The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was probably the hair color that did it. He'd colored it pink today on a whim. Without seeing his face and being unfamiliar with him in general Drew assumed it'd be pretty easy to get the two of them mixed up. So he just grinned at the girl that called him Cafas and tugged on his sleeve. She was a new one. He hadn't met her before. Then again there were bound to be plenty of new ones around since his abrupt departure. The brunette barely came up to his chest. Probably fairly young.
"Quite alright miss. I probably should have chosen a different color for today anyway."
Dropping his bag on the floor Drew bowed to the young woman. It was only proper after all.
"It's a pleasure to meet you miss. I am Andrew Leroy but you may call me Drew. I am just returned from a journey."
He straightened up and glanced around the foyer again before recalling where he was. Ooopsie. Hopefully the young miss wouldn't mind so much. Heck if it appealed to her he may well keep up with the courtly manners and talk. It'd be a fun way to ease back into his place here at the Mansion.

It was always something wasn't it? One day it might be cultists trying to unleash a demon god on the world and then the next the evil empire next door has declared war. Not today though. No, today Drew had the distinct pleasure of taking part in an epic battle of good versus evil. Arrayed against him was a combination of orcs, dragons, goblins, and other foul things whose stench alone could beseige a castle. It was probably the orcs. They never bathed and ate some of most disgusting things imaginable. Drew wrinkled his nose briefly. Battles were bad enough when they didn't stink to the high heavens.
Not that he was fighting alone. Facing an army of hundreds, perhaps thousands, on his own would be suicide. King Sam had brought his army when notified of the threat. In fact the man himself was taking part in the battle. Well, he would do after he stopped ogling his voluptuous bodyguards. Not far from the king stood the elven archer Mirror. Darn good shot but Drew had never quite figured out whether it was a man or a woman. Mirror hadn't ever parted with it's real name either so he couldn't judge by that.
Last but not least was fair Princess Calley. She was quite beautiful until she opened her mouth. Calley was unfortunately smart mouthed and rebellious to boot. It was her smart mouth that had started the war that led to this battle. Of course the lady had paid for it. One of the enemy warlocks had bestowed a curse most foul upon the dazzling woman. In times of crisis her body would twist and morph into that of a hideous dog. The tragedy had not dulled the maiden's tongue at all though.
After the usual shows of force and what not from both sides the battle began. Drew had little time to keep tabs on his allies as he was swamped by orcs and goblins nearly immediately. He severed limbs and removed heads as swiftly and efficiently as he could. Occasionally he heard the sound of one of the Mirror's arrows whistling past him. There were also more than a few frozen fiends lurking about the battlefield signalling that the king had been busy as well. Just as the tide was beginning to turn an ominous roar rung out over the battlefield and Drew awoke from his dream.
It really was an excellent decision to take a taxi here. Saved Drew any number of hassles. He removed his bag from the back and paid the driver before heading up to the gates and onto the mansion grounds. It was good to be home. It felt like he'd been away for a lifetime. Slinging the bag over his shoulder, Drew headed on into the mansion to see what his returning would bring about.

Drew listened to Becca's news attentively. It was a mixed bag really. He was certainly glad to hear that she was in college and having her as a fellow X was great. However it was a shame that she and Agnes hadn't worked out.
"Well I'm glad to hear about the college and it's great to have you on the team. Shame about you and Agnes though."
He knew well enough not to dwell on the issue. Breakups were always difficult and unless Becca wanted to dive into the nitty gritty of it with him Drew wouldn't mention it further. Instead he just nodded when she mentioned it being a busy time of change. It was indeed. Readjusting was difficult for Drew. You didn't have to sleep with a weapon nearby at all times here. He did wonder how much of the skills he'd developed had stayed with him. It was something to test in the Danger Room later.
"Anything major happen at the Mansion? I know I took off pretty hastily last month."
Better to go in with some info so that he wasn't completely shocked.

