The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Saph couldn't help but laugh when Andy's stomach growled, and she blushed. What could he do to resist that? It was like a heat lamp for the heart. A veritable death ray of adorable. He was vexxed!
"You know, I have felt the same way. How about he go grab lunch, then pie, then head home?"
More blushing! He was like a kid in the candy store.
"Hah! You're so goddamn beautiful, babe! Off to food!"
He grabbed her hand as she gathered her shaky reply on the modeling situation. More adorable; she was trying to kill him. Time to say something to ruin it!
"Well is good! Heh heh... You'll have to tell me more; Don't want me getting jealous and thinkin y'got a boyfriend in Greece!" He chuckled, and wondered for a moment if she would take that statement seriously. Naaaah... Right?
"No idea why she's here, and the alternative is that some guy raped her and got her pregnant. Let's face it, if she'd wanted not to have it, the option is there."
"Dunno if the rock's too sharp or the hard place too hard... I dunno what I would do..."
Shit. The atmosphere got a little darker as he sat silently against the wall for a moment. Cafas pulled him out of it. He'd been through it too... Maybe even worse, with those cultists. That had been a mess no one could clean up. Even if he didn't show it well, he appreciated it.
"You didn't fail man, she's alive isn't she? More than can be said for them."
"Yeah... yeah."
"Couldn't tell you 'bout the last bit though. She's from the sanctuary for starters. I doubt she'll put it together though, and I'm not going to help her if I can help it. C'mon they'll be waiting for us."
"The sanctuary... Seems like bad news follows everyone who knows that place... Yeah, let's go. Don't want them to start wondering where I went off to."
"How do you keep Kealey off the scent? She seems to know everything, what with her empathy."
Saph's face went a little red at the thought. "Erm... Well... I dunno... I kinda avoid her like the plague if I can... If not, though... Don't laugh, man, this is for real... A guy experienced in the matter once told me... that.... Don't laugh. He said all you gotta do to get a female psychic or empath to leave you alone... Is... Well... stare at their chest and think about anything but their chest... A little... S... S'worked so far."
He blinked awkwardly a few times, shifted on his feet, and turned to hobble toward the front door. "Prolly... Prolly not a very good idea, actually."

((Many congrats on 300 posts!))
It was unclear if Aiden's words got through. Screams, riot gun shots, mutants using their abilities, car alarms, officers shouting orders, and thousands of other sounds coalesced into a symphony of awesome dread. One by one the officers around them fell. Saphirus fell. Cafas fell. The horror was so real, so great.
The chair in the control room was empty.
The crowd grew, not only in numbers, but in size; once again the floor was rushing up, and the rioters were pressing down as if to try and stamp him into the ground. Everything grew dark, and the din of the crowd grew loud enough to drown out thought.
And then it was all over. The room was the soft white it had been when Aiden had entered, and a hand was in his face, open, as if offering to help him back onto his feet.

The fury would not cease. People didn't want him to join them! They wanted to destroy him. A close look at himself would show that he was wearing blue. The crowd was seeing red.
"Being an X-Man means making hard decisions. It means running into a burning building as saving everyone you can, even if you know you wont be able to save them all. It means harming those who would harm others. It means you may even have to kill."
The crowd pulled at Aiden, tearing at him, lashing out at him relentlessly. Angry faces would appear, and be replaced with others. People would fall, and they wouldn't get back up. Any struck down would quickly be replaced. In any respite, Cafas and Saphirus could be seen plunging into the crowd to take out dangerous threats, such as a mutant flinging giant.(True story)
"We held the line that day... Four officers died, but they gave their lives in order to prevent the deaths of hundreds. You will be asked to risk such sacrifice. You will be asked to do more than you ever thought yourself capable of, and you will rise to the occasion."
The pressure of the crowd would grow. It would go on for what seemed like an eternity.
"That is... if you really want it... So tell me, Aiden... Do you?"

What... What was that?
Did he just get a rush from killing someone? He stared down at the dead body... His heart was racing... He felt... exhilarated... This wasn't right! His teeth chattered. He quickly clenched his jaw, and looked up at the woman across from him. There was no time to think about the sickening idea of enjoying an execution; They were on the doorstep of the most dangerous family in the city. The woman stowed her weapon, and the Judge grabbed the body, hoisting it into the dumpster unceremoniously.
"Same as you I guess. Except, I hoped to get answers from him before he died. I guess I'll have to go look for dem elsewhere." A vigilante... With an accent. How she said it wansn't nearly as important as what she said.
She came HERE to get answers? Did she know where she was? Maybe she was hoping to knock the man out and take him to another location for interrogation? Interesting... He admittedly didn't often pay attention to how other vigilantes did things; He had his own processes. For example; he knew everything he wanted to know about this place before he ever stepped a foot near it.
