The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Agatha snarled, watching the few people who attempted to approach her from across the garage. She didn’t care who they were, but they would fall. Each of them were ragged, twitching, shaking, already the fear was seeping deeper and deeper into them. They weren’t going to make it much farther. All they needed was one more little push and any opposition against the arrival of her masters would finally topple. The world would be opened and free for them to enter and take root within the wasteland of this planet. The end would come and it would all be because of these three sisters.
The protector surged forward, a blight upon this world. No one would be able to stand against it, or at least that was what Agatha thought. Watching as her guardian threatened the last shreds of sanity for the gathered troop, it didn’t escape her attention that each of these people were exhibiting power that not only threatened the area, but herself as well. Lightning crackled, objects flew, people disappeared too and fro. It was becoming too much to keep up with.
Her guardian lurched forward as Agatha watched. One which vanished in and out of sight appeared near again, driving a knife into her side. The one who wanted a way home was slowly being overtaken by her minions, mindless husks which only wanted to spill blood. The last, the most powerful seeming, was away, winds and light encircling him threateningly. It was him that Agatha needed to knock out of the sky before it was too late. Agnes put as much force into her fear generation as she could, delving deep into everyones’ mind, seeking out those last little morsels of hope he held onto and extinguishing them with a flick of her fingers and hoping to drive them out of the structure. Sadly, it would seem that the action itself would result in a rather unexpected surprise.
Agnes gasped, feeling the air suddenly taste electrified. There was a crack of ozone as lightning flashed through the open air, towards her. A thunder boom shook too close to home. She stumbled, her guardian flickered. Her guardian roared in anger as perceived pain ripped through out its body due to the bolt of lightning. Of course the creature was only an extension of Agatha and made of little more than smoke and mirrors. Once the bolt collided with concrete, Agatha shouted, feeling the explosion knock her off her feet and sending her backwards, into a parked car.
”OMPH! NO!!” she shouted. She cringed, grabbing her leg which was spider-veined from electricity. Her eyes flared brighter as her beast began to vanish from sight. ”WE CANNOT FAIL!!!” Her eyes as bright as miniature suns, Agatha mentally reached out to her sisters, pulling and adding their power to her own and vice versa, making their abilities threefold. They would show these people true horrors with One. Last. Push!
Silence filled the air that is until the psychedelic rip in space high above the city ripped wide and open. From the heavens (now hell) the cosmic horrors descended upon the earth. The end had come.

Agnes sweated as she watched the madness overtake those few people who attempted to approach her from the park. This wasn’t the plan. Each of them were ragged, twitching, shaking, already the fear was seeping deeper and deeper into them, a small relief to her.
No one would be able to stand against it, or at least that was what Agnes thought. Watching as her guardian threatened the last shreds of sanity for the gathered troop, it didn’t escape her attention that one still stood up against her, or rather, flew? Her nostrils flared at the demon’s defiance. Everyone else crumbled, why wouldn’t he?
>>"Hey, you! I'm talking to you! Whaddya say!?"
He shouted towards her. He set the grounds aflame. Children willing moved towards her, seeking to protect her, not caring that the fires were so close. Their will was only to protect her. But these interlopers, well, Agnes put as much force into her fear generation as she could, delving deep into demon’s mind, seeking out those last little morsels of hope he held onto and extinguishing them with a flick of her fingers. Sadly, it would seem that the action itself would result in a rather unexpected surprise.
Agnes gasped, feeling the entire jungle gym she stood upon and shake underneath her. She stumbled, her guardian flickered, and suddenly there was a sound of angry metal grinding against metal. Her guardian roared in anger as perceived pain ripped through out its body. Of course the creature was only an extension of Agnes and made of little more than smoke and mirrors. She turned and watched as a lamppost, lifted by another, was being used to bat at the beast, swiping through it, and slamming against the playground equipment. The second that the beast was struck, it passed through, sending sand, flaming wood, and bits of metal through the air, several bits come close to running the witch. Unable to hold her footing on the structure, Agnes toppled off with a crash into the smoldering woodchips and cringe.
”OMPH! NO!!” she shouted. She cringed, grabbing her leg. Her eyes flared brighter as her beast began to vanish from sight. ”WE CANNOT FAIL!!!” Her eyes as bright as miniature suns, Agnes mentally reached out to her sisters, pulling and adding their power to her own and vice versa, making their abilities threefold. Abigail cackled as she watched the madness overtake those few people who attempted to claim a position atop the hotel. Each of them were ragged, twitching, shaking, already the fear was seeping deeper and deeper into them. They weren’t going to make it much farther. He shouted into the dark. Sadly, it would seem that the action itself would result in a rather unexpected surprise.
Abigail gasped, feeling the entire roof pull and shake underneath her. She stumbled, her guardian flickered, and suddenly there was an explosion of angry metal biting into the dead air. Her guardian roared in anger as perceived pain ripped through out its body. Of course the creature was only an extension of Abigail and made of little more than smoke and mirrors. The second that shrapnel struck it, it passed through, several bits come close to running the witch through. One, maybe two, managed to find home within her leg, sending her sprawling across the concrete with a shout.