Drew wanted to ask Becca what she meant but he was standing up and fishing out his wallet from his back pocket.
"Hold that thought Becca and I'll be back shortly."
Whatever it was it seemed he wasn't the only person to have issues recently. Frankly that didn't surprise him at all. Drama was a common occurrence in Mansion life. Perhaps just mutant life in general. Whatever had happened to Becca, he'd be there for her. Once again he waited through the line, this time ordering some chicken noodle soup and returned to the table a few minutes later bearing a steaming paper carton of soup and a plastic spoon. Setting them down in from of Becca, Drew put away his wallet and sat back down.
"And there we go. As for my travels they were...interesting."
That was definitely an understatement. He had gotten a bit of real traveling done. In fact most of his time had been spent that way. It was only the past day or so that was different.
"Anyway, enough about me. What happened?"
Because realistically, while Becca may have missed him someone only said something like that if something had gone wrong that they'd wished you had been there to help with.

As Becca mentioned the last meal he'd treated her to Drew remembered said meal. It had been an interesting night but it was clear by the end of it that Becca's interests certainly weren't geared toward him. Even after she'd kissed him.
"I remember it. Sushi and a kiss later. I have to say you certainly know how to greet a fella."
Drew smirked and winked at Becca. Then he glanced over at the menu boards to refresh his memory.
"Yeah they sell chili and a soup of the day. Today's is..." Drew craned his neck to see around a rather expansive man standing in line, "chicken noodle likes like."
When Becca asked what he'd been doing since leaving the Mansion Drew smiled. He wasn't ready to talk about most of it. Not at all. Drew wanted to come to terms with it himself before he revealed anything particular.
"Oh you know, just the usual soul searching stuff. Traveled around. Learned things. Nothing special."
Hopefully Becca wouldn't mind the lie when she found out the truth later.

It was a good sandwich. The coffee wasn't bad either. Drew was glad that his memory hadn't failed him in thinking this place was good. Unfortunately he only had time for a few bites of the sandwich when his meal was disrupted by a swiftly moving red head that halfway tackled him out of his seat. It was only through luck and some coordination that he managed to remain upright. The voice was a familiar one but it was incredibly difficult to focus on anything when there was a rather perky set of breasts occupying most of your vision.
Drew could certainly appreciate the view as he was hugged nigh to death by the red haired apparition. An apparition whose name he remembered to be Rebecca. When last he'd seen her she'd been an awkward Irish girl just settling into the Mansion. This was certainly a change of attire for her. Though he was glad to see that she'd become more sure of herself Drew detached the eager ginger from himself.
"Good to see you too Becca. You've certainly changed a bit since I saw you last. Want something to drink or eat? I'll pay."
The outfit she was wearing didn't seem quite appropriate for the season to him but it wasn't his place to judge. At least that was what he told himself to keep from reaching over and zipping that coat up himself. Drew was well aware that women could get away with less. However after his experiences while he was away he was used to attire that covered more. Getting used to his old life again would take longer than he'd thought.

He hadn't eaten in hours. It felt like days even. Drew had never trusted airplane food and he hadn't been willing to start doing so on his way home. As a result he made a brief detour into the city itself to get himself something to eat before showing his face in the Mansion again. He wasn't avoiding the Mansion so much as he'd rather not show up on an empty stomach. It would be embarrassing, if comical, for his stomach to protest loudly while he was making his return.
The line in the deli he'd picked wasn't too bad. Drew stuck his hands in his pockets while the person ahead of him ordered a reuben. He'd had quite the trip and come back better for it. At least he thought he had. Not that he intended to admit what had happened to the folks at the Mansion straight away. Mutations could do a lot of strange stuff but two alternative lives in that short a space was a bit much.
Drew dismissed his thoughts. Thinking about both of those lives left him a bit sad and this was going to be a happy day. After a very long time he'd be returning to his home and friends. Hopefully there wouldn't have been too much change in the time he'd been away. Finally it was his turn at the counter. Drew ordered a club sandwich and a cup of coffee. Once they were done he retreated to a corner of the smallish shop to eat his meal. He wanted to be done swiftly. There was a large home full of people he hadn't seen in a lifetime waiting on him.

