The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Shay giggled at the mention of dyeing hair. Dye was a pointless expense for her, and also the mental image of brightly coloured bunny ears was just. So adorable. "Yes, I-ur. I have control over it, I don't always look like this. Have you ever played any video games, like RPG's?" She asked.
"If you've ever seen a character creation screen, it sort of works like that." It didn't sort of work like that, it exactly worked like that. But Shay wasn't the most talented with words.
Shay leaned over one of the stands and looked around at some of the covers. So many of them had very scantily clad girls. Lots and lots of school kids. There were definitely some heavy troupes here, but Shay knew that already.
"I don't think I've heard of it? I'm looking for manga with school outfit and character designs." Cosplay on the mind, always.

Shay grinned sheepishly. There was always a moment of absolute, foreboding Terror whenever she spoke to someone for the first time, that they were about to immediately hate Shay for absolutely no reason. Or all the reasons. It didn't make any sense, it was just scary.
This one seemed okay though. And the ears were cute. "Sorry, I know that unwanted a-attention can be awkward. I just couldn't help it. They're cool." Shay sometimes wished they could do things like that, it would also make cosplay much better and easier. "I'm a mutant too. I have a power that changes how I look, so I think about it a lot." She admitted.
"O-oh. Don't worry, I'm not after something specific. Just exploring." Shay admitted with a light shrug. "I'm trying to get into more comics, and manga. I've watched a bunch of anime, but not actually read much manga." Anime was useful for Cosplay, and pretty and wonderful on many levels. Manga was obviously in the same sphere, with lots of overlap, but it was also a little different.

As much as Shay might try to focus on the game, until it started there was still social going on. Distracting social activity. At least Nessa was a nice distraction, she seemed so genuine. People that were fine with Shay being who they were, were just the best people.
Shay nodded tentatively. "Live games weren't that b-bad in the past, because I had a group of other people playing with me, also drawing attention. It's worse when you're the one absorbing most of it. I like cosplay because people focus on the costume, not me as a person." She admitted. Physically she wasn't shy, hell. She'd even done some very skimpy comic inspired outfits. And Dante, topless Dante was fun.
Shay had been distracted completely by her own thoughts and caught up when she heard the announcer call out Linkle. She grinned. Unusual, but cool pick. Linkle was kind of cute. Okay, very cute. Shay made a mental note to plan out a Linkle costume when she got home.
Now with the game in the forefront Shay's unconscious sort of took over the conversation, eliminating some of the fluster. "I get that a lot on stream. I think I get it? Like, if I got stuck in a body, as either gender forever I'd go insane." She admitted, as she scrolled to Floofloon and locked in. Gatchamon were cute and fun, but Shay would be lying if Floofloon's cuteness didn't initially draw her to the character.
That, and landing rest was the most satisfying thing. Grinning, thinking about the characters and the match up Shay turned to face Vanessa directly again and absentmindedly finished her thought out loud. "And for what it's worth I've always thought you were beautiful, regardless of settings." Shay was of course, being very genuine. Before realising that she was speaking normally, clearing her throat and turning to the game.

It was funny, usually when people asked questions about these sorts of events, in the stream or in person with Shay, they asked about performance anxiety, or how you dealt with competition and it's stress. People didn't get how Shay felt about it, playing games wasn't stressful. It was freeing, and exciting and fun. It was fun to test yourself against others.
The stressful part was dealing with people, people were hard, people were confusing. Unlike the rules of games, they were ever changing and mutable.
Shay didn't just look timid, she had a real genuine red flashed blush on her cheeks. She'd absolutely not expected this. It was one thing to have people in the community telling her that the channel was fun, or they liked the content. It was totally another having another, far more impressive content creator compliment them on it. On them, in general. This was new.
As Shay glanced back at Nessa, meeting her eyes, Shay was not thinking about the game ahead. Their thoughts were instead centered on how awesome it was to meet Nessa, how cool they actually were in person, how shocking it was that Nessa knew Shay's content. And the absolute dread that Shay would make a fool of herself.
And then the slow dawning that Nessa could probably hear their thoughts, Shay's eyes snapped back to the screen and they tried very hard not to hyper-ventilate. "I-ugh-y-No."
Squeezing her eyes shut for a moment Shay added. "I usually d-don't advertise who I am, attention online is very different from attention in person. I'm not good with people." Shay picked up the controller. Concentrating on the game might help.