Poseidon knew talent when he saw it and, with Aura, he certainly saw talent. She was vicious, a real go-getter and believer in the mutant cause. People like that Jorge appreciated because he knew just how valuable they could be to his operations. They were loyal, they followed orders, and yet they were able to take the initiative when they needed to. In many ways, the woman reminded him of Duke, his most loyal. Aura would certainly be an excellent addition to the Syndicate, specifically with her being from another world, a concept that got the wheels of his mind turning.
So the offer was made. He essentially viewed the SUPER agent butchery back there as her initiation and, if so, she certainly passed with flying colors. But did she even want to take him up on his offer? If she did, well, he could certainly just send her on her merry way. Certainly it would not be wise to set someone loose with knowledge of his operation, but aside from their chat, she didn’t know enough to really pose him any threat. As it would turn out, though, she seemed to have already come to a descision.
>>"I would like that very much…”
He smiled and dipped his his in acknowledgement. She went on to explain her life before, how she had lived life as a soldier, denied orders, and watched as she and her people paid the price for it. Truly it was tragic, but it also turned into a lesson for the young woman. She wouldn’t go against orders and she would do what it took to ensure the safety of her kind. To that, the man was most eternally grateful.
With a pleasant smile, Jorge held his hand out to her, in a kindly, accepting way. To anyone passing, he would have appeared like a grandparent or older uncle offering his congratulations to a younger family member; that was what the Syndicate was...it was family. Careful he would shake the woman’s hand, before covering it with his over and giving her one more firmer shake.
”Then, my dear,” he said softly. ”Welcome to the Syndicate.”

Jorge had to be careful around Kalos and remember that she didn’t come from the same world that he did. Like a child, there were certain things that he would have to take special care in explaining, because she may not understand the concepts right away. The look in her eyes told him that she had no idea how to measure half-an-hour, so he went with a different tactic. The timer he pulled up should be a good enough measure of time for her because it would beep to show that the cake was ready. Time, of course, would be taught to her, but better for it to be from someone who actually knew how to teach kids.
Kalos seemed to take to this explanation far easier than the trying to explain minutes and hours.
>>"We had water clocks. I know there is a thing called sundial, but with the Mad King in charge of our days and our nights when we were under water, he did not do a most careful job to follow a day for the long or short of it. Clepsydra has water flowing and a drip and a floating arrow that rises to show the moments flowing..."
Jorge didn’t know much about what she was speaking of, however, it certainly did seem as if the same basic concept was there. So she did have some idea as to the passage of time, which was good! At least he wouldn’t have to be reinventing the wheel. Besides, waiting for the box to beep was probably far easier for the young Atlantean rather than trying to show her the hands of a clock. And, in the meantime, they could busy themselves with cleaning up.
He tried to dismiss her, to tell her that she could go and relax, but the young mutant clearly did not want to leave his side yet. That was why he offered her a job, if she wanted it. She could help him clean. She seemed a little unsure of whether or not she wanted to, but in the end, relented as she meekly asked for a different aspect of the work.
>>"Can... I dry?"
He nodded, a sweet smile on his lips. ”Of course you can.” Grabbing a pair of dish towels from a nearby rack, Jorge moved over to the sink, bringing Kalos and her chair closer so that she was within reach. Once they were both settled, he turned on the water to a decent temperature and started to soak the bowls, spoons, and utensils, making them nice and sudsy. As he did so, he glanced to Kalos, smirking as he handed her a small bowl that he had just washed out. ”Thank you for your help today, Kalos. I appreciated it.”

