nice excuse for any nervousness of hers. Or his. Not that he was nervous but it was a date. The last time he'd had anything similar had been Tasean. Drew forcefully pushed aside the uncomfortable emotions that brought up. There would be no thinking about that man. Not tonight.
He looked over the menu as Rebecca ordered and spotted a sampler platter of various sushi rolls and what not. He ordered that once the waiter was ready to take his order. After the waiter shuffled off to give the orders to the chef, Drew relaxed back into his seat.