Shay was glancing around the aisles, catching occasionally on various comic issues. Man, some of the darker comics had really in interesting comics, but Shay was finding that she was progressively more and more drawn to the manga. The art style was very interesting.
Something about the larger than life eyes, and the over exaggerated art was just so appealing. Shay loved anime, and loved cosplaying as some of the characters from some of those anime.
Shay hadn't remotely realised they were in the way of anybody, and blushed profusely. "I'm sorry, I was just browsing, I-I didn't mean to get in the way." Shay had never seen somebody with a power like this one, bunny ears were so cute! Shay couldn't do anything like that with their mutation, only human features.
"I um- I- I like your ears. I hope that's not rude. They're cool." She admitted, being very intrigued with physical powers.

Shay hadn't personally met many people outside of the other pro teams. She'd been on 2 pro teams so far, and mostly mingled with other people in that sphere, which had been a very different experience from the little she'd interacted with other content creators on view tube and fidget. Teams and their corporations where very rooted in group dynamic, and a sort of.. family vibe.
Other groups and individuals operated very differently, but from what Shay had seen Pow bloc party operated very similarly, in some ways. Also Nessa was trans, and beautiful, and lovely and... Shay really liked watching her content.
Although, Shay did like watching other channels. She particularly liked Strength mod, factsaboutvideogames and nogrammer. They were very individual orientated, but Shay figured it would be easier to get along with people from pow bloc party, because they were a collective. At least, she hoped they'd get on.
Was the world spinning? nope, Shay was just feeling a bit faint. They basically dropped into the chair. "Re-Wha-Fo- For real?" the disbelief was palpable. "I-" Shay took a deep exhale, visibly trying to calm them down. "Sorry. I'm... I'm not good at this. Thank you." Shay could just melt in a corner, and die now, kay thanks.

Sometimes Shay worked up the courage to actually go out and do things. Sometimes. That was, doing things beyond ordering fast food or going to con. Cosplay wasn't really a normal social activity. Or normal for normal people, Shay was comfortable doing it. People were always saying that they should partake in social activity.
Shay's version of this, was hanging out at nerdy places and doing things like reading. Because of course it was. As this as an uncomfortable situation, Shay had gone with one of her comfortable forms and was wandering around a cute little corner comic store she'd run into earlier that day, looking through various selections of comics.
There were the typical super hero sections, pulpy stylised comics, indie stuff, the dark and edgy and then there was the manga. Shay had never really understood why people got uppity about manga being it's own thing.
Sure it tended to have a distinct style, but then again so did a lot of different ages of comics, right? Maybe it was just her inexperience talking. Comics were a relatively new thing. Well Shay had been reading them for years, but now they had the time to actually devote to being into them, and it was a social topic that could be tackled without melting into a puddle of anxiety.

Okay. Shay could do this. Socialising, what could go wrong? It wasn't like Shay was a massive fan of Nessa and the rest of her channel, and Shay had signed up for the potential to meet them and spent the whole day talking herself into not chickening out. Okay, it was absolutely terrifying. But she couldn't exactly chicken out or leave now, she was sort of locked into this now that she'd agreed to play.
Accepting the offered arm, Shay tried not to blush too hard as Nessa led her towards the screens. Shay didn't have many friends outside of the people on the team, but she'd lived with them forever, things were so different when you lived with people. They were more like a family than normal friends.
She didn't know how to do this.
Uh. Wat. Did Nessa know who Shay was? Surely not... There was no way. Sure Shay had a popular-ish channel. But they'd never caught any of the Pow bloc people in the chat?