He almost sighed. When put on the spot Kaitlyn wasn't providing anything close to a decent reason for Allison to ignore her presence here. From what he could tell Allison knew that too. Styx made a judgement call and began picking a careful and moreover quiet route closer to the two ladies. If something were to go down between the two of them, or Allison should simply decide to tell the rest of the Amazons, then it would be better if he were closer at hand to swiftly intervene. Styx avoided as much of the debris underfoot as he could while he moved cautiously forward.
There were plenty of well hidden spots nearby that afforded him a better response time. It would be better if it didn't come to that. Styx wasn't entirely sure he'd be able to make a decision between the two in a swift enough fashion. Rationally he knew that it would be better to side with Kaitlyn against Allison.
But Drew missed the storm funerals, apple gods, and unwilling trips to art fairs.

Styx had perked up as the encounter continued. Kaitlyn wasn't quite up to lying smoothly to Allison. It was easy to read the lies in her manner and speech and then she compounded it by diving for the note. Styx shook his head. He was loathe to attack Allison. Strange as she'd been she had still survived and that was something. He didn't want to attack her. However if his hand was forced he'd have to defend the church's interests somehow.
Kaitlyn's spur of the moment acknowledgement of Allison's undoubtedly sarcastic comment forced Styx's lips to tug upward at the corners for a moment. That was one way of going about it. Though he did wonder just who she thought she could use for the patsy in that scheme.

First off this isn't a notice of absence persay. I'll still be around when I can. However as I'm sure you've noticed my hours here have been erratic and will probably continue to be that way for a little while. On the 7th my mother is having a knee replacement and I'll be helping take care of her when she comes home. On the 20th of this month I pick up a couple of college courses to add to my schedule. Of course once my mother recovers sufficiently from her surgery things should even out a bit. Until then I'll be around when I can and try to post when I can.
This affects Andrew Leroy, Cosmina Walker, and Dahlia Lenser

That voice...Styx had not realized that she'd survived, let alone joined the Amazons. Yet another remnant of his old life back to haunt him and she was still as strange as the day he'd met her in a park holding a funeral for a storm. Drew almost wanted to go down there and ask her how the apple gods were faring. However Styx thought it much better to remain where he was and observe, no matter how his heart twinged at the thought of having to hurt Allison to keep Kaitlyn's secret.

In another lifetime he'd sat in this building and studied frantically for tests. Now Styx walked it in a haze of nostalgia. His purpose for coming here had been to pass a message to Kaitlyn. The fellow immortal had infiltrated the Amazons and was doing what she could to abate their destructiveness with targets that could fight back. Targets that wouldn't be missed. It was a goal he approved of. Not necessarily because it helped others. More because it ensured that the Amazons were less of a threat. He could care less about the people they hit so long as they weren't with the church.
But Death had been given the task of ferrying messages back and forth. Maybe it was because he was out of the church so often. Maybe Sebastian just thought he needed to help out a little more. Whatever the reason he'd made the journey to NYU to deliver the next target. Kaitlyn would be along soon to pick it up and he would leave after she left. Styx intended to check on the town on his way back. Gina was there and he wanted to make sure she was doing well.
Behind the crumbling ruin of a bookshelf Styx observed Kaitlyn as she retrieved the note and read about the group with the ridiculous name. Then again she was undercover in a group called "The Amazons". The sound of the rock bouncing caught his ears at the nearly the same time as Kaitlyn's. Styx frowned, though it wasn't visible in the darkness of his hood much less behind the scarf he always wore. Either it was an animal in the rubble or the younger immortal had been followed. Styx tensed for a possible confrontation and continued his observation.
