The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Luna had been so excited when she saw the notice that it had been all she thought of all day. She had even woke up early and got to history class on time. Luna's had washed and brushed her fur making sure it almost shined, she wanted to make a good first impression here. Her excitement was such she was almost hopping with energy shifting her weight from one foot to the other. She had on a T-shirt depicting cold steel in what was a mostly accurate depiction of him saving people from zombies and shorts. Her fluffy tail waved behind her as she moved stretching out almost four feet behind her and forcing her into a leaned posture. She adjusted her glasses again as they started with introductions.
An arachnid mutant who wanted to be elsewhere, her chances were getting better by the moment. She was unsure if her powers could even effect spiders or if spiders even could smell things. The two tailed girl beside her seemed more excited and wanted to be an x men and her powers seemed so mysterious. Images floated in her head of what constructs the girl might be able to make.
Then it was her turn. "My name is Luna, really happy to meet all of you. I have skunk powers, i can shoot a foul smelling scent with pin point accuracy around twenty feet, I have great hearing and smell but my eyes kinda suck now. " she said not at all hiding her excitement at being here. "I want to be an X men one day, because anti mutant terrorists broke into my school and i was powerless even after transforming. I don't recall it to well but a friend told me we were saved by a women sheathed in pink. I want to repay her by saving humans and mutants and doing good in the world" she said only slightly less excited then she had been at the start. She also left out her Human phobia.

Luna Nodded as well when Gawain answered. "No, no costume, though i often wish it was it was when it's time to brush my fur" she said trying her best to focus on Carson and to be as warm as she could. Her hands were less shaky now, though she stroked her tail fur like she was petting a cat.
She was starting to relax and about to offer further insurance when the guy vanished. Luna saw gawain turn and tried to match it, but with less graceful results, stumbling as her tail swung around as she did, acting like the twelve pound weight it was. She was jelous of his power until she looked at his form. Luna felt bad for him, she at least looked semi cute she liked to think anyway but she had a strong feeling Carson likly attracted more pitchforks and torches then her. "People scare me to, but my Teach her is helping me past it" she said her voice softer then usual
She felt a lot of understanding and sympathy for the demon boy. She had no idea how old he might be, but their mutual fear somehow comforted her a bit and she had no idea why. Her ears kept moving trying to hear any foot steps or any more humans. She still looked occasionally to, more out of habit then need. The scent in the ladys window was beginning to spread. Luna knew well the scent would permeate through the apartment complex.

Luna head snapped around at the sound of yelling, thinking someone had spotted her and out on instinct her tail was pulled firmly into her left hand and her ears twitched trying to locate the sound. She was startled to see the mutant pop into being in front of them she leapt backwards in surprise. He was obviously a mutant and much like her from what she could see, he was a very visible mutant, one the leapfrogged them and even flipped landing on the wall and actually crawling up it. Mutants had a strange way of comforting her, she just felt safe near them
Then a woman opened her window and started yelling. Luna spun around and before she knew it, fired a shot from the end of her tail, she missed the woman but her spray sailed right through the window. When she had turned her own hood fell revealing her fur covered head clearly, her cat like ears and the snout her face elongated into. her ears went down when she realized what she had done, but the woman was not yelling at them now. She really hoped Gawain was not going to yell at her for hosing that lady. She had at least aimed it as not to blind the woman for awhile, fearing that might of been to much.
"Sorry" she called to Mirror nodding at her assessment the guy was in trouble and glancing to the end of the alley. What trouble was the question, not anything fun she knew. Her breathing was quick but she did her best to focus on their new friend. "Hey' she said with a small wave at the unknown mutant trying to both sound brave and confident, though her hands were shaking and her ears twitched upon hearing the voices from the other alley still. He looked like a demon but she knew well looks were nothing to judge upon. She could smell the effects from her shot in the house even if it had yet to carry itself down

Luna had jumped at the chance Gawain had offered her. It had to go better then her own attempts and she really was determined to try and get herself past it. She knew she had to if her dream to be able to protect others the way she had been protected was to come true. She could not explain the fear that gripped her in the presence of humans but she was going to do her best to beat it this time.
She had somehow simply assumed they would be going by car, but Mirror had a more interesting way to travel and something Luna decided she liked even better. She nodded as they emerged from the mirror looking around in fascination and where they were. She only considered the few people walking around after Gawain asked if she was good.
"Yup, I'm good" she said even though small alarm bells sounded in her head. Still she pushed the fear down. She could do this she told herself, running her claws through her tail fur a bit. She knew little about small children but was happy Gawain had asked her to come and Luna really did like to help.
She nodded as she followed in her natural bent forward position. "Sound's good, It's good it's quite to. I think with you I'll be all right" she said trying to sound much braver then she feared she might actually act if it got crowded in the area. She wore a coat over her t shirt, more for looks then actual need. She knew it would attract attention otherwise and reveal more of highly visible mutation, not that her tail helped at all there, but it did cover her ears at least.
She looked up at Gawain and smiled. "Thank you for this, I'll do my best to be brave" she said as much to herself as Gawain. She followed along not familiar with much of this part of the city having not explored it much.