Shay was pretty confident in her cosplay in general, she spent a most of her life working on costume ideas, well what time she wasn't gaming or streaming anyway. Still, it was pretty amazing being complimented by someone you'd followed for a while.
Well Shay had followed POW block party, not so much Nessa. Okay it was Nessa. She was really cool, super outgoing and seemed really genuine and happy. Shay envied that about her, she found it really hard to drag herself outside some days let alone maintain the social ability that some people displayed.
Being pretty to look at helped too. It always felt like Shay spent a lot of her time blushing when she was out in the wild, obviously the situation didn't help. After a moment of awkwardness she found her voice again. "I-ah-Y-Yes, that'd be nice. I did sign up."

Going up and talking to people was hard enough, but when they were people that you actually followed online there was this whole extra layer of awkwardness just piled on top of things. She recognised so many faces, she'd caught so many of their streams and videos over the last few years, if anything Shay felt like they'd helped her come out of her shell when it came to her personal channel.
Shay started a little when a very energetic woman walked in and addressed the room. It was Nessa, her favourite personality on POW block party. Shay tried to open her mouth to speak up, to no avail. She sort of fidgeted in the corner a little and tried not to look like someone that was absolutely out of place, obviously oblivious to the fact she was at a gaming con, dressed up as a video game character and therefore fitted in very well.
And then Nessa walked up to Shay. "I-uh- thanks-I mean Hi-" Shay's cheeks flushed in a little as she tried to regain her balance. She'd been doing so well with socialising all day, it was much easier to do when you were hiding behind a costume, but she was a fan.

Cons were the best! They were absolutely horrifying, so many people in such a compact space, but at the same time there were a bunch of nerds, fun competitions, awesome merch. And in the case of this one, even though it was weighted towards video games, there was cosplay! So many costumes, so many beautiful people in costumes, so many beautiful costumes. And a contest! Contests were great too, they catered to the competitive spirit in Shay.
Today Shay was going as a kinda outdated video game cosplay, but one she'd been meaning to try out for ages. Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII. She didn't win the contest, but placed pretty high along the competition. It was still a win!
What else was on her to do list? POW Block party were hosting a little Ultra fight siblings tournament. Yes, this was perfect! It might not result in Shay melting into a puddle of awkward fail sentences.
The amazing thing about being an esports personality/fidget.tv streamer was that you got a press badge at these things. So she skipped the line and signed up. The brackets meant very little to Shay, she'd not played too much of this particular fighting game, out side of house parties back at the team.
But from her experience of POW block party streams, they weren't experts either. She grabbed a can of energy drink and got into the waiting lounge, swaying in a corner a little, trying to work up the courage to go up and talk to one of the other content creators.

