The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Blue wanted to comment that anyone interested in him probably needed help, but that was maybe shooting himself in the foot too much. He let the thought slide, soon distracted by the kisses soothing his temper. He couldn't help the growl he made when she reached a maddening curve of his jaw. Fire was nice, but it never flirted like this. He didn't even have much alcohol in him, but she was stronger than anything he had consumed.
Enjoying himself? He looked down at her with a somewhat hungry expression now. "I could admit I am, but that seems to be giving into your tricks. Fine, shame me for finding something interesting enough to catch my interest." He leaned close to her ear again. "You wanted to bring my pride down a notch, so well done, you are clearly the hottest thing in this club and you know how to use it."
Blue wasn’t one to volunteer information about himself, but her taunts kept putting him on defense. He let heat transform to actual fire where it met her skin, finding it hard to keep flames away from her clothing. He was behaving, for now. But that wasn’t to say he couldn’t slip up and find out whether her clothing was more fireproof than his was.
”I’m enjoying the fire, luv. You kiss fine but let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” he let his hands move along her sides, staying low enough to avoid being accused of getting handsy. That could happen at a different location. ”Fun fact, I don’t feel cold. Don’t get cold. You seem to be the one who is a little cold blooded.”
She poked fun at his comment and he let out a noise between a laugh and a cough, ”Not everyone needs to use fancy words to lure someone inside. There are plenty who respond just as well to you trying to set their hair on fire.” he reached for her arm and released more flames. It was safer than getting too worked up and actually sacrificing his own clothing. Damn, she got under his skin. What was worse was she knew it and enjoyed maddening him.

She had a seductive laugh. At least, Blue responded to it that way. Few people would get away with the little jabs she kept taking, but few proved to be worth his attention. The way she responded to his fire, and the little quirks and ways she flirted were delightfully maddening. She was confident in her abilities and hell, he wanted to test hem. Patience was never his strong point, sadly.
Soft side? She wanted to make him sound weak, human. Prone to vulnerabilities like other losers. Soft side. Psh. He wondered how much he could get away with saying to her before she found him to be too much. But then, she initiated the kiss, and he felt a pleased growl escape. He could feel the fire, the energy from it meeting his mouth right before her lips did. His own skin returned with heat, one hand finding her hair and touching it. He exhibited a mixture of aggression and self control, a nice balance in a partner. Willing to have fun but watchful of signals he went too far. Perhaps, that was his soft side. Maybe just a rare person found it.
He swayed with the music, slipping behind her and letting his hands move back to her hips as the kiss melted. His face found the bend in her neck and left trails of fire there. There were challenges being tall, but she was not so tiny it was impossible. ”Do you really prefer someone with a soft side? I thought the preference was keeping things hard.” was that a joke? A dirty joke, but he did have a sense of humor under the surface.
Their games had cleared a little space from the other attendees so he didn’t have to resist teasing her more with sparks of heat. She was feeding him fire, after all. He was literally being charged by her powers and sending it back in raw heat.
Blue felt himself chuckle again, a low rumble that was neither unfriendly nor unpleasant, but as matter of fact as he was. ”Im not the type to apologize for how I am. The world is full of fakers, sometimes it helps to just give people no expectations. She was teasing him again and he let himself be baited. He tried to lure her closer, feeling greedy to prove her wrong.
”You like to test a man’s ego, but it makes me wonder if you live up to your own boasts. I like what I found so far but—“ he leaned next to her ear and let excess heat roll from his mouth across her skin. ”I guess time will tell.” he was exhibiting good control of his powers right now, letting the flames grow hotter in areas that she could feel but wouldn’t burn his own clothing. As the music tempo changes he let himself begin to dance, proving to be competent on the dance floor even with his standoffish personality. The difference was evident when he found something he liked, and he was enjoying the little heat leech he had pulled into his arms.
”I wouldn’t say I have a soft side, but perhaps certain things appeal to me more than others.” he let a hand brush down her back, fingers tracking her spine and leaving trails of heat. He was watching signals carefully, knowing good it well it took one wrong move for a woman to go from accepting to rejecting advances. Flirting was like dancing, the rhythm had to be right and the partner able to keep up.
Blue allowed her to continue the nickname. Heck, he had been called worse after all. Her questioning his abilities in bed, well, that was something he would have to call her on. A guys ego could only take so many hits, especially when it came to their prowess. "I never claimed to be a gentleman, but I stand by the rest of me." The fire was back in his eyes, but this time it was more of a challenge than anger. He was more than happy to prove it himself, given time.