Her twitched as the dog barked. She watched the dog with a smile. She did love animals and seeing Bruno's excitement was a fun addition to her day. "I'm good, just enjoying the weather. The mansion has way more room then I had back home. she tried to explain. She had never cared much for snow before her mutation but now the cold did not feel as bad, a consequence of being covered in dense fur. She watched as he formed and threw the snow ball and the dog heedlessly chasing after it.
"Glad i could help and yea I would love to run such a course. First of course, otherwise i could just follow the last person's smell she said tapping her nose. She would never be able to track like Bruno, but she could identify people if she tried. It made skipping history class far easier as well as letting her know who was in a room before entering.
"About as many snow days as home schooling then. A shame but a hero can't fear a little cold" she said with pride. She was determined to be able to save others as she had been all those years ago. She was sure her powers could be useful though she was not at all sure how. She also had to have the issue of her crippling fear of humans which she had been trying to do, even if one of those attempts had gotten her shot. Their had also been the five block chase just for someone to let her know she dropped her wallet.
"This place is great, so many people to interact with. My mom kept me inside most of the time after I got my powers, so running around like this feels so free" she went on running her claws on one hand through the wrist fur of the other. She considered maybe she should have said a bit less or paid more attention but it was two late now to consider either of those things.

The snow was fresh and the grounds were quite a situation Luna enjoyed for the most part. She wore a black t shirt and a jeans and was as normal for her barefoot. She simply shredded shoes with her claws, even trimmed the issue was only reduced. Her fur was coated in snow both from still falling flakes and rolling in it. Her fur may have been a pain to maintain but it certainly kept her warm in the winter as long as the temperature did not dive to low.
She shook her tail a bit to clear the extra weight off of it as she moved across the grounds enjoying the freedom. It was a freedom she had lacked up until the mansion and she was slowly starting to make use of it.
Luna started running, her body leaning forward to balance out her tail as she did. Running as she was she was paying little attention and without her glasses her sight was just bad. She heard snow being crunched and sniffed the air, realizing it was a dog and someone she knew. She tried to stop herself to better focus her eyes and make out the exact positions of both. Her claws found mud and she leaned down to use her paw but instead the momentum and weight of her tail flipped her around letting her on her but looking up at Professor Sam and his dog.
Shaking some snow off of her snout and face much like a dog would, she smiled embarrassed but happy. "Hey Prof, enjoying this wonderful weather as well?" she asked as she glanced at the large dog with Sam. She liked dogs though her appearance she knew could be off putting to ones that had not gotten use to her.
She stood shaking her tail a bit to clear whatever snow had gathered on it."So Teach what do you do with all this stuff? Build a giant Ice maze survival course?" she said unable to contain the idea. In truth of all her teachers she enjoyed the self defense and power training classes the most, she made little secret that she wanted to be an x men one say and so while prone to skipping other classes tended to always be on time for those.

She shook her head not knowing quite what to say. Their powers were strange and wonderous but often confusing. A skunk sure, her scent could keep her safe but she was at a loss to understand what benefit gender shifting could have. Still it really was fascinating to think about all their powers could be. "That sounds like a fun time. I bet you had so much fun with that, I know I would have. I would so sneak into the boys locker room" she said considering the possibilities. At least until people find out anyway, then their could be trouble, but that would never have stopped her. She was going to have to recall both names to, she barely kept people with single names straight half the time.
"You mean the the Self Defense instructor?" she said a bit shocked before she considered the idea that her Teacher might not have hit the woman before her, but her as a he. "I have not done much with him yet, but I am looking forward to it. Honestly it's the class i am most looking forward to, then i can save people" she said leaving out the idea she would have to get more liking to humans then she had now or at least be able to be near them. She knew she could be a hero, she just had a few things to over come.
"Maybe he would have seen you going to the same bedroom as both?" she thought not sure of how he might have known if Mya tried to keep the secret.