The great rift was happening, or at least in the eyes of everyone affected by the smoke it was. Looking up, Agnes focused in the task at hand, needing to keep at the ready for the most expected of events, but she could help but admire what her and her sisters were doing. This was exactly what they wanted, what they believed would be coming. It was a blessing to share this vision with the rest of the world, or at least those people now enlightened by their presence. Truly it would be a bone-chilling sight, but that was what this world needed, a reminder of just exactly how small they were.
Though she could see that her sister was interrupted by a new individual, one brave enough to stand up to her and the horrors from beyond the darkness, Agnes had her own problems to deal with. A small troupe in the park, those resisting her influence, or at least trying to, were becoming problematic. She could hear them as they crossed the park, following the children who had formed the army around her. When one of the individuals approached, a man dressed like a Scottish warrior. He began to shout.
>>"You, this is all you. You're the crazy b---- calling them through."
Pest.
She narrowed her eyes at the advancing group. They were crumbling. All they needed was one more push to ensure that they would no longer pose a problem. So called out to Scottish leader. ”Are you a god?” she shouted in defiance. ”If not, then die!”
Another pulse of her terrible power and suddenly the smoke began to take shape in front of the gathered individuals. The beast was terrible. The shape was unlike anything that had been seen before. It looked like the most primordial of terrors, a long, winding, shapeless mass that possessed hundreds of fang-filled mouths, all pointed in different directions, and wrapping around the jungle gym that she stood atop of. The beast was massive and moved with suck fluidity it seemed more like a membrane wrapped around putrid mixture of flesh, blood, and fluids. The mouths didn’t help any as they gnashed teeth and roared in defiance towards all corners of the park.
Agnes barely saw it, but she felt the presence of another one, one extremely fast. With only a thought, the undulating beast firmly wrapped around the playground set, blocking any from getting close and merely continued and snap and anything that moved. Her protector set, her army in place, Agnes raised her eyes. The ritual would be completed!