April offered a hand and he took it, letting one finger slide across the skin on the back of it. He considered it as she led, smiling slightly to himself. "You're a bit hot yourself. That's a decent change of pace." He admitted. While he didn't really feel cold or heat like other people, certain fluctuations were noticeable. Maybe it was that she was also a fire mutant? He leached energy out of flames, drawn to them. She was attractive as well as alluring. For once he was trying not to jump the gun and scare her away. He wanted to see where this went. He drew closer as the music rolled around them.
Blue laughed unwillingly at the nickname she gave him. There was a flash of smile before he caught himself and it melted to an amused chuckle in his chest. Tinderbox? Surely you can think of something nicer than that. I’ll even give you a hint: my parents were completely unoriginal naming me.”
She played with the fire like it was a ball of yarn and him smile returned. ”If you enjoy that then the rest of my talents most certainly will be fun. Some people are hot in bed, while others...I’m sure you could imagine.”
He looked at one hand where the flames lazily flickered. ”The flames have been around as long as I have. Like a pilot light. Never goes out. I don’t burn things unless I want to but, what can I say? I have a bit of a temper.” he offered no apology for that. It was a simple fact. He already demonstrated his short fuse, after all.
Ah, so she danced and flirted. He found himself standing as a good song came on, leaning over so he was closer to her ear. ”Why don’t you join me for a dance then. The blue flames don’t burn but I’m told they’re still plenty warm.” he tempted.
Blue was getting all kinds of mixed signals from this woman. On the one hand, she approached him. On the other, she insulted him. He was feeling a little baited by the way she tried to get him to buy her something. Was he that type of guy? Not really. He couldn’t remember ever pursuing a woman to that extent. ”I may be inexperienced with people, but I make up for it with my experience in other things.” he felt the flames on his hands get warmer. The couch was in danger of a burn mark or two if this continued.
Then she took the fire, and he grew interested once more. That was...one thing he had not tried yet. Another fire mutant. One who was immune to fire? He was feeling torn. By now he would have left the situation and found an easier lay. But would it be as fun?
”I’ve seen a handful of both. Some people want to treat me like a pretty nightlight and then get pissed off when things get too hot for them,” he mused. Finally, he relented. ”For the sake of showing my appreciation to your lessons in social skills, I’ll buy the next round for you. But I expect this involved more than talking here. It is a club. Do you come here to flirt or also to dance?” he pondered.
Half-pint returned and gave him a pair of pants. Heck, even ones that would fit. He felt immensely satisfied and in a good mood. Heck, this was the best mood he had been in for a long time. Not that he would admit that. Shifting and getting dressed, he looked like a model stretched out with no shirt, proving to be just as seductive dressed than clothed. Well, as dressed as you could consider him with his pants dangerously low in the front for the moments.
”Well, I guess this is where we part ways. I don’t generally carry a cell phone, since they won’t insure me, but get messages still. I don’t do friends but if you ever want a nemesis with benefits...” he reached over to one of the counters to collect a piece of paper and wrote down a number. This one, he didn’t burn.
They eventually kissed their way through the store. Blue was quickly pleased he chose to be distracted by the spectral girl. This was someone wild enough to keep up with him, fast enough to avoid the dangers of his powers and temper. There were a few, uh, burnt clothing items by the time they were finished, although she managed not to get burnt herself. He may have actually resisted that much, but his energy had caused one or two flares of literal heat that had to be put out. Satisfied and somewhat tired from activity, Blue found himself lounging on a pile of pants. He still had yet to put any on.
”Well, it appears we are out of alcohol now.” he yawned and ran a hand through his hair. He was in a pleasant buzz, looking like a lazy cat laying in the clothing now.
He watched her bored expression return, the frustration with his teasing. Her blunt question made him laugh, a somewhat wild sound, but musical, almost. When he laughed or smiled, he was almost normal looking. He leaned down and caught her mouth with his, pressing her greedily back into the clothing rack. Nothing caught on fire. Well, none of the clothing. That wasn't to say there wasn't a certain level of flame between the two of them.
"Well, I think if that's happening, someone else needs to get rid of their pants." If she wouldn't he would. He wouldn't try to burn her again this time, but he felt awfully hungry suddenly, and his nap hadn't been entirely uneventful. If nothing else, he had energy for the time being.