She had never considered the nagtives to Liz's power as a vet, her mind focusing on the positives. But she had to consider Liz's words and maybe Liz pushing her own calm onto an animal would only work so much or not as well when it was needed constantly. She was quite glad she did not need to deal with it as Luna was not sure the power would not have broken her in two mentally. Luna handled her own well enough but only because it required little effort to do so.
It was hard to understand how anyone would ever want to leave this place. She understood that was not really Liz's point however. She had no idea how to stand strong in the face of her fears, it seemed almost impossible. Still Liz had done so and most likely many others had as well. She smiled when Liz mentioned they had her back and that she had time to get past it. It made her feel like she might well be strong enough. She nodded in agreement as while she felt the fear she knew it was something to be overcome. "it is easier with others i know with me, one of the students here helped me out a lot the other day she said barely recalling the name of one of the two guys had rescued her.
Somhow Liz had nailed her intent with her hobbies perhaps better then she even knew. Escape was something she searched for and she loved the idea of fully engrosing herself in another world to avoid thinking of her own. It had not started that way but had grown so more and more over the past few years which seemed like a long time to the young girl. "it is nice to float in those other worlds and submerge yourself. Things always seem so much easier and simpler in a book or a show" she said knowing it was just the nature of how such things had to be made. The hero in fiction also very rarely wound up dead forever. She perked up when Liz Mentioned being able top help people or chances. "I would love to help people however i can be useful, though im likely more useful at the mansion then outside of it." she said not quite grasping the entirety of Liz's words.
"i'm sure theirs not a lot of chances like this one. I don't think i would ever wanna leave, not for long anyway. I know we never got this close to a teacher at my other schools. It was always about class and grades and other boring stuff" she said casually before she looked away slightly embarrassed realizing what she had said. "I mean um well people each have a story you know? A story they forge ahead and make progress in and those effects so many other people storys as well all forming the vast book that is us" she said trying to recover from her perceived insult.

She took her coacoa out and being careful of the temperature brought it over to the table, closing the microwave. She was glad Liz had suggested it. It had certainly calmed her down. Drying off had helped a bit with that as well. Of all the days to pick.
Liz certainly seemed strong to handle all that. Ina way she could even relate to the panic and stress parts. The struggle she mentioned in controlling herself as well. Part of her wonderd if some of her panic was the skunks but she did not think so. "You would of made a great vet" she said thinking about Liz helping animals. The power seemed like it would be amazing for that and it made her think of a movie.
Even as she sat almost absently sweeping her tail aside she caught Liz's response on human relations and how it matterd more how you responded to it. Luna's ears went down a bit as she was unsure if Liz meant she should react better to Humans which she agreed with the lack of looking at her made her wonder if it had more negative connections to her behavior. Her fear was a poor response she knew but one she had not quite figured out a way to help. Either way it was hard to take comfort in Liz's words. "I respond by fleeing in terror" she offerd barely recalling her dream of one day being an X men.
Her mood brightened. "Well I love a good story line and so I love to read play RPG video games and anime or sci fi/fantasy settings. Anything with a good story, preferably with a villain who is not just evil to be evil. I can lose hour's or days while wrapped up in them or anything with real good lore and a solid world built around it. I fell asleep a few times outside reading in my backyard before i got here as well. I had to keep most of my collection at home sadly" she said growing more excited as she went. She enjoyed a villain you could relate to. Storys were her safe place as well as something she could enjoy. She added more marshmallows and took a sip of the coacoa. "I really enjoy helping people as well but that has been harder since the change." she said with a shrug.
"Did you always want to return her to teach? I mean it's a very cool thing to do. " she said Curiously looking back at her young teacher. This was easily the most she had ever talked with a teacher. Normally she was being yelled at for not doing somthing.