"The drug shipment arrived last night. I have kept watch on the area. Nothing large enough to be the shipment has left; it's here, and thus the Zamboni's have sealed their fate. They will die today, and the I will destroy the shipment." He spoke in a gravelly voice. He still wasn't sure if this woman was really what she claimed to be, but he wasn't worried; if she tried to attack him, she would die.
"You should go home; I- someone's coming."
He grabbed her and went the only direction that was safe to go; through the door, and into the building of the Zamboni's cover business.
A car could be heard pulling into the Alley; he'd felt it speeding up. A gauntleted hand reached up to cover the woman's mouth as doors opened and shut. "Heh... Yup, blood stains... @#$^er's been here alright... Hey, lookit that! He put Lou in the dumpster! Tsk Tsk Tsk... Poor sap... We got him now, though! You guys ready to make some money?"
"A trap..." He muttered. Wait a second... he could feel them... He could feel the man walking outside... the click of a walkie talkie. "He's in the building, guys... Who ever brings me the Judge's in the head gets Lou's cut!" His hand slowly slid from her face as the sensation of feeling so much overwhelmed him... It was almost like... that dream. He felt bodies... So many of them... they were closing in on the building; the building itself was mostly empty; how? How did they get out without him seeing? As quickly as the burst of power came, it was gone, though. The Judge stumbled back, stopping only when the wall was in his way. "What... Are you?" His normally powered sixth sense kicked in. "No time... We are surrounded, I'm sorry, but it's likely you will die, unless you are bullet proof." He turned to head deeper into the building. "I can make no promises, but if you stay near me, you might live." It was a lie. He'd felt how many people were out there; he was fairly certain they'd managed to actually pull in more hired guns than he could reasonably kill.
"I felt a room down the way. There are people in it, and they are alone; maybe we can catch them off guard." Give the girl hope, Saph. At least she wouldn't die without putting up a fight.

Aiden pulled into the boy's room, and the Shy Guys didn't follow, instead hovering at the entrance, and watching silently. A glance out the window would show it crowded by more of the masked red coats, all standing silently and watching. Saph sighed.. Well, that was just great; he had to go into the blue room.
Beneath Aiden's feet would be a colorful assortment of any self respecting kid's favorite pass time; Legos. The Masochist chimed in, a somber grumble filling the air.
"You mentioned you didn't want people getting hurt... Well, they will. No matter how well you do your job, people will get hurt, and you will be putting yourself right there in front of it. Can you take that?"
Beneath Aiden's feet was a city of blocks; strewn about were little Lego men, hundreds, easy; they crowded the little Lego streets, half facing one way, half facing the other; in the middle was a thin line. All of the figures in the line where wearing blue. As Saphirus continued speaking, the line of blue would become more a little less cartoony. Motion would be introduced, and the scene would creep closer; The familiar sensation of being shrunk would certainly be hard to miss.
"Would you hurt people to save people?"
Aiden would find himself in a very real New York, times square... In the middle of the riots. The streets would be dusted with snow; to the left and right would be a line of cops, ahead, a crowd of mutants, behind, another line of cops attempting to hold back a similarly sized group of humans.
"Could you betray your own kind to protect those who would see you as something less... Just because it's the right thing to do?"
Not far off, a greyed out Masochist stood next to another familiar figure; Cafas, also oddly muted in color. They prepared for the first wave.
"I guess we'll see... Good luck, Snowflake."
The greyed out Saphirus yelled at the top of his lungs. "Don't let them through!"

Saph watched with piqued interest as Aiden's mutation began to manifest in truer form... Regenerative qualities were useful. Saph zoomed in on the action, replaying one of the impacts to see how fast it healed. Interesting; A snow based regenerative mutation; he'd seen a lot, but this was a first.
Already, Saph was thinking about how young snowflake's skill would apply to the group dynamic. He made everything else colder; that would make other's uncomfortable, and the snow accumulation might make team movement difficult. Still, CS managed to get by alright.
The Shy guy dropped his weapon when he was hit, and popped into the air, falling through the floor as if he'd been jumped on by a plumber.
"You worry about what's goin on right now; you don't wanna know what's next."
The other Shy Guys closed in, turning their BB guns around and attempting to use them a bludgeons when the BB's showed to be less than effective; they would work well as a team, approaching at equal distance, and falling back if their opponent attempted to single one out. There was still the up stairs or down stairs rout, if Aiden wanted to fall back, though fighting them off all at once was still an option. The Masochist wondered what the boy would choose to do.
"Saphirus! How is piggy? Has she been terribly distraught without me?"
"Hah! Every time I walk into the room she perks up, realizes it's only me, and then sighs and sits back down. It's prolly the most adorable and sad thing I've ever seen. O can tell, though. She knows you're coming back. dang thing's been antsy as hell- eh... Mind my french."