There she went insulting him again. It was amusing, reminding him of a kitten clawing at your pant legs. Blue didn't know what her abilities were to make her so brave, but he had enough experience to guess that any kitten could become a tiger if provoked.
However, if they played the game right, maybe they would have a decent time together.
"So tell me then, who is going to teach me these so called social skills? Are you volunteering? He leaned back again and shut his eyes lazily, putting his glass down. He seemed to consider her like a lizard basking on a rock. "Aren't you the one who came over here to scold me? Don't people usually try to encourage the other party by offering them a drink? Or, am I supposed to offer you something?" He opened his eyes, and let a ball of fire build in his palm. The flames licked lazily around his fingers, and he held it out to her.
"More importantly, it's amusing to be around someone who isn't afraid of fire."
Blue smirked. For some reason, seeing her flounder against the fire was amusing in a sick way. Was he sick? Probably. They said arson was a step leading into becoming a serial killer after all, so maybe he was half-cooked, rounding the bin toward darker things. But if he was a little cracked, what did that make her for hanging out with him?
She started changing shirts and he admired the view. He didn't try to reach out again. She was smarter than that, he was sure. But he did have to focus from enjoying things too much. The whole point of this negotiation was to prove he wasn't interested in what was happening. But he was interested. She was becoming an unnecessary distraction.
"And you think you aren't the only option in the world, darlin'? This isn't the first pair of pants I've burnt away, if you catch my drift." He came closer, using height to his advantage again. It was a rude move, but necessary. He brought his face closer, teasing. "Have you ever kissed a fire? I hear it tickles." He teased. They both smelt like booze but he loved it.
She drew closer, chasing after the alcohol like a cat after a string. He wondered if she would flat fall into his arms if he really tried, but he didn't think she trusted him enough, and he didn't feel like she should trust him that much, to be fair. He was still considering lighting her shirt on fire just to see her reaction. He was a little twisted that way.
"Hmm, you can have the booze--" he let her take the bottle away from one hand, while the flames on the other arm drew warmer. If she was talented enough she could jump to incorporeal form to avoid the spontaneous flash of flames. His eyes had a dark but amused look to them.
"But whose to say I really want you taking them off? You are amusing, but would you really be as amusing in other ways?" He picked up another bottle, but didn't drink yet. He was already feeling a healthy buzz of warmth that probably made his blue flames grow warmer. He needed to keep his head or he actually would catch things on fire. It wasn't like clothing was flammable, right?
First time buying alcohol? Blue broke into a grin at that and actually laughed. Her comment was too on point and that was the reason she got away with it. ”In some ways, you aren’t entirely wrong. See, I don’t generally buy things. I make someone else do the hard work and pick things out, and mosey along behind them to reap the rewards. I thought I should at least try hitting the night life once and find out if it was worth it. Until now, can’t say I found much of interest.”
She definitely seemed to have attention for the fire. He wondered what the reasoning was. Pyromaniac? Mutant? She had that carefree edge that only came when someone knew he couldn’t really hurt them. He was trying to read her, looking almost like a snake seizing up a meal. Then she commented again, and he wondered if he was supposed to take that as an insult. He leaned closer to her, pushing more heat toward the skin in his shoulders and face. He was risking melting his shirt soon, but he had to know.
”If I’m second, who does that make the first? Surely not a tiny thing like yourself?” he supposed. His could almost reach her drink, and if given the opportunity, he would make hers a tiki torch too. What would she do if he shared some of the flames?
The girl decided to walk over, which Blue had mixed feelings about. On the one hand, he was irritated at the bartender. On the other, there was something about the way she laughed and the amused tone she took toward him that made him resist outright lashing out at her. Hmm, the insult was tossed his way, but he had started it by flipping her off, after all. He rolled his eyes.
"Some people come to socialize, other's come for their libation of choice. Since it was so hard for me to obtain the later, le's just say I became less willing to tolerate the first." His voice had a low rumble to it with his attitude tonight. He held his hand against the flames, letting the flames tickle his fingers while they had something to feed off of. The empty glass would not supply them long. He looked toward her hand, with an almost greedy expression at the drink. Then his eyes went back up to her face, a slight furrow on his features.
"An' what about you, luv? You on a kick for danger like some of those teenagers? Or just happen to be drawn to the brightest flame?" He held up a hand and let the blue flames lazily shift in the light. If his hand got close enough, she might feel the pulse of warmth as he released heat from the closest hand. She seemed like she could be one of two people: those that enjoyed the fire, or those that ran.