She nodded in agreement. She knew her mom was trying to protect her from what happoned she just never quite understood why that was needed. She still saw it sometimes in her dreams. Still, she was glad when the conversation moved swiftly on, though she could tell the story would not be a happy one from Liz.
When Liz mentioned the hostage situation and the robbers she stroked part of her tail lightly with her claws. The womens words making her think a bit back to her last human experience. What got her attention was it had happened multiple times, to Liz who seemed so sunny and bright. "I know just how that feels" she said sincerely able to relate to Liz's story quite easily. The nightmares the woman must have had. Sometimes seeing the hope in Humans was hard and made her wnat to give in.
She took her turn at the microwave warming her coa coa. "So you have to keep control all the time?" she asked thinking that her own power basically required nothing from her. The idea of feeling what every animal around her felt seemed overwhelming to Luna which made Liz seem ever stronger in Luna's eyes.
She wanted to say she was not the type who would have stared. She knew herself better then that and even knew she likely would have felt bad for it after to. Still a part of her felt lucky not to have to deal with all that. Luna could hide very easily. She had more then once considered staying on Mansion grounds until she died. Liz however from what Luna could understand and with the pets she knew were here would never have had such a safety net. The grounds were safe from Humans sure but Animals were all over. She heard the microwave go off and carefully removed her cup and picked up a spoon.
She could relate to the people staring because running and/or screaming in terror for seemingly no reason to them. She had done that a number of times herself. "That does seem really hard. All that attention would make it hard to regain that control" she considerd what Liz had told her. "Are things better now then when you were a student like me?" she asked curiously, trying to coyly gauge the progress on humans seeing them as more then monsters.

She smiled back and took the mustached one, she could relate to facial hair, despite the differences. After seeing Liz check the date on the milk and finding out it was all right she two ripped open a bag of coa coa using one long nail to puncture the hole and tear open the top to empty it into the cup before adding the milk. She was just adding the milk when the question came and she almost spilled the container and but avoided it just in time.
"It's why I'm here really' she said nervously, and she gazed at the coa coa a moment before she looked back at Liz. "My parents and i had just moved, i was starting a new school and on the third day while my class was in hulls, an Anti Mutant group broke in. We were all terrified but only i grew fur which meant when they found us they went right to me. He struck me on the back of the head with the gun and i woke up a year later." she said putting some marsh mellows in her coa coa almost as an after thought as she took a drink. "I tried to ask what happened but my best..old best friend i mean only would say a women sheathed in pink saved her and just cried when i asked more she went on, a visible shiver running through her.
"After i awoke, things were different. I tried to go to public school and do other normal things but when i knew their were humans or did not know they were mutants, fear would....does rise up inside me. Every part of me demands i run, that i get away as quickly as possible, and hide. Mutants don't trigger it at all." she said finishing her account of her powers and why at least as much as she understood it had the fear she did and why she had not been in public school for so long. She felt large amounts of shame at her fear.
"I can imagine powers from the mind would be tough to control." she said thinking about it for the first time. Part of her rather shelterd life had meant she had not encountered many mutants before coming to the Mansion. "Not having control must seem so scary and frustrating though. I bet it still felt like everyone was looking when things happened" at least thats how she would have felt in the situation,

Luna made her way to get the milk, finding it after a few moments. The Mansion fridges were large and she knew it was likely hard to hide anything in them despite that. But Liz had found some somewhere and marshmallows as well. "Those sound good to" she said. She was certainly a fan of marsh mellows as well though she could not recall having rainbow ones before. She set the milk down next to the other stuff.
She helped where needed or asked. "Oh, my mom restricted me from the internet and limited what tv i could watch after i got out of the coma. Kept me from talking with my old best friends as well" she said matter of fact, she had known that her mom could not enforce such restrictions now but had been cautious about such things as they seemed vast and unwieldy.
"Was adjusting to being a mutant hard for you?" she asked casually trying to make light conversation and delay the inevitable. Most had a story involving their powers after all so in general it was a good inroad she felt. She felt like she had adjusted easily after a bit of trouble at first herself, but keeping to herself so long had made it so she not had to encounter much of what many mutants inevitably did.