He stood for a moment, holding her, and then abruptly realized he wasn't saying anything. "So... Um... Want some pie? I uhm... Well, I don't have any pie, but I figured you might be hungry after that long flight, and... Well... I love you." Yup, that went well enough. The pie plan was a bad one, wasn't it? Oh well! Who cared! She was here and he was happy!
"We gotta do something, though, because standing here, I might just have to stay forever; This is the best I've felt in months!" He winked, grabbed her bag, and grabbed her hand, heading out toward the parking lot.
"You gotta tell me what happened after I left! How'd the ad thingy go?" That was, after all, how she'd paid for her stay there; heck she might even have more money left over! One billboard had turned into seven photo shoots and a commercial after they'd found out she was available for longer.
Whoda thought cement was such a big deal in Greece?!
Yep. It would have to be a big pie. She'd proven time and time again that she could outeat him on the worst of days... Maybe they would go to that fame jumper's place... They had big desserts. Maybe he could bake her a p- nope, that was a crappy idea. He would ruin it. Maybe he could PAY SOMEONE AT THE MANSION to make them a pie! Did Gemma bake? CS certainly didn't bake. He also didn't need money.
Was he pacing? Aww, man, he was pacing, wasn't he? How much time had gone by? He looked up at the clock just in time to feel a familiar shape moments from hitting him.
"I agápi mou!"
"Gah!" OHSHI- He hadn't thought of anything to say! He stumbled a little, and then realized he was smiling the biggest smile he ever remembered smiling.
"WELCOME HOME!" Oh. That was... actually pretty easy. All that time worrying and it just came out!
He turned to hold her tightly in his gasps, clinging to her like some sort of eucalyptus eating marsupial to a eucalyptus tree, bush, or what ever the heck a eucalyptus sapling grew up to be.
And then he kissed her. Hot damn did he kiss her! Was Ira kissing too? Yup. He couldn't help but chuckle-kiss-chuckle as he felt the tickle of the snake's tongue on his cheek.
His heart pounded in his chest as he held her at arms length. "I missed you so much..." Aww, crap, there went on the water works. Well, at least he hadn't brought Cafas, He'd never live blubbering in an airport down.
Saph was nervous; It wasn't the normal kinda nervous, either. It was that once in a life time nervous you got before something big in your life happened. His palms were sweaty; he rubbed them off on his jeans, and looked about the crowded airport baggage claim for the ten millionth time.
He didn't know why he was even bothering; her flight was late; the screen said her flight was late. What if it was wrong? He stopped and took a breath... What a week it had been, huh? He'd prepared her spot in the room, finished up that last bit of paperwork for her visa, the Judge was dead as far as anyone else was concerned, and his life had been put in order so that it would consist of himself, Andrea, the X-Men, and nothing more; Everything was falling into place, so what was he so nervous for?
That was actually a pretty easy question to answer. He'd proposed to a woman, and then promptly been sent back home without her. He hadn't seen Andrea in months!
And now she was on her way, and he was here to pick her up. He took another deep breath. What if she had second thoughts? He'd wondered what the nicest person in New York had wanted to do with him in the beginning, but they were about to take the leap for crissakes!
He found himself wishing he'd brought Cafas or someone to talk things over with. What would he say to her? Oh jesus, he hadn't even thought of that! Wait, what were they gonna do with the day? Unpack. Yeah, she had stuf- oh right... She had nothing to unpack. Er... pie. They would find and eat some pie. That was it. Yep. Pie.
"Y-Yes. You... Okay, so you know about all of this? Jesus, why is she here?!" He tried to keep his voice down, stepping closer to Cafas, and further from the corner of the building.
"It's not my kid. Far out, first the magazines, now you? You know I have a boyfriend right? Honestly Saph, try to think more highly of me than that. After everything we've been through, honestly..."
"Well think about it, Cafas, what's the alternative? I'd wish being the child of a cheat on a kid before that any day... Jesus... I failed... If I'd got there sooner..." He turned and leaned against the building, feeling as if the air had been kicked out of him.
The shove and the cheeky comment made him feel a little better. "You should see me near Gemma... I feel like an old man hobbling around everywhere... Shit, maybe I am getting old... She didn't notice me... not without the mask... But... Aw, man, I acted like a freaking weirdo, man... I sat there and blurted out 'You're pregnant' like a drunken idiot, and nearly fell outa my face leaving Gemma's range... Holy hell, I've screwed thing up big time, Caf. If she makes me, I'm dead." He couldn't have that... Andrea was nearly back.
". . . How well do you know her? Would she keep shut if she found out who I was?"