The great rift was happening, or at least in the eyes of everyone affected by the smoke it was. Looking up, Agatha licked her chapped lips at the vision of what she and her sisters have been holding onto for years. This was exactly what they wanted, what they believed would be coming. It was a blessing to share this vision with the rest of the world, or at least those people now enlightened by their presence. Truly it would be a bone-chilling sight, but that was what this world needed, a reminder of just exactly how small they were.
Though she could see that her sister was interrupted by a new individual, one brave enough to stand up to her and the horrors from beyond the darkness, Agatha had her own problems to deal with. The people in the parking garage, those resisting her influence, or at least trying to, were coming more and more dangerous. She could hear the storm forming in the parking garage and the sounds of madness coming from all around her. Lightning flashed, the winds picked up, cars were hurled about like toys. The cacophony was quite annoying now.
Pest.
She narrowed her eyes at the advancing group. They were crumbling. All they needed was one more push to ensure that they would no longer pose a problem. So called out to them. ”Are you a god?” she shouted in defiance. ”If not, then die!”
Another pulse of her terrible power and suddenly the smoke began to take shape in front of the gathered individuals. The beast was terrible. The creature barely seemed to fit inside of the structure, but it moved with such ethereal fluidity that it seemed to faze in and out of existence. It was large, globular, and stood on twenty, thirty squant trunks it used for legs. Each one slammed down into the concrete, shaking the floor. Hundreds of eyes covered its body, all bloodshot and malevolent as tendrils whipped and lashed on all sides. The most terrifying feature, however, was the massive, singular, humanoid face that leered out at all the would-be heroes. Its mouth open, revealing a slithering, massive tongue with another eye at the end, and the beast moved forward.
The weather manipulator was busy causing extreme havoc and even as he sent a wave of lighting to all areas, nearly killed several of his comrades, the winds and lightning didn’t touch Agatha. Her behemoth guardian, a creature born of nightmares took the brunt of the attack. It hissed wildly, spittle and sludge spewing from its mouth, as it roared at the offensive strike. Another stomp and the beast stepped forward, pushing through the maddening people still thrashing about, most singed and burned to a crisp. It was going to take more than a storm to stop it...

Pest.
>>"One chance to stop this. Come quietly. There's no need for-No need for violence."
She smirked. Already she was getting to him. So she shrugged innocently, yet tinged with impish glee. ”Are you a god?” she asked with added reverberation in her voice. ”If not, then die!”
Another pulse of her terrible power and suddenly the smoke began to take shape in front of the hammer holding mutant. The beast was terrible. A massive creature the size of a bus but with an undulating form. It looked like a glob of tar with several arms, hands covered in claws, grasping outward to rend flesh from bone. Several mouths, filled with fangs slobbered and dripped with greenish ooze, and a crop of tendrils lashed menacingly from its back. The beast turned his grapefruit-sized, emerald eyes onto the thunder god and sloshed towards him. He would not stop the ritual!

Kalos had worked hard to get her cake set up and she showed real bravery in working with technology that she had no knowledge of in the past. That being said, she deserved a reward for her actions and, thus, he offered her a glob of the frosting she assisted in making for her to sample. Kalos seemed to have a real sweet tooth, especially for chocolate, so he hoped that one made from scratch would be a welcome treat for her.
It, apparently, was.
>>"It is soooo sweet. The best chocolate I have ever had in my life."
He chuckled. ”You’re very kind. I’m glad that you enjoy it. But you helped too so good for you.” He smiled warmly as he continued to turn the frosting over in the bowl. It was good but it needed to chill for a little so that it could be placed on the cake with perfection. So, grabbing some plastic wrap, he placed the protective film across the top of the bowl and set it aside while he explained to Kalos would it would be used for.
>>"What is smear?"
He tilted his head. Honestly he hadn’t been expecting that conversation. It was just another reminder of the different world that Kalos had come from. So he would do his best to explain. ”Well, smear is when he cover something with something else and smooth it out. So what we’re going to do is ‘cover’ the cake that we make, with the frosting. So you get cake and frosting with every bite.”
There, hopefully that explained the process to her. With that out of the way, Jorge grabbed a timer so that he could keep track of the time that the cakes would need to finish. This was going to be the hardest part of it, the waiting. But, thankfully Jorge was patient enough to wait. And, this this done, Kalos could relax, have a snack, or wait out the baking with him. He was good either way.
>>"How long does the baking take?"
Jorge finished setting the timer. ”Oh about half-an-hour…” he stopped himself when he glanced at her. Did she have that concept of time yet? He simplified by holding up the small timer that had the time ticking away on it. ”Then this box starts making loud beeps, that means the cake is done. It’s going to count down half-an-hour for us.” He smiled. That will probably seem like an eternity to a kid who wants cake. ”It will take a bit, but it will be worth it. Um, in the meantime you can take a break and relax while I clean up. Unless you want to help?”