"It was, i wore two flea collors and we had to have the house fumigated. The combine for the eggs took hours as well" she explained. With five foot of fluffy tail and her own five foot body she had a lot of area to cover. She had considered cutting or shaving it but her mom had reminded her that even shaved she would still have the tail, ears, claws and muzzle. Her mom had told her she looked great in fur.
She considered mentioning that she had not been aloud much time online or on news sites. Youtube had been a big no by her mom she had never quite figured out. She was glad Liz did not want her guessing her age because Luna knew her own approximate judgement on that was not well tuned. She did laugh back however rather enjoying her time with this teacher.
Liz's next words were in part why Luna admitted to her fear of humans. The mansion had all the food she could want and she did know this, however she had in large part been trying to overcome her own fears on the trip, reasoning that even close to the mansion most people who would be there were human. She had been right on that terrifyingly so. She had been scared but forced herself to go.
Luna asking about weather liz found Humans scary took the lighthearted fun mood and set it aflame. She caught the frown, and her tail lowerd a few inches in response. She kept direct eye contact with Liz when she looked into her eyes but was glad to break it as well. Her mine flooded with possible disaster scenarios and mental fantasies where she never asked the question and they simply went on got food.
Back in reality, she believed what Liz was telling her, she knew that their were good and bad people in any group. Why then did the sight of a Human or someone who she thought might be Human inspire such fear in her? "I know your right and not all people are bad but um I'll go get changed, ill be right back" she said glad to have an even temporary escape from the situation.
She took off at a quick pace, her clawed feet causing an echoing clicking as she moved. She made it to her room, letting out several colorful words, maybe louder then she should have and hoped those in the surrounding rooms had gone out or were still asleep. Not able to really calm herself as she changed she tossed in a hairdryer and and brush to further dry herself and not quite look like the 80's band mentioned by Liz.
Now in a fresh T shirt and a knee length skirt she took a look at herself and figured it worked well enough. She considered staying in her room but quickly dismissed the idea as she knew Liz was her teacher and lived in the same place. Which made avoiding her for eternity tough. It took nearly fifteen minutes for her to change and get her fur somewhat decent but she did make her way to the kitchen, glad for the sparseness of people at the early hour. She took a seat carefully maneuvering her tail so it hung off the side, making her sit at a bit of an angle on the chair. "Did you find the hot chocolate? she ventured trying to delay the now inevitable conversation they had to have.

She supposed it was, as she kept at getting dry. She was going to need a land bath for this one. Still she could not think of any of her other Teachers who would have helped and been cheerful about it before the mansion. Though it had been years since she was in actual school. She also knew the Mansion was a different and beautiful place.
She smiled. "It does and i quickly learned the lessons of not keeping up. Matting and i even got fleas shortly after i got the power. When i spray people it can get in the fur as well and well i don't mind the smell others very much notice" she said with a laugh. It had been an issue early on when she was more prone to spraying out of fear then need.
She had been trying to allay Liz's fears when she mentioned predators but now she considered that might not of been the best idea. She laughed "That's true, I guess if their was anything dangerous it would have long since left or been removed. Real skunks will break into a bee nest and eat the bee's and the honeycomb. I think the fur would prevent the stinging but i would not wanna try it out" she said having actually considered it on a few occasions only for her worry s to prevent her from it.
She laughed again, enjoying Liz's company quite a bit. "You would have to show me them but we could try. I am fourteen so i missed that era by a bit" she said sounding a little apologetic at the end. Her taste music wise was more in line with the Taylor swift and other more modern pop culture icons. "I think this year might be more fun then i thought. Been Three years since i was in an actual classroom. My mom home schooled me for the last two" she said even as she bent down searching through her pack.
She extracted a boar bristle brush and removed her glasses began trying to get the fur on her face and head to at least behave and got some success at it, putting her glasses back on. "We have that here? Sounds great, I Love it but had been two afraid to go the store for some." she said honestly and revealing a bit more then she had meant to.
Her embarrassment was evident as she wrestled with asking a question. "Do you find Humans scary?" she said almost regretting the question before it left her muzzle. She knew or atleast felt it was wrong but Humans or those she did not know were Mutants terrified her and tended to send her right to wanting to flee very fast.

She could feel her tail was almost empty on it's shot's and did not think the three would give her the chance to turn around. To say Luna was completely and utterly terrified was understating it. A Wall behind her and the only Ally she could currently see was down. Wait for the cop's? She had no idea if the cops would help or hurt them as the reports she had seen had been mixed. Then he raised his gun and took aim to shoot the Mutant who had come to her aide. Her imagination focused more on the horror stories she had heard however.
Her feet felt like lead but she had to do something, if nothing else then to keep Kala alive. She figured he did not need to die here. She took a deep breath, and gripped the pavement beneath her clawed feet tight. She darted forward leaping at the three humans, trying to use her pointed teeth and claws for intimidation. She managed to put deep scratches down the chest of one of the men, her claws dyed red with the blood. She turned by the armed man turned and took a quick shot which brushed by her side, but she felt a stinging pain in her tail, She backed away trying to growl. She could feel the warmth and the pain right away.
Her goal had simply been to give the other Mutant time to escape or fight. But the sight of the blood on her claws quickly dredged up awful memories. Her hands went to her head as her vision swam as shock began to take over. Focus was becoming hard and she staggered trying to clear the false mental images that were there. She could see the school and the anti mutant attack on it all over again.