The target had exited the room; around the household, more windows were heard being smashed in, though these sounded more like the entry type of smashing. At the end of the hallway, a thick gloved had cleared out glass before a man in a red hooded coat hopped through. They were apparently on the ground floor.
The man had a mask on... It looked like... A shy guy? He didn't say a word, instead opting to reach into his coat and pull out a BB gun, and start pumping it furiously. Similar things were happening in other parts of the house.
As for the layout; at one end of the hallway was a window, which the shy guy occupied. Right across from the door Aiden had just shut was another room, similar to the first, but blue. Two more small rooms were further down the hallway; one was a laundry room, the other, some form of office. Past that set of doors was another hallway, which lead to a living room, the front door, which was being kicked in, and the kitchen.
There were two sets of stairs, one going down, the other, up.
Oh, and there seemed to be a lot of shy guys... Like... An uncomfortable amount, all pumping their BB guns, and firing off pop shots.
"Ahh, good ol level 3. Those are gonna sting for weeks, I tell you what." Saph chuckled; he was confident the kid could get through this one... What was next, though... Well... They would have to see.
The Zambonis... He couldn't say much for the name, but few people were brave enough to draw comparisons between them and the ice rink cleaners in public; they were likely to go missing. This family, and everyone involved with them, stood out as the most morally frightening group of individuals in New York. They were involved in contract killings, drug running, human trafficking, joy torture, and just about everything else the public was too afraid to point out to officers when they saw it happening.
Indeed, Barty Zamboni had been on the news after his recent rape trial dismissal proudly announcing they he was... Untouchable.
As far as the Judge was concerned, everyone in the building he was staring at was guilty, and they were all going to be sentenced tonight.
His fist shuddered a little, hinting at the energy he'd gathered before coming here. He steeled it with a clench; The Judge didn't shake, that was the masochist. The steel clad mutant jumped to another roof in order to get a better perspective on his target; he'd been spying this place for weeks, preparing for the Judge's final outing... Andrea was nearly done with all of the red tape and paperwork; she would be back soon, and he would be too busy being happy to be the Judge anymore. He figured if he was going to end it, he might as well end it taking out the biggest, baddest criminals in the city.
As he walked to the edge of the roof he'd selected for his point of entry, he heard the sound of a struggle. The vigilante crouched down low, and peeked out in order to get a scope of the situation... And saw a woman apparently beating the living daylights of a man. That was odd.. Was she a family member? No, he knew all of their faces... In fact, the man looked like one of the body guards he's seen coming and going from this estate.
Interesting.
"You don't want to pull that trigger... There are many armed guards in the area, it would be a death sentence for you..." He spoke from above.
He landed a moment later, right behind the man, who was looking about, confused and seeking a way out. The Judge booted him the the back of the leg, causing him to collapse. He then grabbed him by the hair to a sitting position. "Suspect... Name unknown. Crime, defending the Zamboni family, multiple counts of murder, aiding and abetting. Sentence: Death."
"W-Wai-"pop!
And with that, their little friend was gone. He now looked up at the woman with the gun. "Why are you here?" She held the gun with familiarity; she knew how to use it, and it was likely hers. He was ready to kill her at a moments notice if she answered wrongly, or started shooting.
Woah. So that worked; He called for a Cafas, and one just fell out of the air to his feet; Well, not exactly; he fell around the corner, which Saph's sense picked up as a little thump, and then came around just in time to stop him from hobbling through the front door. Hey, Cafas was limping, too!
"I can tell... Hey, there's a girl here for you... And... Well..." He hobbled on over to Cafas, and looked about quickly, pulling him around the corner again to avoid prying ears. "Listen... Ive met her before, and... I was... I was the Judge. Something bad happened to her... I gotta know, how do you know this girl... Are you two...? Uhm... She's pregnant."
He had to know if Cafas was being a sneaking casanova, or if... if... that had really happened. Part of him was willing to pray it was the first answer. He glanced around the corner quickly; they were headed inside.
"They're on their way in to Gemma's office. I'm sorry I'm heaping this all on you right now, but I gotta know, man."
The final barbie retorted as she fell to the floor. There was a still and eerie silence as Saph leaned forward in the comfy chair, and touched a slider, placing it to level two for a moment, and then pausing... He could be nice, and ramp it up slowly... Nahhh. Click!
AAAAAND poke the 'go' key!
"Level 3 initiated."
"Listen, newbie. It's about to get a little rough; you just let me know if you want to quit any time, kay? I mean, you just might not be X-man material, and that's okay."
The floor would suddenly rush far away from Aiden as he was returned to normal size. The room would remain silent for a moment longer; that silence would be shattered by a tear gas grenade smashing through glass. The door to the room was open; retreat to the hallway would seem like a viable option; or there was the now open window. It was one of those two, or tear gas! Yay!