>>“Thanks so much, Mr. Cervantes. You have no idea how much this means to me.”
Jorge nodded. He was only too happy to volunteer to help the kid with his swimming lessons. Jorge was pretty good at it when he was in college and it was a habit that he never really grew out of. Despite the years he spent as nothing more than particles of water, the man could never actually take swimming out of his life. Water, despite everything, was his home and it was a part of him.
Of course, if Jorge was going to train the kid, he needed to know what he could do. Thus, he asked and the kid proposed an exhibition. The detective agreed as he pulled out his cell phone. Once it was set to the Timer setting, Jorge stepped back a few feet from the pool, getting himself into position at around the center so that he could keep a careful eye on when Andy would reach one side of the pool versus the other. With his phone ready, he informed the kid that the pool was his when he was ready.
>>“Okay. Ready when you are,”
Jorge nodded, gave the kid a thumbs up and waited for him to kick off. As soon as Andy did, Jorge tapped the button and watched the time as the kid swam. Really the kid seemed to have a lot of talent with this. He looked as natural as a dolphin in the water. Making it to one end of the pool in top speed, the man grinned and figured the time would be pretty good once he made it across the to the other end. But, to his surprise, it seemed that Andy had more talents than just his swim skills.
It was so unnatural to watch. Andy suddenly torpedo across the pool, damn near getting ready to slam himself on the other end. Andy was out of control and, quickly, was going to become little more than a smear under the water. As the kid held his hands out to stop himself, Jorge suddenly lashed out, his palms pointed towards the pool.
The water responded instantly. It hopped out of the water, hoping to catch the kid midair but noticing how the liquid seemed to repel around him. Jorge’s only hope was that the kid’s powers weren’t constantly active so he reached out, summoning as much water as he could to cushion the kid. The last thing he wanted was for his one swim competitor to end up with a broken neck.

Jorge was getting pretty tired now. This thing was massive and it was difficult to keep it held back with water. He had managed to distract it some but it seemed as if the towering beast were not going to easily be stopped. Their best option was to still get it to the bridge where, either it could get tangled in the suspension lines or it could be knocked into the water. Jorge didn’t relish the idea of harming innocent people trapped in state they didn’t have control over was...unnerving. He sighed, trying to focus on the fact that they needed to tackle one problem at a time. The most important being that they stay alive this time.
Jorge had told Firefly to stay back while he handled the beast but it seemed as if she weren’t exactly willing to do so. As Jorge fought off the monster, he heard the sounds of her battling the mammoth beast and lashed out to stop it. When he finally distracted it enough, knocking it back several yards, he finally shrunk back down to his clothes and noted that Firefly was busying herself with setting up another car. Good, twice the power is better.
Just as his own car roared to life, Jorge looked up to see that Firefly had started her own and brought it close, hitting the highbeams. He followed suit and watched as the young woman ran out, standing between the beams of light. It was a beautiful sight, really, to watch her pull in as much light as she was getting from them. Would it be enough? He hoped so, what was more important was if they had time.
>>”I’m on my way.”
Jorge was about to respond when he felt the vehicle shake underneath him. He grumbled a bit at this, turning his eyes back to the street. The lumbering monster was getting closer now, returning to the scene, probably drawn by the cars combined headlights. With a curse on his lips, the man stepped out of the car and started to pull in as much water as he could. He could feel the strain already weighing on his head, but he had to keep going. Several bursts of water followed, flying out from a makeshift line in the sand that encircled Firefly. Jorge would do his best to keep her safe while she charged up. Burst after burst of stinging water was fired, knocking the beast off balance but only slightly. Thankfully, their salvation would appear when Ghost suddenly manifested in the passenger side of the car, holding a film projector; handy.
>>”Hey.”
”Hey to you,” he said. Another burst of water and Jorge shouted to nurse. ”Firefly! Get up in the air! We’ll keep you charged up! Follow us to the bridge!” He turned back to Ghost as climbed back into the car, roared the engine. ”Can you manage that thing?” He waited for eventual chase/pursuit/fleeing to take place. This was going to be an interesting ride.

