It really hadn’t taken all that long for Lee to fall asleep once she was in bed after her run.She had turned her siphoning off while she and Tarin had been talking about that at the shop. And it had been a couple of months now that she’d been sleeping with him, so it was getting easier to fall asleep with a bit more energy.
What Lee didn’t realize was that as she slept, she had snuggled up against Tarin. So she was a little confused in her sleepy state when she heard and felt his voice against her ear. ”Hmm?” she groaned softly, though his words were filtering through faster than normal in the morning.
Then Lee realized that she was feeling siphoning, he was holding her. A smile crossed her face as she realized that would be why she was more awake this morning.
”Did we sleep in?” she asked, still sounding sleepy but more awake than she normally would have been. ”What time is it?”

Later that night, Lee slipped out of bed and quietly made her way out of Tarin’s bedroom. She had laid there snuggled up with him until he fell asleep, but Lee was not going to be able to sleep that night without getting rid of some energy.
It didn’t take Lee long to throw on some workout clothes and then she was heading down and out of the building, turning her siphoning back on as she went. She was starting to get used to not siphoning when she was around Tarin in order to try and avoid this exact situation, but there was no way she was going to be going running at night without it.
And that’s exactly what she did, running her normal path when she was on her own around the park.
A few hours and a few laps later, Lee made her way back home, and after a quick shower, she was crawling back into bed with Tarin. Lee wasn’t going to have a full night’s sleep, she never did when she needed to run. Not that that mattered all that much to her. But by getting just a couple hours sleep here, she would still be able to wake up with Tarin.
Which was a perfect way to end the night, Lee thought as she started drifting off. The night had not gone anything like she had planned, but to be honest, Lee wouldn’t have changed a thing.

When Lee mentioned that they would need to be quiet and Tarin mentioned that they might get in trouble, Lee couldn’t help it. Her pace quickened as she walked through the hallway towards Tarin’s room, smiling over her shoulder at him, her bottom lip between her teeth. That kind of comment was definitely making her even more eager.
Finally (not really, but it felt like it had taken much longer than it should have), they reached Tarin’s room. Halfway to the bed, Lee turned, a hand reaching up behind Tarin’s head, her fingers slipping into his hair as she pulled him down for a kiss.
This had been, and was continuing to be a great night.

When the kiss finally ended, Lee was a little confused for a moment. She had definitely forgotten what she had said before the kiss, and it took a little bit for her brain to make sense of what Tarin was saying.
But then a playful sparkle came to her eyes as she smiled up at Tarin. ”But I thought your girlfriend was here,” she joked. ”Guess we better be quiet, hadn’t we?”
Giving Tarin one more kiss, Lee pulled back and grabbed Tarin’s hand before walking out of the kitchen.

Lee smiled happily as she looked up at Tarin. As he said that he loved her too. Though she had known that for a while before he had actually said the words, it still made her heart flutter a little when she heard him say it.
And he was thanking her for a great night. Lee shook her head slightly as she wrapped her arms around Tarin’s neck. ”I’m not the only one who made tonight so incredible,” she said softly. ”I hope the night isn’t completely over, though.” That said, Lee tightened her arms around Tarin’s neck as she stretched up for another kiss.

It was still rather early to be honest, but if Lee had a say in matters Tarin wouldn’t be going to sleep in the immediate future.
But that didn’t mean that they couldn’t head to bed.
With how quickly Tarin got up and started gathering the leftovers up, Lee could only assume that he was on the same page as her. Which was very good.
It didn’t take long for the two of them to get everything cleaned up and into the fridge. Leaving the two of them standing in the kitchen. Stepping in front of Tarin, Lee looked up at him for a moment before stretching up to give him a kiss. ”I love you,” she whispered as she pulled back.

Lee was looking over at Tarin out of the corner of her eyes when she saw him reaching for his phone. And she smiled when she saw him raise an eyebrow at what he’d read on the phone.
Then he was smirking and typing something as well, and Lee got very curious about what he would be replying. Especially since he hadn’t yet said anything about the text that she had sent him.
But a moment later, her phone got a notification. Curiosity peaking, Lee picked her phone up again and read the reply from Tarin.
And had to press her lips tight together to keep herself from bursting out laughing. Not only had Tarin taken her playful teasing in stride, he’d run with it and went even further.
Now that the urge to laugh had passed, Lee bit her lip, smiling as she reread the message. He couldn’t talk because his girlfriend was there? What they were doing and what they were saying, well texting, was utterly ridiculous.
And Lee loved it. Because it was playful. And fun. And they felt secure and safe enough with their relationship and each other that they could joke like that.
”Well, if you wanted to call it an early night, maybe we should see about getting these leftovers put away,” Lee ended up saying. Because the sooner they did that, the sooner they could head to Tarin’s ‘place’ before she went for her run.