Individual
Character's full name: Shay Robyn Ridley Alias/ Nickname/ Code name: ShadyShay Gender: Fluid Age: 22 Date of Birth: (08/01/1997) Birthplace/ Home/ Place of origin: Los Angeles Nationality: American Ethnicity/ Cultural Heritage: American
Appearance
Hair color and style: Shifting Skin Tone: Variable Eye Color: Interchangeable Height: Modular Build: Fluctuating Visible mutation: N/A Scars/ Tattoos/ Piercings: N/A Other features: N/A
Everyday clothing style: It literally changes every day. One day it can be petite, brightly coloured dresses, another can be gothy chains and jeans, video game reference shirts, ect.
Pretty much the only consistency here is that Shay rarely wears much makeup. When you have complete control over your complexion, less is more. Uniform: …. Whatever they’re dressing up as? Sleepwear: Usually something somewhat revealing, variable based on what kind of body they’re in. But Shay likes to enjoy whatever body they’re in. Miscellaneous clothing: Again, depends on what they’re feeling like. Their jewelry chest is more of a jewelry closet.
Character
Personality: Shay is an excitable, happy person with a massive amount of enthusiasm for many aspects of life, they love to make people laugh, people smile and they want everyone to have equal opportunities wherever possible.
Shay’s opinions on gender, and gender inequality come from a slightly different perspective than most. Even most non-binary individuals, as they never dealt with any of the assigned sex pressures most of society dealt with, they think inequality and predjudice in regards to physical traits is absolutely dumb. People are just people.
Shay also exudes energy at all times, extreme hyperactivity that is obvious to anybody that spends any real length of time with them. Hobbies/ Interests:The first big ones if obviously video games. Shay’s entire life revolves around the nerdy subcultures. They also love movies, anime, and generally have a massive appreciation for different forms of art.
The other big one is cosplay. Shay loves it to pieces, it’s a way they feel they can express themselves in a unique way. Job or part time job and description: Retired pro-gamer, currently a streaming personality on Fidget.TV, as well as entering costume competitions and being crowdfunded for cosplay by their audience. Fears/ phobias/ concerns: The big personal fear Shay holds is coming off as an awkward mess to anyone they meet in person. Speaking to people online, and interacting with a faceless audience is a completely different ball game to being in front of a real, live person.
The other underlying concern that boths Shay is mutant and LGBTQ rights. There are always little things on the internet they pick up on that give them pause and concern. Special talents: Aside from the above average RTS and FPS skills, Shay has developed a talent for planning and assembling costumes.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Good. Shay likes to promote interesting charities, donates to them regularly and wants everyone to share in their love for video games and what they can do for others. They’re not necessarily going to try and stop someone from getting mugged, but they’re very likely to call the police before hiding.
Mutations
Mutation description: Character customisation: Shay’s power is effectively a very complicated method of shapeshifting. When they will it, a ‘menu’ opens in front of them featuring dozens sub menus of appearance customisation, like the most complicated character creation for a video game you can imagine. They can adjust their height, muscle tone, skin tone, hair colour, eye colour, voice, even sex. Pretty much every physical trait you can imagine.
In addition, Shay has a ‘favourites’ tab that they can save a few of their most used or preferred appearances in for easy access, 3 at a time.
The windows in the menu are totally invisible to everyone but Shay, anyone watching them customise would just see them waving their arms around in the air, instead of moving around sliders.
Shay will get a ‘preview’ window before finalising the changes before their body emits a bright light and shifts into the new form. (Think Pokemon evolution). Strengths: -Complete autonomy over appearence and sex, they can look like whatever they want. -Can effectively impersonate people. Weaknesses and Limitations: -The main limitation is that the menu editing has a 2 hour ‘cooldown’ between uses, where it just won’t appear if summoned. -Non-innate traits like tattoos are not part of the customisation, and would be pointless as they would disappear between customisations. -Shay has to consume more calories for the shifts as the changes in body type require a massive amount of energy, with more required depending on how severe the change is, and obviously more shifts means more calories must be consumed. -Shay doesn’t ‘heal’ between shifts, if they received a wound in one form, and then shifted it would likely shift to somewhere similar on the new body.
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: Shay has pretty decent physical capabilities, as long as they keep a regularly large amount of calories in their system, and decide to adopt forms with strong physical traits, as well as having quick reflexes from a lengthy semi-professional gaming career.
Generally however Shay doesn’t typically prioritise practicality in their bodies. Instead going for aesthetic. Fighting Style: Shay has no formal combat training, whatsoever. Fighting Style Pros/Cons: Zero training, ass would get kicked by pretty much everyone.
History Of Your Character Shay was born in Los Angeles to parents very engrossed in the film industry, however their mutation manifested from practically the moment they were born. Their traits constantly shifting and changing every few hours or so. They went through more babysitters than was probably considered healthy for most families.