Agatha was stressing out. The ritual was almost done but she was being pursued, rather relentlessly, by individuals who should have known better. The ritual needed to be completed but the fact that she was beset upon so much only proved she was in danger. Their plan had been found out and the forces of Earth were trying to stop them. Even as she thought this, her panicked thoughts shifted towards her sister, Abigail, who was confronting a man on the roof of the hotel. He was a hulking figure and while Agatha didn’t sense any godhood from him, they couldn’t take any chances.
”We are more than ‘alright’,” she hissed at her invisible interloper, seeing through her sister’s eyes. ”We are are about to open the tear. You shall bear witness to the Old Ones, finally claiming what is theirs. But their visage comes at a price…” she whispered. ”What do you fear most?” Another arch of her back and woman opened her mouth in a silent scream as she looked skyward. ”No more games. We unleash the full might of the Old Powers!”
Agatha raised her arms, willing the power of her two other sisters to course through her and add to her own. It was here that another voice attempted to interrupt her…
>>"I want to go to the other world!"
The witch only grinned, her eyes wide as she unleashed the full force of her and her sisters’ powers. ”You shall see it soon enough…”
Something lashed out towards her but Agatha was more than prepared. One of the maddening minions jumped forward, protecting the wyrd sister’s body, but was suddenly snagged away by the invisible tether. Agatha paid no attention to the gnashing, biting man dressed like a guinea pig as he was launched directly at the interloping woman. As soon as he landed on her, he would eat the fingers from her hands. Agatha, meanwhile, had other matters to tend to. Even the sudden appearance of another storm mattered little. She braced herself against the tempest and pushed on.
The dark smoke increased in strength and speed. A maelstrom ripped through the parking structure, shaking the equipment and rattling the trees on all sides. Agnes seemed unscathed, though, her eyes drifting over the parking structure. She could already hear the sounds of battle occurring. Her insane minions would surely rip these would-be heroes into shreds. And if these people wanted to challenge fear, then they would see it at full force.
Unseen by all except those within the influence of the darkness, the sky high above the city cracked open. A psychedelic array of colors, patterns, and nightmarish designs stood in contrast against the inky black sky around the split in reality. And from this gap in space and time, the universe moved an dizzying speeds, so fast that the human eye could barely look at it without keeling over in a seizure. The headache-inducing display was muted though, but by something far more horrible. In the sky above New York, eclipsing the dazzling spectacle there were the darkened silhouettes of horrors that the mind could not grasp. Undulating masses with far too many limbs or no discernable shape, while some were of such geometrical perfection that it seemed impossible, and then those people of vague, monstrous yet humanoid shape that looked ready the pluck the very sun out of the sky.
Anyone within the aura of these three girls, anyone slightly affected, will look up and see the most horrible of things imaginable...the realization of just how small and insignificant they truly were.

Agnes was could feel victory on the cusp of her fingertips. The ritual was almost complete and the sacrifices were being made. She could feel the people throughout the park beginning to rend themselves of flesh and bone. Around her location, children were setting themselves up, each and every one of them armed with something blunt or sharp. It was the perfect defense, a wall of children who could allow no one near her. Agnes was pleased, but also there was a growing concern in the pit of her stomach. Her sister’s seemingly, were in trouble.
She could hear, alongside her sisters, Abigail being confronted upon the rooftop of the hotel. She arched her brow curiously but paused. Add to that, someone was advancing on Agatha as well. It seemed that they were being advanced upon by minds that were stronger than the rest of the rabble. That was unfortunate. She rolled her neck, silently agreeing with her sisters on their next course of action.

Agnes seemed unscathed, though, her eyes narrowing at her invisible enemy but survey the sea children to stood in defense of her.