Tarin laughed, and then teased right back. Lee was grinning as she leaned forward to set her plate down before leaning back and looking over at Tarin again.
”Oh, are saying that I should text him to hurt up and get here then?” she asked, raising an eyebrow as she looked over at Tarin.
But then Tarin continued speaking and Lee smiled. After she went for a run, Tarin would be asleep when she was ready to crawl into bed. Especially after a night like tonight, the most he tended to do when she climbed into bed was to roll toward her slightly, but he rarely woke up.
Lee then grabbed her phone, typing out a quick message before setting it back down, and a moment later Tarin's phone have a notification.

Yes, it was very good that there were always leftovers because if the food had smelled better than normal because they had worked up an appetite, it was quite possible that at least one of them would need to eat again at some point that night.
Once they had gotten through most of the food on their plates, Tarin spoke again.
And asked what else she would like for her date night? Her ‘completely normal’ date night, as Tarin was calling it. Lee leaned back against the couch as she looked at Tarin.
There were definitely a couple things that she could think of, but she figured those were pretty expected and going to happen. They'd really only stopped some of those things because they had needed to get food and actually get home.
”Well,” Lee said, matching the teasing tone in Tarin's question with playfulness in her voice. ”There is this rather handsome man that I would like really like to crawl into bed with after I take a run tonight…”

As she was laughing, Lee glanced over at Tarin . And when she saw that lopsided grin on his face, she felt her stomach do a funny little flip. Was it silly? Just a bit. But he also looked damn good, Lee couldn’t help but think as she turned back to the food on the table.
Lee shook her head slightly when she heard Tarin speaking. ”Yeah, maybe just a bit,” she said. ”Food is generally rather necessary, whether we want it to be or not.”
Tarin thought that maybe the food smelled better to her because they had worked up an appetite. That…was very possibly the reason, Lee thought as she started eating. ”It’s a good thing we always have leftovers, isn’t it?”

It didn’t take Lee long to grab plates from the kitchen, but by the time she made it out to the couch, Tarin already had gotten everything out of the bag and ready for them to dig in.
And then Tarin spoke, and Lee burst out laughing. ”It’s kind of awesome?” she questioned with a slight shake of her head.
”Though,” Lee continued as she leaned forward to start loading her plate up. ”Am I imagining it, or does it smell better than normal?”

Was Lee playing with semantics again? Well, technically yes, because Lee actually loved Mexican food. But the intent behind Tarin asking if there was anything that she didn’t like was so he didn’t pick a restaurant that she wouldn’t want to eat at.
Plus, Lee really hadn’t eaten Mexican in over a decade, with a couple exceptions of tex-mex when she had been in Texas with Kevin and that was all that had been available.
”Ready?”
”Definitely ready to get home,” Lee replied, smiling up at Tarin.
It really didn’t take them long to get to their building, up the stairs and into the apartment. ”I’ll grab plates if you want to start pulling things out?”

Lee and Tarin had been together, if secretly at first, almost the entire time since he had moved into the apartment. Though, not much about their routines had changed from that first week except for where Lee tended to sleep when she was able to.
And yet, they really hadn't gone on many dates. They did things together frequently, but unless you counted their morning runs, Lee was sure she could count the number of actual ‘dates’ on a single hand. So she smiled quite happily when she heard Tarin say ‘it’s a date’.
As they were waiting for their food, Tarin asked if there was anything that she didn’t like to eat. And Lee almost told him that there wasn’t, but caught herself at the last moment.
”I don’t really eat Mexican,” she ended up telling Tarin. ”Otherwise no, not really.”

Shin knew that she was there for him if he ever needed help with that planning or to unload. There really wasn’t much else to say about that.
And so they moved on to much more simple and optimistic subjects, such as babies. As they walked, Lee gave Shin what advice she could from her experience with Kevin, though some of it, such as preschool, wasn’t relevant as she was in a different country when Kevin was that age.
Nevertheless, the rest of the walk was much more relaxed and casual, and when they finally parted ways, Lee assured Shin that she would be in touch much more often.

Lee smiled when Tarin suggested that they could go somewhere really nice for their next attempt at a date night. Considering the fact that dressing up for Tarin meant just a button up shirt with his jeans which would likely still be too casual for somewhere ‘really nice’, the fact that Tarin was the one suggesting it, and that he said that it might be fun…
Well, it was definitely making Lee feel more special than he already had that night.
But they were at the restaurant now, Tarin opening the door so she could walk in. ”You know, I think I would like that,” she told him as they made their way to the counter to order. ”Did you have any idea of where?”