At an early age Shay’s parents split up for a number of reasons, which caused their perception of families to shift. They already had a slightly different outlook to most children, more than a little spoiled and home schooled, for the obvious reason of an appearance shifting child being very out of place in a normal school. Pretty much the only thing they shared with other kids was occasionally taking part in Halloween events, dressing up was just so exciting!
As they grew, Shay became more and more into video games. Partially due to the obvious connection that formed between their own ability to customise their being, and that of character creation in video games. They started out with a whole list of RPG’s, and then slowly progressed into shooters and strategy games.
By teenage years Shay was gradually becoming more and more proficient with video games, and began to place quite high on laddered game types in a couple of real time strategy games, leading to them getting scouted by a few teams that sponsored that sort of thing.
It was definitely a growing field, and Shay flourished within it. But it was stressful, more stressful than anything they’d done in their entire life. Eventually they moved over team based games. There were team based strategy games now, and some popular team based FPS. They ended up on a team of other similarly aged players, and for the first real time in their life Shay found themselves with friends their own age, with shared interests.
Between signing up and attending their first few real competitions, Shay went to their first comic con. It was such an incredible revelation, not only were the gatherings of fellow nerds so much bigger than they expected, but people dressed up as their favourite characters! And entered competitions, some of them even got paid for it!
Living in a house with them was probably the best way of exposing Shay to socialisation that there was, and there they would remain for almost 5 full years. Initially starting to live with them at the age of 16, Shay decided to retire from the scene at the age of 21. As well as moving for a change of scenery to New York.
Shay began attending more conventions, enjoying their ability to engage in cosplay. It’s like they were literally made for it. They even discovered that if they took their cosplay passion into the streaming it drove even more fans to their channel, and was becoming more and more of a viable career path.
At the age of 22 Shay has lived in New York for about 4 months now, and is more or less fully set up for regular streaming, as well as engaging in cosplay, and promoting charity events wherever they could. They still had a manager, it was just a lot less hands on than their days playing for a team.
Roleplay What’s your OOC alias?: Raz! (Razzledazzle) Where did you learn about this site?: Mugen! So so so long ago~ Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: Serena, Emily, April and Veronica! Sample RP: Fidget.tv was such an interesting platform to Shay, having so many people in a chatroom at once, asking you questions and having a laugh and interaction with each other was just weird. Today Shay was appearing to his chat as a dude, tall dark and handsome. With raven black hair and some very grey eyes. It was always amusing to see the different people swooning in the chat over the chosen forms.
Sometimes Shay got sent requests with a picture of a person chat wanted them to look like, along with progressively more and more ridiculous donations. Shay tried not to indulge these, but would sometimes try out how close they could get off camera. It was sort of fun.
The ShadyShay username was kind of silly, but everytime Shay brought up rebranding, the fanbase rioted. So he guessed they were stuck with it for now.
“Comon guys, we’ve got this! Last phase!” The crew were online together, concentrating on downing a boss just released in their most recent flavour of the month game and it was nail biting. Shay unfortunately got downed early and had to endure the usual washed up memes in his ears, he smiled and just carried on cheering for the last few pixels of health before… They got it!
“Woo! Boss downed, great job guys! Lemme just check on the chat and catch up on donations quick.” He picked up what was left of his coffee and took a large gulp as he tabbed over to the chat, spitting coffee out and sputtering. That number couldn’t be right?
2500? Active people in the chat? What the-
It took Shay a moment to calm down before the door bell rang. Ah. Dinner. Now that the shock from the peak numbers had faded slightly a wolfish smile graced Shay’s lips. “Pizza is here guys, we’ll have a short break and be back onto the next zone shortly!” Sticking up the break graphic Shay grabbed money off the counter and scrambled to the door.
As Shay swung the door open to a young delivery man he gave a sheepish smile. “V-Veggie supreme?”
“Er. Yeah buddy, you paid online right?” The man asked, glancing the money in Shay’s hand and into the room behind him.
“Yeah, but I still wanted t-to tip you.” Shay handed over a pretty generous tip, thanked the man again and swiftly closed the door, taking a moment to steady himself before placing the pizza on the counter and darting into the bedroom, quickly pulling up the menu and switching to a favourite, pulling on fresh clothes with a fox onesie before stepping out of the room in a female form, scooping up the pizza and resuming the stream.
“Hey guys, We’re back!” Shay exclaimed, grinning playfully. There were definitely newcomers in the chat. All the regulars ate it up, the chat went wild.
